I. Basic Information

» Affiliation/Rank: Answers only to Shirohime. Associates with the Vandenreich for her sake.

» Physical Appearance Image:

II. Personality Traits

» God Complex: Without any exaggeration, nor any sugar-coating, it would be flatly false to describe Mazda without first calling attention to what could only ever be described as a god complex. Mazda believes himself to be truly divine, the physical embodiment of Ahura Mazda on the Earth. To that end, he carries himself with the dignity and serenity that should befit one like himself. Everyone upon the Earth, nay, all of creation, is naturally below him, for he is nothing short of the avatar of the Creator himself. Of course, one should understand as well that, as such a divine creature, he would never deign to brag about his place in society. Modesty and wisdom are the greatest signs of true glory.

» Perfectionist: To say that Mazda expects perfection would be the greatest understatement one could make about him. He demands it absolutely, from both himself and from his associates. If something is not perfect, then it is Mazda' own duty as that singular perfect being to assist in bringing it to its highest potential, and he will gladly devote himself fully to such a cause. Everything in the world can become truly and completely perfect, if only the means are brought to it. If he must be the one to bring those means, then so be it, and if he must grind the face of the inferior into those means, well, it is simply his moral duty.

» Unflinching: Without a doubt, the single most defining thing about Mazda is his complete and total dedication to achieving any goal which he sets for himself. Mazda refuses to accept any form of failure or defeat, will never surrender, and has little to no concept of a job left only half done. For nearly a century, Mazda did nothing but train, honing both his body and mind until he collapsed from exhaustion or hunger, and upon doing so still forced himself to reach sustenance or a proper place to sleep. Put simply, when Mazda has genuinely, truly committed himself to a course of action, there is not a force short of death which could keep him from seeing it through to the end.

» Vain: Mazda's refusal to accept anything less than the best from himself may give him an undeniable force of will, but that does not mean it is without its downsides as well. Mazda refuses to look anything less than his best, to perform any less than perfectly. By and away the quickest way to make Mazda lose his composure is to actively harm the self he presents, be it through giving him a poor reputation or simply making him look bad in even the most minor of ways. Mazda aims for perfection, after, and to try and ruin that will make you into his enemy.

III. History

Please see this thread for the full context of Mazda's birth.

He was not born, but stolen away from the fragments of a corpse long rotting. He ought never have existed, and yet was called into being time and again. His existence was fueled by powers which ought never have been touched to begin with, and yet they were touched nevertheless. What once was a man and yet divine is no longer; he is now only a god. Birthed by the advancement of his own divine existence, and given no option but to purge himself from his own mortal coil or face annihilation, Mazda has found himself separated from any sort of mundane life. He is no longer a form attached to Cyrus ast-Auramazda; he is simply a being who exists all his own.

Weakened, linked still to a body which is surely doomed to collapse by the simple merit of lacking any true existence, Mazda knows that his time is all too short if he does not succeed in his aims. Yet he has been given his freedom, given life. He will enjoy them however he pleases, for he is a divine given form.

V. Natural Abilities & Skills

» Divine Form: Once, Mazda's divinity was nothing more than a simulacrum, an oddity in his spiritual nature which marked him as divine despite his mortal coil. However, Shirohime has changed that entirely. No longer is he some ordained man, but now a genuine divine through and through. A false existence which mimics the Soul King in nature, Mazda is not treated as any race for the purposes of his interactions with others. Be it human or quincy, or any other being, abilities and other interactions which rely upon specific race will only ever treat Mazda as a divine being.

»Kvahrenah: The splendor of all divines, it is of course only right that Ahura Mazda himself have the highest radiance of all. Mazda's spiritual energy has mutated drastically in accordance with his loss of humanity, to such a degree that it can scarcely be called the same sort of energy at all. While still very much spiritual in nature, Mazda's energy is no longer mere reishi, but something higher in form. While still treated as spiritual energy, its power is treated only as divine. As such, the only techniques which are capable of directly interfering with it are those not only intended to affect spiritual energy, but divine power as well.

Additionally, the natural world will not inconvenience Mazda, for his presence enforces his own vision of the natural order. Unless he so chooses, winds will not buffett him, the sun does not beat upon his brow, and rain will never so much as touch a single hair on his head. Even the most extreme forms of weather, be it hurricanes or sandstorms, will leave him untouched. Naturally, this no longer functions against weather effects caused by the abilities of others.

»Yazata: Divinity in itself, Yazata is not an especially noteworthy ability in and of itself. It is simply the unique nature of his spiritual energy, that which marks him as something more than a mere man. While once it was his False Divinity, the False nature of it has been denied by Shirohime, purging his humanity alongside it, and now he has become something akin to the Soul King in nature, if something of a simulacrum rather than a true replication.

The true usage of this is in Mazda’s ability to impart a small fragment of his divinity into others, granting them, too, the mark of Yazata. Of course, this does not make them every bit as divine as Mazda, for such an accomplishment came only of his own unique nature. Rather, when Mazda marks another with Yazata (which must be accomplished willingly, and through physical contact), they gain two unique traits. The first is that, for the purposes of any ability Mazda uses, those imparted with Yazata are treated in the same way as Mazda, meaning they are often protected from the most overwhelming traits of his abilities. The second is that, through that small spark of divinity, Mazda is capable of speaking his Avesta through them, using them as something like a divine radio to communicate his will across great distance. This effect still uses Mazda’s energy, and is still wholly his ability. This simply changes the actual location of said energy and effects.

»Combined Sentences: While difficult to parse to normal ears, Mazda has developed a rather peculiar form of communication through spiritual energy. Put simply, he is capable of communicating through his spiritual energy as though it were a radio, applying the principles of his Waveform Energy to their next logical step. He is capable of maintaining up to four different lines of speech through this, and is capable of using it both for actual communication and for the purposes of his Avesta.

VI. Aspects

Mazda has multiple aspects which he is incapable of shifting to, forms which embody fragments of his power that he simply does not use. They are listed here only in name, and should Mazda see fit to imprint one of these aspects upon one marked with Yazata, the specifics would be determined at that time.

»Mazda Atar - Mazda of the Flame: Held by Cyrus, as Kouroush Atar.

»Mazda Aban - Mazda of the Waters: Unused.

»Mazda Zam - Mazda of the Earth: Held by Helle Armstrong, as Kelheh Zam.

»Mazda Asman - Mazda of the Sky: Inaccessible.

»Mazda Saoshyent - Mazda the Savior: Inaccessible.

VI. Avesta

Having ascended well beyond the realm of mortals, Mazda's very voice now carries power over energy well beyond the control some might ever hope to achieve. By constructing a manner of speech that perfectly resonates with these energies, courtesy of his own wave-form energy, Mazda is able to simply will his abilities into being with no more than his own voice. Each letter of the Avesta, in itself, carries its own power, but as with all forms of speech, it follows laws and rules which must be followed. If Mazda does not create a full sentence, then naturally his words have no power. Individual letters, in much the same vein, have no power on their own. While once limited by his own mortal existence, Mazda is now a divine being wholly of his own accord. Avesta cannot harm a mortal body which does not exist, and as such, Avesta will always function at the same tier as Mazda.

The first rule of Avesta is arguably its most important; the degree of intensity a sentence carries. There are several levels, which impact how much energy is manipulated through the sentence. These degrees are as follows:

» Kiafa: A sentence spoken with Kiafa as its marker of intensity is not simply a sentence any longer. It is a command to all reality that a divine has ordered. His False Divinity echoes through the world to a degree most could scarcely comprehend, and it is no exaggeration to say that the scale of this sentence’s spiritual power may be so immense as to overwhelm those with weaker souls. These are sentences which create the backbone of Mazda's own constructed mythos, those words which grant the wishes of his dear followers and restructure the very world around him. When a sentence is begun with Kiafa, all of the energy Mazda might possibly use is condensed into that single command. As such, Mazda may only use a Kiafa sentence once per thread.

» Yasra: While not nearly as all-consuming as as Kiafa, a sentence which begins with Yasra is one that still carries import to Mazda. It is one he delivers with intention of personally seeing its effects carried out, and which he refuses to delegate to others. The energy contained within a Yasra sentence is several orders of magnitude below a Kiafa, but it nevertheless is something to be feared. Sentences of this caliber may only be spoken once per post.

» Presia: These are what might be called “mundane” applications of Avesta, though of course the sheer nature of this ability makes that sort of title incredibly relative. Sentences spoken though Presia are Mazda's standard attacks, and could easily be compared to similar attacks made by any other being of his power. The only limit to their usage is how much Mazda is capable of speaking.

» Nanna: Unlike the others, Nanna is not simple a matter of Mazda's intensity in what he says. Avesta spoken with an intensity marker of Nanna is spoken with the express intention of its power being lessened. Because of his own power, the scale of Nanna varies wildly, but its application is generally only for a single purpose, that being to deliver an attack (or other effect) to an opponent which is at their level, rather than his own. Much like Presia, Mazda's only limit on these attacks is how many he may speak.

» Nil: Avesta spoken at the level of Nil is universally ineffectual, regardless of the extent to which Mazda applies any further words to it. The reason for this is rather simple; he needs to ensure a sentence can be spoken to others without potentially catastrophic effect. This is usually for the matter of teaching others, or informing them of what he will do, as Avesta is not a language for communication with others, but rather the world.

The second rule of Avesta is that each sentence must carry an object. A subject is not inherently required, due to the subject of Avesta always being Mazda himself unless explicitly modified. This object is not required to be specific, as in most other languages, but rather simply focuses on the direction of Avesta's effects. If desired, a specific modifier to the object may be added for clarity, but as Mazda has full control over the specifics of a theoretically-vague object, this is, for the most part, unnecessary.

» Rhean: “Myself.” A sentence with its object as Rhean will target Mazda himself, and no one/nothing else. This typically includes mostly abilities which would improve his own strength, but epending on the foe he may weaken or damage himself for their own sake, as well. The single fat of the matter is that, so long as the sentence is in some way applicable or achievable, its effects will target none but Mazda.

» Mean: “You.” While the term “you” tends to be specific in most language, in the context of Avesta it is treated simply as any other person than Mazda. This sentence will target whoever Mazda intends it to, though it will always be one single person. Should he wish to target a group of other people, this word is modified slightly, from “mean” to “meas.”

» Fulln: “The world.” The third possible object of Avesta, Fulln does not change the entire world inherently, nor the nature of it. Rather, this simply entails a sentence which does not change either Mazda or his opponent. The environment, rather, is what is affected. Much like is the case with Mean, the specifics of this object are left to Mazda's intentions rather than the words in themselves. Unlike Mean, there is no plural form of Fulln, as the environment, even multiple aspects of it, are treated as a singular entity.

» Combinations: Should Mazda wish to target more than one of the three object categories with Avesta, he is able to do so by combining the words into a single object. These words are:
-Rhemean: Mazda and a single target.
-Rhemeas: Mazda and multiple targets.
-Rhefulln: Mazda and the environment.
-Meafulln: A single target and the environment.
-Meafulls: Multiple targets and the environment.
-Rhemeafulln: Mazda, one other target, and the environment.
-Rhemeafulls: Mazda, multiple other targets, and the environment.

» Un: “Nothing.” A sentence spoken with Un as its object will not have any tangible impact on anyone or anything. It is functionally nearly identical to a sentence spoken with an intensity of Nil, but with one distinct difference; as the words still carry power, even without a target, spiritual energy will still be expended.

» An: “All.” The opposite of Un, this sentence will carry its effects to anything touched by the energy of it. Unlike Rhemeafulls, which is still under Mazda's control when it comes to specifics, a sentence with An as its object is truly beyond even his power to manipulate further. It will carry out its effects indiscriminately, and as such a word spoken with An is almost universally a catastrophe.

After the object is spoken, the next words will always be the specified target of the current Avesta. He need not speak this if the sentence shares said target with the previous sentence, only if the target has changed. Following this, the true words which carry power in an Avesta sentence will take their place. These words, unlike the intensity marker and the object, do not carry inherent meaning, but rather combine the effects of their composite letters. Because of this, the meaning of a combination of letters is rather open to interpretation, a contextual meaning which borders on the subjective based upon the current situation.

The letters of Avesta are as follows:
-A: Life
-E: Darkness
-I: Self
-O: Spread
-U: Mind
-B: Destruction
-D: Heaven
-G: Fire
-H: Power
-K: Protection
-L: Death
-M: Thunder
-N: Wind
-P: Compassion
-R: Water
-S: Good
-T: Creation
-Y: Empty
-Z: Evil

A few example sentences are shown here, to demonstrate the potential applications of Avesta. It should be noted that this is by no means the full extent of his lexicon, and that the only limit to a sentence is what Mazda could achieve through his energy, as well as his own ability to speak these sentences.

-”Presia meas dholl porta.” (You are to be destroyed by this wake of holy power, that my love may wash over all things.) This sentence would fire forward a blast of holy energy, a fairly straightforward attack which would only move to harm its intended target.
-”Kiafa meafulls akot kauba nop.” (All things before me, let you be protected from creation, keep your soul from death, and let the wind of my compassion wash over you.) This sentence would shield those Mazda intended from harm, and would grant them a significantly increased ability to stave off death in the event of severe harm, though obviously fatal wounds such as the loss of a head would not still be escaped.
