The occasional Check-up... [Moose and Pammy]

Giggling to herself, and even letting some of her amusement show, she looked on at Neviah. Crystal hadn't quite gotten the chance to speak to her before, and she was realizing she was mistaken not to do so. There was likely a lot she didn't know about the lady. Some would be shown and revealed to her throughout the recurrent tests and some of it would likely remain hidden, seeing as her being itself was one of enigmatic qualities. Nevertheless, though she knew better than become personally attached to her work, the fellow Captain possessed natural qualities that made it a chore not to get endeared to her. Crystal, being who she was and with the position that she held, possessed great professionalism and easily separated her work and duties from her feelings. Tending to and studying live individuals was different. Special was not quite the best way to describe it; it was just different.

Smiling back at her she looked at Neviah's hands, carefully positioned in front of her body. It didn't take a genius to figure out she was troubled. There wasn't any reason for Crystal to dig and ask unnecessary questions of her thought. She was certain she would learn what she needed to know and what the Captain would be willing to share with her. In time, either through more tests or Neviah's willing attitude, and perhaps even both, she would learn more. "Ah yes, I can't say I know what they are all attempting" she added scanning the area to look at the ladies nearby hard at work. At the 12th division there was always work to do. Granted, whenever there was anything like free time or an occasion where Kyu would take Crystal out to drink, it was nothing more than delaying work and procrastinating. It was also part of why Crystal disliked going on such outings. Regardless of how much she worked, nothing would ever get caught up, but she enjoyed believing she worked to her limitations and neared the completion of her responsibilities. Unless Crystal was directly involved with an experiment, she would likely never know what a certain member was tinkering with. Occasionally she would check on them and their progress and analyze which project they are currently undertaking. The division was a big family, and they each worked towards success. Granted, the guys would not be too comfortable during that day as they had all been sent to work elsewhere in anticipation to Neviah's arrival, but it was only for a while.

Exhaling slowly, she made sure to smile quite big for the lady. They were both Captains. Though for the time being Crystal was in charge of her and Neviah would likely had to follow her commands, she didn't like the idea of being seen as ruling or superior enforcing being; even if her job demanded it so to her members. Extending her arm she took a hold of Neviah's hand, much like younger kids do. Moving on the opposite direction, not really running but rather speed walking at a near jogging speed, she would pull Neviah with her. Though it was nearly impossible to make out from the way she was facing, there were the ever so subtle veiled giggles escaping Crystal. In less than a minute they would get to her office. For the most part, the tests would be conducted in the lab. In fact, it was there where they would be conducted in the future. But she had her reasons for choosing her office during the first time. "I hope you don't mind the look of the place" she said happily with eyes closed. Crystal was one to belief that the best information and the highest quality one is the one obtained at face value through natural observations. She would definitely need to do some tests on Neviah, but she had already obtained most of the vital information during her conversation with her. Though she had truly enjoyed speaking to her and meant everything that was said, she had been analyzing every word, every motion and behavioral pattern of her fellow Captain. She would reserve to herself the specifics that would appear on her report, but there didn't seem to be anything troubling.

Reaching under her desk, she pulled out a medium sized machine. On one end, there was a headset-like apparatus that naturally went around Neviah's head. The headset was connected by a thick wire that connected onto a small platform-like device that would project certain readings and numerical values on the screen. The readings would likely be meaningless to Neviah as they would only make sense to Crystal whom would then, post test, look for certain changes that deviated from the normal and expected responses. "Don't worry," she assured her, "It won't hurt a thing." Crystal had really gone the extra mile for Neviah. She had ensured that her first set of tests with her were pleasant. She had purposely picked the office as to not further stress the Captain and let her adapt for the future tests in the lab. The more laid back look of the office should also have allowed her to see Crystal as a much more approachable woman. To further her comfort, she had even installed an add on onto the headset apparatus. As soon as Neviah put it on, it would be as if a virtual reality was interposed with the real world. From some of her travels to the real world she had taken a liking to the television programs they had aired in the past and had even managed to take samples and recordings from some of them. As Neviah looked on, it would look as if a child's show played just to the left of where Crystal stood. If she did not like it, turning the feature off was quite simple and Crystal could do it by tapping on a button on the screen.
