The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

The next stage of their journey would come in parts of Alaska. Within the wilderness, they would have to find clues to where their targets were located. As the sun began to rise over the frozen peaks of Alaska's mountains. Glimmering rays peeked through the snow-covered tree's. Takehiko sat on a log waiting as he oftentimes did. Wearing a t-shirt with a large dark blue winter coat. His pants were jeans and a pair of combat boots. His zanpakuto rested idly in his left hand. The Kuchiki's hair was let down for a change instead of looking up. The snow was still fresh with red coloring and bones left lingering. These were byproducts of Takehiko's last time here. One need only glance around to see the damage done to some of these people. A woman's bones laid with her legs and arms missing. Indicating they'd been ripped off entirely. burn marks now covered with fresh snow that had piled up quickly.

Sitting within this place was a reminder of what lingered in the darkest corners. Things that spoke volumes to his mind deeper inside of him. Anger boiled over and finally, a breaking point had been reached. He'd not left the place since awakening and being informed. Jezebel had sent a letter to Abigail, making it out to be a friendly letter. Informing her that the hunt was on for the slavers master. The man they'd defeated was only a lower member on the totem pole. That she'd sent Takehiko ahead but there were complications. She'd not go into detail merely give Abigail the location to go. Takehiko's eyes remained closed as small breaths left his frame. His clothing had been changed after the incident had happened. The cheerful and generally happy innocent boy said little. He didn't have much to talk about anymore. This trip had left him with both mental and physical scars. Things he'd awoken to realize he had done. His azure eyes remained fixated on that woman's corpse. Missing her arms and legs half-buried in the snow. A wild beast perhaps ripping them off. Oh, it took but moments for him to realize what had happened truly.

The nature of Akuma had been revealed to him more. Uncovering like snow had when exposed to heat. This place would forever be a place that showed him both the horror of betrayal and the lingering pain of its repercussions.

Two Vizards Are Better Then One FM423gF

It was cold. The message she had received had said to dress warmly, but Abigaíl was far from experienced when it came to the frozen norths of the world. She'd usually favored the more temperate areas to the south, or the grasslands that had been her home, once upon a time. This was new, and she didn't exactly like it.

Stepping out from the tear in space opened by her hand, Abigaíl had dressed in a thick coat and trousers. Steam exhaled from the mouth of her mask before she removed it to conserve stamina, and almost immediately, the bite of the cold air sank in. She hadn't known well enough to dress in layers, and already, her clothes were doing little to keep her comfortable.

However, all of that was forgotten for a moment when she laid eyes upon the carnage all around the trio, and then upon the Kuchiki in his disheveled state. His eyes guided her directly to a skeleton missing its arms and legs, but left in their place fractures and cracks that suggested something... violent had happened to the individual.

Abigaíl said nothing while she raised the fur-lined hood over her head, but glanced between the duo that stood in utter silence before her arrival. She worried, but now that the three of them were gathered, dealing with the slaver's master would take priority. "What've you found out?"

The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko was normally one who would speak but this time remained quiet. His eyes shifted slowly over towards Abigail's appearance. She'd come ill-prepared for the cold that blistered around them. His eyes drifted back to the skeleton half covered in the snow. Jezebel didn't intend to go with them this time, but she was concerned. That much was evident in her expression. "Welcome Miss Abigail, Young Master Takehiko had come to meet a contact. But she'd switched sides and attacked him...This was the result." She gestured around her now so Abigail could see up to twenty bodies. Some exposed from the snow as Takehiko's eyes looked just empty. Capturing a look much like his Uncle Byakuya's at this moment. Jezebel brought a hand to her chin sighing. This problem was rather difficult since nobody survived the encounter. "When I arrived on the scene, the young master had dawned his mask...but he'd turned into someone far more violent in that moment. So coming towards him wasn't possible even for me."

Jezebel seemed to be the one doing most the talking as she had most of the information. "So in light of what's happened, I would like you both to search the nearby mountain. I will scout ahead and then double around to meet you if trouble surfaces. " Jezebel cast one final glance towards Takehiko's position. Pushing her glasses up and sighing a bit. The correct term for what happened when he tapped into Akuma's power. That was something both of them should have been familiar with. But in truth, he was thankful to not hear it. He had no choice after this mission but to seek help. Akuma's fury was able to ensnare him so completely. It was like drowning in an ocean of anger and being swallowed. It wasn't like being taken over or hollowfied. No, that sensation provided a chance of fighting. This provided no such chance or opportunity within him. It merely was a savage beast. It would be better for him to wield his zanpakuto in this situation.

But that too was a gamble he couldn't continue to be passing out. Or draining his energy every time he fought. Slowly standing up snow fell off his shoulders showing how still he'd been. Slowly being piled on by the snow as he remained quiet. Transfixed on that location for a moment before exhaling a soft breath. Stopping short of heading towards the mountain in the distance. His eyes cast one last glance towards the corpse. That woman whose arms and legs had been removed. Takehiko continued a slow walk his eyes scanning the vicinity of trouble. His spiritual pressure was kept at a zero without giving away his presence. But he'd come here with a mission in mind. His hand felt a weight to that sword he wielded. Weight to everything that he did at this moment. It felt so heavy the choices to make and how to fight. Barreling in just didn't work anymore he couldn't risk it. It could be called a knowing fear of what happened when he plunged into the Abyss.

Hardly one to be called stoic, Abigaíl's expression betrayed her inner thoughts upon learning that the Kuchiki boy had been the cause of this. She had never seen him use his mask, true, but she'd thought he'd been able to control himself more. However, his sullen expression and Jezebel's restraint still said more.

In light of her own experiences with hollowfication, both recently and long ago, she decided not to press the issue of control. Slowly, she approached the Kuchiki from behind and raised her hand... Though she couldn't bring herself to lay it on his shoulder. She knew that she should, for comfort and guidance were exactly what she'd needed at that time. However, all she could see was the face of Elyss, caked in blood after her own hollowfication, and the pit in her stomach grew heavy as she remembered her own failure.

So, Abigaíl sighed and swallowed her emotions, then quickly stepped in front of the Kuchiki and took the lead. It was all she could do to say as she passed, "It's not your fault."

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko knew what happened all too vividly because this sadly wasn't Akuma taking over. This was an effect of that power which he never dared touch. Having finally gotten stronger and losing his zanpakuto. Takehiko softly spoke his voice, not chipper as always. "Hollowfication, wasn't it...Akuma..." He said softly sighing as he followed her. "His power...is to..turn off...all mental restraint and only..fight...It's...not hollowfication.." Was all he could say really. How did one describe drowning in an ocean of rage? Did they compare it to breathing outside air with toxic fumes? It wasn't frustration or an emotion one could understand. It could be called a berserker for how much it turned everything off. Continuing to follow her lead she would hear the cry of the wolves to her left. Running through the tree's but not coming for them. Hunting a deer as a pack they were determined to catch. On her right, if one glimpsed through the tree's a mother bear and her cubs were heading for hibernation.

"I could see them...Feel them..as I tore and ripped at them. I guess..I don't really know." It wasn't depression but a realization Takehiko had. Nothing short of him standing in awe of his previous actions. He wasn't sure how to feel, disappointment was one certainly. Sad was another but then just a sense of feeling lost. Akuma never told him about his power and this was why. Takehiko wasn't ready to control or wield it. He could dawn the mask and not use it sure. But that mask felt so much more frightening now. How hard would it be to lose control in that state? Hollowfication would be such a simple thing for his brother to do. But that ravenous state was swallowing things up one or two at a time. As they continued walking the lone mountain spread across for hundreds of miles. Making an entrance would be difficult furthermore finding one. Following her lead was all Takehiko did this time. For he'd done enough back at the previous place.

Oh, she thought quietly. That's how it was, then? She pondered the differences between true hollowfication and simply shutting off one's inhibitions and restraints, but after a couple of moments, the depth of such a subject overwhelmed her, and she stepped back from it. He'd drawn the short end of the stick with that kind of power, she supposed.

"It... sounds like hollowfication." Abigaíl spoke slowly, and lowly as they marched through the snow. Her eyes scanned the expansive wilderness for any sign of something out of place; of any markings of man, in particular. "Nothing but rage and hunger, and the power to see both satisfied violently. You only get to remember what you've done with more detail."

She stopped for a moment, and stepped up and just inches above the snow they had been driving underfoot. With careful footing, she continued at the same pace upon unseen platforms of reishi that left the snow intact. "We shouldn't leave tracks."

The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko just wasn't in the most talkative of moods due to that. His power wasn't a good one to use. It didn't allow him to wield it properly. Gently his right hand extended and rested on her shoulder. Quietly he pointed towards what seemed to be a strange portion of the mountain. It was discolored and didn't match the rest and further inspection would show it moved. As it appeared to be a door of some sort. Takehiko had an idea just not a very good one. They didn't have a way to open it and well this would have to work. "I'll...draw them..to me...when you see a chance..go in and find whatever you can about who runs this." Takehiko inhaled straightening his form up slowly. There was a hint of hesitation on the Kuchiki's frame. He looked for a moment considering drawing his mask down. Entering that state to if anything just allows Abigail five minutes. Did he need too to use his shikai here perhaps? One strike with it would do to knock on the door right? It was too risky he could pass out from blood loss.

"Five minutes, that's how long you have to find something...Kill whoever is in there..leading them or..get information...Don't....come near me..you'll know.." He Takehiko slowly walked across platforms above the snow. Not remaining in it as a rather solemn look hung on his face. Acceptance perhaps as he stepped from the bushes. His eyes looking towards a camera. Slowly he pointed his finger upwards shooting the camera with a blast of air from his finger. Performing Hadō 1 with little trouble as the air smashed the camera into pieces. Once again he was leaving the harder task to her. Ruin stood ready prepared to take him out of the form. Akuma looked sad almost that his brother had to use it. Slowly his hand came up to his face now. Pulling down a red mask formed over his face. Similar to a samurai mask with two horns on the head, fangs reaching down on either side of the mouth. Bringing up his fingers as he wore his mask now small crackling electricity formed.

Black and blue as lightning danced around his index and middle fingertips. Before emerging in a powerful beam that shot clear through the door and caused loud screaming. The bolt had black electricity formed around its outer side with hollow energy pulsating around it. He'd infused hollow energy into his lower end kido creating a version that felt and acted differently. Crackling electricity went through the door as it began to creak and groan. Snow falling as the door began to open. Men beginning to emerge with guns and other weapons were drawn. Slowly within his mind, he spoke. "Go ahead..Ruin. Takehiko gave one last sigh before it began. Takehiko's body remained still almost unnaturally so. A pulse came out now of violent reiatsu blasting snow backward. His head rocking as it happened almost like he was being taken over. Slowly his hands began to tense as did his entire body. It was like a painful transformation was happening.

Bullets rained towards him without delay or thing to block their path. With a roar, a blast of reiatsu sent them into trees. Slowly his hands crept forward slouching as breathing was the only noise heard. Takehiko's form shot forward with a blast sending snow into the air. His hand smacking with a swipe across a man's jaw. The impact of which sent a splash of red everywhere. As the man's torso fell lifeless to the ground. His form twisted avoiding a sword piercing him by grabbing the man's face. Slowly a cero formed in his hand causing the male's head to be blown off. They continued firing but despite losing his senses. He seemed to avoid bullets almost a note of the speed they lacked. Charging into twenty of them he let out a piercing roar as his voice carried through the Alaskan Wilderness. Bodies were flying around as a melee of punches and kicks with other things used. Punching a man through his ribs and into a tree. He'd thrown bodies around impaling some people on tree's as though they were weapons for him to use.

Abigail Portion: Inside of the facility it was filled with hover cars and complicated machines. Cages filled with children and parents who were at the half waypoint. They would go to new lives from here. As slaves for the sex industry and everything else imaginable. Guards continued to pour outside to fight the rampaging Kuchiki. To the right were the barracks and sleeping quarters. Where men rushed grabbing tools and weapons. And to the left was the command center, where processing happened and the commander of this outpost resided. Not a capable fighter but a businessman. His belief all could be bought if they were worth his time. So this had been a most promising evening perhaps a recruit for the beast pens. Someone to fight in the arena until they collapsed without regard. They could make him money that was all that mattered. But to come alone was such a folly that maybe death would welcome them. He chuckled observing the fight outside with enjoyment. While women against their will wearing shock colors pleased him.

Abigaíl listened quietly while the Kuchiki explained his plan. To be completely honest, it was a fucking stupid idea, but the boy didn't seem all there at the moment. She wasn't sure if she could trust him to carry out a stealth mission properly right now. He might've been safest outside, while she dealt with whatever awaited them inside the facility.

She certainly would've been safer, at least.

"Fine then," she sighed heavily as the boy began the process of awakening his power. It was much too showy, though she supposed she might not have been one to talk about being flashy. The moment that it seemed Takehiko had gotten the facility's fullest attention, she crossed the impromptu battlefield and descended into the steel tunnels with rapid flashes of movement.

Inside the facility, all of her training and experience in the stealth force came back like it was only yesterday. It was only through the shadows that she moved, faster than the eye, human or electric, could see, and silent, she stayed as ever more men and women passed by her with weapons of all sorts. A part of her hoped that the Kuchiki boy would be alright.

Passed the cages full of frightened, abused humans and equipment and technology she'd never familiarized herself with, she came to a fork in the road. To her right, she could feel more humans, their meager reiatsu raised with agitation and readiness, but to her left, behind a closed door with a small plaque on its face, she could feel... Well, she wasn't sure what exactly, but a single, calm human surrounded by others who cowered with fear.

Once the latest batch of soldiers had passed, Abigaíl stepped out from the shadows and came to the door. She sensed nothing worthy of being called dangerous on the other side, but still, for just a moment, she thought about donning her own mask. In the end, she decided against it, lest she tire herself needlessly, and opened the door.

She was not prepared for what awaited her on the other side.

"Well, well." She gently closed the door behind her, and adopted a facade of smug grin and gleam. "Is this a bad time, then?" This time, she had better control over the situation. This time, she would get some information before the bastard met his end. Thinking on how to go about her questioning, Abigaíl slowly drew her zanpakutō and wedged it into the seam between the door and wall.

It seemed to be the only way in, and now, there would be no way out.

The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

His frame sat still now not moving as bodies flew around Takehiko. Energy consuming wasn't too bad at the moment. Exhaustion didn't factor in yet as he waited inside himself. Seeing that bloodshed and ever-growing crimson on his body. Takehiko didn't want to do this anymore it wasn't worth the pain. His eyes felt sore and red. As though he could cry for what was going on. Going into this rampage so he could fight. So he could escape from feeling the pain. So the sadness and remorse he felt would go away. So he could feel numb from what happened previously. A hand gently reached forward touching his shoulder. "Takehiko, we don't have to do this..You are stronger then this I know you are saddened by what you did. But this won't make the pain go away, it only numbs it." Takehiko's body meanwhile threw people around blasting them with ceros. Using his reiatsu almost like a rabid dog. His eyes watered within the world as he stared on. Make...Make it....Make..it stop...Ruin."

Within moments the torrent of reiatsu stopped as Takehiko's body within the real world held a female's skull. Slamming her into a tree over and over. Blood and mush dripping into his fingers. Takehiko looked around having brought a body count up. Walking towards the door as a large amount of them began coming. His mask remained on as he gestured with his finger. Sending a massive airwave out that blew those coming towards him into the walls. Black energy crackled around him. As he began stepping forward having crumbled. Takehiko's form walked towards the cages now. Slipping shots and slamming his fist into people. Crackling electricity formed on his fingers. Shooting people with bursts of blue electricity that jettisoned from his fingers. Takehiko had dry eyes under the mask. Bringing his hand towards the cage locks. Metal made from a strange combination like the bullets. With one powerful yank, the cage's door came off the hinges. Takehiko had simply jerked it from the hinges.

When another group came he tossed the cage towards them firing a blast of air from his index finger sending it towards them at one hundred miles per hour. The people inside cowared in fear of his presence. His yellow eyes looked almost broken at that. Sadness in them as he wished to cry more. Sudden sharp and slicing pain went through his back causing him to stumble forward. Spreading his body out as machine gun rounds ripped into his skin. He'd lowered his guard now as he felt blood trickling down his back. His clothing in tatters Takehiko's hair fell messily along his shoulders. Screams came out as the women in the cage saw the bleeding body. Takehiko knew he wasn't in the best of the condition now. Slowly he turned as they changed clips. "After this goes off......run." His voice coming out with that hollow hiss as pieces of his mask began to crumble. Cracks had formed from damages he'd taken. Extending his arm he reached inside himself now.

Slowly his frame shuddered as it wasn't him low on energy. More then injuries he sustained protecting those girls. He'd shielded them with his body instead. Protecting them from the dangers of those bullets. Their bodies wouldn't just be mangled had they taken them. "Akuma, let's...try something different...for....our last...trick..."

Gently his index and middle finger pressed together as the people prepared to fire another volley towards his location. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" Slowly a red orb formed of high-temperature flames around his right hand's palm. A slowly black aura surrounded those flames. Having finished the incanation he fired the spell of flames towards the enemies. Shakkaho was the name this spell was known by at Hadō 31 in its level. Takehiko didn't have any strength left to cry out the name. Hollowfying that kido had caused his body so much pain. As the orb shot forward suddenly expanding leaving a trail of flames behind it. Melting the bullets of their guns as it moved on.

Those hits were burned alive killing the last batch of troops that remained in this facility. Gently he remained still seeing that he wasn't all the way here. Slowly his knee's gave out before he laid upon his stomach breathing lightly. Having given himself over for now as his mask broke and he remained unmoving now. His right hand alone remained in front of him. He'd paid the price for not being prepared today. For not bringing Abigail his best, he could no longer remain this way. He needed to grow or someday Abigail would be in danger. Or someday someone would really..die.

Abigail Portion: The man turned the women pleasing his lower half stopped before he gently touched a button. Shocking them causing them to continue his smile crept along his lips. " Well, another rat crawls inside. Come enjoy the show, your friend is putting on..He'll make an excellent addition to our fighting rings. " The man turned his gaze back to the scene playing out on the screen. Watching as the men littered him with bullets as he protected himself. He cackled as his women finished pleasing him. He'd reached his climactic ending on his own. "Oh look at that, so much for the rings..little brave boy sacrificed himself. How noble, how pathetically weak. " His eyes slowly turned to her as he merely ended this conversation with one word. "How much, how much will it cost to let me go, name your price."

God... Dammit, was all she could manage to think while she watched the boy flail about mindlessly on the many screens behind the bastard and his... entourage. So much for the Kuchiki being safer outside the facility, then. Abigaíl thought briefly on just ending this quickly to ensure the Kuchiki didn't get killed, but a particularly crueler side of her prevailed for the mission's sake.

"I think... You misunderstand something." She grinned wider as she unzipped the large coat she wore, revealing more form-fitting clothes underneath that were supposed to have helped her to stay warm. They didn't. Either way, she was glad to let some of the room's warm air in.

"Look at how easily the boy just decimated your troops." She put her plan into action, and stepped closer to the desk and its many occupants. "He's a useful kind of idiot, but still an idiot. Among us, he's actually very weak.

"I, on the other hand," Gently, she hooked a finger underneath the chin of one of the closer women. She'd obviously been abused, but right now, it was more important that she act the part and pretend to be admiring the... merchandise. "I am well trained, obviously. I got to you through the same hallways as your men were running out without being noticed, after all. And...

"I am the one who single-handedly killed the man you'd had hiding in the Soul Society." She paused for a moment to let that fact sink in deeper. During this time, she lowered her hand from the woman's chin and placed it over the desk, where her mask manifested for the man to admire.

"He is but one boy, playing at being a hero because he failed so utterly at being a soldier. Out there in the world, however? You're going to need to contend with the Gotei and its thousands of soldiers. ShadowFall and the Espada, with an endless army of hollow and arrancar behind them. The Vandenreich, even, I suppose."

Her grin twisted to reveal her conniving mind and its many turning gears behind the facade. "Each one, with soldiers able to end your operation entirely on their own if they can take their eyes off one another for long enough. Those are only the big names, too."

As her speech came to its conclusion, Abigaíl made herself comfortable and sat on the edge of the desk. She held all the power here, not the human, and she knew it. "The question you should be asking is: how much will I pay this woman to work with me, as bodyguard and partner?"
