The Wolf Who Cried Boy [Alastair, Lilynette]
Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:05 pm
ALASTAIR EISFLUCH | Grandmaster
It was becoming a more frequent occurrence that spiritual visitors requested an audience with the Grandmaster. He had announced his intentions to the world, after all, so it made sense that these foreign parties would come to the City of Lights and expect him to parley. Of course, most could be dismissed by the countless members of his office fit to handle them, but there were a few that he acknowledged would require his own oversight on.
This wolf certainly met that criteria, so here Alastair was. The holding facility had been created by the Albedochiffren, so he had little reason to doubt its efficacy, but he added a few more barriers of his own before interacting with the creature. Those that would protect anything from getting in or out, and those that would limit the power of anything inside. It was a cautious approach, but Alastair would admit to being cautious when a visitor such as her appeared without warning. Even within the facility, there were barriers between them that would prevent too fervent of a reaction.
“I will start by enquiring after the reason for your visit, Ms Lilynette. If it is possible for you to communicate through this proxy? Given your lack of subtlety upon arrival, I can only assume it was your intention to have the audience with me”

The wolf simply sat patiently, idly turning her head here and there as her pesquisa pinged through the mess of stuff that was constraining the situation. What a whole pain in the tail. The creature had laid down across the flood, chin resting on her forelimbs as she stared idly. Well aware of the additional layers being applied to the situation.
Sighhh. Goddamn, she was so glad she didn't decide to actually come here herself. It itched a little. And as the layers were packed on, she felt a little...dissonance. Not QUITE connected to the pack. And that network of pesquisa that usually kept the packmembers synched up weakened thanks to this ;.... nonsense.
By the time that Alastair actually showed up, the wolf was a sleep, and so once he made his presence known, it's ears flicked a few times and then finally a red eye opened and it raised its head, yawning slightly before glancing at the man.
"Holy fucking shit, If I knew it was gonna be this boring I woulda just called, dude." She wolf sighed, shaking her coat for a moment and then sitting up. "Uh.. no. Not anymore. I can usually talk as bossgirl. But all this is kinda getting in the way of that. So nope, you're talking to Wolfynette. Barynette, whatever floats your boat, fancy guy." She murmured with a fatigued voice, still somewhat waking back up as she eyed the man.
"You act like I came here with a plan. No, well.. not that I'm not always here. But yea. I wanted you guys, vaguely, to find me. But no, I didn't expect the head honcho to show up. Honcho? Honchette? Doesn't matter. But No, I don't really got a plan. I felt like being here, and so I'm here. Maybe wanted to ... see how yall are doing." She grew a bit vague and indirect. Almost as if she weren't entirely certainly about .. whatever it was she wanted. She certainly hadn't expected Alastair would speak to her himself. That was a surprise.

"See how we all are doing?"
Alastair cut through all of her mindless yapping instantly. His tone was as dry as ever, and the wolf's abrasive tone did little to put him at ease. Her intent did not seem apparent to him, appearing so casually as if nothing had happened. Still, perhaps there was an assumption that Wahrender had kept itself to itself that he had little intention to correct. The less these terrorists knew, the better.
"We are doing well. Is there anything else that you desire to communicate? Your presence is not welcome in the City, hence our precautions, but if your intentions are innocuous then I will permit you to leave peacefully."
Orange eyes narrowed as he peered at the creature. What connection it had to this wider network was not something he could simply intuit, but if the connection was a method by which others might gain entry then it could not be allowed to exist here uninhibited.

The wolf canted its head to the side ever so slightly. "Your little chat on the TV seemed to say differently., a whole lot of new responsibilities and all that." She noted calmly, in reference to his announcement that she'd managed to catch on a storefront television set. Her voice still tired, but thoughtful as she watched him closely.
"And why is that? There's a fair number of arrancar in the city. Pretty relaxed at that. Or is this about Rome?" She asked, getting up on all fours as she started to pace the room slightly. There was a drop in enthusiasm as that was mentioned. A heist that was supposed to be an in and out. And it certainly hadn't wound up that way. But well, that also brought to midn other things that had gone on with the powder hunters and the vandenreich. Very direct things. And that stress was quite apparent as she continue to pace.
"How are.....you guys doing without Orihime?" Her voice was hesitant, but more than that it held a tone of concern in it. Not for herself, but for the man infront of her. She didn't have a lot of information about the situation. Frankly, she had been more or less left entirely in the dark about that whole business. All she knew was that Ichigo had found her in the city of lights, and now she was somewhere in hueco mundo. There were a lot of problems she had with the gang's actions. But the situation around Orihime, that was what bothered her the most. Orihime was part of Ichigo's pack, and he had kidnapped her from where, presumably, she had belonged. So she was curious, just what sort of bond even existed between Orihime and the once-vandenreich.

"The Arrancar that live here, much like everyone else, abide by our laws and have not committed any crimes. The same cannot be said for you. You assaulted the Holy Roman Emperor, with an accomplice by your side, in Konigsberg and took something from his family vault. But I will not propagate violence for violence's sake, which is why I would much prefer your peaceful surrender to the alternative and that is not something that can be achieved via this proxy."
There was no small amount of tension in this whole exchange, even though Alastair could not make any actual threats against this single wolf. Her relatively blasé attitude about the entire affair did not win her any sympathy from the Grandmaster, but mentioning Orihime drew a response. Of course, the events were connected but hearing it confirmed did at least assure him of her ties to Ichigo Kurosaki. He was not interested in humouring her question about her responsibilities here, but perhaps his answer would be evidence enough of her import.
"If you have information on Ms Shirohime's whereabouts, I advise you to share it with me now. Wahrender will find where Ichigo Kurosaki is hiding eventually, and she will be rescued from his clutches. Cooperation now would do a great deal to aid your case when this game of cat and mouse comes to an end and you are all brought to justice."

The wolf went silent for a moment and listened as Alastair made such a firm declaration. So she was that important. Even with the change of hats. Tch.... so Ichigo really had kidnapped her. She knew why, but all the same, it made her tense. This wasn't at all what she had expected. It wasn't making any sense, why even take her? He wanted her safe, but frankly, how the hell was being in HUECO MUNDO safe? "Trust me, if I knew where the hell she was, I'd have just brought her here my damn self.." She murmured unhappily, the wolf closing its eyes as it tried to think. The link was weak and a bit skippy, but it was still there, and she could feel the irritation through her main body. What the hell where they doing.
This was supposed to just be about the damn rings. It meant attacking a few people, It even meant having to rub elbows with a bunch of disgusting fucks as well. It was all for Ichigo's sake, and a wish that .... more and more. She wondered if it would even matter. With hwo badly the attack on Soul Society had gone, the guy had almost died. And they weren't even closed to finished. And what was worse... her mind snapped to that Captain in the Gotei. The one she'd sensed taking out one of her fellows in the middle of everything. They weren't just causing trouble, but all of these... bastards were coming out of the woodwork, riding on their coattails. It wasn't just a few bad things... it was spreading. Enabling others. If Starrk were here... what would he even say? Would he just... go along? Like they had with Aizen? Is that what was waiting for her down the line? Destruction, and a whole family of corpses left behind?
And Looking up at Alastair, she couldn't help but think. Was this guy any better?
"I don't know where she is. I don't even know why the hell we still have her. Feels like I know a lot less than I'd like to these days." She peered at Alastair up and down. "Yea I'm not really interested in any deals or whatever. Not like I really care what happens to me. I'm here to talk to you, so you can drop all the justice and punishment talk. What I want to know, is why you had Orihime in the first place, and why she's dying." She asked with narrowed eyes.

"What would Wahrender gain from sharing that information with you?"
Nothing of his attitude changed in response to her request, an unyielding determination clear in his gaze as it fell heavily upon her. Lilynette claimed to desire conversation, but these questions were not the kind that he had any intention of answering. Not to her anyway. It was comforting to know that they were disjointed though, keeping secrets from one another.
"You have come to me with a demand for knowledge, but have no interest in deals. So what are you interested in, then?"
It was hardly like the subject of Shirohime could be considered idle conversation, despite how casually she seemed to be trying to play it. The matter was compounded by the fact that Alastair was nigh incapable of not treating this matter with the severity it deserved, he had little desire to engage in small talk with those who would bring destruction to the world without cause or purpose but duty forced him to tip his hand a little.

The wolf's expression remained unchanged as Alastair continued to push the subject. But as it were, she was already getting all the information she was really looking for. The Wahrender, at least through this man, wasn't going to yield what she needed. More than that, he was clearly bristling from her relaxed mannerisms, and in the back of her mind, she could only wonder if Tier would have been a better voice to this man.
Tier, however, seemed steadfast. Or rather, she had too much to lose. And truth be told, she didn't want Tier to lose either. But she didn't see a world where any of them won. Well..... if he wanted to be on his guard, she could work with that she supposed.
"It wasn't hard, taking out the gotei. Honestly, it was pretty astounding how easy it was. As soon as we attacked, I noticed one of them take the opportunity to kill one of their comrades. Even in the face of an invasion, they still had someone so damn vile that their first instinct was to kill one of their own." The wolf noted quietly, never breaking eye contact as she spoke. "I can see more than just what you're deciding to show me. You strike me as the kinda guy who can be nice to work with when they aren't riled up. The kinda guy I wish was in my pack." She finally turned her head and looked off to the side.
"Mala suerte." She murmured, as the reiryoku that made up the wold dimmed before vanishing entirely.
