I. Basic Information

» Name: Shé Longwei
» Alias: Wei, Teng (the flying snake dragon (hollow-title))
» Title: None as of yet.

» Age: 692
» Apparent Age: 17
» Birth-date: March 5, 1725
» Gender: Male

» Nationality: Oriental (Chinese)
» Sexual Orientation: Bisexual (Female preference)
» Association: Currently, Wei is a member of the 2nd Division's Kidō Corps, and has no intention of changing to another division any time soon. However, as he has only just joined their number from the academy, he is still seatless.

» Graduating Year: Soul Society Academy class of 2416.
» Residence: Wei lives within the barracks of Squad 2 due to lacking his own place outside of the Seireitei. He dreams of having somewhere independent to live, somewhere where he has privacy and peace, but he isn't rich enough to afford such things.

II. Appearance

» Height: 5' 9'' (176.03 cm)
» Weight: 61 kg (135.24 lbs)

» Body Type: Despite being comparatively short considering some of the giants of the Seireitei, Wei is actually rather tall for someone born when and where he was. Sitting comfortably at 5' 9'', square in the middle of the giants and the midgets, he enjoys the lack of attention that his relatively normal body brings.

In terms of physical stature, he is surprisingly well-built for someone who eats as much as he does. Back when he was first summoned into the Soul Society he was rather fat but preparation for the academy has seemingly gone a very long way in changing that fact.

That being said, as well-muscled and supple as his body is, he seems to struggle to draw a lot of attention to himself. Being quiet and vigilant, he's someone who can easily blend into the background, much to his own chagrin.

» Eyes and Hair: It is unknown what colour Wei's hair was originally, due to his lack of memories before the Soul Society, but ever since he's woken up in this world his hair has been the same colour as his eyes - a light blue. Were he anywhere else but the Soul Society it is very likely that this would allow him to draw attention, but considering his comrades it does little to stop him losing people's attention.

In terms of style and length, he has allowed it to grow out naturally, at this point reaching far onto his back and between his shoulder blades when his hair is let down. However, since long hair is a large threat whilst on the battlefield, he tends to wear it held up in a traditional chinese fashion, held up by a small headdress.

The one exception to this is in Gigai form, where he allows it to fall down and simply works with a ponytail in a modern fashion. His usual style would draw too much attention in the human world and whilst he would normally adore it he knows it's too dangerous to accept.

» Scars and Tattoos: Despite his relative lack of experience within the Gotei, Wei has somehow managed to get himself a rather nasty and prominent scar; a large burn mark covering the left side of his face, including his eye lid. He does not know how he got it, it was simply something that he was born with into this realm. He figured it was part of some former life, as all shinigami who aren't born naturally come from some other realm. An echo of a story that he doesn't know the plot to any more.

Still, he lacks any form of marking other than that. No other scars, no birthmarks and certainly no tattoos. In fact, the very idea of putting a tattoo onto his body is something that Wei is a little disgusted by. He sees it less as a point of pride and more like graffiti. It should be noted that he doesn't care about other people having tattoos, but he does not intend to get one himself.

» Attire: It almost isn't worth asking about Wei's choice of clothes as, due to being a low-ranking member of the Seireitei, he has next to no control over them. Wearing the uniform to the letter, his only real deviation from the norm is the headdress he uses to keep his hair up. That being said, one would be able to note that his uniform tends to be messy and dusty, usually from either training too hard or doing paperwork nobody else wants to do.

That being said, it is when he is allowed to come to earth that he actually wears things that could be considered of interest. A white t-shirt, a pair of faded blue jeans and a denim jacket, the man appears to be dressed as something out of the 70's whenever he comes to earth.

You might think this would draw attention and thus ruin his active attempt at obfuscating risks of detection. And it would. Or, at least, would if there wasn't a 400 year timegap.

» Reiatsu: At first sight, Wei would appear to be strange in the Seireitei in that he has no overt signs of reiatsu. No colour around him, his reiraku is subdued and more pink than white, and even his presence is hard to detect when not in an active fight that requires the usage of his full shikai.

This is for one reason, and one reason alone - special training. He was lucky enough to be granted additional training by his academy sensei rather than simply being thrown in the maggot's nest for having an unfortunate zanpakuto ability. Were it not for his expert training in this art, any trip to the human realm would create spiritually aware humans, so he attempts to keep a tight leash on his energy at any given time.

However, should he be forced to go all out and stop holding back, one would be able to note that his reiatsu is a very rich silver colour with speckles of green at the edges and, upon releasing his restraints, seems to explode off of him with extreme force. This is even strong enough to push tangible minor objects away like a particularly strong wind. It seems almost to resemble the aurora borealis in the way it surrounds him and lights up the area. It would be beautiful were it not for the extreme feeling of unease that it is associated with.

III. Personality

I. Positive Traits.

» Ambitious: Wei is someone to whom ambition comes naturally. He is someone who is never satisfied with what he has, always pushing further and working harder to get higher. Like a snake dislocating its jaw to eat prey larger than its body, Wei seems to actively push his own limits constantly; going without sleep, putting himself in harm's way, drawing negative attention to himself all to gain a higher rank and more respect.

» Focused: Like putting blinders on a horse, Wei is capable of completely limiting himself to one task at a time, wearing it down like a wave against a rock. This self-induced trance-like state allows him to go for multiple days without food or rest as long as he gains what he wants in the end, pursuing it like the hounds of hell.

» Hardworking: Due to the meditative techniques taught to him by sensei, Wei is capable of doing tasks that other people are unwilling to do, using it as a form of mental exercise to keep his mind off of things. This willingness to work beyond the norm is what helped him get such high scores in the academy, choosing to practice and refine his techniques over playing around.

» Polite: Something that comes from before his time in the Seireitei, Wei is extremely polite and deferential to his "betters", willingly being quiet and subordinate to officers and captains. This means that, despite some of his darker thoughts and intentions, his exterior is known as a respectful and decent man, someone to look up to like an idol, being the "valedictorian" of his graduating class.

» Quiet: Potentially a good or a bad thing, Wei is someone who doesn't do bombastic actions a lot. Putting his head down and working constantly, he tends to blend into the background because of his reserved way of acting and speaking. It is unlikely that people will come to know very much about him unless he becomes a captain or a lieutenant, and even then he refuses to talk about what his life was like before joining the Gotei 6.

II. Negative Traits

» Capricious: Despite having a quiet and polite demeanour on the outside, the inside is very different. Almost seeming to have mood swings, Wei is no stranger to quickly changing periods of very intense emotions, This is likely what got him killed in his first life, but lacking the ability to remember any of it he has completely failed to learn his lesson.

» Covetous: This is the defining trait of Wei - he hungers for more. More food, more women, more power, more respect. It is likely this greed is what corrupted his heart after death and turned him into a hollow in the first place. Still, snakes are known as creatures of great avarice, devouring prey even larger than themselves by swallowing them whole, so there should be no shame in fulfilling his destiny.

» Inexperienced: There are many within the Seireitei who have served for decades or even centuries, but Wei is fresh out of the academy. Were he somehow able to access the memories of his time as a hollow and as a human he would probably quickly become more powerful and knowledgeable, but who knows what else about his personality would change.

» Libidinous: This is perhaps the most surprising part of Wei's personality, but it's something that ties into his covetousness. His mind is something that's very sexual, very flirtatious, very carnal. It doesn't come out often as he tends to be focused on other things, but upon getting drunk or upon exiting a particularly long trance, it should be no surprise to find him trying to pick up someone at one of the many bars in the rukongai.

» Secretive: Another part of his quiet personality, Wei is someone to whom secrets are a second nature as he conceals a lot of himself beneath his placid and taciturn appearance. He is fantastic at hiding inner thoughts and feelings, and is known among his class for being as unreadable as a foreign language.

V. Equipment

» Artificial Soul: Souls designed by Shinigami scientists to separate a Shinigami's spirit from a Gigai, should they be inhabiting one, or to evict stubborn spirits from their corpses if necessary.

Despite not going into the human world that often, Wei has been granted use of an artificial soul in the form of Kaneshiro the frog. A serious but irritable personality that seems to try and pick arguments with humans who just happen to be standing around at the time. As such, Wei dislikes using it.

» Denreishinki: Otherwise known as Divine Messenger Machine, this is the electronic interdimensional communications device for missions within the Human World. Being a little more of a traditionalist, Wei's denreishinki still takes the form of a bluetooth headset that he can put into his ear to hear mission reports on the fly. He has repeatedly denied that he uses the bluetooth headset to listen to music during missions, but he is a filthy filthy liar.

» Gigai: Temporary bodies for shinigami to inhabit whilst in the world of the living, Wei is a little special in that he keeps it on him in the Soul Society as well, keeping it in the form of a tiny blue pill that enlarges when put into water. This was based on a creation by a genius captain of the tech-division many centuries ago made more manageable by the modern division.

» Gokon Tekkō: A device which forcibly removes the Soul from the body, this tool is used to forcibly make people exit their bodies (or gigai) to avoid them becoming a nuisance such as when people get stuck or refuse to leave. Whilst a lot of people allow their body to be infused with it, Wei dislikes the idea of having technology implanted into his body and so instead wears a skull-shaped ring that allows him to remove people from their body with but a touch.

» Kikanshinki: Sometimes known as Account-Replacing Spirit Device, this tool was originally used by Shinigami on humans who had seen Shinigami or Hollows many years ago. Just like with the Denreishinki and the artificial soul, he has been cleared for use of this item despite spending most of his time in the Seireitei.

VI. Skills

I. General Skills

» Offence: 65/100 (C)
Wei is at least a little competent in terms of offensive power. Having been a brawler in his human life all those years ago, there is some degree of muscle memory that makes him capable of standing up to other spirits. However, there is still a long distance between him and a true master, simply lacking the experience needed to fine-tune his abilities to the next level.

» Defence: 40/100 (E-)
The main area of overt weakness, and the area most embodying his lack of experience. Whilst Wei is quick at learning his lesson and knows his arts of war relatively well, he has many blindspots that an opponent could take advantage of and his stance isn't the strongest. Given time and experience he will develop far further, but for now he best relies on mobility rather than taking hits.

» Mobility: 60/100 (C-)
An area that Wei excels in. Hugely acrobatic with a good knowledge of his own body as well as the art of hoho, he is capable of dodging most attacks and can even make the life of most quincy and adjuchas-level hollows difficult in this regard. However, again, he needs a lot more experience to develop his flash-step to become good enough.

» Reiatsu: 80/100 (A-)
This is Wei's joint strongest area. A combination of his Shikai and his natural aptitude for the arts, Wei is hugely competent at Reiatsu manipulation to the point of being on the level of a seated-officer or even a lieutenant on his best of days. This is a facet of why his strongest skill is Hadō, and is something that he's had the most experience in dealing with.

» Intelligence: 80/100 (A-)
His joint strongest gift, Wei is someone who is hugely intelligent. Analytical, wise beyond his years, and quick to understand and work around others, he seemingly knows how to work the world around him even without a great deal of experience. If he is this smart without being granted the chance to get world-wise, who knows how far he'll go when granted the chance.

» Physical strength: 50/100 (D-)
This ability is a little strange. Wei, when he was a hollow, was someone who spread fear among the other hollows in the caverns, devouring them all without respite. Yet, since becoming a Shinigami, he has lacked the same physical might. Whilst not hugely deficient in any major way, he seems to specialise more in the metaphysical and mental than in the purely physical.

» Average: 75/100 (B)

II. Racial Skills

» Hakuda: 65 / 100 (C)
An art that Wei is somewhat competent in, Hakuda is something that Wei is capable of standing on his own in. However, due to his preference for long-distance combat, Wei has had little experience with this art. Given a few lessons he could probably develop much further, but for now he's stuck at merely being "competent".

» Hoho: 70 / 100 (B-)
An art that Wei is a natural with, he is very handy when it comes to high-speed movement, using it with his natural acrobatic abilities to leap across battlefields and overwhelm people when paired with his kido. He is also capable of using some minor techniques, such as Senka and Utsusemi, although these are easier to block or see through than a true master.

» Kidō: 85 / 100 (A)
Without a doubt Wei's strongest ability, it is unclear whether it was his time as a hollow that paired his soul with the ability to manipulate energy so well or whether it's simply luck and biology, but whatever the case he is a true master of the demon arts. Kaidō, Bakudō, Hadō, he has knowledge of them all although he specialises in offensive hadōs, capable of reaching up to #85, and can use up to #70 without using incantations.

» Zanjutsu: 60 / 100 (C-)
Just like Hakuda, this is an art that he is somewhat competent with but which greatly suffers from lack of experience. Whilst his lessons with controlling reiatsu and his shikai form have allowed him a level of competency with his blade as an item, he has less use of it as a weapon, likely being part of why he chose the kidō corps instead of any of the other squads.

>> Average:[/b] 74 / 100 (B-)

VII. Zanpakutô

I. Zanpakutô Spirit

» Zanpakutô Name: Hebirasu (蛇ラス ("Hebi-" from Snake, "-Rasu" from "Kuiarasu" for "Devour"; Lit. "Devouring Snake"))

» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: With a name like Hebirasu, what else could the spirit be but a snake? Hebirasu does not, in that regard, fail to meet expectations. However, Hebirasu does something that's quite strange among spirits, and that something has some worrying connotations - It changes.

Hebirasu is always a snake - or, more accurately, a pair of conjoined snakes; one black with white splotches and a white mask upon its face, the other white with black splotches and a black birthmark upon its face. This is a fixed constant and will never change. What does change, however, is the size of the thing.

Back when Wei was originally taught how to access his zanpakutô spirit in the academy, the snakes were tiny, pathetic little things no bigger than newborns. As such, the threatening personality of the one he came to refer to as Hēisè was almost comical. Since then, they have grown exponentially larger, apparently increasing with his own spiritual growth, growing larger the more his zanpakutô devours the spiritual energy of others. As such, they are currently up to his waist and stretch out to around 10 meters.

Whilst this might not be terrifying considering the zanpakutô spirits of others, this does seem to suggest something terrifying for the future. Should he ever grow to the level of a captain or a zero-division member, who knows how large they will grow to be?

Spoiler:

» Zanpakutô Spirit Personality: Despite technically being one body, Hebirasu is akin to most conjoined animals in that rather than being just one malformed creature it is, in fact, two spirits borne within the same body. The black and white halves each have their own independent personality, something which furthers the comparison between Yin and Yang. As such, they should be looked at as separate personalities.

The black half, Hēisè, is a very pessimistic creature. Constantly negative and always assuming the worst, she is someone Wei finds it hard to get along with. Yet, nonetheless, she is the one who seems to be the most worried about Wei, acting like a surrogate maternal figure.

She seems to want Wei to develop and keep safe, although how much of that is her wanting to protect herself and how much of it is actual concern for her shinigami is unclear. On the times they've clashed in the past, she seemed to be the most reluctant to go for the kill, instead just throwing Wei around and slamming her with her weight.

The white half, Báisè, is her complete opposite. Positive, effervescent, and always acting as the more dominant of the two spirits, he is the one who seems to take charge the most. He even attempts to actively boss Wei around whenever he enters the world, treating him less like a partner and more like a vassal.

He is also a lot more selfish, seemingly unwilling to share his secrets with his wielder as it would equal the playing field. He seems to disdain Hēisè's maternal instincts, wanting Wei to become stronger on his own or it doesn't count. During times they've fought, he's actively tried to swallow Wei and rip him apart with his fangs.

» Inner World Appearance: Hebirasu's inner world is, compared to the two of them, rather pleasant. It is a rather large forest, with the world around him stretching out in all directions without an end in sight. Even ascending to the highest tree in the area just allows one a view of a forest that stretches out in all directions forever. No mountains, no streams, no interruptions.

The one thing about the world that seems to change is the season and weather inside the forest. The season appears to change depending on the quality of Wei's health when he enters the inner world. Should he be unhurt it will appear to be a beautiful spring with blooming trees all around him. Should it seem like he's about to die, the world will become a withered forest in winter, bare trees and no shelter in sight, the very ground itself soaked with a frost that's killing all the grass and life in the area.

The weather, on the other hand, changes based upon his emotions, both upon entering and thereafter. The following list can be used to understand the inner workings of Wei's personality during entrances into the world of his zanpakutô.

Sunny | Contentment, emotional stability, happiness.
Cloudy | Confusion, Emotional instability, Unsure.
Rainy / Snowy | Miserable, pessimistic, sad.
Storm (Blizzard or Thunder) | Angry, demanding, indignant.
Foggy / Misty | Afraid, nervous, scared.

Spoiler:

II. Sealed Zanpakutô

» Sealed Zanpakutô Appearance: Hebirasu, for the most part, looks to be a normal zanpakutô - Crystallised into the form of a kodachi that he wears on his hip, stretching out 54 cm in length and thus being far less impressive than other blades of his compatriots, the blade lacks any real notches or special patterns.

If anything, the blade seems to represent his relative newness to the force of the Gotei 6 as it lacks any sign of overt use. It has, of course, been used a few times during his time at the academy but other than that it's remained sheathed for as long as he's had it.

What is truly unique about the blade, however, is the sheath and the hilt of the blade. Where most zanpakutô are wrapped in some sort of cloth, Wei's blade is wrapped in snakeskin leather. This causes it to stand out from the crowd, even though he tends not to use it as much as some members of other divisions might due to his general reliance on kidō.

Furthermore, rather than looking as if the zanpakutô was wrapped in the leather taken from one snake, the sheath and the hilt seem to be from two different ones - the hilt being black with occasional white splotches with the bottom being the inverse. It truly seems almost like he's skinned Hebirasu itself for use on his blade.

» Sealed Zanpakutô Power: Hebirasu is best defined as a zanpakutô that eats. Like the legendary snakes of history that ate everything and anything that it could obtain, even things that it could not truly swallow, Hebirasu is at once a truly powerful and dangerous blade to wield.

In its sealed state, it is as if the blade is asleep, resting comfortably and eating only what comes into its immediate vicinity and disturbs its rest. As such, rather than actively dissolving and devouring the world around it, it simply eats energy that has already been released, adding it to Wei's biomass.

This power could be compared to Osmosis; When a large amount of energy is released near him, his blade begins to devour the raw energy that is released, weakening his opponent ever so slightly and allowing him to grow in power. Whilst this is so slight to most opponents that they would never even realise they've been taken from, when this power is active every hour of every day aroud far more powerful people it begins to add up quickly.

Troublingly, this power seems to suggest a connection between Wei and his hollow past. Hollows survive by devouring weaker beings and adding their reiatsu and strength to the overall biomass of the creature. Should someone come to understand the truth behind Wei's powers, they could compare this power to being akin to a vaizard - a shinigami wielding the powers of a hollow. This is further accented by this blade causing him to have kinship with the more primal of hollows, furthering any potential suspicion.

Another major problem with this power is the risk that it generates to the world around him. Like osmosis, this power also risks granting other people the ability to absorb the now raw and untouched energy of things that Hebirasu is preying upon. Were he not careful to avoid leaving potential debris lying around, like leaving behind a carcass of a devoured meal, it is possible that nearby living things might absorb the energy themselves, generating the growth of spiritual awareness.

It is for this reason that he recieved a large amount of private tutoring by his academy sensei, triggering his greater expertise in arts revolving around the use of reiatsu. He needs to maintain perfect control at all times, only eating what he needs and not leaving any spare, or else he would become a nuisance to his faction.

III. Shikai (False)

» Shikai Release Phrase: Gorge, Shibōhebi! (脂肪ヘビ ("Shibō-" from "fat", "-hebi" from Snake, ; Lit. "Fat Snake"))

» Cause: Tied to the extreme danger and risk of hurting allies that comes with fully activating his shikai, Wei was taught a way of semi-activating his shikai. By calling out a name that infuriates his zanpakuto spirit into not wanting to work with him properly, he only activates a semi-active state, only gaining half of its power and thus half of its risk.

This ability is rumoured to have been developed by an ex-member of the 11th division, although nobody has been able to confirm it properly.

By insulting the spirit of his blade, he draws attention to their weight and thus puts them off their food, eating like someone who's trying to lose weight. As such, rather than dissolving everything around him into its pure reishi, they simply break apart things with no physical form into its latent energy (e.g. Quincy arrows or hadō

» Shikai Appearance: Caught somewhere between the sealed form and the released form, Shibōhebi appears to visually be a mix of the two. The snake skin of the hilt and the sheath begin to crawl up his body, wrapping around his arms and looking more like bandages than anything else.

Whilst the blade disappears in a true activation of his powers, the blade is kept in the false activation. However, it becomes impossible to take out of his hand as the handle's snakeskin extends around the hand holding it, joining up to his right elbow. As such, he is heavily limited in this form, only being able to use kidō he can wield one-handed

Unlike the Shikai which moves around actively like a pair of snakes wrapping around his body, they remain lifeless on his body, thus representing a dormant state as they have not fully awakened yet. As this is the only form he's used since receiving his sensei's lecture, very few people have been able to see the truth of his weapon.

» Shikai Abilities: Like his true shikai, Shibōhebi is a blade that eats. However, rather than dissolving the world around him into its latent reishi and devouring it wholesale, it simply devours things that have no physical form. Ripping apart energy constructs into their latent energy potential and devouring it, it acts like a form of barrier.

Weapons like the Quincy arrows, Arrancar bala and cero, traitor shinigami's Hadō and Kidō and so forth are returned to the energy they were created from and become constituted into Wei's overall biomass, allowing him to weave his own powers with more energy.

However, whilst this is very powerful against long-ranged combatants like the Quincy, this does make him somewhat useless against purely offensive opponents like Adjuchas or members from the combat division. It also makes it more difficult for him to obtain his bankai form the more that he uses this power, as it is obtained through insulting his spirit and thus making the relationship more fractious.

IV. Shikai

» Shikai Release Phrase: Gorge, Hebirasu!

» Shikai Appearance: Hebirasu, in its full shikai form, is a far sight from most shikai in that it isn't a weapon at all. In fact, the weapon that he typically wields is dissipated into energy, leaving him with but his bare hands.

Upon activation, the snake-skin crawls up his arms, looking like a pair of actual snakes as they move. However, rather than the false-state where they stop at his elbows, they continue up his entire body, wrapping around his neck like some sort of serpentine scarf.

Resting upon his neck and shoulders like a pair of snakes, they actively remain moving, looking directly at the person that Wei is fighting at all times, or alternatively splitting up and looking at one each if he finds himself fighting multiple people at once.

What is particularly strange about this activation is the strange properties of the weapon. Whilst one might assume they could attempt to garrote Wei with his own shikai, it seems truly immovable and solid to anyone who attempts that strategy. It can be used as a point to grab him, but doing so will actively feel like their hand is being burned through with spiritual energy. No actual damage will occur, merely extreme pain.

» Shikai Abilities: The appearance of the shikai is extremely appropriate for its power-set, as rather than being an offensive power in the typical meaning, it is a power that’s far more supplementary than anything else. It is, to put it simply, an extreme form of reishi absorption.

Upon activation of his Shikai, Hebirasu will actively begin to devour the world around it, breaking apart the very structures and people around him when it is used and turning them into the pure energy they come from to feed to Wei. Essentially, if he is existing within the spirit world (either the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, or any of the worlds/tunnels between the two) it is almost impossible for him to run out of energy.

However, the problem with this shikai is that it is constantly active when unsealed. It breaks apart everything within 50 meters of Wei, allies and enemies alike. This will not kill without extended exposure, instead feeling like their body is being burned by a kidō, but it does mean that it is very difficult to use whilst in a team formation. It is for this reason that he tries to avoid overly depending on the power of this shikai since it can destroy pluses and severely injure his allies if overexposed.

The additional powers granted by this new fuel source are as follows:

Empowered Kidō
Due to suddenly having a huge excess of spiritual pressure, Wei can supercharge his kidō, no matter whether they're bakudō, hadō or something else entirely. Whilst it does not fundamentally change the type of kidō, Wei’s usage will vastly change the effect of their powers.

For example, a barrier bakudō that would normally only be able to protect against hadōs under 60 would now be able to protect against hadōs up to 70, or even 80 if he focuses all his concentration and energy upon them.

Fuel Source
The most obvious use of this new reiatsu source is to be used as a general fuel source. Replenishing the energy lost before he activated his shikai, allowing him to perform abilities that would normally be above his level, even temporarily improving his physical attributes.

Barrier
Like with Shibōhebi, Wei is capable of absorbing any non-physical attacks that are thrown towards him, physically absorbing any energy-based attack below his own mastery or heavily weakening the ones above it. This, however, is bolstered to even being able to absorb bankai and shikai non-physical attacks, lowering their damage potential exponentially whilst this is active. Again, this grants no change to physical attacks, apart from ones relying on manipulation of energy like shunkō.

Purification
This is the strangest ability of Wei's shikai. Due to losing its physical form as a weapon, one might assume that it would deprive him of the ability of purifying hollows and rogue souls when they're killed. However, this is not true. Instead, as the reishi runs through his shikai on the way into his body proper, it grants the purification ability of his zanpakutô to any of his spiritual attacks.

V. Bankai

[NOTE: LOCKED UNTIL DISCOVERED IN CHARACTER]

» Bankai Name: Sekai Hebirasu (世界蛇ラス ("Sekai" from "World", see above for Hebirasu. Lit. "World-devouring Snake", also known as the Jörmungandr, the snake that symbolises the destruction of the world.))

» Bankai Appearance: This is the point where Hebirasu is truly alive. In its sealed form the snakes are asleep and in its shikai form it's awake but passive. This is the point where they truly become active and become tangible, becoming part of the world like they once were in Hueco Mundo.

Placing the blade or scarf onto the floor, the floor below the "offering" begins to melt into a giant pool of black, the terrifying liquid swallowing up the weapon and hardening into what looks like a giant portal on the floor.

The size of the portal will change depending on how large Hebirasu is at this point, as seconds later the snakes themselves will come rocketing out of the hole, devouring anyone not Wei foolish enough to be standing on the portal at the time of its opening and moving around like the depictions of a Chinese dragon, flying through the air as it does so.

The snakes take the exact same form as they did whilst in the inner world, bickering and acting as they normally would even though they're both overjoyed to be able to be in the real world once more.

» Bankai Abilities: The bankai's ability is simple but truly horrifying - they are the snakes that eat. They act as they were always destined to, taking the world apart piece by piece and devouring it for its raw energy. In this form, Báisè will open his mouth to its furthest extent and charge forwards, swallowing everything into its gullet and breaking them down into their raw energy. This will destroy anyone and anything caught inside its mouth, capable of destroying entire city streets and captain-rank enemies in its thoughtless consumption.

However, as many experts will tell you, snakes do not just eat. Like cows, they regurgitate their food before eating it again. This part is embodied most by Heise who shares her stomach with her companion and thus is able to draw out the entire energy that's stored inside their stomach for use in "regurgitation", spewing the contents of their stomach all over the field in a wave of acidic juices that dissolve anything they touch into even more reishi.

Should they vomit immediately after eating, many pieces of larger constructs will remain within the spewed liquid - Skyscrapers used as giant weapons via being carried along as debris on the wave, even particularly powerful individuals who somehow managed to protect themselves before they were eaten. It is through this method that Wei will survive even if he is consumed through his own bankai by mistake.

Of course, as giant snakes, they are also very physically imposing. Moving extremely quickly and being very physically tough and hard to penetrate, it is considered to be a terrifying demon in its own regard.

This power is the embodiment of Hebirasu - a vile, horrifying thing that will desecrate the entire world to get what it wants; more. Simply more. More power, more "respect", more fear, more attention. More begetting more begetting more infinitely.

V.Shikokai

[NOTE: LOCKED UNTIL DISCOVERED IN CHARACTER]

» Shikokai Name / Release Phrase: There is no beginning, there is no end. There is but the coil! Behold, as I swallow my tail and choke - Jiko Hebirasu!

(じこ蛇ラス ("Jiko" from "Self", see above for Hebirasu. Lit. "Self-devouring Snake", also known as the Ouroboros. The snake that eats itself, representing the lack of a beginning or an end to existence.)

[strike]» Shikokai Appearance: This is the final evolution of Hebirasu. In its earlier forms it was asleep, then woken, then brought forth, and finally the shikokai comes from a fusion of man and sword into a single ultimate being. A violation of the partnership between Zanpakuto and master, becoming one shared consciousness and being.

In this form, Wei's hair is turned from its natural shade of blue to being a mix of black with white splotches and white with black splotches, each being one symmetrical part of his body. His hair seems to pull up like the sentient snakes of a gorgon's hair, creating a monstrous appearance even before you get to the rest of his body.

His biology becomes far more serpentine - his eyes become yellow and slitted, his tongue rips apart and becomes forked and his skin develops scales. Paradoxically, this form is utilised to become strong enough to protect something, but will almost certainly cause anyone who looks at it to turn away in disgust.

All the while his skin begins to peel off like a snake shedding its skin, the debris falling off and disintegrating into the air itself. His body begins to wear itself down as a fuel source, turning his skin all at once to look like the burn mark on his face before slowly consuming his skin, his muscles, his bones, even his very life energy. He is turning himself into the ultimate fuel, sacrificing every soul and every bit of energy that has ever comprised his being into a giant bonfire of power.

» Shikokai Abilities: This ability is the pinnacle of Wei's power. Rather than eating energy, or the world itself as his bankai does, this power allows him to eat himself. Consuming all of the energy ever devoured by his bankai, his shikai, his sealed form, and even the reishi that forms his body. It is the ultimate pyrrhic victory - sacrificing everything to ensure the survival of others.

Should he be careful with its use, this ability is possible to stop midway through. avoiding consuming his full body. However, even the most momentary use will send him to the hospital afterwards due to the extreme physical toll it takes on his form. He will need time between uses to restore his energy and his power before being able to tap into this again.

This horrifying reality is based off of a single premise - That simply "existing" is not enough. That simply "having" is not enough. As this power is one that will inevitably kill Wei if he uses it for too long, he needs to find something he values more than himself, something that would allow him to surpass his fear of death to protect, whether that be a person, an institution, or something else entirely.

IX Role Play Sample

» Roleplay Sample: [N.B. This is from a Fate site where I played Arthur Pendragon, in a thread with Sir Galahad]

Again - it was raining again. It felt like it had rained every single day since Byron had disappeared.... he didn't think that he would miss someone that violent and difficult to be around, and yet in her absence he was lost trying to find what to do next.

He couldn't win the grail war without a master, after all.

Arthur had tried to focus on other things - he had gone around the country, he had looked at old places to do with the development of this nation that he hoped one day to rule, but where he had once been so sure of his potential, so driven to obtain what he believed was destined to be his once again, now? Now it felt as if he was a ship without air in his sails - he had hit a deadly still.

That was why he was walking towards a bus shelter in the middle of the capital - He had wanted to come to this place to see more of what his nation had become in his absence, and it was true that if he wanted to he could easily run back to the home that he had once shared with his master. It would take maybe an hour with his speed, and such was little more than a triviality .

But, truth be told, it felt like a pointless triviality.

In Camelot, there was always rays of hope. He may have lost friends and loved ones, he might have had his ambitions dashed time and again, but there was always a way to overcome, there was always at least a chance to improve the world for the better, even if the odds were stacked against them there was a way to move forwards to a potentially better future.

Even in Morgain's grasp, as loathe as he was to think about those nightmarish times, there was the knowledge that he may one day be rescued. He wasn't sure, on balance, which he preferred - torture at the hands of someone he had tried to put faith in knowing that there was a chance of being rescued, or this deadly still where there was no longer any hope for the future.

There was no doubt about it; His inertia was killing him more than Morgain ever could. Or, perhaps, it was just so long ago that he had forgotten the true meaning of that pain.

Arthur could feel the presence of another servant, and knew that if he continued walking in this direction that the likelihood of them meeting was almost 1:1. Yet his course did not change, his gaze did not lift up from the pavement, his eyes covered by rain-slicked strands of blonde hair. If he was to get into a fight, at least that would bring some activity into his life and perhaps get him jump-started.

Slipping inside the bus shelter, he took a seat without looking around. If he had looked but 70' to his left, he would have seen a lilac-haired man who he had not seen in almost two millennia, but he did not.

For Galahad's part, the man who stood before him looked so different to the great king of knights that he once knew that it was almost hard to connect the two - the bright, sparkling eyes that roared with ambition and charm seemed dark and listless, his hair that shone with light was wilted and knotted, and that ever-present smile that had once been worn so proudly upon his features were gone.

He looked more like a corpse than the people Galahad had actually killed.
