He killed one of them. That was good. The hollow had hoped the cero to be potent enough to vaporize two menoses instead of one, but that was just wishful thinking. He wasn’t strong enough for long death rays…..Yet.
Still, he might get that third kill at this very moment, because it seemed that the “shield” will not last very long.

Like agreeing to him, the gillian foot-soldier in his hands stopped twitching. That was good. What wasn’t good was its body slowly heating up. At this point, after witnessing so much bullshit, he knew that it wasn’t going to be anything nice even before the cryptic voice started to hint on what might happen.

He opened a garganta beneath his feet and slid in the void before the menos had a chance to explode. Standing in the nothingness Heart had an opportunity to analyze the situation. It kind of sucked. He had enough energy to open one garganta, use one “Tyrants fist’” and create about two semi-decent ceros, and maybe harden his skin a few times.
At this point, a smart hallow would run. But he couldn’t do it. From an intellectual standpoint, Heart was sure that the other creature could also use a garganta, meaning he wouldn’t be safe no matter where he’d escaped to. From a not so intellectual standpoint, The hollow couldn’t leave because of his pride. Calling himself a complete idiot, He opened his last portal that brought the gillian back to the menos forest…..or slightly above it.

He looked down from the roof of the forest, taking in the sights and coming to the conclusion that things up here were as dull as down there. Good to know. The hollow looked down at the clearing from where he had escaped. Heart couldn’t tell how much damage the suicide-hollow caused. What the gillian saw however was a four-armed menos that was jittering and clawing the ground like a junkie who had forgotten where he’d put his crystal meth. Not a welcoming sight.

He thought about attempting to shot it from above but the chance of hitting it was low. Plus Heart wasn’t sure how long he could keep the garganta open. He needed something that the hollows couldn’t avoid. Like…..a smile appeared beneath the mask. Like a heavy, fast object full of kinetic energy. The gillian had never tried to fill his body with it. How hard could it be? Heart thought.

He concentrated and filled his flesh full of reishi and quickly changed it to the aforementioned kinetic energy. The hollow felt stiff. Slowly Heart dropped himself out of the portal. He fell fast, like really fast. If succeeded he’d reach the forest’s floor in an instant creating a destructive shockwave that would create massive damage to anything in the clearing. The gillian would end-up in the middle of a huge crater feeling completely sore.

NIZE SPLIT

Nize needed a moment to process what just happened. Even with his superior intellect and database of hundreds, if not thousands, of different hollows he needed a moment to process.

When he had filled the gillian with extra energy and issues a command to its reishi to self-destruct it was expected that the thing will either notice it too late or get lucky and throw their shield away in time. What Nize didn’t expect was...That.

As Heart disappeared in the ground and its meat shield exploded, taking another menos with it, Split was convinced it's the last he had seen of the gillian. In theory, he could attempt in tracking the creature down but all this wasn’t that important to really do it. This wasn't an experiment of such a big meaning.

Then the air shivered and vibrated, both Nize and the mutated gillian looking up in the sky, as the garganta open high up above them.

”What…?”

The gillian was there, next to the roof of Menos Forest, looking down to them with his impassioned white mask. And then jumped.

Nize managed to react just fast enough to pull the sand his throne was made of around him and harden it into a durable shell. The male felt the vibration and the telltale sensation of losing another of his minions. A pity, he almost put the effort into mutating that one. The arrancar quickly dismantled the shell back into its original form, a mix of being upset and awe almost filling him.

There was a big, black splatter that once was his created mutant on the ground under Heart, other gillians had also been pushed to the ground, awkwardly trying to get up. Nize really needed to improve these things. Some trees were cracked and half-way shattered while the ground itself didn't look any better.

And in the middle of this chaos was the gillian to blame, sprawled and probably in a lot of pain. The unpleasant feeling had started to coil in the arrancar’s stomach, but he just ignored it in favor of considering what to do next.

”Are you broken? Is your spirit slowly fading back into the sea of black nothingness? No? No...”

And even as he spoke these words in the menoses head the gut-churning feeling just got stronger. He waited till Heart got properly up before grabbing control over all of the remaining gillians, five in total, and the dead bodies still littering the ground.

”Gillian class menoses are probably one of the most fluid creatures between the hollow race. They can fuse and diffuse easily. Like clay.”

All the bodies, as well as the still living specimens, became almost liquid in substance, as they were dragged in front of Nize’s self-made throne and molded, shaped. Overlapping cries echoed once again and then seized.

In front of Heart was a creature twice the size of a gillian with a disproportionately muscled body, claws the size of a human and five holes in the middle of its chest. The neck and head were fused together, similar to a gillians, but where it should have one mask there were ten, some in pieces, other half-way fused together and others completely separate. A black gash split the head almost in half and seemed like it served as the beings head, as a huge cry of pain left its void.

The creature attempted to grab Heart with one of its hands and, if successful, squeezing hard enough to reduce whole cars into nothing but flat plates of metal. If that failed, though, the creature then would attempt ramming into the hollow, probably crashing its whole body, if without any defense. Then, depending on where its prey is, the giant would then jump in the air and try crashing its whole mass on the gillian.

I’m no bone expert but…. The hollow thought as he slowly forced his body up. I doubt that they are supposed to make so much cracking noises.
The gillian was battered and covered in bruises. Standing was a challenge by its self. He felt extremely light-headed, which was never a good thing and the hollows regenerative abilities had taken most of his leftover reishi.
Scrap everything I said about hardening my skin a few more times. One cero and I’m packing.

Unfortunately, it seemed that this was the moment when his enemy had finally decided to get serious. After another speech in Hearts mind what finally sank in the fact that the overpowered vampire emo can also use telepathy (which wasn’t surprising at this point, though it felt completely lazy because it had a perfectly functional mouth) the remaining five menoses combined into….something.

The gillian looked in ave at the few thousand pounds of murder instead of doing something smart like dodging because of this mistake the amalgamate grabbed his hand and started to squeeze it with so much force that the bone inside it got quickly turned into toothpicks.

Heart screamed in pain as panic started to spread in his body like poison. It was a sound heard regularly in the forest. Usually made by dying hollows. He had listened to this song of death many times jet the gillian never believed himself to one day sing it.

Just like in the cave Heart was left with two choices. To die and be consumed by someone more deserving of his power or to rise and fight, and live on. All thoughts of morality, humanity and sympathy were pushed to the back of his skull. They were not needed for now. He had made his choice.

The hollow roared as he would begin to infuse most of his leftover power in the piece meat that had been grabbed by the much larger creature. The gillian wouldn’t attempt to break free. He had something much more drastic in mind.

What did you say about turning reishi unstable? Heart said in his mind knowing that the other was probably listening. You should’ve just kept your mouth shut asshole!

His hand would start to break down and leak out reishi before blowing up and damaging the other monster. Then free the gillian would’ve infused his right claw with the leftover energy and tear it in the bigger hollows neck before it could ram in him.

At this point, Heart would be probably be completely spent. Jet it wouldn’t stop him. Especially if the way to recover his energy was standing in front of the hollow and looking at him with its five pairs of stupid eyes.

Like a piranha, he’d leap in the creatures face and tear piece of the collective mask with his teeth. Than the gillian would consume the reishi and pull his hand out of the hollow. Preferably with a chunk of its throat in hand.

No…...more…...distractions. Heart would say to the arrancar.

NIZE SPLIT

Boken. Shattered. Nize watched as the gillian got up again and unpleasant feeling spread in his stomach, crawl in his throat and made it almost impossible to observe the situation. The hollow was obviously reaching its last bits of energy. Regeneration had stopped healing and you could see how all of its movements were careful and unstable as if its bones would be made of glass.

As the arrancar observed the scene, his mutant against the, on the comparison, tiny hollow it hit what emotion Split was experiencing. Guilt...Stomach wrecking guilt.

From the very start, it was clear the gillian had no chances of winning. Nize was ten times stronger, if not more, then the hollow. He had the power to create armies just from his imagination.

Guilt again climbed up his stomach, but he just ignored it. The experiment was close to finished.

The explosion brought Nize's attention fully back to the battlefield. What he did with one of the gillians Heart had repeated. It seemed that they shared more than similar ancestry.

Before his mutant even managed to attempt to retaliate, its five tiny brains confused on what is happening, the gillian had leaped and sunk its claws into the confused beast's neck. It was impressive. Did an impressive amount of damage. But that's it. Nothing more.

With the combined power of five gillians, the mutants regeneration was much higher and each cut made on him would try to seal itself closed almost instantly. And then the giant being would attempt to grab Heart. Grab him and smack its victim against the ground multiple times, crushing bones and even vital organs with no concern, no remorse.

But if that happened, if the creature was successful, the cold voice of Nize would snap.

"Enough."

The mutant would seize, dropping the battered hollow on the ground and become motionless.

Meanwhile, Nize reverted back to his sealed form, the horns crumbling to broken stumps in his hair and eyes gaining the cold, mechanical blue while the body covering in a shredded, black cloak. The arrancar would land next to the gillian, his voice laced with a hint of something.

"Keep fighting like this and you will grow stronger. I own you an apology gillian."

A square garganta opened in front of him then and Nize left, before brushing his fingers just long enough to channel some of his reishi inside of the hollow and keep its regeneration going. As he disappeared the mutant fell apart into five dead bodies of gillians and five living but confused ones. Like they always do, the creatures gathered in a group and just stood there, quiet and mindless.

Heart watched as the arrancar stepped in the garganta.
Whait! He wanted to say jet the level of exertion made it simply impossible. Even as his regeneration had kicked in the only thing he could do was to meagerly twitch his fingers towards the other creature. The portal closed leaving the gillian with his spoils of war and the unbearable feeling of humiliation.

He'd lost. Even worse he'd lost without landing a single blow. Why was he alive? In hueco mundo the strong ate the weak. It was the natural way to which even he obeyed. And yet that man had left him alive. Was it because Heart wasn't even worth the sustenance!? Obviously, since it could create beings like him with a snap of a finger. It had just left. Leaving behind its creations that were dead or stood there without even trying something. A little pity present for the effort that he'd put in.

Slowly and extremely painfully the hollow stood up and gazed upon the forest with broken eyes and a burning fire in his stomach. He will get it for this. For HUMILIATING him to such an extent.

Heart cracked the fingers on the only hand he had since the other had been reduced to a sizzling stump. Another reminder of how much he'd paid for the stronger beings entertainment. It still hurt like hell. The gillian had sacrificed his own arm for a victory that was out of reach since the beginning.

Next to him, the five menoses stood there like a bunch of puppies that couldn't figure out what to do. He gave them one look.
Scram!
Then the hollow would go collect the menos grande he'd rightfully killed. This meal passed without the usual joy of a successful hunt. Heart just stood and savored every piece of humiliation. The gillian swore to himself that he would not rest before had become strong enough to defeat.....
Suddenly he froze. Heart opened his mouth and told the first complete sentence since regaining his sense of self.
That fucker didn't even bother to tell me his name before he tailed!
