ENTER THE WANDERING DEMON
Artist: SilvaGunner - Song: Hip Shop
Cyrus spoke once again with such an authority that the devil had never experienced until this day -- to some effect, it stirred a primal emotion that seemed behind his own comprehension, all of it lasting for but a brief moment, ending as quickly as it came, subtle and faint as shivers down the spine. And as of this, Kokuto fell silent, processing the man's words.
On one hand, he was right, it was a problem that lay with them and their prejudice. But, on the other, it was his own choice to become who he was. Even if he had long since accepted what he was, there was still a stinging rebuke that others possessed, even if he had no stake in the devastation that seemed to split the world asunder.
His gaze turned to the ground as he folded his arms over his chest, his eyes lost in contemplation, once again processing the brief speech that came from the man. The singed, resonant voice of the demon was soft as he finally responded, breaking the silence. His head lifted to look the Grandmaster in the eye as his arms fell back to his sides, slipping into his pockets. "Demons, Humans, Quincy -- none of 'em are all that different when it comes to their sins. But, can't really blame them. People need an outlet to direct their hate 'n anger. Part of me thinks that I should be their outlet, maybe to better prove that I'm not a monster, to prove that...I'm still as human as I used to be."
Kokuto let out a shuddering sigh as he finished, fishing through his coat pocket and pulling out a cigarette from the pack. Snapping his fingers, he ignited a small flame on the tip of his thumb, lighting the stick and taking a long drag from it.
He turned his head away from Cyrus to keep the smoke away, his breathing quickly returning to normal. Even during his earliest days as a demon, that thought still ran through his head: his desperate cling to whatever was left of his humanity after seeing the worst of the very creatures he had become.
