~The Lone Wolf's Long Tale: Koichi Iramasha's Story~ {OPEN THREAD} BeginPost2

'Allo there, names Azure. Azure Iramasha. Nice to meet you.' Azure went over these words time and time again, the voice that had echoed within his head had not been of his own tone, it was of a male that understood is place and knew when to speak not to speak. Azure Iramasha had been walking, more of a pacing motion, outside that of his barracks. Today he had to choose between to recruit shinigami, which scared him. Azure is a man, come on! The child inside of him grew up, and is no longer there. By why the hell would he take the time to worry about petty things like this? Azure moved, his fist now coming forward to crash against the side of the barracks, the door that had once been in place would have seemed to dissappear forward, the scared look on the two recruits face make Azure giggle, his frame now entering the doorway as he gripped the door, tossing it out of the barracks as if nothing had happened. "Don't worry about that, was just a little anger coming from what seemed to be an idiotic decision to be a captain!" The recruits looked at him, their eyes filling up with fear, the thought of a captain, that did not wish to be that of a captain, taking anger out on his own barracks. They were frightened, Azure knew this. Well, time to fix this.... Azure shuffled over to his desk within the room, taking out that of a kendo stick, now looking back to the Recruits. "As you know, I am not a Shinigami, if you didn't know this, well shit, that is bad. Anywho, let me state right now that I do not fight with a zanpakuto, but more of a sound base way of attack. Although I do have a lead pipe to beat the fuck out of people, I do not do so. Understand? This kendo stick will be my only defense to the two of you, which will also use kendo sticks. I don't wish for my kendo stick to break while you two just keep going at me with tempered steel, understandable? Great, lets begin!

The two recruits looked at him as he placed a kendo stick in either of the students hands, the fear seeming to rise as they stared at him in disbelief. The students quietly thought to themselves, the idea of a man of Azure's stature scared them, who the hell was this Captain?
"Go on now... Attack me! Azure's loud voice had startled them, both of the recruits seeming to jump back in terror, now looking at each other. The two recruits decided then that they would take on his challenge, needing only to step forward. The recruit that had gone by the name of Silver stepped forward, his feet seeming to impact the ground as he came at Azure with a forceful blow with his Kendo stick. As he thought he hit, he swept once more around the captain, now aiming for his back. Azure was better than they had believed so, blocking that of this first attack without the child noticing, now taking his arm, inverting his kendo stick and sliding it upward against his back, blocking the kendo stick of the Recruit. "Ah Ah Ah! You're slow, speed up my child!" Silver sniggered, his breath red and hot, his head seeming to fume with anger. His body lurched forward, aiming a single strike at Azure's skull. He moved swiftly to the side, now tripping the recruit as he flew to the ground, smashing his head against the wall of the barracks. Azure's hand move upward, now motioning for the other recruit to attack him. The recruit was known as Biff, he had that of a long scar crossing between the two of his eyes and had been rather tall. He moved, his movements swift and clean, the kendo stick coming quickly from its starting point to the point of where it met Azure's own. "Must they never learn?" Azure shifted his body weight, now causing the weight of his figure to be focused on his kendo stick, the swift motions of the 'Blade' would then be enacted, his arms moving in a fluent motion as he smacked that of the recruit's neck, now reaching his stomach region, smashing the tip of the his kendo stick into Biff, now twisting to outward, Silver, knowingly saw an opening, went for his back. Azure spun was more, a smashing blow into the stomach region of the recruit, now smashing the kendo stick against his skull, a large cracking noise could be heard as both recruits went unconscious. Azure sighed, his arms seeming to raise quietly as he allowed his chaos energy to flow out of the palms of his hands, a sickening red energy had then wrapped itself around the two recruits, the healing powers of the energy taking effect on their bruises, and possible ruptured stomachs. Azure sighed, Could they be anymore worthless? he thought. He moaned in a loud, rather annoyed tone. As he healed the two recruits, he forcefully pulled them awake, a slap to the face each had earned. "Although I wouldn't be surprised if you believed I was an asshole after such a thing was done to you, but honestly, trust me, I'm fine. You both showed courage, and that is what I look for most in my recruits, I told you both that only one of you would be chosen most likely, I lied. I have scare tactics of my own, and if you both are worthy of it, you can join my Squad." They both nodded rather obediatly, scurrying off into the barracks, now choosing their own room of choice. Azure was rather annoyed now, if such a thing were to happen to him he would have become angered and would have most likely taken the anger out on the barracks itself. He sighed, shifting his body wait into a free fall, his figure now being seen to fall against the ground, the chaos energy that had enveloped Azure's body would have sent him flying through the space known as the Soul Society. As the Chaos Warp ended he had appeared from thin air, falling from the sky of downtown Karakura. His feet landed hard against the ground, another sigh coming from the males mouth as he dusted off his haori.

"Well then, hasn't it been awhile my love?.." Azure felt stupid after speaking these words, but he knew they were true. The people around them huddled within a intersection of downtown karakura had looked at him funny, why the hell is this man speaking to himself? Azure loved Karakura, the smells, the architecture, everything about the city inflamed his spirit, wanting him to move forward, faster and faster. He stepped forward, his body seeming to shift slightly as he looked to the right, a large mass of people now trampling him over as he failed to get out of the way. Same old Karakura I guess... He stood, dusting off his haori once more, his body moving throughout the sidewalk now, chaos energy now enveloping his body rather quickly. Now then, I expect Koichi to be at Hanako's but I'd love to grab him something before I arrive, don't want to be an asshole brother, you know?"Yes, I do know" he said this mockingly to himself, why the hell has he gotten so obsessed with speaking to himself? Its gotten quite annoying.. He looked on either side of the street, now seeing a little bakery that had seemed to be open, but why this late? The date was December 30, the day before new year's eve. He smiled, seeing a friendly man wave him in as he appeared in the door frame. "Yes, hello there. I'd like to take some... Apple pie, a dozen cinnamon rolls, and some coffee please.!" The man nodded softly, sliding from the back of the register and opening that of a door that led to the back of the bakery, only emerging minutes later with a hand full of cinnamon rolls and coffee. He stated that Azure would have to wait for the apple pie, the baker had not fully finished the latest batch of pies. Azure sighed, his body moving away from the counter as he sat down in a chair opposite the window. The day time sky seemed to light up the building, but he liked it that way. He laid his head against the table that sat in front of him, his eyes closing softly as he began to sleep, a wave of anguish seeming to sweep over him as he dreamed.

He awoke with a startled shove, the cashier seeming to be standing beside him. He handed the male the pie and escorted him out. Azure was amazed as he stepped outside, the sky was black, the stars had rose from their faithful place in space, it was night time. How the hell had he fallen asleep so easily? The time had to be atleast 3:00 pm when had laid his head against that table. He yawned slight, his arms stretching as he took a small sip of his coffee. Cold... He moved to the nearest trash can, smashing the coffee in his hand as he threw it downward, the disgusting brew had now irritated him, hoping Koichi had been awake still. He shifted, turning his head as he saw that of a shooting star in the sky. Wait... What the hell? That is not a shooting star... He moaned loudly, Koichi HAD been awake, and HAD been shooting damned chaos blasts in the sky. What the hell was he thinking? This could damage the dome! Azure groaned in protest as he walked along two side streets, deeper into karakura downtown. As he reached the end of the second side street, the pub had finally came into view. There he was, his iramasha clan jacket had covered his body, nothing else besides bottoms had been on. Azure thought slowly, should he really approach Koichi after he started shooting chaos blasts everywhere? This could be rather unsafe for my well-being... He shifted once more, his head shaking rapidly. I haven't seen him in awhile, this is needed, he thought. He began to walk once more, the stars seeming to guide him towards Koichi as he finally stood at the front of the pub, his head raising to look at the male. Koichi always made Azure feel weak, but he knew that Koichi had some feelings for him, if not love. He shifted once again, his mouth opening as he began to speak.
"Hey Koichi, I brought some Pie and Cinnamon rolls, didn't know if you wanted any or not, but what else could I do for my brother? I decided that, after work, I would come to Karakura to see you. Sorry that it took so long, I had fallen asleep at the bakery and such, but I'm here, right?.." Azure sighed, his head shifting once more, looking from side to side. His figure had been seen standing their, a second earlier, now appearing beside Koichi on the roof of the pub, his legs propped off the ledge, his hands in his pockets, and his haori now slid off. He had a jacket, it was black, the strings being made of red silk. The hood had covered Azure's head, and his ridiculous pink hair, something he wasn't that shy about. Moving alittle more, he smiled softly, waiting for Koichi's response to his arrival. Although, he may be here with Koichi, Azure had the nagging feeling that he shouldn't have come, that Koichi didn't want him here, insecurity can be an asshole, can't it?...

ENTER THE CALM

~The Lone Wolf's Long Tale: Koichi Iramasha's Story~ {OPEN THREAD} WeeklyArt_Vocaloid_00Header4Luka-2-1

A cold whip of wind made its way over the Forest of Karakura. It trickled the leaves over head as Nakami was resting, her eyes closed and her arms laid on her stomach, one knee raised the other leg out straight. It was calming. Beautiful. The area hadn't shown a single sign of humanity, no noise from cars, no noise or chatter from humans. Just the rustling of wind in the tree's, the slowly fading chirping of birds whistling among the trees. It was getting late. She continued to lay under the trees, thinking and pondering questions and events that have happened in her life. She sat up, her body clearly relaxed and quite weak as she had been sleeping and resting for hours. An expressionless cloud covered her face, showing absolutely no emotion. No happiness, no sorrow, nothing. Slowly she began to stand up; grasping Tamashi that was holstered on her waist, within a blink of an eye, she flicked the sword out from it's holster and sent it flying into the air, mid air Nakami would grasp it and cut two leaves that were falling from the trees above clean in half, straight down the middle before closing her eyes and putting the single zanpakuto back into the holster. She smiled as she returned the sword to her waste before peeking through the gaps in the trees above and seeing the few night sky stars that were visible from this location. It was nice... the pure comfort and thought of this night pleased her. Her mind was still wondering around the thought of Setsudan, she couldn't get her mind off of him. She was so happy she met someone like him, someone that actually shared the same thoughts... she was at last happy in her dark, dank life.

She had decided on one thing, it was time to leave. She figured she would maybe walk around the streets of down town Karakura, maybe even go to the store and buy some more sake which she was running out of back at her room in the Vizard Corps. Placing her hands in the pockets of her short shorts, she walked out into a more populated place of the Forest; more simple humans playing with their kids, more people just hanging out with a few of their friends. In a way, Nakami kind of envied them. She never had friends she could just 'hang out' with. She actually never normally talked to anyone unless it was on official business. Even if people tried to talk to her, she'd just push them away. As she continued to walk out into the more open area, she smiled as she saw the little kids running around; the courageous playing of fake sword fighting between the 5 year olds. She chuckled, she couldn't help but remember when she used to do things like that. Not having a care in the world, not giving a single crap about anything. If only that were still the case.

She continued to walk, running thoughts through her head. As she walked, she passed numerous bars; all of them teeming with drunk men, all slobbered up and looking for any women they could find. Nakami couldn't help but think what a disgusting excuse for a human being they were. Humans were meant to have pride, meant to show respect and prove to everyone that humans can be... merciful and have pride. Like humans once used to. Finally, she fell upon the district of down town Karakura, she look around there, it wasn't the best place for a women to be at night time but she could easily take care of herself, without a doubt. She looked around her relaxed attitude showing clearly by the way she postured herself. She passed numerous amounts of people, most drunk men making sly comments towards her, almost every single one of them unable to keep their own body upright. She heard an abundance of noise echoing from a pub not to far away, a lot of, not only chatter.

The sign above this place read: 'Hanako's Pub'. She had been here before, except not in a long time. She shrugged a little bit before setting a few steps inside the door, looking at all the people in there. She smiled and sat down at the counter, ordering a simple cup of warm sake. As she received the drink, she looked around. Last time she remembered the place more lively. However, it was still rather, loud in a sense. Most of the noise coming from the roof, however. She heard chatter from there that most people couldn't hear, normal people anyway. She continued to let a smile as her small, woollen jacket's sleeves were pulled over her hands, each hand wrapped around a side of the cup, taking yet another sip before finishing it off finally. Perhaps - Perhaps it would have been better if she came here with someone she knew rather than being surrounded by total strangers. She missed the calm already. She announced to herself she might actually go up to the roof and see what's going on, perhaps even meet some new people or maybe just gaze at the stars like she originally had in mind.

As she walked up, Nakami stretched, placing both arms behind her head, revealing a bit of her stomach. As she reached the roof, she opened the door slightly, peeking through and looking for anyone up there. As she looked up; she saw but two men standing up there. One having a captains Haori beside him while the other having dog-like features; the Iramasha symbol attached to the coat on his back. She sighed as she just about turned around to leave. She stopped for a moment and looked back at the two up there, she looked at them with a expressionless face, hopefully they had not noticed she was there yet. As she looked again, her eyes scanned both of them, first looking at the Haori. She blinked a few times, noticing the symbol of a captain of the fifth division on it. She chuckled a bit, then her gaze drew itself back to the Iramasha. It was obvious, she didn't know why she didn't realise straight away: It was none other than Koichi Iramasha. She should have guessed, she had heard many things about both of these men here, especially Koichi. The most surprising thing that Nakami felt was, though, was that the Gotei 13 allowed... a Iramasha into their ranks? She didn't know, or didn't care, what the Gotei was doing with a Iramasha in their ranks, but to her it was a little strange.

Walking out, Nakami kept a soft tone in her voice and placed her hands in her pockets, Nakami still holding her body tight, she was nervous around them. She was nervous for one reason, she actually wasn't sure where either of them sat with The Vizard Corps, actually. Sure, they were allies for now, but the allied team frequently changes so much it's hard to keep track.

"K-Koichi-san? Azure-san?"

She stopped walking for a bit, awaiting their reaction. She smiled and continued walking, she wasn't walking to them, however. She looked over the railing of the left side of the roof before jumping on top of it, sitting right on the railing right on the edge, looking out all at Karakura. Lights flashed from certain places there, her eyes flicking between each one. She didn't like it, though. She looked over he shoulder and returned her casual gaze to Koichi and Azure.

"You know... I could notice you two from a mile away up here. You don't try and hide your presence at all, do you?" She chuckled to herself softly.

She continued to look over the large area of Karakura. Each breath she took , a cloud of vapour appearing just within her vision. Winter... The chilling cold nights and the wonderful days. She watched as she heard the screams of people enjoying the new year, partying and becoming so drunk they can barely stand. Nakami didn't care for the new year, though. Her main focus was keeping her life on track, perhaps even meeting new people and getting to know the people she only just met a little better. Slowly, she stood up and began to walk over to both Iramasha's, sitting down a few meters away from Azure, a short black jacket spread over her shoulders, the bottom of the jacket ending just before her belly button...

It was a nice night indeed...

It was the holiday rush for the pub as Hanako forces herself to accommodate for the customers. Apparently it was standard for customer satisfaction to have the pub open from early morning through nighttime. But to Hanako and her condition of bearing five for over two months, it was beginning to sound ridiculous as juggling between taking care of her and her unborn children and the integrity of the pub while Koichi, her husband is going out to get funds from bounty hunting. Normally, Hanako would open for daytime and go bounty hunting during weekends, but for this, the pub requires more attention than ever. Recently, Koichi was becoming broody or frustrated over something and Hanako cannot put a finger on it. She would talk to Koichi, but the holiday rush robs the time she needs to talk to him and she was afraid that frustration will build up into something that even she has a hard time to repair. Patrons come and go hour by hour, minute by minute as Hanako feels that she is in a cage where she cannot get out. She guesses that being the Super Munchkin of the Karakura Defenders would be a tall order for now. At least trouble is not following her like the one time with that crazy lady earlier.

By memory, Hanako was going out with Archer and Shirou to get a pornographic graphic novel latest from her favorite author, but the crazy lady, so full of misconception and discomforting impressions that Hanako was on her toes about it while Archer and Shirou was told by Hanako to stay on their guards. Archer and Shirou are part of this family as well, so it is natural that Hanako would be concerned about their interactions with that crazy woman. At least she bought her graphic novels and returned unharmed, she can at least rest about it, but events has been going about the city like a prelude to an avalanche, subtle and eerily foretelling for a disaster to come. With Koichi’s frustration that Hanako was forcefully ignorant of and the increasing activities in the city, Hanako can only hope for the best that at least things will calm down and she has the time to talk to Koichi about his frustration. For all that she knows, someone told Koichi and ever since then, Koichi was in peril of mental self-destruction or so as Hanako would think. He is her husband and he is the one that Hanako was concerned of. “Minatumi. Break’s over.” Hanako speaks to Hoshiko who was recently rescued from Minatumi Harbor over some kind of a dispute with DEPTH-Com. Strange for someone to be against DEPTH-Com when that company was only concerning over the health of the public and the future of mankind. Sure these stories depicted that some are going lengths and unethical bounds to pursue longevity for mankind to exploit, but they are stories, right? “H-Hai!” Hoshiko replies as she nearly stumbles before going back to work.

What a poor girl, the new waiter was from Minatumi Harbor that was quarantined. Luckily Aya assures Hanako that she is fine. Hoshiko was her name, but Hanako prefers to call her Minatumi because often times, if referring to Hoshiko, Hanako might accidentally confuse her name with Hoshiko’s when speaking quickly. Judging by the tale from Aya, Hanako has to take care of Hoshiko while she is out finding answers while DEPTH-Com will be looking for both the people who interfered and Hoshiko. Not only that, Hanako has to be careful about the Yakuza who seems to somehow elude from the police so many times while still harassing her. Luckily the pub was protected by seals set up by Kisuke Urahara from Urahara’s candy shop as along Hanako provides the high quality candies for them due to her wealth. Simple deal, was it? As for Hoshiko, it is hard to shake off a feeling that something bad will happen in her life and Hanako feels it is needed that she should provide cushions for that event. However, Hanako is not her mother, but it does not stop her from caring for her like a member of the family since she is now her employee.

Upon receiving the note from Hoshiko, Hanako notices a woman approaching her bar table. Many spirits have come to the pub for a drink or information, and the woman was rather new. “How may I serve you?” Hanako asks the woman. The woman does not introduce herself, but she orders a drink that Hanako was familiar with. With the patrons on waiting, it is no doubt that it takes time for Hanako to even begin with the woman’s request. She passes out a bottle of Foster’s brewed beer while starts mixing different spices and peppers into a brownish juice with a scent of hard spices that can feel like a kick in the face attitude to the woman as it was mixed in front of her. Despite her pregnancy, Hanako was not hindered in the matter of bartending. “Foster’s and Wake Up Juice for 16 and 12! Come and get them!” Hanako shouts out to Hoshiko. Hoshiko comes and retrieves the two drinks for the lads. While she does that, Hanako starts mixing in wine, beer and champagne carefully to give it a balance of flavor, kick and exotic blends that seems to be what the woman have not tried before, but looks inviting enough to please her while not able to make her go down like a drunk. Tropical fruits should be evident in tasting while a pleasant stimulation would start after like a good day on the beach or the nice walk through the harmless jungle.

Hanako looks at Hoshiko and notices that she was cringing while walking away from the high school senior, who Hanako labeled as “12”. While the senior literally chugs it and makes himself the fool, Hoshiko walks up to her and shows her hand looking like it was blistered from the juice. “It iches.” Hoshiko tells Hanako while sounding like a little girl who hurt herself. Hanako takes Hoshiko’s hand and studies it. To the eyes of the sharp, Hanako was giving an educated scrutiny of the blisters. “One moment.” Hanako speaks to Hoshiko before ducking under the bar table to pull out a first aid kit. Judging by the look of the kit, it is scientifically proven by DEPTH-Com, a particular product that are either expensive or reserved for medical teams of the alliance like Gotei 13, Vizard Corp, Yayjuu and local hospitals. Hanako reviews the kit and pulls out a pocket multi-tool before flipping out a knife. “It may sting a bit, but it is needed to get the alcohol into the blisters. I believe it is just minor contact allergy from the spices.” Hanako tells Hoshiko as she puts a wash cloth on the table, then Hoshiko’s hand over the wash cloth. Carefully, Hanako cuts the blister pockets and spread the opening. Hoshiko’s hand was cringing as it hurts. Hanako puts the knife aside and carefully apply some alcohol from the kit onto the opened blisters to kill the bacteria in the blisters and to sterilize the puss. Without delay, Hanako puts the alcohol away and begins dressing with a high quality bandages to staunch the new wounds. Hanako looks at Hoshiko with a smile while Hoshiko was showing tears of pain. Despite Hanako being shorter than Hoshiko, Hanako puts her hand over Hoshiko’s head and gives her a kiss on the forehead. “Go upstairs. We will need a break.” Hanako tells Hoshiko while seeing her caressing her bandaged hand. “Last call! Break coming soon!” Hanako announces as the customers shout back with acknowledgement, however at the same time, Hanako hears a blast from the roof.

As Hoshiko goes upstairs, the woman gets up and walks with Hoshiko. Normally, Hanako would stop the woman in her tracks and tell her that she is not allowed in the house unless she is sure to trust her or she is part of the family. However, Hanako was tied up with patrons wanting the last drink before going home, especially the one still begging for water because of the Wake Up Juice. It takes a few moments to serve the drinks and close up for a while; now, it is time to catch that woman and to find out about the explosion. She walks upstairs and notices Hoshiko running upstairs with her priestly walking stick. Now Hanako is assuming that Hoshiko ran into Koichi, her husband who is sulking on the rooftop. By the time that she reaches upstairs, Hoshiko was telling the woman about Hanako’s dislike for strangers entering in her house unannounced nor not introduced. Hoshiko was clearly ready to fight off the “enemies” before Hanako has to speak. “She is right about me not liking strangers in my house other than those I know as part of the family. But take it easy, Minatumi. The one on the right is my husband and the one on the left is my brother-in-law.” Hanako speaks to both the woman and Hoshiko. Hanako points out one who is Koichi first and the other being Azure Iramasha.

It was the day after Christmas that Hoshiko became a member of Hanako’s Pub since Aya took her out of Minatumi Harbor and out of the grasp of DEPTH-Com. Though the flowers suffered, Hoshiko was given enough time to collect a few seeds and Father Yamamoto’s walking stick before leaving town for good. The illness that befell the town was still unknown as even her father’s friend, Hideki Yamamoto was uncertain of what it does. It felt that it is not long until the quarantine would end with a ghost town and Hoshiko left being the only one who survived the mysterious plague. She guessed she is thankful for Aya for saving her and bringing her to Karakura Central. However, she is still new to it all and fails to understand what is going on now that she is away from the comforts of the church and its Soul Irises. Her current goal now was to find a place like the church to plant the Soul Irises in hopes if the plague comes to Karakura, she would be prepared; vain, but prepared at least. All Hideki could tell her that the plague seems to start with a dream and progresses to the point that the dreamer refuses to wake up involuntarily. However, the progression involves having harder time waking up and exhaustion becoming evident. It honestly scares her to think that the infected are forced to sleep themselves to death by depravity over a dream. She has to figure out where is the start of it so that she can at least save Karakura from sharing the fate that befell Minatumi Harbor.

In Hanako’s Pub, Hoshiko works as a “tavern wench” or as Hanako calls her, “waiter.” It was weird for her to be dressed like a Japanese maid with a warm vest underneath to protect her from the cold. Leggings and sleeves are dark to match the maid outfit and to keep her warm also. She even has a turtleneck that is thin and dark enough to make her neck look more elegant and warm. But Hanako says it is to prevent thugs from slitting her throat while she is not looking. Why Hanako would be concerned over her like she is Hanako’s child. For the moment, Hoshiko was taking a break so she can catch her breath after scaring away four rats; these rats are huge comparing to the ones at the harbor; especially when one of them actually stand and talk like a corny stereotype of an American gangster! Hoshiko was about to tell Hanako about that, but Hanako shuts her up and gave her a seat to take a break, telling her that the scent of alcohol was getting to her and will take time to get used to. “Minatumi. Break’s over.” Hanako calls out to Hoshiko as Hoshiko’s thoughts break into pieces with the call for attention. “H-Hai!” Hoshiko acknowledges before getting up quickly and nearly stumbles a bit from the rise. Luckily a kind man caught her by the belly and hops her back on her feet. “Arigotto!” Hoshiko shyly thanks the guy before going back to her job as the waiter for the patrons who chooses to play billiards and the arcade machine or just watching sports so Hanako can get most of the customers to be satisfied.

She is the waiter and she is at least thankful that Hanako would let her stay in the pub instead of being out in the cold. Even thankful for clothes she was given, so she wants to return the kindness by working for her. Seeing her employer as a pregnant woman working in the pub as bartender and proprietor, Hoshiko sometimes ponder on the reason she was working like that instead of relaxing? She mentioned that she is married, but to who? Hoshiko has not seen her husband before and judging from how Hanako was carrying herself, she was worried about something involving her husband. Did something happen in the past or something? “Waiter! Foster’s here!” A man holds up his number card...16. Hoshiko pulls out the notepad from the apron pocket and writes down, “16 – Foster’s.” Hoshiko nods and shouts, “Hai!”, acknowledging that she has the order. Number card 12 raises up and shouts, “Wake Up Juice!” Hoshiko acknowledges and writes down, “12 – Wake Up.” After a while, she rips the page off and places it on the bar table for Hanako to read and fulfill. Hoshiko looks at the entrance and notices a woman entering, which is strange for this time and place. Of course, there are things that Hoshiko could not understand.

Upon entrance of the woman, Hoshiko walks up to the woman and gives a warm smile like a caring girl waiting for her big sister to come home. That feeling like walking home is what made the pub famous and infamous, though Hanako prefers it to be modest because it is more of a homely common house rather than something extravagant like a nightclub down the street. Hoshiko understands that Hanako was intending it to be like that, but it like prodding on one’s nerves for people to refer it like notable or notorious. “Welcome home to Hanako’s Pub! How may I-” Hoshiko makes her routine greeting to the woman, but she blatantly walks by her, which bothers Hoshiko. Hoshiko is still learning about the world that she is in now and even with a place to call home, Hoshiko gives that shy sorrow in form of a frown. “Foster’s and Wake Up Juice for 16 and 12! Come and get them!” Hanako shouts out to Hoshiko. Hoshiko nods and while Hanako was dealing with the woman, Hoshiko grabs the beer bottle and glass of brown juice. The beer bottle was chilled to the point that it subtly burns Hoshiko’s grasping hand while the brown juice was just as warm as the room. The two men raises their sign, “16” and “12”. She takes the beer to 16 and the juice to 12. 16 was with his buddies who are playing billiards while 12 is just a high school senior (as identified by Hanako somehow) who is trying to impress his girlfriend by taking on the juice that can wake the dead or so as Hanako told Hoshiko. Hoshiko thinks it would be fair to warn the boy about it. “Careful, sir. It is powerful enough to cancel out the knockout power of Karakura’s Ha-.” Hoshiko tries to warn, but the senior intervenes by barking, “Just hand the drink! I’m the king!” Hoshiko immediately recede her lips and her throat tightens to cut off her voice. She carefully hands the senior the drink and the senior abruptly snatches the glass out of her hand and a few droplets fell onto her exposed hand.

Without warning, the juice was drunk and the senior turns red and hops around while waving his hands towards his mouth while in a raspy, hushed voice, calls for water. It triggers an outrage of laughter to see a kid trying to best the Wake Up Juice and fails at it. However, Hoshiko was distracted with a new discovery of the blisters forming up on her hand from the juice. It itches badly to Hoshiko so she walks to Hanako, weaving through the crowd to the bar table. She shows Hanako the hand with blisters and innocently tells her, “It itches.” Hanako grabs her wrist and checks on it with attentive eyes, studying the blisters without having to cut it open. She then looks through the content of the first aid kit. That first aid kit was quite different from the plastic case kind, it was a burlap kind or was it canvas, but for all Hoshiko knows, it looks militaristic and it carries more than just a band aid and rubbing alcohol. She then pulls out a knife which makes Hoshiko slightly nervous about the inevitable pain. “It may sting a bit, but it is needed to get the alcohol into the blisters. I believe it is just minor contact allergy from the spices.” Hanako tells Hoshiko as she puts a wash cloth on the table, then Hoshiko’s hand over the wash cloth. Contact allergy? Meaning she is allergic to the spices only when in contact with them? She has not try any spices before, she even have to deal with plain, stripped fish and rice for a basic church living. Maybe that is why it is new to her all along. Suddenly, Hoshiko feels the sharp pain from the knife following by a burning sensation from the alcohol. Hoshiko reactively tightens her lips while biting her lower lip as her hand cringes with the mix of itch, burn and pinch. When Hanako wraps the bandages around the hand, the hand begins to feel warm and the pain suppressing itself. The bandages feel warm to Hoshiko as Hoshiko lowers her head to look at the bandages wrapped around her hand. Tears trickle involuntarily from the pain earlier as Hanako kisses her on the forehead like a mother does to her child when they are in pain. “Go upstairs. We will need a break.” Hanako tells Hoshiko while Hoshiko was feeling her hand in curiosity of how come the bandages made her hand feel warm and soothed all of the sudden. Hoshiko nods to Hanako and walks to the backroom and upstairs to change back to her normal clothes. Suddenly, Hoshiko hears a blast from the rooftop while drowned out by the uproar downstairs. She begins to go upstairs to find out what is going on up there because she recalls no one on the rooftop.

During the rush upstairs, she left the door unlocked for anyone to enter (explaining how Nakami manages to get to the rooftop without Hanako’s consent about entering her household upstairs.) Through the living room and the hallway, she reaches another stairway upstairs to the rooftop, where she notices two transparent beings sitting on the rooftop while looking up, she notices a hole in the city’s dome. That may be bad...maybe these two are intruders! Hoshiko rushes back down and notices a woman passing by her as she was getting Father Yamamoto’s Walking Stick. Entering Hanako’s room, she retrieves the walking stick and ran back upstairs to the rooftop. Like a clumsy farmer’s daughter defending the coop from foxes, Hoshiko looks ready to bash some heads if not given answers as to what is going on. “Who are you two?” Hoshiko asks with fear evident while she just notices the woman on the rooftop as well. “Miss, I thought no guests are allowed up here unless Hanako knows them as friends. Come and I’ll take you back downstairs because Hanako will be furious to see a stranger at her house.” Hoshiko questions the woman’s standing in the matter. “She is right about me not liking strangers in my house other than those I know as part of the family. But take it easy, Minatumi. The one on the right is my husband and the one on the left is my brother-in-law.” Hanako speaks as she manages to catch up to the ruckus. Hoshiko turns around to Hanako and lowers her staff, before looking at one transparent person to the next.
In the night sky, the stars are glittering peacefully without a care for the nay-sayers below. The clouds are hardly to be seen only to the normal eyes, but the sharp eyes can see them well enough to determine the rigid shapes. One was in shape of a dragon’s head; a sign of future glory, a crying angel; a sign of unnatural events, and a trio of skulls; a sign of a massacre. If pieced together, the battle ahead may involve elements of unnatural deaths for many people. The last cloud was the raven’s head; a sign of misery. To those who can remember the legends of the raven demon lord of misery, it is an animal insignia of TelcinVohlis. After the raven cloud passes by, the stars begins to fall subtly, but to those who are wary of fate that has already changed recently, it is a sign that there is something evil at work and it is messing with Fate, a terrible crime that can bring forth a cataclysm of events that can change the world and its people...
