It happened all of the sudden in literal sense. A student was nearly killed by another student without any provocation and the captain of fourth division was staying to help a teacher recuperate the emotional damage while the student they are carrying in the stretcher was heavily wounded by a deep slash to the back. The three shinigami are rushing while coaxing the other shinigami to get out of the way by shouting. One was using the healing kidou to keep the wound from getting worse as the student was lying on the stretcher with the front side facing downward. With the help of morphine, the student is able to settle down instead of groaning in haunting agony. Usually, a person groaning can be related to the many who suffered great amount of injuries and no one can rest easy unless they are sadistic. "Why would that student attack this one? She is one of the new group of students." The healing shinigami asked while keeping up in running and healing. All the three shinigami have no idea as they approached the entrance of the relief center.

They ran through the hallway, causing quite a ruckus and alerting the other squad mates of fourth division about a wounded student in need of immediate medical attention. The student was breathing, but was quiet, which is the sign that makes other people uncomfortable. They entered the emergency room and placed her on the table. Of the three, the female one ran out to lead their vice captain, Neviah Clisx-Kimura to the student while the two male shinigami are trying to keep the wound from getting worse through their kidou. The reason their kidou cannot heal it is because the wound is too deep for the basic and only the few exceptional healers like Neviah and Unohana are capable of dealing with this kind of lethal wound. One of the men adjusted the student so the operation can be easier for Neviah. Unfortunately, due to the gravity of the situation, the shinigami has to tear her mini-dress and put the sheet over her lower half to conceal the unnecessary flesh.

As Neviah enters, she could see a half naked girl with winter skin and honey-blond hair that stops down to her shoulders and a deep rouge ribbon to keep her hair from getting in the way. The female shinigami who was escorting Neviah told her that Jushiro Ukitake called Captain Unohana by another shinigami and Unohana brought her and the other two men to help get the girl into the relief center. The attack was by a fellow student and the wound was too deep for basic healing kidou. The spine was damaged so the girl cannot move much while the wound was lethal enough that basic kidou was needed constantly to keep her from going into shock and die. Unohana was staying at the Shino Academy to help Ukitake recuperate from the shock while Captain Kuchiki's squad are called in for investigation. "For now, ensuring that she lives to recover is our top priority. We'll help you when you need us." The female shinigami spoke to Neviah while the two men switched places so one can get the tools and medical aids while another is keeping the constant healing kidou going so Neviah would not be running against the short time limit.

While the four are at work in saving the student's life, the student fell asleep either by the stress by the pain or the morphine soothing her. She was sleeping while her snoring is so quiet, it is mistaken for breathing. She still frowned, knowing that she is facing death, yet she hardly cringe at the thought of dying like she has been through it before. From her gray eyes that was shifting rapidly, she was experiencing a dream, so she is sleeping through the whole treatment; both a good and bad sign. An old wives' tale suggested that dreaming occurs before death while sleeping means that the medicine is working and surgery will be easier. There is no telling which is which, all that could matter to the other shinigami was to student's survival because they don't want to have the division's reputation get damaged from losing one student.

'Such a blissful day~'

Thought the Vice-Captain of the 4th Division as she was in her office humming to herself as she was reviewing some medical forms. Her chipper attitude was not only standard of her for trying to keep a good morale in the workplace, but since she just received her new assistant and best friend Konomi, Neviah couldn't be happier! Everything was fantastic and to her, nothing could make the day bad, but of course, don't count all your chickens before they hatch. As Neviah was in the middle of signing a form for a medication product, a female shinigami from the emergency squad burst in scaring Neviah half to death. The Vice Captain of course is skittish and very shy, so the smallest things would scare her and surprise her. Neviah jumped back shaking and whimpering a little as the female stated that there's a student from the Shino Academy under critical condition from an attack by a fellow student. At the end of the statement, Neviah did something that was very rare for anyone to see, as her eyes sharpened and reflected her fathers. When her father's eyes narrow it means he's serious and leaves no mercy, where for Neviah it can mean the same, but more so it means her scared nature has disappeared and a very strong and confident leader has stepped up.

Why would someone from the Academy attack one another? There were spars, but they were with wooden katanas and were only allowed for the 9th week students. Neviah was familiar with the Shino Academy as she graduated from it about 40 years ago, some years before her father disappeared. She remembers it well, so for it to have such a strong casualty would be somewhat questionable. Neviah put on her doctors coat immediately as she came from around her desk, tying on her Vice-Captain badge on her right arm and walked with a hurry down the hallways towards the ER section. As she headed there, she was being briefed upon the condition of the student and her level of injury. From what Neviah was able to pick up, the spinal area was damaged as well as deep laceration within the back which was not being healed by Kidou. Also there was some internal damage from the deep cut that needed to be fixed as soon as possible. As Neviah walked she was in a world of thought, wondering if she'd need artificial organs from the 12th or not, and what her case file was...

"Go to the Shino Academy and get me her Medical File immediately. I need vitals, blood type, and allergies ASAP!"

Neviah's voice wasn't soft and sweet as it usually is, as it was strong and stern. When it came to the live of anyone, Neviah's sharpened expression never lacked in detail and perfection as if she made the slightest mistake, she could lead to failure, which results in death. Now was no time for games, it was now time to be the Vice-Captain of the 4th Division and to make Unohana-Taichou proud as she does what Unohana and her father has taught her.

Finally entering the closed off area, Neviah didn't seem shocked or anything as she observed the female seeing her ripped clothing and bare skin. It's a good thing Neviah was female because with the same gender working on one another, there's no risk of attraction, as that would lead to frustration and mistakes. Either way, Neviah took notice that she needed to ensure life for the female and everything else was minor priority. From that, Neviah observed the deep cut in the back region discovering that the reason Kidou couldn't heal it was because healing Kidou assists in blood clots which close basic wounds, and the more advanced healing kidous can only go so far, where this required HEAVY medical operation to possibly the use of a higher ability. Either way, Neviah began to speak for the log in which to be recorded as she took note of the girl’s unsettled pupils signifying a possible lapse of shock to sub conscious going haywire. It was time to get to work...

"Record, Patient is a Female to observation within the first 200 years of life cycle. Condition consists of heavy laceration to the Latissimus dorsi reaching about 6 inches into the body, causing internal damage to the spinal region cutting off nerve communication to the body. Other possibilities of damage are internal reaching the intestinal region up through the diaphragm to the lungs. Will inspect for further treatment. Consultation with the 12th for Nano Surgery for the nerves will be conducted..."

From there, Neviah put on some gloves as she looked to the other shinigami there to assist her. She looked to one male and began to direct orders...

"Perform Kidou Keikatsu on her head. It'll stabilize her consciousness and level her mind while we operate."

It was a Kidou in the lower 30's so it shouldn't be too hard. Neviah then looked to the other male and directed him as well...

"Get in touch with the 12th Division and get a representative here for nano technology for nerve restructure and repair..."

Neviah then looked at the girl with a look that expressed concern instead of demand as what Neviah was going to tell her might affect others...

"Hold her still and brace her... What I'm going to do will hurt as I'm going to enter the wound..."

Neviah knew what she must do to stabilize the poor girl and it was going to require the help of Neviah's zanpaktou, Serenity. With one of Serenity's feathers, she can repair internal damage and from there close the wound with a Meiyu Kidou which is a stronger kidou in the 50's level that can close the opening. From there, it'll be up to the 12th Division to return her to movement, unless Unohana was to be there. Unohana's healing abilities were far greater than Neviah's as Unohana could return any limb, organ, and even repair nerve damage, yet Neviah was still growing and adapting up to Unohana's level, even though hers was very high and refined. Now, it was time for Neviah to display the power of her Give and Take Zanpaktou. Neviah pulled out her beautiful glass Wakizashi that was kept at her side and beautiful and pure. She closed her eyes as her spiritual pressure began to rise little by little...

"Bring life to salvation and death to corruption, Serenity!"

From there, the Wakizashi glowed as it transformed from the beautiful glass blade and from it became a long glass chain connecting two fans at each end. On one end was a black and dangerous looking metal fan with blades at its end, where on the other side was a beautiful white fan with feathers on its inside that looked as if given from an angel. Neviah was wrapped around her waist by the chain once and held the black fan in her right hand and the white fan in her left hand. Now there was no energy within the chain and for the feathers to take the level of effect it needs to cure her, Neviah would have to take blood, to give blood. By now the female shinigami should be held down allowing Neviah to do as she needs. Without holding back, Neviah held out her left arm and took the black fan in her right hand cutting her arm deeply causing blood to spray from her wound, and cover the black bladed fan. Neviah winced and cried a little from the cut, but kept her focus as a tear dropped from her left eye. From there, the chain began to light up as it glowed with a powerful energy. Neviah's left arm dropped due to the pain and the cut in her tendon, but that doesn't mean she's done as the black fan floated next to her and Neviah plucked a white feather from the white fan. The fan then began to float as Neviah got close to the girl in pain and placed the feather deep within her wound. A bright glow emitted from within the cut as the muscles and tendons within the girls back began to reattach themselves and guarantee the patients safety from critical condition.

"C-Condition.... S-S-Secure..."

Neviah stepped back as her Zanpaktou resided back into Wakizashi form and Neviah sheathed it. Removing her lab coat, she wrapped her arm in the coat to slow the bleeding as she braced herself against the wall to her right smiling and her eyes returning to its round ways and her personality returning to her loving, timid, and shy self.

"P-Perform a k-k-kidou to close t-the... T... The wound..."

Neviah smiled and breathed a little heavy, but was happy to know that she took her out of critical condition and now had to focus on her recovery and recuperation. The 12th will be needed for Nerve reconstruction and whatnot, but either way, it's all good from there.

After Neviah closed the deeper wound, the assisting shinigami are doing what they could to close it up. One is keeping the girl from squirming, but unusually, she hardly moved. The second one keeping her head level, but the girl's head was weighing down as if she is unable to lift her own head up. The third is closing up the wound and coincidentally is the best healer of the three. "No movement from the body. It is like the spinal damage also made it impossible for her to have any reflex either." The first one reported. "Agony is evident, so she still have facial functions, since she can still facially express her agony during the insertion. Just her autonomy is shot." The second one reported. "Closing the wound now. E.T.A. five minutes. Where is the medical record!" The third one reported before shouting at the outside of the room. "I checked with the Academy. Today is the first day for this student, so her medical record is not made yet. We will have to find out for ourselves. As for the 12th division, the note is sent and the rep will be on his or her way." Another shinigami reported as he enters empty handed.

After a few minutes, the female shinigami relaxed herself. "It is done. Let's take her to the I.C.U. until we are a hundred percent sure that she can recover smoothly. Visitors will be up to Vice Captain Clixx-Kimura. I'll help the Vice Captain." The female shinigami spoke to show some leadership for the time being. As the female looked upon Neviah and walked to her so she can tend to the wound. Three of the shinigami lifted the stretcher and the girl on it before carefully carrying her off to the intensive care unit, a room made for a person under critical condition, someone like that girl. Down the hallways and into a specific room where medical equipment are readily available close by and a few chairs are available. One specialized bed was laying flat in the center of the room. The three proceeded to carefully transfer the girl from the stretcher and onto the specialized bed.

With the blanket over her body except for her head, the girl can only breathe and watch as two of the shinigami strapped her down and the third raised the bed so gravity can prevent loss in bone and muscle mass while she is recovering, plus to make it easier for others to feed her for the time being. The girl rests as two shinigami left the room, leaving one to be watching over her. "Can you speak?" The shinigami asked, but no answer from the girl. "I'm sorry to ask that, I assumed that you can because even though you're paralyzed, you can still facially express yourself. Can you at least smile to show that you can at least communicate?" He apologized before asking again. However, the girl did not speak still. The shinigami sighed as he lowered his head before shaking it side to side. "The shock must be that hard. It scared us as well back there. Go rest and I'll make sure you will get out of here instead of staying here permanently." The watchful shinigami concluded his conversation.

The girl closed her eyes to rest and drift off to her dreams. Most of the time, she has good dreams. However, she is no different as she also has her share of nightmares. One was when she was stuck in the middle of darkness as a man was drifting away from her as a long white hand reached out for her. It grabbed her by the ankles and pulled hard; she woke up after that every time. This time, it is far different. She finds herself in the middle of a forest, following a woman in a kimono. The lady brought her to a plain of grass and flowers with the lake in the middle. In the middle of the lake was what is seemed to be a building of twisted ancient wood, stones and moss. She kept following the lady to the lake and stopped as the lady crossed it without any stepping stone as if she was walking on water. She stared at the woman as she told her, "Restore." The word itself was told to her earlier this day and the girl could not tell what it meant at all. It must have some kind of a meaning and that building must be the key to it. But where is it?

Neviah's focus was onto the patient as the other female Shinigami took charge in having the girl moved and decided to take care of Neviah's wound. It's funny really, about Neviah's Zanpaktou. It takes life, to give life, somewhat of an exchange. Neviah gave her arm a would similar to what the girl experienced in her back in order to heal her damage. Because of that however, Neviah ended up cutting two tendons in her forearm making it useless and causing quite the bleed. Either way, Neviah is willing to do whatever it takes to save an innocent soul, especially if it's an academy student. No one deserves such pain and the fact it was a student urks at Neviah in such a way that she wanted to know who did it. Who would dare strike down an innocent and helpless student whom just wishes to learn? Hopes that Unohana would assist and come back with news from the 6th that the culprit was seized was deep within Neviah's mind. She wanted justice to be brought due to such misfortune upon the other soul, it was unfair. Neviah's focus decided to take hold of her once again, but she didn't show it with her eyes. Instead as the female shinigami approached, Neviah lifted her right arm signing a "Stop" as she turned and walked away. Neviah's vision became tunnel vision as now, she decided to concentrate...

'A helpless student was attacked and the would seemed to be cause of a blade. Possible it was a Zanpaktou and the cut was deep enough from the back, giving it a possibility of shunpo since this student was taken from behind. That means we're dealing with an experienced Shinigami here...'

Neviah walked as her lab coat was tied tightly around her arm and slowly turning red from the cut within her arm. Taking a couple turns down some hallways, Neviah entered a medical room alone where she reached into a drawer and grabbed a syringe that was holding about 35mL of a clear liquid. Neviah's arm became numb as she then reached back into the drawer and pulled out a scalpel and made a couple of small cuts within her arm. Tears dropped from Neviah's face as it pain was indeed intense, yet she's got things to think about, so her focus was elsewhere. Placing the scalpel down, she then took her left hand and began to whisper to herself quietly as her hand glowed brightly in a pinkish and yellow aura. As she held her hand over the wound, the wound began to close slowly, but Neviah was gritting her teeth and crying harder from this, as she was performing an extremely high powered kidou that reversed the effects within the body to a point of stability. This was a perfect kidou to use on poisoned individuals and those whom have muscle damage, but the reason Neviah could never use it on the patient was because if it would affect the spine, nerves would potentially get crossed and kill the patient snapping them. The best way to use the said kidou is for open wounds on patients who are pain tolerant, but in Neviah's case, she was sucking it up. She then bit hard onto her lab coat as the pain was indeed intense, but she kept focus on the kidou to repair her arm.

Finally once the repair was complete, Neviah patched over her wound as now the deep scar would be possible to reopen. It's best to stay easy on the arm for a little bit now. Neviah placed herself into an arm brace and walked out moments later from the exam room with her tears dried and coat at her side, hiding the blood stains. She decided it was now a good time to speak to the patient as she should be recovering soon enough. Walking towards the ICU, Neviah tried to regain her composure as the Vice-Captain and prepare her questions...
