[Spirit Class 2 | Hazard B] Ninsianna Kishar YwemKAY

Psychological Analysis

Some might say that Ninsianna is the absolute least interesting person they have ever met. They might not be entirely incorrect, either. Of course, she takes no particular offense to this, considering being "interesting" is not something she considers a priority. Her only desire is to see everything in her life be handled in a regulated, standardized manner. That is not to say she demands absolute and total order, but rather that everything she does is recorded, planned, and scheduled carefully. This is not simply a matter of business, but applies to quite literally anything more complex than a casual conversation. She simply finds a very primal satisfaction in having everything properly documented and accounted for. Even in situations such as personal intimacy, she requires full official documentation of what exactly was agreed upon. All things have their place, and all things must be documented accordingly. That is simply the natural order.

RELATIONSHIPS

○ Enkika: The woman Ninsianna loves, and will always love. While their relationship is built upon having met as goddess and priestess, she knows on an intellectual level that they shared something far more meaningful than that. Ultimately, that is why Enkika remains the only goddess to which Ninsianna prays.
○ Ahura Mazda: A creature of the purest evil. Even disregarding her personal bias, she despises his disregard for rules or discipline, the fact that he is a genuinely unstoppable force that will simply do as he wishes. He must be removed before anything good can be done.
○ Cyrus ast-Auramazda: A man for whom Ninsianna once held the highest possible respect, her view of him has soured quite drastically. His own hubris not only cut his own ability to achieve the goals they shared, but defiled the image of the woman that Ninsianna loved dearly. He is not someone irredeemable, and she fully acknowledges that his core beliefs are the very same ones that she aligned with when the two of them first met. But it would be a lie to say she still has full confidence in him.
○ Shirohime: Ninsianna does not trust those whose actions are clearly veiled in deceit, and it is all too apparent just how little she can trust this woman. She is simply a means to an end, so far as Ninsianna is concerned.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The point at which Ninsianna was born, and by extension her age, is not something that can be unilaterally placed at any one moment in time. Rather, she gradually came into being as the rize of society on Earth did the same. In the earliest days, when the most advanced set of guidelines was simply the words of a village elder, she was naught but a primordial infant lying in wait, for the day that she might fully be brought into the world. The day that the Code of Ur-Nammu was laid down, however, was the first day that she walked with her own will. Out of mere abstraction had she grown, as the power of laws and jurisdiction, of structured society and hierarchy bgan to take hold in concrete ways over the lives of men. It is said that a thing holds much more power when it is seen, and to finally witness the law in physical form was a shift which would never be undone.

Most, in the position of one born with perfect bureaucratic talent, would surely use it for their own personal gain. Not so, however, for Ninsianna. Instead, she simply operated as a clerk or magistrate, an innkeeper or even a temple prostitute. The career did not concern her, only that she was assisting in the maintenance of society's continued functionality. It was during these times, during one of her countless days as a priestess at the temple, that Ninsianna met the goddess to whom she would dedicate the rest of her life. Nothing more than a chance meeting, some might say, but Ninsianna prefers to think of it as fate. Enkika, the demon who had shaped so much of civilization, came across the young danava. The two shared much on that day, to a degree that Ninsianna would never think to share. But it changed her, left a mark that she could only ever call a blessing.

Naturally, the dynasty of Ur-Nammu and his sons did not last forever. No empire upon the Earth ever did, and this was nothing Ninsianna particularly wished to change. Could she have? Perhaps. But it would not be a proper use of her talents to simply take control of all history in such a way. If the world was to collapse in the natural course of things, then so be it. But the world did not meet its near end by its own hand. No, it came from the outside. World War 3 was nothing short of cataclysmic for a being so defined by stability and regimented life. She did not care that her own kind had struck such an impressive low. All that mattered was the sense of constant, overwhelming pain that she experienced for decades afterward. There was nothing she could do to stave it off, not when the carefully tailored systems that had birthed her were in a state of total upheaval. And so she suffered, for a great many years.

Even now, Ninsianna feels a void inside of herself. The world had never been perfect, but that was not what she aimed for. All that she had ever desired was consistency, stability, a world where everything fell neatly into its place, abided by the same basic principles. That world was long gone, and yet, the promise she had made to Enkika did not leave her mind. She had sworn to persevere, to overcome, and that was what she would do. When she felt the searing grip of loneliness finally upon her, after so long, she did not accept it. She simply chose to have a child, and cared for it with all the love that a woman like her was capable of. It was during this time that she found an ally, of sorts, in the Grandmaster of the Vandenreich. His aims were ones she could agree with, his principles firm. She had been willing to follow him until everything was done, and she served as his right hand even in the most perilous circumstances

But in the end, he was simply one more disappointment. The Grandmaster’s hubris had overshadowed all else. His efforts were undermined simply by his own overconfidence, and perhaps most gravely of all, the danava he had brought under his wing, who had been the only remaining vestige of the demon Ninsianna had loved, was corrupted. If Ninsianna could not rely on the Grandmaster, she would simply do what she needed. And what she needed, she supposed, was simply to accept that she had clung too deeply to her promise. She had held back her very Origin, her very being, by denying the truth of the matter. She was not a mere priestess, not a mere speaker for the wills of others.

She was the law itself, and she would no longer be trampled upon.

PRINCIPLES OF EQUITY AND TRUTH

○ Origin: Social Order

○ Origin Power: The Origin encompassing everything which surrounds and maintains a stable society, this is a relatively young concept, born at the beginning of written legal codes. Law, social hierarchy, bureaucracy, authority, faith. All of these things are simply aspects of the true fundamental nature of Ninsianna’s being, that being the unifying force of an ordered, structured society.

○ Record Keeper: Put simply, Ninsianna is constantly taking record of all things she experiences at all times. This is entirely passive, and the information is kept within her very being to ensure that her memory does not fail her and corrupt the information. Due to the nature of these records, they may be viewed alongside Ninsianna's personal perceptions, or based solely upon the objective stimuli. For example, were one to examine the moment that Ninsianna was informed Rome had fallen, these would be two very different experiences. Without the lens of her experience, one would need to know fluent Latin to grasp what had occurred, as Ninsianna's own fluency would not be carried over. However, with the filter of her personal experience, one would understand the language perfectly well, as well as distinctly feel her faint disappointment. One may filter the specifics of this as they see fit, ignoring some aspects of her perception while retaining others.

○ Binding Contract: Binding Contract is, potentially, one of the most dangerous abilities one might ever encounter. It is, in theory, quite simple. By creating a contract from her own Origin, Ninsianna is capable of enforcing its terms and conditions to the letter. This Contract is capable of offering payment, punitive measures, or quite literally anything else necessary to ensure it is carried out. This, naturally, does not come without rules of its own.

First and foremost, Ninsianna cannot initiate a Binding Contract with an unwilling or unaware party. She is entirely capable of initiating a Contract with a party who is unaware of the scope of this Contract, but all involved parties must be aware that they are engaging in a binding agreement when they enter into it. If any party is unwilling, unaware, or otherwise incapable of committing to a Contract of their own volition, the Contract is considered void.

Second, Ninsianna's Contracts are incapable of having any direct impact upon those who are not bound by them. This means that, even if one were to default upon a Contract, and this led to their immediate death by way of collapsing building, the power of the Contract would ensure that, however tremendously unlikely and outlandish, no one was injured other than the one who defaulted on the Contract. However, being that a collapsing building would in most cases still lead to an exceptional degree of property damage, this would be an invalid contract to begin with. However, this example was simply to illustrate the nature of this rule.

Third, Ninsianna's Contracts must have exact, enforceable demands. One could not create a contract that read, "I will become stronger in 6 months, or I will die," but one could create a contract which read, "I will gain enough physical strength to lift one metric ton by any means necessary within 6 months, or I will die." In the event that a Contract is written without specific and definable boundaries, it is considered void.

Fourth, unless a clause is given which specifically allows for it, a Contract may not be ended prematurely by any party, including Ninsianna. This means that there is no escaping from enforcement of a Contract except through death and reincarnation. This reincarnation is key, as if one were to simply return to life, the COntract would still bind them. In the event that any party bound by a Contract dies and reincarnates through the Soul Cycle, the Contract is voided for all parties.

Fifth, a Contract made by Ninsianna need not take physical form, but any Contract made verbally will still have a physical copy created for her records. All parties within a Contract must abide by the same format for said Contract, however. That is to say, for example, that one party could not agree to a Contract verbally while another signed a physical document. Should multiple parties engage with a Contract through different formats, it is considered void.

Now that these basic rules are out of the way, the actual effects of a Binding Contract are rather simple. All parties who agree to a Contract are not strictly compelled to act in accordance with it. Any breach of the Contract, however, is immediately noted by the Contract itself. This is because, upon acceptance of a Binding Contract, the Contract immediately links to the souls of all parties involved until it is fulfilled. Should a party lack a soul, or have a soul which cannot be reliably and consistently attached to, Ninsianna is unable to create any Contract which includes them as a party.

Enforcement of a Contract's terms is handled not through any action of Ninsianna's, but by pulling as much power as is necessary for its enforcement from Nidhana. This is due to the Contract itself not simply being something created by Ninsianna, but acting functionally as an extension of the Origin itself. That is to say that the enforcement of the Contract is, in itself, but another part of the Danava of Law and Social Order, and as such it is created when its concept is invoked. This amount of power is rather exceptional, obviously, and is even more so when compared to what Ninsianna is capable of on her own. However, because this power can only be accessed through the enforcement of a Binding Contract's specific terms, which requires the mutual agreement of all parties in the first place, there is little application for it in any combative setting.

ATMA VATOU

○ Ur-Nammu: The embodiment of the permanence of the law and its nature as an unshakeable principle, Ur-Nammu is capable of taking the form of any record-keeping device that Ninsianna finds most useful at the time, from a stone tablet to a modern recording device. Its only ability is to manifest a physical copy of any document or memory from Ninsianna's records, in whatever media form is necessary.

○ Utu: A relatively mundane Atma Vatou, this embodies the crucial nature of punitive action for the maintenance of proper order. This Atma Vatou manifests as a set of up to 5 discs, each bearing a simply four-pointed star, and roughly a foot in diameter. Each disc can freely move around the space surrounding Ninsianna, up to a quite impressive radius of 5km, and is capable of firing a ray of condensed energy directly from its center. These rays are variable in power, but have an upper limit of power equal to one fifth of Ninsianna's theoretical maximum destructive capacity. Any number of the five can be attached into an array of sorts, and used in tandem to fire a single ray combining their power. All five, thereby, would be capable of firing a ray which achieved Ninsianna's full possible destructive potential.

○ Uru-ka-gina: The embodiment of the transience of individual laws, customs, and social contracts, Uru-ka-gina manifests as a grand red chisel, easily mistaken as some sort of actual weapon. In a sense, it is indeed a weapon, and seeing as Ninsianna can freely manipulate it without touching it, one shouldn't treat it lightly. However, its actual true ability is to enforce an Edict onto an object or area. An Edict, simply put, decrees that something is now either “Allowed” or “Forbidden.” This is an incredibly versatile ability, but because of the nature of this as being tied to an Atma Vatou, unlike her Binding Contract, the capabilities of these Edicts cannot exceed the scope of power that Ninsianna herself is capable of. For example, if she were to enforce an Edict on a metal pipe that Allowed it to break through defenses, said pipe’s abilities would be ineffectual against defenses unilaterally more powerful than Ninsianna. Similarly, if she enforced an Edict upon the area around Uru-ka-gina that it was Forbidden to create fire, only fires with a potency above Ninsianna’s capabilities could be started. Only one Edict is allowed to be in place at any given moment.

The broader an Edict, the more difficult it is to impose, as the nature of Social Order is built on specific and rigid guidelines. Edicts which have far more elaborate and clearly defined rules are far more difficult to break, while those with broad scopes may well have no influence on anyone other than the weakest beings around. For instance, an Edict which specifically made it Forbidden “to move above 70 miles per hour in the direction of Ninsianna” would be far more powerful in the area of effect than an Edict which simply made it Forbidden “to move above 70 miles per hour,” and both would be stronger than an Edict which made it Forbidden “to move faster than Ninsianna.” Additionally, because the purpose of law is to stabilize, rather than to destabilize, an Edict must remain in effect for 10 minutes before she is allowed to change it to a new Edict.

PATH OF EMBRACING

When entering into this Focus State, Ninsianna's appearance does not notably change. She is capable of maintaining this Focus State for a rather significant amount of time, nearly indefinitely, though any usage of her Binding Decree will immediately cut the duration to a maximum of 5 posts, after which she is unable to utilize the release again in that thread.

○ Binding Decree: As the more refined and more potent form of Ninsianna's existence, the ability of Ninsianna to fundamentally bind others to a contract temporarily reaches a much more dangerous level when she ascends to this Focus State. During this release, Ninsianna is capable of enforcing the terms of a singular Binding Contract upon the area around her, to a maximum area of her energy's fullest scope. This Binding Contract must follow all of the stipulations of any other Contract, but carries with it three exceptionally noteworthy differences. A Decree is, naturally, incapable of enforcing its terms upon anything which happened before it is made; after all, one cannot break a law which has not yet been made.

The first of these is that, unlike the Binding Contract, consent of the other party is not required. A Binding Decree, unlike a Binding Contract, is not a willing agreement between two parties, but a command handed down from one who embodies social order itself. However, because the purpose of a law is to be followed, those who are impacted by the Binding Decree must still be informed of its terms to the fullest extent, or else Ninsianna simply has no ability to enforce it.

The second of these differences is that the Binding Decree, unlike the Binding Contract, does not have the capacity for influencing multiple parties in a different manner. Everyone in the area of the Binding Decree, including Ninsianna herself, is bound by the same law laid down by the Binding Decree, and should they break the terms laid out by Ninsianna, they will be punished equally, without bias.

The third of these differences, and perhaps the most crucial one when utilizing this ability, is that a Binding Decree cannot be laid out which simply condemns any of the parties within to punishment on account of their "state of being." That is to say, Ninsianna would be capable of decreeing that anyone who enters a release state will die, as that is an action. However, she cannot state that anyone who is within a release state will die, as that is not punishment for an action, but rather for their state of being.

Comments/Notes:
The usage of the Binding Contract ability is something that will be watched closely due to the severity of consequence its usage could have. Due to that potential severity, the character will be given a Power Hazard Ranking of A. The A in resources is due to having access to the same things as Cyrus, due to being his secretary.

Hazard Rating: B

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
