A Fight She Never Won [Akira/Hana]
Tue Sep 10, 2024 4:40 pm
Enter: Hana Aoyama
That last interaction left a bad taste in Hana’s mouth. She was certain she didn't do any good there, and since then, she had only been finding destroyed buildings and fallen allies. Her thoughts went out to Hono, Koga, Josh, Hiroe, Kaito, and Tento, praying that each of them were okay. There was too much happening around her to be able to focus in and find anyone. The lingering and bursting energies were almost painful, so she had to focus on what was in front of her.
Running through what little was left of the maze, even with her senses turned elsewhere, Hana could sense him again. She couldn’t tell where he was; her reikaku working as well as static from a TV with an old antenna. She slid to a stop, looking across the way over a scattering of broken wall and her eyes fell upon Akira.

The hobbling had been exhausting, alongside patching most of the wound on his left leg which that insufferable Shinigami had caused. His energy levels? Depleting. Akira knew that he barely had a quarter left in the tank so to speak, conserving such by only keeping one large beachball of oceanic water floating around him for unseen incidents. The leftover blood was sprawled across each arm, causing growls of pain from the burns across the exposed as the markings were used to contact Vicente, Sabriel, Kurai and Amaranta.
."Bakudō #77. Tenteikūra. I am at the rendezvous point, enjoy yourselves.”
Only for his eyes to trail up and see her, Hana. A brief moment of irony began to wash over his features before moving to pry the mask off, letting it scatter onto debri and concrete, a pained smile twitching on dirtied flesh. The man pushed himself off the wall with an idle limp, speaking a little loudly.
."I expected somebody else....”

It was his energy… This close, she could tell… sorta. Hana’s recognition felt more like deja vu or having a word on the tip of your tongue. When the mask was removed, she knew it for sure. Her expression shifted rapidly, distorting from confusion, to anger, to disappointment. She had hoped to never see him again, especially after their last fight, but she had beaten him then, she could again.
“You should not have come here,” Hana said as she unsheathed her zanpakuto. “I offered you a peaceful surrender once, and you rejected it… For this?! Only to descend upon the Soul Society and slaughter thousands in cold blood?!”

Akira scoffed as he coughed up some blood, letting his released Rivu’s blade rise as his eyes narrowed to the girl. It wasn’t enough to brutalize Soul Society but she still was under some delusion she offered peace, an absolute travesty of indoctrination and everything wrong with the Gotei. The man hobbled a little to the left, glancing about at the scorched terrain and burning plumes of smoke in the distance as the flare of far stronger reiatsu smothered the pair.
."Did you Hana?....What peace did you truly offer me? A distorted trial under this pitiful joke of a system?”
An exhale came to follow.
."Leave Hana, I would advise you check on those you love….”

Another one. If this went anything like the last, Hana would have a hand wrapped around her throat. She would be too scared to try if that happened, and besides, Akira looked horrible. Clearly he had fought someone and somehow managed to escape, or… he killed them. The thought angered Hana and she clenched her jaw down tight. She heard the voice of her inner spirit call out to her.
‘The first time you met this man, you trusted him talked like a friend with a known criminal. The second time, you tried to arrest him. The third, he has clearly fought your allies. He cannot be reasoned with, Hana. He is not like that woman.'
‘I have to fight him…’
‘You do.’
“I will not be going anywhere… My friends, they can defend themselves. I must trust that,” Hana said, gripping her zanpakuto firmly, tightly in her hands. Without a moment’s hesitation, Hana darted forward in a well aimed shunpo, closing the gap between her and Akira in a mere blink. Her sword cut through the air with lethal precision, aimed to slice across his side with a very clear intent to kill him.

There was a brief narrow of the eye, watching her body shift into a blitz of speed as the Vizard raised Rivu in rapid response, though the injury of the leg forced his left palm onto the base of the blade to compensate, yet it buckled. The strike carried through as he stumbled back, feeling the curve of Hana’s strike slash through clothing and create a wound on the upper collarbone.
A sharp inhale saw him stumble a bit, gaze glancing up as he let out a snarl. The right leg having to compensate further for the faulty appendage that was elicited by one of the two Shinigami, though as his words uttered so did two others.
."Nrgh! Hana! Enough….Do not push me further.”
Only for Rivu to utter in a calm tone.
."The tide carries both innocent and guilty alike, do as necessary.”
Though it was briefly lost by the ecstatic tone of Zathrusta whose cackles of manic laughter had been hushed briefly to utter a sentence of enjoyment.
."Bring the pretty thing to heel! I can’t wait to watch that pretty flesh peeled!”

Hana had been right; he was injured. She didn’t want to make this last. She beat him before, right? With him injured, she could beat him again, easily. Hana was determined, and therefore his plea was met with a reverberating roar, a battle cry echoing out from the small woman. She turned on her heel, the gap between them closed, and faced him again. From a lower stance, she brought the tip of her zanpakuto upward toward Akira, the blade aiming to impale the man in the heart and end the battle as quickly, unaware that it would not be that easy.
“Why did you insist on coming back here?!” Hana yelled desperately, a hidden question woven within the one she asked. ‘Why did you have to come back?’ He would have been fine if he just stayed away. What a fool... What a selfish fool!

No.
The left hand raised as a sudden surge of telekinetic energy thrust itself ahead of an index finger, a simple and cost efficient spell as the man uttered the title with no issue nor hesitation. An aim for the ribcage specifically to send her across the ground and of course wind her, it was also an intent to catch the Shinigami off guard to the degree of unhand her zanpakuto.
."Hadō 1:Sho”
He wasn’t finished though, immediately following it up with two fingers jutting upward as another burst of telekinetic energy suddenly junted forward, though aiming for the back of even entirely through the left thigh of Hana. It sped through, manipulated into a blade like motion instead of the usual thrust and a personal favorite of his own, should it hit…Well…It would hopefully eliminate this annoying Shunpoing.
."Hadō 1:Sho. No, Hana….It is you who should never have come here…I offered you mercy at every turn, I fled out of kindness. Now….Now I will use the Gotei’s fear mongering against them. It’s the only language your entire society speaks!”

Hana’s attack was fully halted when a Sho struck her in the chest and sent her back. Her body didn’t hit the floor immediately, but when it did, she gasped as the air was forced from her lungs, and she dropped her zanpakuto. Her body rolled once before she got up to her feet and she ran toward the weapon, needing to rearm herself quickly. However, Akira had no intention of letting her do that and pain shot through her entire leg as something, his kido, pierced it.
Hana dropped to the floor, her chest becoming tighter as the fear began to grip her just as much as the pain in her leg. ‘It hurts,’ Hana thought. ‘Get a hold of yourself, Hana. It’s okay. Just focus.’ ‘I have to move…’ Hana looked to her sword again, trying to ignore Akira’s words as she forced herself back to her feet. "I refuse to let you go again," Hana said, barely standing, the uninjured leg taking most of the weight. She took a step forward and was about to shunpo to her weapon...

."Let me go? You’re in my current now Hana. Hadō 1: Sho.”
He snarled as both fingers diverted to a vertical point as another blade of telekinetic energy was sore through the air, aiming for the other leg as she aimed for the Zanpakuto. Of course it would be the most logical location for a Shinigami to go to after losing the one thing that grants them strength, letting it carve and move in such a way that it aimed to slice through flesh and cloth alike on the back of the knee. This was surgical, purposeful.
."If only you’d have cut me down Hana, then none of this would have transpired. You could have killed me and Soul Society would still stand, countless deaths avoided. Your duty to Soul Society, to such bloated ignorance could have saved it…Now witness…The entire thing will crumble, as a cleansing tide drags your filth into the depth.”
The man hobbled a little closer, a primal sneer radiating from his features.
