[Spirit Class 9 | Hazard E] Laylah Rustama

Hailing from the humble deserts of the middle east in what is a harsh and barren environment, Laylah views herself as something of a desert jewel. A femme fatale who is a greedy cleptomanic that longs for all the riches in the world, she grew up with nothing and once she saw the glamour that was available with wealth she never let go of that.

She's shameless in her willingness to take from another person and leave them stranded without even the clothes on their back for their troubles. A scammer, a thief, and nothing but trouble for the people around her. Whenever Laylah comes by there's always bound to be some kind of drama come from it.

Laylah's not naive, despite the fact she never let go of her childhood fantasy of one day getting back to her royal roots, though she is always the optimist. If a situation goes amiss then she'll adapt to find a new way around it. Over, under, around; it doesn't matter to Laylah if she can figure out a way through it.


Born with the name of Amira. Her poor foster parents told her when she was young that she came from royalty but one by one the princes disappeared until her grandfather abandoned his family, something her father states was a shameful display of running away after being unable to escape his brother's shadow.

A young Amira loved this idea, a beautiful idea that she was in fact a little princess who was lost to her family. Her foster parents had very little, humble scavengers that made their living where they could in the rough environment. She didn't want this life, she wanted that idealised version of what her life could be. She spent many years growing up trying to improve herself, doing chores, living humbly.

Sure she might've had quincy powers which her foster mother called a gift from her royal heritage, she trained it over her teens but without any proper guidance she struggled. Amira didn't even know what a quincy was until she was an adult.

Up until she was sixteen and then she left to go her own way into the wide world. She took up a fake name, calling herself Laylah and chased her dream. She started small, teaching herself how to steal from people. She was either lucky or just talented, Laylah thought of it as being a bit of both.

That's what she's been doing until the present.


» Eye for Art: Laylah is very adept at determining the value of something. What's worth what and to who. She can tell someone what gemstone is what, what a metal is, and how much they can go for. Appraising something's historical value is. Basically she's a great skill that serves her well when it comes to stealing it.

» Sticky Fingers: She's a master with sleight of hand and figuring out how to steal things from someone. Whether that's improvising or an elaborate scheme.

» Strength of the River: A trait from her heritage more than her own training. Laylah has always had a strong body from when she was a baby. Sickness didn't come often to her, she is far stronger than her figure would suggest. Furthermore, she was born with the inherent qualities of a quincy rather than needing to train to become one. Apparently it is an attribute of her mother's side rather than her father's side though if her foster parents were truthful to her.


She does not have a quincy cross.


She's pretty good at acquiring tools which assist in her heists. Did I mention she has a pretty decent horde of treasure and money from her few years of stealing? She's got a lot of friends that keep her well supplied for getting what she wants, as long as she sells them the prize afterwards but she doesn't always pay up.
