It was pretty ... amusing the kinds of restrictions that they were trying to put in place. Hnad over all your stuff and your data anything vandenreich related. As if parts of her hadn't just been built into some of the groundwork for lots of things.

Whatever. She handed over what they wanted, and she had been all ready and set. Ready to.... take the step she had been wanting to take for a while. NEEDED to take.

And well. Then things all went to hell. The collapse of the Gotei. Not that she ever expected she'd hear that happening. And then, Liltotto finally showed up. And in the hands of someone she didn't expect. How goddamn long she'd pulled her hair out over that girl going missing. And now she didn't have the authority to go seeing her. She still planned on sending Alastair the designs she'd made up for emergency protective seals. Hopefully he'd have the gall to actually use them.

But something else needed to be addressed too she supposed. And so she followed that familiar tingle of his spiritual energy. Thankfully she was well enough that she didn't need her damn cane anymore, but it was still slow going as she looked for that funky dude.

KLEIN SCHWARZWOTAN

Klein rather liked all the attention he was getting here in the City of Lights, primarily because of his ostensible good deed. Of course, what mattered far more to him was maintaining appearances, keeping up his reputation as an intellectual and a professional. He'd helped the people of the Vandenreich- ah ah, Wahrender, that's right. He'd helped these people more than once, and as far as anyone else needed to be concerned, this was just one more instance of that happening.

Ah. Now was that who he thought it was? In different circumstances, Klein might have practically glided over toward Ehefra with a charming smile, but given his reason for being in the city, he wasn't going to put on such a cheerful face. It wouldn't have exactly been appropriate.

"Miss Kleinmund. Sorry I haven't had a chance to come and say hi, but my visit isn't exactly for pleasure this time."

Her eyes locked onto him the moment he started speaking, and for just one moment, the tired, emotionally-worn out woman before him looked every bit as focused and intent upon him as she had the day that he'd been brought into her Steingruft. Eyes so often bright and pretty as the sky, in just the wrong light, seemed cold and harsh as bare shale.

"I'm surprised that you're still here. I heard that you brought our Sternritter back. Thanks for that." She reached up and lightly patted him on the shoulder, but kept her hand there. Searching his face for a moment as she let her head tilt a little to the side.

And then she smiled, breaking that cold expression. Tired a smile as it was. "Nice to see you when I'm not on duty. I figured you'd be around again, Liltotto is someone I know. Surprising as it might be, we're friends. So when I say 'Thank you'. I quite mean it." She noted, her voice softening and growing a bit more earnest as that seriousness faded away. And of all things, her expression actually brightened. Certainly, that smile wasn't even remotely similar to the one she'd given him back at the lab.

Suffice to say, being an Administrator meant a lot of responsibilities and vigilance. But well, she hardly had any of that now.

KLEIN SCHWARZWOTAN

"It was the least I could do."

Her touch was admittedly nice, though not so much so that Klein felt like he ought to start scheming how to get her out of here. Building rapport was far more important than sleeping around, and besides, he liked Ehefra.

"I'm glad to have helped get a friend of yours back safe, but if I'm being honest, I'd have liked to do more. I didn't really know much about her situation, though, so I thought the best I could do is get her to her own people."

It was easy for Klein to present himself as being disappointed in his handling of the situation; he was, after all, legitimately disappointed. He would have liked to do more, if not for the fact it would have given away more than he wanted to.

"Do you have any word on how she's doing?"

Ehefra nodded her head at that and raised a brow slightly as he went on. She frankly wasn't surprised. Liltotto's condition was certainly a unique one. not that she was at liberty to talk about all that. Still, she shrugged her shoulders. "Beats the hell out of me. I myself am in ... a bit of an unusual situation. It's been a rough year for me. So as it were. I'm not actually the head of the Steingruft anymore. Or in the Vanden.... thing.. anymore." She noted calmly, Before promptly shifting her grip on his shoulder to promptly reel him in to her side, that arm now around his shoulders as she put on a sly little smirk. "So that little prototype I gave ya. I'll be needing that back, ya know.;" Oh she'd certainly not forgotten about that little trinket, and she certainly expected some data from him on it.

Hell its one of the few things she worked on in the vandewnreich that didn't belong to the Wahrund now. Warhund? Ugh, she was going to take a bit to get used to that name.

"So a little heads up, from one professional to another. I wouldn't be surprised if Al decided to offer you a spot in the organization. Maybe even to replace me. Who knows what he's got in mind, but I figure giving you a heads up is reasonable." She noted with a sigh, Staring straight ahead for a moment. "I made that place yaknow. Or well, made it as it currently exists. S'a little weird leaving it behind." She murmured, then glancing at one of the display windows nearby. A little Radioshack with a news cast on. They were still yapping about the gotei news.

"Say. Now that I'm not like.. you know... on duty and all that. Be honest with me. You know anyone who was involved in ... all that?" She asked, turning to look at Klein directly as she did. There was no real expectation in her eyes. Frankly, if she did know someone, she half expected he wouldnt wanna talk about them. But there was, simply an earnest curiosity in her eyes. But more than just that. There was a ...craving curiosity. Something that Klein would perhaps recognize. That there was something ELSE Ehefra was looking for in that question.
