Homewrecker (Elyss/Murasaki)
Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:06 pm

Elyss Kishimoto | Red
It was a simple letter. Elyss was never one for splendor. She got her point across and usually left it at that, so when Murasaki recieved the note to meet Elyss in a specified location in the forests that lingered outside the Rukongai, she made sure to include that Murasaki should come ready to fight. An open field with nothing but grass blowing in the wind will be their battlefield, and in the middle of this lonely grove sat the redhead. Her twin katana sat in her lap, and with closed eyes, the woman seemed to be lost in meditation. However, Murasaki, of all people, would recognize the stance that one takes when speaking to their Zanpakuto. Something is different about Elyss, but pinpointing the difference would be like staring at a Picaso painting.

KAGAYAKU NO MURASAKI | CAPTAIN COMMANDER
Murasaki's relationship with fighting was a bit of a complicated one. She didn't really like violence, or senseless bloodshed. That sort of thing was just an unfortunate necessity, nothing more than that. But she was still a sword, and a sword was made to cut. To fight. She'd be lying if she said that she didn't feel at home when she crossed blades with another, but when she got Elyss' letter, it wasn't something she especially looked forward to.
They'd never fought on good terms, after all.
Getting outside the Rukongai wasn't that hard for someone of her speed. Out here, where nobody was going to see, was probably the best place that Murasaki could fight. Much as she didn't like to sneak around, she'd kept her zanpakuto's change quiet for a reason. It was an ace in the hole, and even if she was confident the Gotei could beat the Vandenreich, she didn't want to fall to some other unknown foe just because she was cocky.
"I'm here."
It was a less cheery greeting than Murasaki normally gave. This was a less cheery circumstance than she was normally in, to be fair. If this ended up a friendly spar, a matter of training, that was one thing. But she didn't think that's what it would be. Elyss' zanpakuto had never been good news.

Elyss Kishimoto | Red
Moments before Murasaki's arrival, Elyss had already ended her conversation with, what some would call, her eviler half. However, Elyss at this point has grown to look past the idea of having a good or bad. One thing she has learned about Tenmarin: no matter the situation, her Zanpakuto had always been a tool she could rely on, even when she didn't want to. Maybe that's why, after so long, she's able to sit down with the weapon and share a conversation with it, coming closer to what her life up to now all meant. It wasn't until Murasaki addressed her that she left her position, rising with the handle of her Zanpakuto in hand.
"Captain Commander," Elyss greeted, her voice as stoic as always. It wasn't until she turned and looked at Murasaki, crimson eyes steady on the other, that Murasaki would feel the malignant presence of Tenmarin all over Elyss. Bringing up her Zanpakuto, she grabbed its edge with her free hand, holding the blade horizontally. Looking down at it, she made note of her own demonic eyes and sighed.
"What is a Zanpakuto? A tool? A friend? A teacher? Or an enemy?" With her questions asked, she returned her eyes back to Murasaki, whipping her Zanpakuto until it faced Murasaki.
"Right here. Right now. Tenmarin and I will find that answer in our rematch."
