Noise… An Ache. Those were the only ways Kanako could describe how she felt about the situation. What she had heard, perhaps even what she had briefly seen, was best described as such; a bothersome noise and an ache within her chest. Instead of acknowledging such things, the oversized woman had decided to put noise cancelling headphones on. She ignored it, to pay attention to whatever they were doing would be folly. However, after what felt like a long sleepless night, Kanako’s attention was inevitably pulled away from her book.

CRASH!

The sound of a large object crashing into a wall shook the house and immediately bypassed her headphones. The headphones came off, and Kanako briefly rushed to the door before she stopped; hand on the knob. But she didn’t open the door, she simply stood there and listened to the shouting voices. The emotions… The tones. The second crash of something else… Kanako could do little more than stand and listen. It was obviously still Amaranta and Khaana… but what should she do? She shouldn’t interrupt, but it sounded like some blows were being exchanged from one side… Then, silence. The soft sound of voices… A Garganta opening and closing… then nothing. She only felt one presence now; Khaana’s.

Kanako stood at the door, her hand no longer upon the knob. She wanted to do something for Khaana, but what? Kanako stood in pure indecision, uncertain of how to help a woman she cared for deeply… What should she do? Was it appropriate to go out there right now? Kanako wanted to be there for Khaana. Her hand extended towards the knob, opening the door in the intent to slowly make her way for wherever Khaana may be. Of course, she could be interrupted easily. Otherwise, Kanako would exit her room to find Khaana; to be there for her. Right now all Kanako could think of was Khaana.
