Just A Moment [Shintaro/Kintori]
Mon Apr 27, 2020 1:40 pm
THE BLIND KUCHIKI
For weeks he had heard an unusual set of footsteps throughout the manor, since Keiko sustained her injuries specifically. He felt guilt for not really speaking to his cousin since the incident, lost track of her progress as his days were full of work, rest, or going about with other affairs. He silently figured he should go check on her at some point, hopefully without making her uncomfortable.
But as of now, he was walking the hallway of their home, until he heard that foreign set of footsteps ahead of him once more. He came to learn she was Kintori Shihoin, the one who injured Keiko in the first place. Though he wasn't fully versed on the situation, he assumed she felt some guilt for her actions by how often she came by. Shintaro's demeanor was calm as he walked towards her, facing his head in her direction and speaking in his typical soft tone,
"..Hey, Shihoin. May I have you for a minute or two?"

KINTORI SHIHOUIN
It had been a little over a month since Kintori had been assigned to Keiko as an aide. Being one of the last things her father had said to her, Kintori dared to not defy his wishes, so she was stuck with what she was doing while Keiko recovered. Her days normally consisted of waking up at the Shihoin estate before the sun rose, making her way to the Kuchiki manor, helping Keiko with her everyday needs, then going home once the sun sets. It was difficult but Kintori was used to difficult. What she wasn't used to is the fact that she was making very little progress with bonding with Keiko. The girl was a tough nut to crack but Kintori couldn't really blame her. After all, she was the one that put her in a wheelchair.
Currently, she was in the hallways carrying a tray of food. Not really seeing a reason to, Kintori hasn't really gotten around to speaking to any of the other Kuchiki. There was no point, she was there to repent not to make friends, and it's not like many of them wanted to befriend someone who injured a family member. In their position she would have done the same. Which is why, when she was approached by Shintaro, she was perplexed. There was no other Shihoin around, at least to her knowledge, so he must have been talking to her.
"Uh, can you walk and talk? Keiko's up for lunch and I don't want this getting cold before I get to her."

THE BLIND KUCHIKI
Shintaro heeded her request to walk and talk, the man nodding, a small smile on his face as he would walk alongside her, however his gaze never seemed to meet her direction. In technicality, it did, but there was no way the woman would know that. Shintaro knew she had harmed Keiko, but he couldn’t boil hatred within himself, especially for an incident that was largely accidental. The fact she was aiding in caring for Keiko without much complaint only further convinced the Kuchiki that harboring anger for her at this point would be pointless and cruel. So instead, he wished to be one to show her some form of acknowledgement and support, such an incident was hard on everyone involved.
“How have you been doing?” He spoke softly as he walked, his gait relaxed and focused, “Have you been getting enough sleep? Are you eating well?”
Shintaro would sigh softly, shutting his eyes for a moment, “..I don’t mean to pry, I just wish to ensure you’re taking care of yourself, physically and mentally.”
