His hollow shuddered, Vait was frightened of her. It wasn't a situation he could blame the hollow for. His own hands trembled as he looked at the creature. He'd not be getting any situational guidance this time. He touched Vait's shoulder and inhaled, survival was now the game. It took him back, the first time he'd met Zefonse Kaizme. The feeling of impossibility, just the raw unfathomable situation. He'd certainly stepped into the situation here. She'd kept up with him easily, his prided Hoho had been more of a parlor trick. She got there before him, red flags were everywhere. His breathing was off and the pain was intense. He didn't have time to react, nothing fancy would work. Concentration had been shot, his body was hit by this spinning gale. Right into his stomach, the twisting speed and power of the blow.
It shot him back like a rocket into the wall. His digits still clasped his sword as he laid there. Feeling damage done to his stomach, several broken bones, and internal bleeding. A lost arm, he could no longer go halfway with this. He couldn't worry about laws and things like that, he needed to expand energy. A lot of energy to recover from these injuries. And he had to do it now, nothing less would work here. His questions were moot points and he laid there still. Her will was crushing and daunting. He'd felt sweat dripping down his spine and that was just being in her presence.
His breathing stopped for a few moments silence, as he laid there regaining some form of reality. His hand twitched and reiatsu flared around him. Quickly his arm began reconstruction slowly skin and bone began forming as he coughed blood coming out. His mind went towards a single thought, he had to protect Vait and Bakagiri. His determination began burning hotter, he needed to press back against this tsunami. It wasn't going to push much back, but he couldn't let those within down.
He'd spent a substantial amount recovering from his internal injuries and his arm. He'd been in the process of restoring it. Whatever she'd cut him with, made it even harder to regenerate. Almost like it actively fought it off, causing considerable pain. Bringing his sword arm upwards, he put a hand on Vait's shoulder within. Together we must face this trial, I brought us to this. But I won't let you face her alone. This is my doing so I will stand and face the brunt of it with you.
His mask began forming around his face as his hollow energy came out stronger. He would take stock of his injuries, hoping to speed them up. Bringing his sword up, he inhaled a breath. It hurt to breathe, damages inside still requiring energy to recover. But he could control his breathing again, if not for his regeneration and spending energy into it. No small amount either, he'd still be on the ground. His eyes had turned the color most found within, the black and grey energy moved around him almost like wearing armor.
He had to rely on his skills, he had to survive this. He couldn't let Vait or Bakagiri pay for his mistakes. He'd bank his entire body and every bone he had on protecting them from this Tsunami. Even if he felt fear inside him, even if he felt like he stood before Fenrir and was a mere mouse. There was no alternative, laying down wasn't his way. It wasn't something he'd ever face Damien saying he did. He'd not face his Squad or Abalia saying the Captain of Combat was a coward, he put every inch of heart and his being into it. Even though they were still likely not enough before her.
