After training with Henrex, Ritsuko felt much stronger than before but knew it still was not enough. After fighting the unnamed swordsman who almost left her for dead she realized the strength possessed by some spiritual beings stronger then her it sent chills down her spine. She had to get stronger, she had to ensure that she was ready for what was to come.

Ritsuko would not so easily give up. Now that she had trained so vigorously she needed to train each moment she drew breath, maybe then it would be enough. Ritsuko began to release her reiryoku but each attempt to release her powers resulted in falling on her knees.

She was suprised that Henrex gave her the opportunity to visit the Sereitei, soon she was their and it was nothing like she expected in her head. Regardless she began to walk around and see what this new-place had in-store she arrived at the training grounds she noticed alot of shinigami training, most consisted of various height and body types and she noticed some others practicing kidou. Most of them were brand new academy students while others were more experienced shinigami hoping to improve their skills.

All of these people were making Ritsuko feel weak in comparison to others, but she put the thought into the back of her mind, not wanting it to distract her. What mattered was finding a nice area and a good sparring partner, but who would train with a mere human?

Another day in the Seireitei. Erika had been trying to find her former Vice-Captain and well, she assumed something akin to a friend or at least a workplace friend. She had to wonder where Momo Hinamori was. Any number of things could've happened, she could've died, retired or even just up and left. Anyhow it was getting to much to just sit here and do nothing in the Second Division's Barracks hence her little outing to do a bit of training.

She had arrived to a place she enjoyed, being outside instead of locked up inside all the time and seeing all the shinigami doing their training pleased her a little. She liked to see people training to improve themselves. Wait. They weren't all shinigami, Erika was able to quickly deduce that from one of the people's attire and energy they were a human, considering she also tugged on Ritsuko's spirit white spirit ribbon which she formed in her head instead of all the bunch around her. She wanted to investigate this woman and why she was here, obviously she was training but how the hell did a human get into the Seireitei, unless she had help.

"Excuse me Miss, I'm Erika. Are you lost also could you please tell me why you are a human in the Seireitei?"

If Ritsuko hadn't noticed Erika was also standing out amongst the crowd with her white outfit that covered her torso and left her upper arms and thigh exposed. She obviously wasn't wearing a shihakusho or belonged to the Gotei but she was a shinigami at the least.

This was spectacular, too think that shinigami of various ages begin their journey through rigorous training and but there was one question that she had running through her mind, and that was if they had to pass a curricular exam or demonstrate their amount of spiritual energy to qualify. However before she could move on a mysterious figure began tugging on her and obviously she turned around to see who wanted her attention, surprisingly it was a beautiful woman wearing a white top with black sleeves covering her arms and bottoms which showed a bit of skin. Of course that didn't bother her entirely since she's used too seeing other people doing it.

The woman introduced herself as Erika, which she admitted was a lovely name for a shinigami such as herself. I've been given permission by Henrex Astillon, he's a friend of mine and I was looking for a potential sparring partner to help hone my skills. Ritsuko said with a smile on her face, this is the first person she's meet in the sereitei and things were already off too a good start, not only did she approach her with a polite tone of voice but the curiosity that she was in the sereitei was a bit confusing.

The shinigami looked at the strange woman, the mention of Henrex though would draw out a rather surprised expression. Being that Henrex was something of a teacher to her although informal as it was it still made her wonder. Now the mention of sparring was something she could get on board with however the only issue would be that Erika would be holding back considerably given their strength differences from what she saw. That didn't really matter though, she'd still be able to help Ritsuko hone her skills.

"Well I am happy to try and help you get stronger. Although I do want your name before we train together"

She turned and walked up to one of the training grounds, a circle about 10 metres in diameter before Erika stood to one side and gestured for Ritsuko to do the same, polite conversation was always an option if Ritsuko could speak while focused, Erika's hand would extend out before manifesting her blade, it lacks an edge that would cut but being hit would no doubt not leave a bit of pain to the strikes so it was in Ritsuko's best interest not to get hit. She waited, acknowledging she was strong and so she'd sacrifice he first move to gauge Ritsuko's own skill level and move her own combat to slightly above her. Had to make sure she could not only learn but have a bit of challenge without Erika beating her without a sweat.

"Let's begin then."

Perfect! everything was working as planned not only has she encountered another shinigami other than Henrex but also that Erika happily offered to train her.

Once she walked with Erika to the training grounds it was similar to many other training areas, most recruits were being taught in-depth instructions on how to use...magic or was it kido? Anyways some were focusing on using swords in combat and many succeeded while others failed.

"My name's Ritsuko Nicklovich or Rits for short"

She closely examined Erika as she embedded two circles deep within the ground, it couldn't be more then about 10 meters and gestered her to move on the other one of course she complied with no issues.
This the training was about to commence between the two women with Ritsuko looking perplexed as a blade began to slowly materialize in front of Erika of course this was possibly her zanpaktou and she took out one of her swords though it was bought from the Cybermind store it was still a relatively good training weapon to start.

So she held the sword in her hands and despite the sword being in shape and design but the concept should be the same right? Regardless she held her right hand overtop the top and her left on the bottom then wrapped her pinkie around the weapon and began her assault, she decided too not put all her weight into the diagonal strike otherwise she wouldn't have enough time to retaliate with either a parry or counter attack. If the attack was unsuccessful Ritsuko would have plenty of time to retaliate with a parry of her own.

Erika took notice of the entire situation, the sword that her opponent used. The shape and form of it. She had to estimate exactly how skilled Ritsuko was with it. Nonetheless she was confident that she could topple Ritsuko, not to sound arrogant but she did have a few trump cards she could pull if she wanted but that was not suitable for this situation and nor was she so desperate to win.

Her first strike came from a diagonal slash, the shinigami watched it carefully while Ritsuko approached and the performed her slash. The shinigami sought to try her risky approach of Sen. She waited for the perfect time, steadying her blade before in an instant she would execute her counter. In one flawless swipe Erika's blade would meet Ritsuko's with the same speed and force, the direction however was not the same, yes they clashed by Erika's sword was slightly angled to redirect the woman's blade and in that moment she would press her advantage, a hand came down to grip her wrist and the dulled blade would press itself against the woman's neck after a snappy turn to lock them together a little. Considering this worked the blonde didn't care that they were in such close proximity, in a fight there was just that. Nothing else.

"I think you're dead now. How much experience do you have with a sword?"

She spoke it clearly, and only if she won in her single strike. She was hoping that Ritsuko could potentially block this or make the events not happen the way she wanted to, but this was just testing the waters to determine how well Ritsuko understood the sword there was no mocking in it or boasting. It was just a blunt statement of the fact.

Their blades clashed and however the battle was completely one sided as she noticed the tip of Erika's sword almost touch her neck..what shocked her the most was the fact that she was dead...Ritsuko's face was confused and thought she was hearing things. I-i'm dead?

Her facial expression changed from confused to flabbergast, mostly because of how quickly she was pronounced "dead" one minute she was initiating the attack and the next the tip of Erika's sword is near her neck a "killing blow" so to speak. Ritsuko was surprised that this is the gap between herself and Erika far as swordsmanship goes, she's only learnt the basics such as maintaining a proper grip while Erika on the other hand seemed to master it with little problems it made her feel weak in comparison.

When asked about who trained her in ways of the sword she couldn't lie to her face after all it would be disheartening and extremely rude, so she replied with a fake smile. "I received a bit of training from Henrex far as the sword, but it was only the basics."

Erika stood there for a moment. In a way it wasn't fair of her to go like that but she herself wasn't even trying. She would probably have been scolded should her mother who was also her teacher had seen such a reckless move. She had put her entire weight and commitment into it, all Ritsuko would've had to do would be break the assault and then Erika would likely have been put in a state of bother.

"Yes. You're dead."

There was no other way to put it, and sure it probably was a rhetorical question which the shinigami needn't answer but she did anyway. She watched Ritsuko come to terms with their gap in their swordsmanship, she was pretty nonchalant about it. She just stood and waited, offering no words of praise or trying to make her feel better. She wasn't the kind of person to offer words like 'there, there" and she wasn't going to praise her for this performance, Erika didn't want to get the thought into her head that this level was acceptable.

"Henrex? Huh... You know Henrex and clearly. I'll teach you some more about it. Firstly, there are three primary ways to win a fight, Sen-no-sen, Sen and Go-no-sen. Sen-no-sen involves waiting for a person to be distracted, you usually take advantage of feints and if the person is not completely focused and then take advantage of their idle mind. Sen is what I just used then, I waited for you to make your move and commit, timing it right I was able to counter and take advantage of you. It's extremely hard to do. The last one I will teach you is Go-no-sen. This is where you let the opponent attack first, and when they’re at the momentum of finishing their strike and are temporarily unable to execute another one in blinding speed, that’s when you go for the kill."

She was giving Ritsuko a lesson now, she better be listening carefully since Erika wasn't a girl who repeated herself and she waited for an acknowledgement from Ritsuko. At which point she'd switch out her katana, having it disappear as she formed two wakizashi instead that looked identical. With them n her hand she looked them over carefully while waiting until she took the ring again, Ritsuko better not expect Erika was going to limit herself to a katana. It had been a while since she dual-wielded wakizashi and she was keen to keep up that skill.

Ritsuko was surprised that Erika wasn't as kind as Henrex, normally he'd give words of encouragement or restrain from belittling her however she was different. The way her tone and demeanor was completely unchanged made her an interesting mentor, everyone has a different method of training whether it's through tough-love or holding back each had their own strengths and weaknesses.
knew the advanced methods of swordsmanship and the different styles, but the information she was being given was vital if she wants to compete with someone who has a the same level of swordsmanship as her.

Regardless Ritsuko listened carefully as Erika explained the three different ways of winning in a fight such as nodding her head and having a curious look, at least she'll know that she's actually listening rather then just staring into space. All these were a very interesting topic indeed and Sen was the one she thought about with great effort, she did notice that she left herself wide open for a counter as her footwork was sub-par at best and was too worried on her enemies movements instead of hers.

I understand Erika, these are very important methods to focus on. I'm ready to begin once more.

She watched as Erika then walked to her side of the circle and her blade began to vanish and turn into dual wield weapons, she wasn't sure of it's exact name or country of origin. All she knows is that she'll have to learn how to face against an opponent with a variety of different weapons which was very helpful, after all not everyone learns only one weapon. Now it was time to put these strategies to the test....
