A Moonlit Walk [Calypso/Claire]

"Man, it's gettin' late.."

Calypso's patience was wearing thin, a yawn escaping her lips as she put another small sweet pastry with some sort of cheese filling, the young demon finding the flavor appealing as she held a bag of a random assortment of pastries. She was trying new sweets, as well as just trying to eat more physical food in general. She wasn't fucking around in Romania for no reason, oh no. She had heard about Sueki, a race who had inhabited earth, of which she honestly wasn't too familiar with, having possessed the country after a meeting between her mother and a woman whom was identified as a leader to them.

Though she didn't pick up many details, what she had heard had gotten her interested in meeting at least one, especially considering her future desires of bettering relations between demons and other races. Getting familiar with the other races was the first step of many to her dreams, but she was willing to go all the way. But as of this day, it was getting rather late in the night for her, the moon shimmering down on her as she walked a stony path. She knew at the very least that Sueki weren't normally out during the day, so she had taken to go about looking around sunset, but her search was a bit on the fruitless side for the one she heard about.

"Hmm, maybe today isn't a good day to look for her..."

Disappointed, the young one decided to take a break, hopping onto a low lying wall to sit, staring listlessly at the starry sky as she ate the next sweet, though she cringed and spat it back out, "Yuck. Never getting these weird sour or bitter fruit ones ever again..."

It had been quite a while since Claire had simply taken a walk through the streets of her city. She had been rather busy as of late, seeing to all of the affairs of the Sueki, and setting Romania on a course of improvement, both culturally and financially. In fact, she was expecting to meet with a few rather important leaders within a few days time. That being the case, she had decided that tonight would be a good night to give herself a bit of a breather. While she loved to devote her time to the betterment of her race, she had to consider her own well being, and the constant work was beginning to drain her stamina.

The warm summer air felt nice on her skin, and as the sun sank deeper in the sky, Claire felt a sense of peace that she hadn't experienced in quite some time. Her appearance tonight was quite the deviation from the norm, but it suited her current feeling. Lately she had been feeling a rather motherly affection for her race, and it was clearly evident.

As Claire continued to walk, she felt a faintly familiar feeling. It felt of Mana, but was clearly different. Perhaps a lingering residue, or some other sort of remnant. Curious, she began to follow the emotional string, which led her through several alleyways, and once more onto a main street. She found herself walking towards a young woman who appeared to be sitting alone, with no real obvious goal. Claire's path of approach brought her directly behind the young woman, and from this vantage point she overheard a singular comment. She wrapped her arms around the young one in front of her, and leaning in closely, whispered a short sentence.

"Sometimes that which we most need is bittersweet, yet the richness of that which we do not draws us in, so very temptingly."

After saying this she let out a small laugh, different in timbre than her usual.

"Welcome to Romania, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay."
