A Seed of Hope [Kaede, Violet]

Too gentle? Kaede raised an eyebrow, more in response to the tone she had than anything else. She didn't seem certain of it, but, maybe it was because she didn't know if it was right to feel that way. Then she got the reasoning, and Kaede had a feeling she knew where this was going, especially when Violet said that it was similar to what the guy had planned for her. At that, Kaede found her nails digging even harder into her arm.

It wasn't too hard to see why this Vanyel guy was "too gentle" with her. Especially with how Violet referred to herself -- even if it was too overt, Kaede wasn't a complete idiot. She found herself looking at Violet for a minute, before her eyes went back to the ground, thinking of what to say next.

"Well, I can't really blame him," She started, voice low, and her own tone carrying nervousness. "But, does he...know that? If he's really that nice, he probably just wants to make sure he's not doin' somethin' to trigger you. If you don't want him to do that...why not just tell him?"

Kaede offered a light shrug, lifting her head to look at Violet. "Guys can't read minds, y'know. Be...transparent, 'n tell him what you want. Let him know what's okay, 'n let him know what isn't."

If the guy was really as nice and considerate as she was saying he was, being honest would only help the two of them out.

If she told him, any change would be...fake? Kaede's brow furrowed in response, unsure of how to really respond to that, at least immediately. She didn't understand why it would be fake...until Violet continued. Kaede's head lowered slightly, her gaze turning from Violet to the ground. To some extent...that could be possible. But, at the same time, didn't she just say that the guy was considerate?

It seemed like she had faith in the guy's intelligence, but, she both knew and had even said that guys couldn't read minds. To some extent, she could agree with the sentiment her mom had, but, with this being an apparent problem...did her boyfriend even know Violet well enough to do that?

"I mean, I kinda get it?" She said quizzically. "I guess, before anything else, does he predict you at all right now? How good is he at it?"

Violet going quiet made Kaede worried, thinking she had said more than she should have. It wasn't her place to be commenting on some random stranger's love life, after all. Kaede's idly fiddled with her clothes as they continued to walk in silence, her head perking up when Violet asked about the distance. She took a quick look around, before gesturing ahead of them.

"Just up ahead," She said quietly.

She started to pick up the pace a little, the gentle taps of her shoes against the sidewalk becoming quicker and quicker as she gave herself a once-over while walking, straightening out her clothes while she did.

She honestly didn't really expect Violet to tag behind her the entire way. But, some part of her was still grateful for that. Nonetheless, as she slowed down, Kaede started to give more attention to straightening out her clothes, stopping for a second as Violet asked about her living situation, before sheepishly turning around and nodding.

"Y-Yeah," She admitted. "Just a...friend. Don't want her freaking out about anything. Thanks for helping me, Violet, and...and accompanying me."

She offered a light smile. After all, she couldn't just walk through the door looking like she had just survived a hurricane.
