  • Reasons For Upgrading: Been puttin' in the work with ASRA and all her upgrades recently, so that + Neoveta entering Akranes with Chikara and her, I feel some form of upgrades are necessary for survival and character progression purposes!
    What Are You Upgrading: Release Form - VALKYRIE

    Notable Form Changes

    Her external clothing is made out of nanites clasping firmly to each other. In this form, however, due to the increase in energy, these nanites appear to "activate", increasing the Main Unit's durability to master level. The frilly cloth dress becomes a skin tight blue suit, with glowing gold led slots on the back in four different places. Two of the slots contain minor rapid propulsion jets, which boost the unit forward short distances (15-30 feet) at speeds reaching up to mach 2.5. Whereas the uppers slots contain two rectangular metal bars made of the same durable material as her suit. These contain major propulsion jets, which are capable of indefinite usage under ideal energy circumstances. They do not propel at such a high speed, but instead hold the unit in the air, allowing hovering, or omnidirectional flight at speeds of up to 600 mph. They hold the appearance of blue flame wings. Her yet unnamed blade (which I will put into Equipment shortly) Opens out into two separate short blades, the center of which becomes a controlled output photon beam sword (But don't worry about that, that's just what it looks like. I'll put both forms into an equipment thread, as I said earlier). Her eyes become a glowing hue of gold, and if one saw them in the dark, they'd be found to even give off a strong ray of light like a police flashlight.

    Functional Changes

    Energy Self-Sufficiency: Ever heard of those wireless chargers? The ones where you have one receiver and one transmitter and the battery gets charged like that? Well strap that receiver onto ASRA, and the transmitter onto a satellite mid-orbit, and you have a now energy self sufficient ASRA, able to charge her energy rapidly even without sunlight being in the immediate area. This Satellite becomes necessary in her VALKYRIE form, which consumes an amount of energy that would cripple her had she not some form of supplement to it. All attacks that would normally consume energy do not exhaust her energy reserve. Using portals however, still requires some measure of internal energy on her behalf. This energy is recharged after 1 post.

    The Satellite: The satellite fires off a beam of pure photonic energy, which is an equivalent to a bolt of positive lightning. This can usually cut through most inclement weather and other such barriers that might be blocking a clear path to ASRA. However, when the satellite is not on her side of the planet, a form of radiation is emitted, which her nanites can pick up on, and harness as (less) energy, but still a steady flow. ASRA is already skilled with lightning based attacks, so attacking her with one would not disrupt the flow, as the photons are being converted to electricity as well by her nanites. She would merely convert even the lightning (unless it's like super OP lightning that could kill her) into energy as well.

    High Energy Output Weapons: ASRA's lightning based attacks, supplemented greatly by the power of the satellite, are now capable of equaling an actual bolt of lightning in voltage. Where originally it was ten thousand volts (equivalent to a really deadly taser), that number increases into the millions. The same rings true with all high energy output weapons she previously could not use. They now become usable indefinitely under ideal energy circumstances (such as when the satellite is still providing supplemental energy). This does not however mean she can spam them, cooldowns and usage limiters still apply, but the rapid replenishment of the energy required to use them makes the amount she can use drastically increased.

    On that note, her barrier also increases in strength. Forming higher strength lightning to block attacks, it can now resist twice as many blows per barrier from each respective level of opponent, save Grand Master. As always, making a massive barrier will still drain a high amount of energy, but it can be used indefinitely as a small side-arm Shield (provided it's not attacked, that is, it will still break like any other barrier from that).

    Photon Based Optical Camouflage: This camouflage is usable for only one post at a time, with a short cooldown of two posts. It is mainly to be paired with portal usage for swift sneak attacks on the enemy, or stealthy relocation to another area. Making attacks that utilize energy, or would normally utilize energy, causes the camouflage to dissipate-- lighting her body up briefly in a bright flash that is almost equivalent to a flashbang.

    Offensive Support Nanites: Along with the nanites that make up her hyper durable suit, another type of nanites become activated with this mode's release. These nanites emit no notable spiritual energy, and are quite capable of being controlled remotely at a distance reaching up to 30 feet. What they do is, unless destroyed by a strong enough attack, latch themselves onto a subject, and begin draining and converting spiritual energy from them into usable energy for either the unit, the unit's repair systems, or the external suit in case of Satellite failure due to unforeseen circumstances (like a hurricane or some shit -- like it being shot out of the sky). They are particularly hard to see (some might say invisible, given their near sub-cellular level size), but are accompanied by a swirling lightning crackling around the target being drained. They can be used until their energy runs out. If they do not gather energy from an opponent or other source, they will be returned to the unit after 3 posts of use, for a cooldown of 3 posts while they charge off her on-board energy. The amount of energy stolen is equivalent to a maximum of 25% of the energy of the target. They perform this very quickly, depending on the energy amount of the person in question or very slowly if they have a lot of energy. They can move 30 feet per second, which is to say, hellsa fast. They can get to their target (if within range) as fast as a single second. They do possess a small overshield for unwieldy effects such as flaming auras or other dangerous on-the-target effects, but it can only withstand aura based effects for a maximum of one post before the overshield falls.

    Increased Efficiency of Repair Nanites: The nanites that regularly heal ASRA no longer require scrap metal, so long as the part removed is placed into the area it was removed from. This goes for all appendages, and so long as a lethal blow to the cranial processor is not incurred, the torso as well. This means that even if decapitated, if the unit manages to place it's head back onto it's own body, it can continue functioning properly. That being said, the only place now considered to be a critical blow is the head area. All other blows in this form will be inconsequential, and easily repaired within one or two posts, depending on how many limbs are severed, what type of damage was suffered etc. A pizza sized hole would likely take 3-4 posts to repair, although this is done passively. However, a pizza sized hole applied directly to the forehead like some head-on shit = death. Make sense? Good. They can only repair so much however, before needing a cooldown of 3 posts to recharge off of onboard energy. After 5 major repairs, the cooldown activates, and ASRA enters that one mode that bosses enter where you can hit them and do actual damage and you get all happy cause you were hitting for days and couldn't do more than 2 damage, so you threw your controller, but ran to grab it cause they entered their weak mode (Except this isn't a weak mode, her repair nanites simply stop functioning in this manner for 3 posts).

Go ahead and define what it can resist in a list like I did in the last check. This is just to make it clear what it can resist. Define some examples of attacks so people are aware of what they are dealing with.

I don't mind hte stuff like the nanites as I'm sure more ingenious opponents can think of ways to counter them. As long as they can perceive it in some form or another, I don't mind the stuff like Offensive Support Nanites. I'd just put a quantity limit on them or some means to put a cooldown on the amount of times it can be used. Whether it be through energy or mental, it doesn't really matter to me.

The same should be applied to the repair of nanites thing listed in the last section. Make it clear what can make it dysfunctional. You can repair yourself all you want, but at some point you do reach a breaking threshold. So make that more obvious and typed clearly.

Alright, one of my first assignments was to review this upgrade and there's a few things I see that could be fixed, mostly just informational stuff.

First off, some links to show off notable achievements and threads that SAI was in so that there's known reasons for why she would get an upgrade like this would be nice. Examples could just simply be heavily taxing things to spur her nanites and all that into upgrading, or threads that directly stated giving her body upgrades and such. This is just so there's, well, more knowledge on how it's all been obtained and how those threads impacted her enough to improve.

Next off, I think something that can be addressed is the difference of the energies she receives from the satellite. What type of energy is sent to her through it? Is it electrical, solar, nuclear, spiritual? Along with that, is there ways for the energy being sent to her to be effected? Such as if the satellite is on the other side of the planet while a massive storm blocks the way, would the flow of energy be reduced or cancelled? If SAI was struck by a powerful lightning based attack, would it be able to disrupt the intake of energy from this satellite, or would it act as a booster?

Last thing are the offensive nanites. One thing that I'm curious about is how fast can they move through the air? Are they able to move just as fast as SAI herself and essentially auto-dodge almost everything in order to get a guaranteed hit in? Do they have a much slower speed so that people could react to them instead? Along with this, just how much do they drain from a person spiritually? Do they drain as much as a cero would drain per post, more, less?

These are the few things I saw that could be expanded on a bit more.
