Paint the Town Pink [Gamukira, Tomoe]

She was so disappointed and empty, not like that feeling when your tummy is empty and you wanna eat some food it was worse than that. It was weird being able to eat and satisfy a hunger, her gut able to be well and truly satiated and yet the emptiness in her chest was not so easily filled.

Her quirky demeanour and playful nature had subsided and in its place she just felt aimless. There wasn't any point to toying with people if she wasn't going to eat them and she didn't feel hungry, didn't people eat food to comfort themselves when they were upset?

How weird it felt being outside her lab, feeling almost lost and like a lost wittle puppy. Her shihakusho and furry coat styled to be similar to the Captain's haori with the division ensigna for the third division.

Weird for a captain like her to be looking around and scratching her chin, huh?

"Good evening, Captain."

A soothing voice suddenly spoke out from behind Gamu while she seemed lost in thought. Tomoe had seen the woman so lost and confused, but deigned to leave her be. She didn't like interrupting other people's alone time or their thoughts, but a certain something had tipped her off that this wasn't explicitly either. While Tomoe wasn't told exactly what was going on in Gamu's head, it seemed that Mugen was putting thoughts in her head that implied Gamu was feeling a little down, and also that Tomoe should go see what was up. Out of curiosity, of course.

"What's bothering you?" She wondered without even asking if Gamu was bothered. Tomoe just knew that she was.

Tomoe circled around towards Gamu's side, willing to take a stroll if she wasn't explicitly told to leave. She had time to spare, after all. She always had time. And so if this estranged looking Captain decided to grant her company, then Tomoe would spend that time chatting away. Both out of curiosity, and because she didn't particularly like it when others were sad.

"Eh?"

She bent her neck back just a little bit more than should be physically possible to peek behind her at Tomoe though the gesture was unnecessary and frankly, over the top since the purple-haired woman came around to her side but if it accomplished anything it was to show the whimsical way that her body was so inhuman regardless of its shape.

"Nothing. I'm just bored."

It wasn't really true, well maybe a little bit. Things did feel boring without Abby around but what could she do about that?

Tomoe's eyes caught the way Gamu's neck twisted inhumanly, and immediately her interest was piqued. She hadn't heard of any of these Captains, not Liana, not Gamu, nobody. So when she saw the inhuman display of contortionism, her mind was to immediately wonder just what kind of weirdos she could pester to see how they reacted?

"Come now, bored people don't mope like that." Tomoe teased with a light giggle meant to disarm any tension Gamu might have. "I'll listen if it'll make you feel better. Or if you just don't want to say, perhaps I can offer a compelling enough conversation to lighten your mood?"

Tomoe wanted to offer options so that Gamu didn't feel suspicious of her. She was fully conscious of the way she sounded, especially after coming out of the blue like that, but in truth she really wasn't here to poke or pry. All Tomoe wanted was to lighten the Captain's mood.

"Hey, don't call me mopey, you bitch."

She was lucky that the voracious monster that she used to be had gotten snuffed out or this woman would be dinner, fellow shinigami always tasted the best to her palate but there wasn't really much of an interest in eating them anymore. Didn't give her the same satisfaction that it used to.

Gamu pouted like a jaded child, although there was no hostility besides being irked. A little bit of silence between them before she got over it rather promptly and continued like it had never happened.

"What do you want?"

The woman wasn't stupid, people always wanted something and Gamu was wearing what gave the impression of a captain. She probably wanted something and was trying to use small chit-chat to lead into it.

Her eyes widened ever so slightly at being abruptly called a bitch, but her smile never faltered. It only took her a few seconds to calm back down, not really caring in the long run what she was called. Tomoe hadn't been expecting that right off the bat, especially not when she was certain she was clearly just teasing, but regardless the fresh recruit simply shrugged it off and kept on teasing. One day she would learn her lesson not to poke the bear like this.

"Just to chat and maybe have someone to take a stroll with."

That was her only real reply to the jaded question she was asked. Yes, she had ulterior motives, but it wasn't really to get anything out of Gamu other than maybe a few interesting thoughts. Tomoe didn't want anything material here, but it was becoming clear she might need to provide proof of that.

"You really have anything that I want to have for myself. Honestly I'm just bored, and I saw you looking like you could use some company, so I came to offer that in hopes there would be some mutual benefit. Is that too much to ask?"

"Eh? Whatever."

She muttered, she still didn't believe her. Maybe what was previous predatory instinct had turned into a misanthropy which was at fault of people but the fact that she hated how she felt now. If she had previously wanted to destroy the world and devour all the contents in the world into her being to see if it would satisfy her hunger, now she wanted on some primal level of morbid curiousity to see if its destruction would end the emptiness in her chest.

Ah, but she couldn't do that now could she? Not anymore.

"If you are lonely, wouldn't it make more sense to pursue friends?"

Funny that she had viewed the difference as their status and power as a metric of whether or not friendship was possible. Wasn't that how it was in nature? The strong only gave time to those of their level, the weak crowded together in groups. Made friendships and comradery to try and survive. Though she was not driven by nature anymore was she and her Abby valued all the weaklings.

Maybe she'd find her more appealing if she viewed weaker people as worth her attention and coming to that conclusion she almost changed demeanour immediately.

"Though I'm sure we can be definitely friends. I'm Gamu, what's your name~?"

How eerie that she went from such a callous individual to a bubbly and exciteable at a handwave Her knees bending just a bit to be at eye level with her new friend.

Tomoe didn't think she was going to really get through to Gamu at this rate. She didn't exactly know much about the woman, and the only reason she was here to begin with was to stifle her curious influencer's constant requests to pay Gamu a visit. But seeing the woman so out of it... or well, actually, was this just how she was? Tomoe was starting to get a little suspicious of that being the case. But even as that thought crossed her mind, Gamu turned around with a sudden change in demeanor and asked her name in a far too cheery of a tone.

"Asahina Tomoe. Ah, but Tomoe is fine for you, my captain." She answered without even acknowledging the drastic change in tone the woman took. In fact, Gamu would clearly see in her new friend's eyes that Tomoe was even more interested after this shift in emotion. A woman who could just change her mood on a whim, either for real, or as an act, did pique Tomoe and Mugen's interest. There was always a reason for such strange behavior.

"And now that we're friends, how about you tell me how you're feeling? That's what friends do, right? Check up on each other and make sure they're doing okay?"

"Ah-sa-hi-na."

She chimed out the syllables though she was told to just call her Tomoe, right? She thought Asahina sounded cuter though, the kind of name you'd call a pet and the tall captain certainly would latch onto. Well, that or maybe she could create a cute name for her she was very purple... huh? Maybe murasaki or murasa-? Nope. Asahina it was.

"Well Assa, I'm bored and kinda in love with a girl but she doesn't like me so I'm sad. What about you? Are you doing okay? Is your wellbeing okay or do you need me to do a check up and make sure everything's in tip top shape?"

Tomoe couldn't stop an amused chuckle from escaping her, the smile on her lips softening from something of curious . This woman really was a fun little mystery.

"I'm fine, thank you." She kept her response short and sweet, smiling still as calmly as she ever had. In all actuality, she didn't know how to even take this sudden change of demeanor, but regardless she just ended up rolling with it.

"I'm more hoping you're okay. Do you wanna talk about it? Maybe have a nice night out while we're at it? We can get something to eat if you want." Tomoe offered politely to the woman. Food did help Tomoe take her mind off of things. She just hoped that Gamu felt the same way.
