Girl's' Night In [Erika, Murasaki]

"N-no more."

She whined while sipping down another dish of sake. Where did she say that she got this stuff? Some Shioki or something? It was already hard to focus enough as it was through everything flooding her system and making her wobble in her spot.

"What did you say?"

Erika mumured like she was looking for some clarity as to the topic of their discussion, her senses dull under the unnaturally potent alcohol.

"Huh?? You can't be done so soon, we just starteeeeeed!"

Laying down on her couch as she watched Erika wobble usnteadily, Murasaki admittedly was also feeling a bit of the impact from the special liquor from the outlands. It was pretty good, even if she wasn't super about the flavor compared to her usual plum sake. Another long sip from her dish, and Murasaki returned her attention to the proper conversation.

"I saaaaaaid we gotta get you out more! Obviously not right now but I haven't gotten to go have a night out in town with you in like foreveeeeer. Once stuff cools down we gotta! Oh, and I'll make you a new dress! You still have the one I made you last time?"

While Murasaki certainly had the self-awareness to know whether or not she was rambling, that didn't necessarily mean she had any particular inclination not to do so during a night drinking with her best friend.

"I don't waaaanna!"

She was reminded now, going out and about during the night, socialising. How long had it been since she did that? Since she was in the Fifth Division a hundred years ago? More or less? Collecting her thoughts were a hard enough struggle when her tiny body was under the pressure of the liquor and her focus was on her motor skills rather than thinking.

Getting up from her sitting position to crawl over to Murasaki with a pout and her cowlick standing at attention like she was a cat readying to pounce by stuffing her face into Murasaki's.

"I don't like wearing dresses..."

She muttered and looking away. Just because she didn't like wearing them didn't mean the dress in question wasn't safely among her belongings. If she kept that a secret though then she wouldn't be made to wear it. A brilliant idea.

"I know ya don't, that's why I'm draggin' ya out! You're always so grumpy, more people oughta see how cool you are!"

As Erika crawled over and brought herself in close, Murasaki did admittedly need to reconsider her assessment, and wondered if maybe she should have said "how cute you are" instead, but even deep in her cups she was certainly aware that this was not the norm for her best friend. Regardless, as Erika looked away, Murasaki simply laughed quietly under her breath before reaching out to give her a reassuring pat on the head, though it did little to assuage Erika's cowlick.

"Fiiiiiiiiine, I won't make ya put on a dress. But I'll still make another one for ya! There's been all sorta changes in fashion since last time, ya know, and I've practiced a ton since then, so it'll totes be way better."

There was a certain way of speaking that Murasaki had done her best to abandon as a Captain, and had done even more to stop using when she'd taken over as Commander. At the moment, however, that wasn't hugely relevant in her mind, so she was rapidly slipping back into what came most naturally to her.

"Pluuuuuuus, if you ever meet someone, I gotta do what I can to help you look super good!"

Of course, Murasaki did know how Erika was, and so while she did mean what she'd said, she wasn't really being pushy about it, either.

"You say such stupid things when you're drunk."

She muttered through her pout into the other woman's face, a bit more of her normal abrasive attitude that protected her vulnerable side of herself coming back to surface when the threat of being put out of her comfort zone became more of a reality. The battlefield was where she felt the most comfortable, someone being a romantic partner or too close to her? How distressing.

"I don't want to meet anyone like that. I want to be stron-guhhh."

Erika shot back, the safest place was above everyone else with nothing to lose and nothing to harm you.

"Heheen~ Maybe a little bit. But ya wouldn't want me any other way, right Erika-chaaaaan?"

Given Erika hadn't actually shirked away from it, Murasaki simply continued her headpatting, knowing fully that she wouldn't have the opportunity to dote on her like this again any time soon. Unlike Erika, Murasaki relished all these little moments of normality away from the battlefield.

"Well, it's not like I don't wanna be strong too, ya know, but meetin' someone's not gonna get in the way of that. Just means you'd hafta find someone else who gets it like you do! Not that I'm sayin' ya gotta."

She had done so in the past, admittedly, but they'd both been much younger then, Murasaki especially, and she understood the folly of it now.

"No nononono."

She stammered at the green-haired woman in front of her. Besides, Erika had an advantage to deter these idiots away from her. She was small in height and the areas one would want width, her hair was unkempt and hardly the kind of silky smooth that would imply some sense of feminine pride about her hair. She had scars on her body.

"Guys would be dumb to pick me anyway."

The declaration was made, almost proud of the fact, that she was undesireable in her own mind.

The first response was the sort Murasaki would have expected from Erika, given the sort of woman she was. A firm...well, not necessarily firm given the current circumstances, but a definite refusal of the notion. The second, however, was one Murasaki simply could not abide, and she stopped patting Erika's head only so she could cross both arms in front of her in an X shape as she shook her head.

"You're nuts! You're super cute, totes cool, good at your job, reliable! I guess you're not some boring stay at home wife kinda girl but that's like, waaaaay lame anyway."

Admittedly, Murasaki had not really expected the discourse to exclusively turn toward boys, but it's not like the night was gonna be over right away, so she didn't mind actually pursuing this particular avenue of conversation for now.

"Guys are dumb then! And I have no interest in idiots!"

She retorted, putting down her foot with the typical pigheaded stubborness that she had when she had made up her mind. Tenfold amplified by the fact she was focusing more on keeping her head on straight rather than what she was spewing out of her mouth through the drunken stupor.

If Erika determined that then she was correct, so anyone that thought that she was attractive must be pretty dumb or delusional to think stupid ideas like that.

Another pause then, and Murasaki started to laugh, both at the statement itself and just how resolutely Erika had made it. It was remarkably Erika in every possible way, but the atmosphere of this whole exchange certainly made it seem far funnier than it normally would have been.

"I'm not gonna argue with ya on that one, but I have known some pretty alright guys before who thought you were a cutie pie."

Another quiet laugh left Murasaki's lips as she reached out and briefly pinched Erika's cheek, as if to only further reinforce the notion that she did agree with that assessment in one way or another.

"If I was a boy, I'd totes be into you, no doubt about it! You'd never call me an idiot, right Erika-chaaaaaaaaaan?"
