Gabriel The Dragon
~We ran like vampires from a thousand burning sons
But even then we should have stayed
But we ran away~

The powerful wingbeats of a merciless dragon pounded through the air as he soared high above the rooftops of Karakura town. Although Gabriel was young, he was fierce. Normally a nice creature, he had been warped by a hollow temporarily and was now what all legends said he should be. A monster. Because of his humanity, the 'owner' of this dragon was not able to follow him to the skyline, and he had to employ shinigami to do his dirty work, as it were. With another powerful beat of his wings, Gabriel flew on over the city, oblivious to the coming danger. Roaring loudly in the sky, the high sun reflected brightly off of his black scales. Swishing his tail systematically, it kept his balance in the air, and did a hell of a job at it. Throwing his head backwards, his roaring increased in volume. Lowering his head once more, he rose higher into the air, slinking into the minor clouds. Breathing fire into them, they slowly began turning black. It did not take long before more clouds joined together with the black cloud.

After 45 minutes, the perfectly sunny day had turned into a dreary, overcast day. And then Gabriel heard it. The sound put a perfect smile on his face that stretched from ear nub to ear nub. It was the sound of impending death and perfect despair. Flinging down through the base of his fluffy floor, he shot towards the city as a black meteorite. His legs and wings were folded tightly against his body, his tail swished behind him rhythmically. Opening his mouth, he inhaled briefly before launching a large ball of purple and orange fire that soon engulfed him. Rotating in his descent, he quickly turned into a tornado-like entity that loomed closer and closer to earth. Beside him stood a tall, steel skyscraper. The funny thing about skyscrapers was that they were made out of metal. And metal conducted electricity. Oh Yeah, the sound Gabriel heard that made him so happy? It was Thunder. From the sky shot a powerful bolt of lightning, which struck the building and lit it up with a blue glow. From Gabriel's rotating form fell a black drop, slightly smoking. This scale fell to the bottom of the electrified building.

Striking a small house, Gabriel destroyed the poor dwelling. The speed of his rotation combined with the intensity of the fire (for Velocity = Intensity) reduced the pile of sticks to just that. Only on fire. Emerging from the rubble, Gabriel's wings shot out from his body as he roared defiantly. Flapping hard once more, he achieved lift. Remaining low to the ground this time, however, he simply flew around the city, antagonizing the citizens with bolts of fire and loud roars.

Spoiler:

So, this was what they'd been hired to do? Well, Dai needed credit for this guy's store, he'd bought something that he could only afford half of... So he kinda needed to get this done, and do it well. His hand went to the pendant he now wore, and the redheaded Shinigami smirked. That'd come in handy, but later. For now, he and the other Shinigami that had come with him needed to find this creature, and take it down - not killing it, just... incapacitating it. Trapping it, as you would. He looked behind him, seeing the figure of the Fifth Division's Lieutenant approaching from behind.

What was his name? Mayo... Mayo-something. Mayonaka! That was it! He sighed softly, and reached down to the zanpakuto at his hip, drawing the blade in a swift motion, causing it to come out in it's usual inverted grip.

"Alright, time to play..." He smiled feircly, and flicked it to his side.

"Hitokuchi, Kiba Ookami." As he spoke the words, the blade of the kodachi grew in length, reaching two feet with it's blade. He smiled again, and leaned back onto the balls of his feet, waiting for the move of his ally.

"Let's do this."

Mayonaka pulled up beside the Vice-Captain of squad 2. Drawing his Zanpacto, he chanted the usual phrase. "Shōkyo subete no hikari, Kūgeki." His Zanpacto turned a dark black, Mayonaka was ready to take on the monster before them. "Remember, no deadly force. That goes for civilians around the thing as well."

He looked at the damage that the tainted dragon had already done. This had to be put under control as soon as possible. All the humans who had seen this dragon... well, it wasn't his job to fix that. All he had to do was cage a small dragon, not that difficult, right? And the job would be so much easier now that it wasn't sunny anymore.

"Alright, the strategy for this will be quite easy now that it's darker out. I will make my way to a spot where it is especially dark, and dissolve into the shadow. You will merely have to herd it into anywhere in that dark spot, where I will spring my trap and keep the dragon trapped until such time as Urufu can get back here and take control over his dragon again."

Mayonaka would have to remember to be on the look out for scales as he went about this, too. It may be a bit hard to keep up Akuma no yōna kage mirā for an extended period of time, he thought to himself. Once this dragon is successfully trapped, Daigoro had better hurry back to get Urufu.

Whump. That was basically the sound a bolt of fire made when it left Gabriel's mouth. The sound it made when it struck something was akin to "Fwup". And then there was the sound of the fire crackling, wood snapping from the intense heat turning the wood into toothpicks. Basking in the warmth, the light reflecting off of his scales cast an eerie glow into the growing shadows of the darkening day. Another rumble of thunder was heard. Shooting three more balls of fire into the clouds, they grew a shade darker. The tall buildings cast many shadows on the cool concrete. The fire from the building began to grow larger. Thick columns of smoke rose to the bottom of the clouds gently, adding onto their mass. Beating his wings against the earth, he rose higher into the air. Perching himself on a massive gargoyle at the edge of a building, he roared loudly for all civilians to see. When he was flying upwards, another scale had loosened and fallen, landing at the edge of this building. The citizens of japan were now panicing. They were used to something strange happening, but never this devestating.

A dragon was truly something to worry about, especially one as evil as the reformed Gabriel. Wrapping his tail around the gargoyle, he held himself low to it, practically invisible, hidden in the shadows of the building to await for his prey.

"Hey, avoiding deadly force is my... specialty." Dai smirked, and suddenly broke out into a run. If he could trap the dragon in some dark shadow of the city, then it would be easy enough for Mayonaka to be able to trap him with his shikai. Wait, why had Dai activated Shikai in the first place? It'd be less than useful here... He resealed and resheathed his zanpakuto, before pulling the pendant off his neck, and deactivating the enchantment placed upon it, creating a large, double-bladed halberd in his right, gloved hand. He grinned, and flipped it around a couple of times, before pushing down, and jumping as high as he could, creating Reiatsu platforms to keep himself suspended.

"I see you, buddy..." He ran up each of the steps as quickly as he could - he wanted to get this over and done with ASAP. His eyes narrowed, and he managed to get himself directly in line with the dragon, watching the creature carefully. Deciding to take the... subtle... approach, the redheaded Shinigami smiled softly, and spoke in a voice that was literally dripping with honey.

"Come on... We can do this the easy way or the hard way, and I think Urufu wants it done the easy way..." He smiled briefly, keeping ready to react to anything that happened, and keeping an eye on the other Shinigami, wherever he was.

Mayonaka dashed to the edge of the building, where above him was Vice-Captain of Squad 2 and the hollow tainted dragon: Gabriel. Finding himself in the dark of the building's shadow combined with the dark of the black clouds above, he smiled.

Mayonaka sunk into the dark as his body and almost all signs of his scent, touch, and reiatsu disappeared. It was his playing field now, his rules. If his companion could get Gabriel in an appropriate place, Mayonaka could pop out of the shadows and bind the dragon with his demonic mirrors like it was nothing. "I wonder how well Daigato is at shunpo.." he wondered, thinking that since he was the second highest rank in Squad 2, the ninja squad, that he must be fairly decent at it.

Dragon scales... he had almost forgotten. They needed ten of them on top of the dragon. Something had fallen from the dragon at the bottom of this building, it might have been a scale. Rising slightly from the shadow before the object, Mayonaka grabbed the scale, placing it in a small bag that he had taken with him for collecting the scales. "One down, nine to go.."

Disappearing back into the dark, Mayonaka climbed his way up closer to the others, ready to take action at the appropriate moment. How hard would it be for a Vice-Captain to take down a dragon without injuring anyone? He would find out in a short moment, as Daigato and Gabriel faced off.

Gabriel The Dragon

Gabriel watched with reproachful eyes as the two drew nearer to him. It was only when Mayonaka disappeared into the shadows that his head snapped off of the cold concrete of the gargoyle. Roaring at him, he flapped hard off of the building, spinning in the air and firing bolts of fire at the shadows of the building. Wheeling through the air, he roared once more before he continued to set the city alight. The dark colored fires rose into the sky, black smoke filling the air. His green eyes watched the two carefully. The dark haired one had disappeared into the building, so that left the long-haired one. Taking perfect aim, he fired 20 bolts of fire in rapid succession. He didn't care that he was trying to be nice. Simple things like that meant nothing to his beast of carnage and destruction.

His black wings blocked out the sun to the citizen's below, the thick membrane of the folds casting shadows upon the earth. For one of the two, this could potentially help. Unfortunately, Gabriel was a very clever being. Taking aim at the area's on the ground his shadow's darkened, he fired bolts of fire at them, creating too much light for shadows to exist.

That was real fire. That was the first thought that entered Dai's head when the dragon fired the bolts at him. His eyes narrowed, and he began to dodge as best he could. His movements took him left, right, up, down, and then it hit him.

No, it actually hit him. A bolt collided with his figure and exploded, causing him to start to fall to earth, body ravaged by pain. He turned in mid-air, trying his hardest to control his fall... But then it hit him again. The ground. The redhead groaned, standing up in the crater that his falling body had left... He staggered slightly, and his eyes narrowed. Time to do some damage. He brought up the double-bladed halberd, and created a clone of it, with a small grin. It was time.

The redheaded Shinigami twisted his foot, got it into position, and then flash-stepped back into the air, holding the weapons out to each of his sides with a grin.

"I'm coming for you, dragon!" He needed to stop this thing... He kinda owed Urufu some money... And he didn't want to know what'd happen if he didn't get it.

This dragon was relatively smart. It lit up it's shadows so that Mayonaka couldn't sneak up on him. It was also reaking havoc, Mayonaka would have to try and finish this quickly. Appearing again from the shadows on the building, Mayonaka got away from it with Shunpo. It would seem this might be slightly harder than he had thought. For two Vice Captains though, it shouldn't be all that difficult. As Dai got barraged by the onslaught of attacks, Mayonaka thought to himself whether he should try and help him out. He decided against it though, he would be able to take care of himself.

How could Mayonaka capture him though... He couldn't use Bakudo, and Gabriel couldn't be severely injured. Trapping Gabriel in his Demonic Shadow Mirrors was the only thing Mayonaka could think off. That wouldn't necessarily be easy though. He would need to get right beside Gabriel then activate his Mirrors. The problem was getting right beside him without being destroyed by the crazed dragons attacks. A distraction would work. Mayonaka would flash step to behind Gabriel while Dai distracted him.

Dai seemed to be already doing his part of distracting the dragon without being told to. He'd better remember not to injure the thing, Mayonaka thought to himself. From his spot beside the building Mayonaka flash stepped forward, towards a spot that faced the dragons side if it's attention was on Dai. From there he used another Shunpo to get about 20 feet behind the dragon. Not stepping frward towards the dragon quite yet, Mayonaka waited to see what Dai would do and how Gabriel would react.
