» Shikai Appearance: The two swords of Tenmarin transform into two 1.5 meter chakrams that idle at Elyss’ sides. On her right hovers a chakram with jagged edges that are curved similarly to a chainsaw, acting like deformed teeth. On her left side hovers a chakram without a blemish along its edge, a blade so sharp that it seems to cut the light that reflects from its surface. Each charkam has a hollow base with only about four inches of handleable surface and four inches of the actual blade. The right chakram has a red color scheme to its base, while the left is blue.

» Shikai Abilities: The shikai of Tenmarin revolves around the usage of the two chakrams. It takes the form of a hybrid between a wind-type zanpakuto and a fire-type zanpakuto. The jagged chakram possesses the fire qualities and is known as the right wheel, the fine edge chakram possesses the wind qualities and is known as the left wheel however Elyss' zanpakuto's true nature is limited by her lack of control.

Remote Control
Despite the appearance that Elyss actually controls these chakrams this is not actually the case, she can only remotely control one while the other is controlled by her zanpakuto spirit. She can force them to swap which one they can control but she doesn't possess enough experience to control them both initially. This has the upside however that despite being unable to control one at any given time even when she is incapacitated and weakened, even unconscious her zanpakuto can persist on operating due to Tenmarin's influence.

Right Wheel - Asura Blood Excitation
The main application of the right wheel, this ability causes the chakram to work in the same method of Elyss’ Sealed Power. However, it drains Elyss of her mental facilities instead of sapping her strength. That means that her Focus skill is being subtracted to further enhance her Shikai’s ability.

Representing Elyss’ desires to defeat her enemies, the right wheel slowly degrades Elyss’ hesitations and thoughts until she is only capable of thinking about one thing: killing. Whenever the Right Wheel leaves her side, this ability automatically activates whether she is controlling it or if Tenmarin is controlling it. Per post away from her, the Right Wheel grows in sharpness and speed by 10% after the initial post the Right Wheel is sent away. Every third post after the first, Elyss’ Focus skill drops by one level, her ability to focus on her objective waning until she enters a berserk state at untrained Focus. At this point, the Right Wheel cannot grow stronger and is solely resonating with Elyss’ current mindset, attacking anything and everything in the immediate area around her.



Left Wheel - Preta Soul Stagnation
The Left Wheel of Elyss’ Shikai exists for the exact opposite reason of the Right Wheel. Unlike the Right Wheel representing Elyss’ murderous tendencies, the Left Wheel represents her desire to protect those around her. It is also a troublesome feature of herself for she prefers to stand in front of everyone, needlessly endangering herself. Thus, the Left Wheel’s main ability is to redirect spiritual energy away from others and towards Elyss, devouring any nearby spiritual energy indiscriminately. This does have a range, such being 10 metres in a radius away from the Left Wheel. As long as the Left Wheel is away from Elyss, she proves incapable of utilizing her own Spiritual Energy and must rely on her own skills or the Right Wheel by her side.

Shikai Weaknesses:

Lack of Control:
Elyss is incapable of controlling both Chakrams at the same time due to their yin yang behaviour towards one another. However, Tenmarin being able to control one allows for both Chakrams to be active at the same time. This could prove detrimental though. Tenmarin and Elyss are one in the same in a way, but they do not always see eye to eye, proving that Tenmarin may commit to an action that goes against Elyss’ desires. Examples include manipulating the Right Wheel against Elyss’ wishes, pushing her closer to losing control of her mental facilities or by making her incapable of using any Spiritual Energy by moving the Left Wheel away from her.


» Why: To be honest, this should have been done a long time ago, but now that Elyss has retrieved her Zanpakuto once more, I feel it best to get this out of the way as a starter for her upcoming character arc revolving around her Zanpakuto.
