Psychological Analysis

Kenichi is a fierce and passionate man whose nature can be viewed as either humorous or imposing to those who meet him. He is a man who operates in the world without shame and does not linger on a failure or loss or even a regret for any more than a day. He despises the idea of regret when the present always presents an opportunity to amend your past transgressions.

Living life to the fullest is the true aim of life and simply sitting on one’s ass waiting for a blessing or life to grant them respite, Kenichi is a man who would grab lady luck by her titties, squeeze them, and demand that she give him all that life has to offer. His is truly a will made of iron. To be anything less than legendary is a crime against his own nature. His overwhelming passion for life manifests in him exploring life and the many curiosities that come with it.

As a result, he embodies the sort of shamelessness and degenerate nature that Futsunushi preached in his own life. Fight and eat good food. Fight and drink fine wine. Fight and sleep with beautiful women. Fight beautiful women. To those outside the walls of his wulin culture, those notions would seem rather wild in their nature but Kenichi values them, viewing these philosophies as yet another aspect of “savoring the passions of life.”

He is not a man who will be held up by his fear. He is intelligent enough to understand there are certain lines that shouldn’t be crossed and has a personal sense of right and wrong, of the justice he should upheld as a cultivator. He welcomes being an example to those younger while he respects his elders and spars with his peers.

If he feels that the weak are being mistreated, he will not stand idly by and let the culprits go unpunished. If he feels that his elders are being disrespected, he will not hesitate to strike someone down even if they are a fellow cultivator, though he would never kill them, preferring instead to show them the error of their way.

He also has an appetite that is the equivalent of a third-world country. His belly is a black hole. He loves to eat. He loves to eat delicious food and if he can receive delicious food from a beautiful youthful woman or an elderly woman who has cultivated her culinary skill for years, he has reached the realm of heaven a thousand times over.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Kenichi was born in Tokyo, Japan, on October 24. Although born in Japan, he was not entirely of Japanese descent. He was born between the union of two cultivators who shared a vacation together in japan. His mother descended from the Kishima clan, one of many branch families from the Kensei Clan. Senhime Murata, Kenichi’s mother - a wild and passionate woman by nature - decided to name him Kenichi Murata, after her favorite manga series. Kenichi was an accident baby, truth be told.

Senhime was a shameless pansexual who welcomed the idea of open relationships and would lay with anyone that caught her fancy. It just so happened that one time out of many, her fancy came back to bite her in the behind. Even so, Senhime adored her little boy and treated him as any well-meaning mother would. Once Kenichi was born, Senhime traveled between China and Japan.

His childhood years were spent between training in China and vacationing in Japan during the summer. Life was quite eventful for the two of them and Senhime occupied a special place in Kenichi’s heart. She was the symbol of everything he wanted to aim to be in life.

The seasoned cultivator never complained about any misfortune life threw at her nor did she cry foul whenever she lost a duel. She moved along with life as if the bad luck thrown her way was a natural occurrence.

To start him off on his path of martial prowess, Senhime initially taught him various martial art forms and postures, and constantly placed an emphasis on working from the horse stance.

Even though he was still a child by this time, she didn’t force him to endure any training his body couldn’t handle. When he wasn’t practicing form posture or stance, he was exercising his body and practicing his lightfoot technique as early as nine years old.

Even though his mother tried to bring him along slowly, Kenichi was a quick learner and completed every initial obstacle she set out before him. When he reached fifteen, Senhime decided it was time to go beyond the form and stance stage, welcoming him into the realm of Kyoka cultivation.

As Kyoka revolved around a single technique rather than multiple, the deciding factor in how Kenichi would evolve and master cultivation as a Kyoka practitioner essentially boiled down to his physical endurance, his willpower, and commitment. If he couldn’t gain a handle on those, he’d only ever be a first step cultivator in her eyes.

She would be proud of her boy regardless of the results. And yet, Kenichi not only defied her expectations but shattered them entirely. Even though he found time to enjoy large meals prepared by his mother, his years were focused on training his body to handle each and every aspect of his dantian - or in his case - Ling and how it would transfer through his battle technique.

She had always advised him to manage everything carefully and so he did. He would engage in spars with fellow cultivators and test his mettle. He experienced his fair share of losses at the outset, but so as his Kyoka cultivation continued to improve, so too did his win record.

Within time, he gained a reputation as a fierce fighter who gave it his all in every battle - The Relentless Dragon. His mother always lovingly referred to him as Kung Fu Kenny and so, he preferred to proudly wear that title whenever he set out to fight different opponents.

His peers would even give him the name of monkey boy for how much of a nuisance he could be on the battlefield, often prolonging his defeats through sheer force of will. By the age of 25, he had fought his fair share of cultivators, each stronger than the last.

It was by that age wherein he found himself within the realm of martial prowess where his mother could hardly teach him anything else. Having mastered different aspects of Bājíquán, Xingyiquan, and Wing Chun, along with a pronounced mastery over his Kyoka cultivation, she felt it was time for him to travel the world and spar with stronger opponents.

He had reached the rank of Gold 1. By now, her training would no longer be a benefit to him now. She would always go out and provide him with Lingshi Crystals if he so desired but she had nothing else to give him in the realm of martial prowess or Kyoka. In a sense, he was his own man now.

With enough money to travel around the world, Kenichi set out on a journey of self-discovery and to improve upon himself as both a man and a cultivator. Initially, he had made note of how certain countries in the world had been seized by organizations he didn’t have a full grasp of, and so he simply decided to turn the clock back to where it all began. Japan.

He was entirely happy to find that there were elite warriors - who could erase him within the blink of an eye - protecting his country. He wanted to challenge them but he could never really meet any of them in person, and so he did well to simply face those who would engage him in a spar and be content with that.

His travels would eventually bring him towards Minatumi Harbor. From the moment he stepped into the city, he felt a sort of light washing over him, energy that wrapped him up in a warm embrace and filled him with a hope of better days to come. From that moment, he was drawn to the mystery of that energy and the city itself.

There were cultivators who would visit the city and though he tried to challenge them, they would turn it down in favor of wanting to face a woman known as Ulv Auber - the mayor of Minatumi. Ulv Auber? Compelled to see what the allure was in fighting the woman, he chanced upon seeing her handily defeating another cultivator who had decided to spar with her, healing them in the aftermath.

Ulv was a captivating woman in his eyes, in both appearance and sheer martial prowess. It was then he could see why there were cultivators who aimed to challenge her and test their skill.

She stood at a precipice he felt he didn’t know he could reach in a thousand lifetimes, let alone one. He simply could not control himself or the urge to challenge her immediately. And so, he did. He stepped to her after she had found time to be alone and challenged her to a spar.

Even though she suppressed much of her ability and kept her own skill at a level that could be considered slightly better than his own, he had been unequivocally outmatched. Perhaps to one man or another, that would be a mark on one’s pride but to Kenichi, he had experienced true bliss.

He had experienced many losses but Ulv represented a nigh-unreachable height he desired to reach with every fiber of his soul. She was a force to be reckoned with and he would never look at any opponent in a different light ever again.

Even though he had lost, the woman commented on his potential and the fun she had from the challenge. She healed him and told him he was free to challenge her again.

Of course, Kenichi took her up on that offer and for much of that span of a year he spent in minatumi, he challenged her and experienced many losses, but not once did he regret a single one. Each spar with her was a mixture of frustration and excitement. Ever unpredictable, ever an enigma, she was a joy to spar with.

He marveled at how she seemed to cycle through five different styles. In each of their bouts, she presented a new style plucked at random from her brain, reducing his ability to get used to her movements. She occupied a source of inspiration for the young cultivator.

Rather than keep himself bound to the three martial disciplines whose aspects he had mastered over the years, he would aim to add more layers to his own fighting techniques.

Fighting her had even led him to contemplate ideas about having a home somewhere in Minatumi but after that time of divine joy he felt fighting the woman of his dreams and the lofty height he desired to reach, those spars he loved so much… had abruptly stopped during his visits.

He could no longer find the resolute woman who had filled his days with wonder. It was almost as if it was a dream. That energy that danced over the city ceased to be and somewhere deep in his soul, he was certain he’d never experience that type of joy in his life again.

Even so, he would not allow himself to regret the time spent. He lived on pushing forward no matter what obstacles were thrown his way. He would honor her memory by moving forward and if he ever did see her again, even better! He bought a home somewhere in Minatumi that he could visit or relax in during his moments of respite.

From there, he continued to travel the world, seeking to learn different forms of martial arts and explore every avenue, incorporating Ssamsu Taekkyeon as a tribute to the mighty woman who opened his eyes to expanding beyond the horizons.

To him, his story had only begun and if the years prior had shown him anything, he was in for one hell of a ride.

NATURAL/RACIAL ABILITIES

Physiological Peak: Anyone can claim that they are at their physical peak but very few can truly show it through their body or their mastery of movement. It takes years of training and exercising the body and spirit to truly claim one has mastered the movements and physique of their form, even more so to say one is at their prime. Kenichi can claim that right entirely. Years of training his body and cultivating his martial prowess have forged a body that is as resolute as steel. Flesh and bone though he may be, anyone who fights and strikes at Kenichi will immediately notice that his body can withstand immense physical damage and seem unphased.

That is not to say he can withstand every physical blow, but if one strikes at him half-heartedly, they will not reap the benefits they desire. He has trained his body and fought in many battles to a point that simple punches and kicks might as well be the equivalent of a fly on his skin. He is truly the epitome of hit me with your best shot.

To truly throw him down in a physical matchup, they must strike beyond more than his body, as internal damage would serve them well. Anything else and the enemy will invite him unleashing a fierce counterattack that will leave them staggering nine times out of ten.

Along with his physical attributes being in prime condition, Kenichi’s stamina presents yet another form of an advantage he can rely on, though this is mostly in the realm of physical matchups.

Possessing a body at peak condition allows him to keep going in a fight for hours. Even so, such a feat is dependent on how much energy he has to exert. He is rarely seen as out of breath unless he’s truly moving at speeds or motions that go past his own physical limits.

Elite Martial Prowess: Along with a body akin to steel, Kenichi is a prolific martial artist - a true legend in the making. He has studied his craft for the better part of his childhood and teen years, cultivating his form and posture throughout the years and mastering each step of his Kyoka, forging himself into a formidable warrior that knows no equal.

He has studied many styles but will often place a heavy emphasis on coordinating his movements, executing explosively fierce strikes that can overwhelm his enemy and force them into a corner. Shifting between attacking or defending on the fly, he is always in motion, graceful as though his body is an immense wave that follows the rhythm of the battlefield. He always attacks with certainty and never foolishly rushes in to leave himself open to a counterattack.

He has mastered the forms of many martial disciplines and is always open to exploring his avenues. One principle tenet in Kenichi’s philosophy on the battlefield is to never be predictable. Standing at the precipice of the elite, the sky is only the limit for him to become a true legend of the world. He needs only to move forward on his path to see that reality come to fruition.

Elite Lightfoot Proficiency: Never one to leave stones unturned on his path to glory, Kenichi has spent the better part of his teenage and adult years learning how to master the nuances of lightfoot, applying them to his own form of combat. Although he hasn't mastered every aspect of his dantian, he has built upon each experience with the skill, tempering it like a blade. As of right now, he has mastered it enough to be considered elite as his speed now goes far beyond that of even your most profound superhumans.

Earth-Grasping Step: During his spars with Ulv Auber, he bore witness to the use of her Earth-Grasping Step. As a man who was left awed by most of her fighting skills, the earth-grasping step stimulated his mind the most, and so he asked the woman if she could teach him anything he could replicate outside of her martial arts. Their time together was limited, of course.

Ulv was a busy woman who knew many people so asking for complete tutorship was out of the question. She tutored him when she could and Kenichi took things from there. He has the basic movement properties of the Earth-grasping step but the next step is learning the more advanced applications of a complex technique.

Hakkyokuken(Lit. “Eight Extremes Fist”): One of the most favored styles in his repertoire, Hakkyouken(Bājíquán) is a chinese martial art that favors explosive power from a short range. Known for its elbow strikes, it is a fierce martial discipline that requires a strong physical core to fully reap the benefits. Offensive by nature, Hakkyokuken emphasizes explosiveness in it’s art form, and it is from the explosion and fast movement that a practitioner can overwhelm his opponent and bring them to his or her heel. Kenichi has cultivated this art within his repertoire and stands at the level of a master who could open his own school if he felt the desire. His physical might and the quick, explosive nature of the eight extremes fist dance in tandem with the other, making him a warrior who can devastate his opponents before they even have a chance to begin the battle. Combined with Touki and Kyoka, he is truly among wulin’s finest. He has a list of Hakkyouken techniques he has learned or studied or were passed down through generations.

Shinirokugoken(“Heart, Intention and Six Harmonies Fist”): Another martial discipline - Shinirokugoken is a Japanese translation of Xin Yi Liu He Quan, a branch of Xingyiquan developed in the Henan province of china. It is considered one of the most powerful and fighting-oriented styles among other Chinese Martial Arts, and has a reputation as being a cruel fighting style within the world of wulin. It focuses on short, fast and powerful movements to neutralize the opponent. Kenichi primarily prefers integrating this style within his Bājíquán, sharpening his profound repertoire like a blade. Though a branch of Xinyiquan, Kenichi can utilize Xingyiquan and Xin Yi Liu He Quan, borrowing elements from both.

Wing Chun: Highly favored and beloved by Kenichi due to his pronounced respect for the legendary Ip Man and Bruce Lee - Wing Chun is a chinese martial art that relies on self-defense as one of its central tenets. It was a martial discipline created as a means for smaller, weaker fighters to defend themselves against the advances of larger foes. Utilizing "chained" hands and leg techniques, fast footwork and strategic thinking, enabling one to defeat any enemy, big or small.

As a rule, Wing Chun practitioners adopt a tall thin stance, with their elbows tucked close to their bodies and their arms and hands placed strategically to protect their vital areas. This stance allows the fighter to guard against opponents advances, and then quickly counter with fast, devastating blows to their opponents weak spots.

Movement is kept to a minimum, with the fighter pivoting on their feet to keep themselves facing their opponent head-on. While low kicks and sweeps are utilized, high kicks are generally discouraged, owing to how vulnerable the practitioner is left to counterattack.

To Kenichi, he welcomes the style as something that requires him to act from a different stance and set of techniques, to be on the defending end rather than overwhelming his enemy with a flurry of blows.

Ssamsu Takkeyeon: A fighting style incorporated as tribute to the many spars he shared with the mighty Ulv Auber, Kenichi decided that even if he could never see her again, he would honor her memory by learning from his past experiences with the strong woman who captivated his mind through her sheer martial prowess. As such, he has incorporated Takkeyon into his many martial disciplines. As a result of recently acquiring the nine-yin manual she produced for those who wished to learn her techniques, he has practiced or learned some of her techniques.

Lightfoot:

|Technique List|

Senshippo(“Flashing Arrow Step”): Senshippo is a technique that utilizes the element of surprise to its most ideal advantage. The purpose of this deadly offensive is to conceal your presence of movement, thereby leaving the opponent defenseless against the full force of your strike. This fearsome technique leaves little room for error. To execute it requires only uttermost concentration and relentless cunning.

Utilizing the Moving stance or “Left leg to left leg mode”, Kenichi takes a slight step forward with his left leg serving as the base of the technique. This stealthy step-in allows his movement to go unannounced, thereby concealing the intent to attack. Only an opponent who possesses a sense beyond the superhuman level would be able to catch the lightning-fast transition from intent to action.

Sliding forward with his left leg, Kenichi disappears from the opponent’s line of sight, appearing before them like a predator ready to seize his prey, his swift hand the claw of ruin crashing down to tear his target asunder. Not only does this serve to catch the opponent off guard, it allows Kenichi to conceal his intent even at point-blank range. After all, how can the opponent predict an unpredictable attack at such a short distance? At that moment, he moves from a left Four-Six Stance to a left Bow-Arrow Stance. This stance transitions one into a position where Hakkyokuken can exert its greatest power – the explosive short range. With strong step-in using Zhen Jiao(“Charging Step”) the power of Kenichi’s strike is increased exponentially.

The dynamic force of the powerful step-in alone sends Kenichi’s fist barreling forward like a large boulder launched at high speed, targeting the enemy’s heart. This ferocious heart strike is equivalent to a grenade exploding in front of one's chest, and due to Kenichi’s physical prowess, it is capable of killing a warrior in an instant, though such scenarios are largely dependent on the opponent in question. Once the mighty blow connects, the opponent is sent back by an unprecedented twenty meters, their body flying through the air like a strand of hay.

The sheer, unforgiving force of this attack can tear apart the thoracic cavity of the opponent’s body, pounding the opponent’s lung and heart into nothing more than a mesh of meat. Should the strike hit anywhere else, for example, the shoulder or stomach, the damage becomes widespread, severing all connection to the opponent’s meridians, crushing the bones of the adversary's body.

Tetsuzanko(“Iron Mountain Lean”): Striking in from long or close range, Tetsuzanko can be used to evade the opponent in a defensive manner or strike them offensively at close range. By performing a crouching turn-step with the right leg, Kenichi charges the opponent with his right shoulder. Like many of the techniques in the Hakkyoukuken repertoire, it is executed from a close distance. The speed of the turning step adds momentum to the shoulder charge, allowing him to close the space towards his opponent in a fraction of a second. With the addition of lightfoot or and Kyoka, the turn-step’s collective range can be increased, and the transition from the turning step to the shoulder charge makes this technique highly difficult to evade.

Upon collision, the opponent will suffer a variety of damages depending on where contact was suffered. If he has struck the enemy’s midsection, an opponent will find his ribcage broken from the impact; To take it a step further, the explosive power behind his strike can tear through skin, causing an even more gruesome wound to appear.

If he goes in for a strike towards the chest, the damage is then applied to the organs causing irreparable harm to the body which can lead to them suffering a myriad of fatal effects such as but not limited to; internal bleeding, organ failure, and heavy vomiting.

Unlike Senshippo, however, it cannot completely kill the opponent with a single strike. Using the technique defensively, Kenichi prefers to go on the defensive, allowing his opponent to take the initiative. Once they've taken the bait, if the opponent executes a forward punch with either hand, he nimbly slides past the opponent’s left or right side and executes the powerful shoulder charge with unrelenting ferocity slamming against them like an anchor hurled at startling speed.

Senkyutai(“Drilling Bow Thigh”): Praying Mantis technique. While not particularly revered for its strength, Senkyutai can be praised for its evasiveness in hand-to-hand combat. It is initiated by dropping to the ground, as the user rolls forward at immense speed. The distance of the roll is determined by how much force Kenichi places into his momentum during the dropping motion. Rolling his body forward at twice or three times the speed as normal causes his body to gain velocity.

At the moment of execution, Kenichi instantaneously pushes off of the ground with his hands, sending his body flying through the air. Launching his body high into the air, he performs a powerful upward kick in a single motion. The speed of this technique is equal to that of a bolt of lightning, springing forward from the ground. Using the momentum from the push-off adds kinetic energy to the upwards kick, thereby adding even more velocity and force to the strike.

The impact of the kicking strike is so powerful that depending on the power she gains from pushing off the ground - as well as the kinetic energy he gained during the upwards motion - he can catch an opponent in the middle of their own attack – an enemy charging towards him or launching forward for their own strike, for example – and not only disrupt their attack, but destroy the enemy's skull upon contact by transferring the accumulated momentum directly into his legs.

Utilizing Kyoka during the upwards blow, he can add even more collective force around his feet, thereby giving it enough power needed to shatter the opponent’s skull. Of course, the technique can only ever reach it’s true pinnacle through momentum and is usually launched from a distance that is slightly longer than he is accustomed to.

There is a variant of Senkyutai in his arsenal - Tenshin Senkyutai. Whereas Senkuytai features a singular foot strike, this technique is completed with a consecutive series of foot strikes. There are two versions of this technique. The first is performed once again, by pushing off with his, launching himself forward through the air for an upwards kick. If the first connect, good. If it does not, he performs three high forward kicks to the opponent’s face, applying the maximum amount of force to the consecutive string of attacks. To add more firepower to the technique, Kenichi executes a flurry of powerful, high-speed kicks then two forward high kicks to the face for good measure, sending the opponent flying off into the air.

Byakko Soshoda(Lit. “White Tiger Twin Palm strike”): Byakko Soshoda is relatively simple in execution and does not require a concise stream of thought to perform. As is the case with all of Kenichi’s close combat techniques, distance poses no threat towards his execution of the technique. This technique is usually performed and executed against a charging opponent, most favorably enjoying its advantage against armed opponents, though whether they have a weapon or not is inconsequential.

If they do happen to possess bladed weapons – swords, knives or other bladed weaponry for example - Kenichi can simply grab the weapon with his hands and pull them forward, executing the twin-palm strike in a single, fluid motion. With opponents who possess no such weapons, if they charge towards him in hopes of punching him, he can simply preempt the punch and execute a simple two-handed pushing motion strike at the level of their abdomen.

The damage inflicted from this technique is not generally aimed towards killing the opponent; it is frequently used to disorient the enemy and distort their plan of attack. The force and ferocity of the two-palm strike are dependent solely upon how much force Kenichi places within his palms. With maximum force, he can send the opponent flying. If they happen to slam against a tough surface, like a dense tree or a thick wall, they will feel as though their entire body was hit by a freight train at high speed.

A phantom effect from the collision is the sensation of feeling as though oxygen has left their body, making it difficult for them to breathe properly. Though it is not a killing strike, the technique is useful for creating a lag in the enemy’s movements as they recover from the attack.

Chouzan Housui(Lit. “Decaying the abundant water blossoms”): This technique, like most found in Kenichi’s Hakkyokuken-arsenal, is used to catch the opponent at unawares. In application, it is relatively easy to perform, and also boasts significant damage with a direct hit. Much like most of his techniques with Hakkyokuken, this is used solely for mid to close-range combat. Where the hips and feet are the predominant point of articulation for each strike in Hakkyokuken, Chouzan Housui is performed using the hips as its axis.

Performed as a preemptive attack against enemy opponents, Chouzan Hisui distorts the opponent's sense of range whilst executing a mighty blow with so much power brought to bear, that the opponent can do nothing but wither in fear at its might. From a range of two to three meters, Kenichi observes the enemy’s position, intent, and body mannerisms.

Once he has analyzed and inferred these three factors, he takes a long step-in forward with his left leg to gather momentum and makes great note to keep his arms held back before the strike, instead choosing to gain kinetic energy by twisting his hips, using the weight and speed of his body. As his upper body turns, both of his arms follow suit, culminating in a two-handed fist strike directed at the enemy’s mouth and abdomen.

Executed at superhuman speed, these two punches are capable of destroying the enemy’s ribs and jaw on impact. Normally, this on its own would seem relatively harmless for sturdy warriors whose bodies are built for war, but due to the fact that it does not require an extreme investment of time nor major reserves in energy, he can easily end the battle if these two strikes land successfully.

Alternatively, it can be even used as a means of defense in direct confrontations. By simply allowing the opponent to execute a straight punch forward, Kenichi ducks below the arm, and performs the same motions as before, executing the two-handed strike towards the mouth and abdomen. Extreme impact with such an attack normally results in an opponent suffering from organ failure due to the damage applied to the abdomen, broken ribs, and for the mouth, a dislocated jaw, and a damaged skull. Like Byakko, it is not a technique used to kill. On the contrary, Kenichi values the technique for its strategic value and battlefield capability.

Choushinchuu(Lit. “Mind’s peak elbow”) Choushinchuu or Mind’s peak elbow - as it is most commonly called - expresses the perfect unity of defense and offense found in the Hakkyokuken’s vast compendium of techniques. The most ideal execution of Choushinchuu requires that the practitioner acts from a defensive stance; the enemy must attack first meaning that Kenichi must steel himself in preparation for the incoming attack, removing from his mind all extraneous thoughts. The slightest deviation from this crucial step will throw off the technique completely.

As a technique, this counterattack-based technique can be employed in a variety of situations. Much like Byakko Soshoda, Choushinchuu can reap massive benefits against enemies with bladed weaponry. Kenichi matches his enemy stare for stare, observing their breathing, presenting an opening for the enemy to attack him.

At the moment the enemy charges in heedlessly with weapon in hand, Kenichi dashes in utilizing Kyoka - enhancing his speed with lightfoot - grabs the opponent’s weapon arm, and dives beneath to unleash a powerful elbow strike aimed at the heart. Since the opponent has already resigned themselves to their own attack, it is difficult to recover in time for a proper counterattack.

Moreover, it is nigh-impossible to counter such a strike at close range. Even if the opponent is able to recover from the elbow, Kenichi has no intention of letting up on his assault in most scenarios.

When the elbow strike connects, she keeps a firm grip on the enemy’s wrist, and then, just as quickly, performs a follow-up attack, executing a powerful leg sweep that robs the opponent of their balance by aiming at their supporting leg.

As an extra measure, if these two strikes fail to carry out their purpose, he ruthlessly slams his foot against the enemy's abdomen. From direct impact alone, the opponent will feel as though a large piece of steel was thrown against their body.

The technique is capable of affecting the opponent’s body on both the external and internal levels, damaging their internal organs in the process. Even at half of its force, the opponent would still feel as if both of his arms and legs have been dislocated, and most incapable of withstanding the blow might well find themselves falling haplessly to the ground.

Youshi Saiken(Lit. “Sparrowhawk Chick's Shoulder Plant”): This specific move is particularly useful as a feint against the opponent or simply as a technique that rips through their defenses to perform two strikes in rapid succession. Once again, Kenichi takes the initiative away from his opponent, choosing to attack first. It begins by taking the initiative away from the opponent.

The first strike in Youshi saiken is performed using the knee. The method performed is slightly similar to when a Muay Thai practitioner assault’s the opponent’s ribcage with highly durable knee strikes. Using his left leg as the axis, Kenichi keeps one of his feet firmly planted on the ground, thereby maintaining the balance advantage against his enemy. As this is happening, both his right arm and right leg move into action.

Most opponents may think that his intent is to first due to the movement of his body; in reality, his intent is to fool the opponent into that prediction, allowing him to take full advantage of their naive mind. The moment his arm rises, his knee becomes exceedingly faster and strikes first—towards the enemy’s ribs

The power generated from this strike alone is equal to a large wrecking ball launched at an otherworldly speed. If the first connect, good. If it does not, betray the enemy’s expectations and instantly shift into the second sequence. Therein lies the deception of the technique. If the enemy evades with a slight back step, Kenichi keeps his right leg raised, but instead of relying solely on the knee-strike, he performs an overhead smash with his fist from above by bringing his right leg back to its original spot.

Not only does this take the opponent off guard, but it is also a great countermeasure against evasive opponents, especially due to the fact that Kenichi possesses a long and athletic body. The damage from the knee strike normally ends in the opponent suffering from a set of broken ribs and damaged organs, while the overhead hammer strike towards the head can plausibly crush the skull, given Kenichi’s immense physical strength

Though as a whole, it varies from person to person. If one lacks the proper defense, then they will no doubt find themselves at death's door. And even for those who do happen to take pride in their endurance and durability, recovering from the knee and hammer strike is all but easy. Not only will they suffer injuries such as extreme head trauma, a fractured skull, and a significant loss in perception. With enough power behind it, the strike is even capable of breaking through the skull to crush the brain.

Youhou(Lit. “Hoisting Roast”): Youhou is a technique that leaves little room for error. It is built to take away any possible defenses the opponent has at close range. Using the same form as Chousan Hisui, Kenichi makes it his goal to analyze the opponent’s footing and body.

Once proper inferences have been made, Kenichi unleashes his attack with the fury of a mighty predator, poised to seize their prey. Raising his right leg ever so slightly, Kenichi steps into enemy territory and with a right arm raised high up above the opponent’s head - he performs a powerful overhead smash with his right fist.

The first strike takes away the range and distance between him and his opponent, while the powerful blow launched against their cranium is enough to leave the enemy with a tremendous concussion. All things do not end with the overhead hammer strike, however. The first strike not only steals the range between her and the enemy, but the powerful blow against their cranium is enough to leave a tremendous concussion. It does not end there, however.

Once the first strike is completed, Kenichi immediately shifts into the next, which is a powerful blow with his elbow that should send the opponent flying backward. While it may seem very basic when applied to battle, the instant shift between the first and second strike is enough to cause the opponent to become highly disoriented, completely throwing off their plan of attack.

Nishoukyaku(Lit. "Two Soaring Legs''): Although not a particularly complicated technique, Nishoukyaku is nevertheless a joy to use in battle, especially for those martial artists who love to use their legs. Dragon kicks, baby. Dragon Kicks. The technique is initiated by Kenichi leaping off with his back leg - typically using his Kyoka for added measure - and performing a set of alternating kicks in the air, eliminating the distance between him and his opponent within a matter of seconds.

Hakka Sodousho(Lit. “Eight Triagrams Double Pulsating Palms”): Baguazhang-flavored. A two-palm striking technique highly favored by Kenichi. It utilizes the palms to transfer the momentum accumulated from the practitioner’s body to the opponent in one fierce action, yielding incredible force. The compounding momentum and incredible force from the two-palmed strike are enough to send the opponent flying several meters backward. If there is a technique Kenichi desires to lengthen the distance between him and his enemy, he will typically rely on this one.

Panpu Pon Ken(Lit. “Half Step Crushing Fist.”): Originating from the horse form technique found in Xingyiquan, Panpu Pon Ken is a technique wherein Kenichi launches a punch from a drawn-arrow stance. He quickly delivers an overhead smash aimed at the opponent’s chest, digging into their chest with wrist bent and his elbow facing downward. The end result can lead to cardiac arrest from blunt trauma to the heart, though this relies heavily on an opponent’s physical makeup more than anything else.

Spiral: Some techniques require the use of Spiralling to achieve the desired result. This is used by splaying the arms wide and spinning the body in synchronicity with the spiritual energy used to enhance the style. The spiralling momentum is built up enough to create the required force to use the techniques that require it. This can also be used to enhance kicks with greater speed and accuracy.

Bo-Bup: A movement technique of Ssamsu Takkeyeon, it is a linear dash forwards, clearing distance rapidly to get in range for a strike. It can also be used to enhance a kick using the Step-In momentum, but has a problem with the attack being more predictable due to the constrained path.

Grounding: Some techniques require the use of Grounding for the force. Pushing one’s body and spiritual pressure down into the ground, the power gained from the returning force like a depressing spring let loose is then used to suddenly strike forward, stronger than you could otherwise achieve. Grounding can also be used to increase the physical destructive force of any none-air style.

Axe: A leaping technique, the user jumps into the air and then spins in a frontflip, aiming initially for the head or shoulders of the target, but can also be used when out of range of the enemy. Hitting the ground, the force can create a billow of wind to knock people out of stance or even off their feet entirely depending on the strength of the person, opening them up for other kicks from the style.

Baekdu: A knee attack, it uses Grounding to build up sufficient force, and then launches a knee-based attack, springing upwards to knock the opponent into the air and open them up for other kicks from this style, as well as making an attempt to crush through the guard with sheer force.

Cheonji: Bringing the leg up to be parallel with the rest of the body, it is then crashed down, using the heel to deliver a powerful crushing force from above. This is generally used as a none-leaping version of Axe, and so can produce lesser wind gusts. Unable to truly throw the enemy up into the air, it can stuff buffer them and disrupt their form.

Yī wàn yīnglǐ Sǐwáng: A single-strike stance technique, the user stretches their arms out to their full extent, a palm facing towards the enemy and a fist facing away from the enemy. The body lowers so the palm is in line with the face, and then they wait. Purely a counterattacking style, it can’t execute anything on its own, but once it catches an attack, the stance is locked. While catching an attack too strong can shatter bone and tear muscles, it will not disrupt the stances form, and only after the attack has been launched will the damage affect the user.

Once the palm catches the incoming punch, it clamps in a muscle spasm and slowly pulls back. Once fully retracted, the outstretched fist darts forward, like lightning. Growing faster the more force is absorbed, this can damage the person’s other arm as well from the speed, as well as breaking bones and muscles on impact since the force from the target’s strike is added to the user’s own. A highly dangerous technique for both user and target, it is designed to end the one it is being used against, and so its dangers are generally ignored.

Touki: Literally meaning 'Fighting Spirit', Touki is the solidification of a person's desire to engage in combat. Victory, defeat, even reason are secondary to one's Touki, and while some might have a stronger heart when fighting for something, others have just as strong passion simply for the thrill of the moment. As it is the manifestation of offensive Passion, it requires a minimum of Willpower Advanced to fuel the burning fire that is present.

As a manifestation of one's desire to stove another guy's head in, it is a very offensive-based power, and even if one has the Willpower required to manifest it, there will be nothing to manifest if the person in question is a peaceful type or one that sees violence as a last resort.

Once manifested, coats the body in a pale aura, and enhances the strength of the person, the scale of which is determined by Willpower, but without proper guidance in the form of techniques, even a GM Willpower will only see a modest boost.

Much like one's own passion, Touki is not infinite and can run dry with extended use. The time you can use it depends on the level of Willpower you have.

UNIQUE ABILITIES

Kyoka - Third Grade Glowing, Final Step:

Not all Cultivators cultivate the same way. There is more than the original Tao Chi in the world of cultivation. Such is the way with the so-called ‘Japanese Tao Chi’, known as such because its creator – much less famous than Aang Feng, since lost to obscurity – was born in Japan. Its Dantian operates the same, but is called by a different name, instead it is called Ling. One’s Realm is measured in a grade, from First Grade, at the start, to Fifth Grade at the current apex. The rank within the realm is also changed. 1 is Dim, 2 is Glowing, 3 is Shining, 4 is Lusterious, and 5 is Ascendant.

These are merely cultural differences and have no impact on how the Dantian acts. The only difference in how a Dantian acts is the form. Every cultivator of Kyōka has the same Dantian, which grants no special properties and is slightly larger than Five Flame Pillars, and fills slightly faster as well.

What does have an impact, is how the Dantian manifests. It does not have nine Dantian-powered martial techniques, but instead has one ability, and seven stages of that ability. Kyōka’s Step is a technique that circulates Ling through the body to enhance its physical activity. It is rated from the First Step, which is on par with a Rank 1 Tao Chi technique, to the Final Step, which is the equal of a Rank 9 Tao Chi technique. This lack of offensive techniques has led the cultivators of Kyōka to become superior martial artists to other Cultivators, as they make up for their lack of force, with skill.

Cultivation Techniques:

Silver Rank - Impact Imperfection: Normally, the idea of allowing an opponent to freely strike you sounds like the design of a deranged lunatic, an outright madman to the most, and yet within Kenichi’s hand, it is a mighty tool that can aid him in battle. Depending on how hard he is hit and whether he can temper his thoughts to believe he can withstand any strike, his martial meditation can be bolstered through how hard he is hit - as if the strikes launched against his body are knocking away at his imperfections. It is defensive in nature and only the possessor of a strong will can utilize it with any real success.

Gold Rank - The Celestial Dragon Striking at the Apex: Kenichi’s offensive cultivation technique. It was crafted by the young man out of curiosity during his final years before venturing out into the world to face other fighters. It was a simple concept in nature in his mind - that was, to strike at the center of something, to shift the point and force of his impact into the center of an object or his opponents.

And so, through years of rigorous practice striking at objects and trying to replicate the idea of force transmission on his peers during spars, the technique was born and Kenichi learned to temper its nature over the years since its genesis.

A fulcrum-based transference technique using energy transmission, Kenichi shifts his point and force of impact by striking at the dead center of an object or his opponent. At gold rank, this technique allows him to transmit the force of impact wherever he pleases, so long as there is a medium to transmit his power through.

If striking his fist at a center in the air, he can collect rotational force through his motion, forming the image of Shenlong, the celestial azure dragon in Chinese mythos. The accumulated atmospheric force is then directed from a circular motion into a straight line - a punch through the air - where it is then hurdled towards the enemy at resounding speed.

By and large these are far too high for a character of his age and development. While I understand that he is intended to be well-trained and even prodigious, but this is a skill sheet on par with the original 0-tier skill assignments. He already matches or even surpasses established characters like Yugiri or Shuten in nearly all respects, with relatively little justification for such extreme ability beyond his training under Ulv.[/adm]

Duly noted. I changed them. I put just about everything down to adept and kept what I felt still fits him in the overall scheme of his core character. As he has trained ever since his teenage years, I feel Advanced strength is fair but I have no problems placing that down. I feel given his training or spars with Ulv that Martial skill in the Hand-to-Hand Combat sense could be kept Elite but I can change this too. Overall, I placed all things to adepts and kept whatt I feel matches his overall theme. Wiilling to change anything else if you like, though!
