» Personality: Tatsuya's most notable qualities are his lazy and laid-back personality, often making him seen as a carefree person without any regard for his surroundings. Most of the time he would be seen actively avoiding doing any type of work that he considers boring or pointless, instead, he would prefer to take a nap to “restore” his energy. His usual demeanor changes whenever he finds something that attracts his interest, he would focus on it and approach it in an energetic and serious manner.

A lazy man that would rather talk his way out of a problem or fight, mostly considering it a waste of time or drag when he could spend his time on better things. Conflict is unnecessary and often brings consequences that end up being a hassle for both sides. While he is not by any means a peacekeeper of sorts, as long as said conflict doesn’t affect him in the short or long term then it doesn’t matter to him. He enjoys making sarcastic remarks, especially about unfortunate things that occur to him.

Outside of his lazy and carefree personality, he is proven to be a cunning person, seeking ways to obtain his desired goal with the least amount of effort possible. Different from other Shinigami that pride themselves on their achievements and power, Tatsuya is indifferent to them. Instead, he strives to make everything as easy and convenient as possible. For anyone that might find themselves getting to know him closer would realize that his lazy personality is nothing more than an elaborated facade in order to deceive anyone around him about his true intellect and abilities. He enjoys deceiving people, giving them a sense of false confidence, and ultimately letting them underestimate his true capabilities.


» History: Like many people that were sent to the Soul Society by the Shinigami, Tatsuya was no exception, having arrived at the Soul Society without any memories of his past. Appearing in Rukongai District 75, one of the roughest districts in the entirety of Rukongai. Alone and with little understanding aside from the fact that he had died, the district was the equivalent of slums, life was harsh, and sometimes fighting for survival was necessary. It wasn't easy, getting his hands on food was difficult and sometimes he had to fight others for it. Men that were bigger and bulkier than him, most of the time he was inevitably turned into a punching bag as the numbers were against him.

Most of his early years were spent running away, surviving with what he could. His mind and body hardened as a result, forcing him to adapt to the circumstances of his new life. Street fighting was quite common for him, as there would always be someone that wanted to pick a fight and he had to pick up the skills to fight back. Through sheer trial and error, Tatsuya's fighting skills improved, although informal, he learned how to use his own body to take out individuals who were bulkier than him. Deep inside he hated this, he hated this style of life, always having to fight for his survival was monotonous and boring.

A glimpse of hope arrived, as the prospect of becoming a Shinigami was presented to him. It became known to him that Shinigami lived better lives in the Seireitei and the only way to change his current circumstances was that. Of course, he knew about the rest of their duties and their function, but Tatsuya had little interest in that other than improving his own life at the time. He applied for Shin'ō Academy's exams and passed them successfully on the first try, proving to possess reiatsu. His time in the Academy consisted of studying and practicing, the importance of the duties of a Shinigami and the history behind it. Most things were boring, but he still paid attention to them out of necessity.

Through time he began to shine in the fields of Hakuda and Kido respectively. His enhanced sense of eyesight gave him an edge over the rest of the students, allowing him to swiftly analyze their movements and take them down. It's also worth noting that he spent a good portion of his life by now fighting in the streets, but with Hakuda said skill could be refined into a proper fighting style. Kido was particularly an interesting field for him, both in theory and in practice. He was able to pick up and understand its use, alongside having good control of his own energy. Incantations were no issue as he was able to quickly recite them to unleash their full potential.

Science-related fields picked his interest and somehow understood them with ease. Tatsuya appeared to have a good knack for problem-solving and particularly enjoyed it. Although it would appear as if he was an ideal student, he was from it. In subjects that interested he often found himself dozing off or doing something. Some classes straight up didn't interest him and only did the bare minimum to pass them. Still, his intelligence and skill in certain fields were acknowledged.

His skills in Hakuda caught the interest of the 2nd Division at the time, joining after the departure of the previous Captain Yoruichi Shihōin. He was assigned to the highest-ranking branch within the Onmitsukidō, the Executive Militia. His training was upped, not only did he further train in Hakuda but was taught the necessity to become cold-blooded and show no mercy. Being stealthy, quick on his feet, and knowing how to assassinate his targets became a new part of his day-to-day life, just years ago he was running fighting people in Rukongai to survive and now he was taking away the lives of both criminals and rogue shinigami alike.

The following centuries were spent acting as a ruthless and cold killer, his ability to read his opponent's movement made him particularly scary as sometimes their skill was irrelevant. While he performed his job efficiently and was quickly believed to be one of the more skilled members of the 2nd Division. An inexplicable void filled him from the inside, lack of interest and boredom. While some of his comrades found the concept of assassination and killing interesting, whether due to their own concept of justice or twisted tendencies. Tatsuya held no particular interest and only did it own out of his task, needless to say, it became obvious that the young man needed something else.

Following the defeat of Aizen, he requested to leave the 2nd Division and transfer over to the 12th Division to become a part of the renowned Shinigami Research & Development Institute. He recalled the time he was interested in scientific subjects in the Academy and it wasn't uncalled for to say he didn't read any scientific articles he could get his hands on during his free time. This lead him to believe that it would meet fulfill his purpose. Said division was known for their eccentric personalities and fit right in with his rather lazy and unorthodox personality.

It was only until he changed divisions that he paid attention to his own Zanpakuto, having neglected since he first joined the Gotei 13. Finally, he began to invest his time into knowing his spirit and its name, although initially, his spirit wasn't fond of having been neglected completely for at least two centuries. Tatsuya had only relied on Hakuda until now and rarely considered using his own Zanpakuto. While he was initially lazy to name its name, he soon learned the importance of it and understood that his Zanpakuto was the source of his power.

Unleashing the name of Zanpakuto was a step toward success, not only did he learn it, but as he unlocked it he became fascinated by its powers. A mutual relationship and understanding were established. As a scientist, most of his time was spent within the compounds of a laboratory, but he didn't particularly mind it. Like a sponge, he sucked up all the scientific information that was provided to him and diligently studied it. He used his own Zanpakuto ability to find ways to facilitate the transportation and logistics of supplies, the shrinking of objects will make it possible to transport more of them at the same time.

The creation of objects using the reiatsu from his own Zanpakuto to temporarily change the size of objects for a certain amount of time to ease their transportation started. Logistics was an important aspect that shouldn't be missed, especially in an organization as big as the one he belonged to. His experiments with miniaturization lead to more convenient storage and the invention of other small objects while retaining their capabilities. Greatly taking inspiration from modern technology and the field is known as quantum mechanics and engineering respectively. His breakthroughs and contributions to the SRDI gave him the promotion to the position of seated officer.

Tatsuya has risen up from a nobody, but there's still missing. Initiative, drive, and motivation are all factors the scientist lacks. Something or someone to push him on that limit in order to truly unleash his true potential, that is if he prefers to do that over taking a nap.


» Natural Abilities:

Keen Eyesight: Tatsuya possesses superior eyesight than the average Shinigami, a very particular trait that is achieved through passively focusing a certain amount of his Reiryoku on his eyes. He is able to drastically increase his eyesight, although most people will believe that it grants Tatsuya the ability to see things from a longer distance, that isn’t what it does. Instead, it allows him to see things that the average eye would be unable to see, smaller things such as small movements of somebody’s muscles, to the cells or even molecules on one’s body. The smaller the object, the more Reiryoku he requires to focus. It essentially makes his eyes work like a microscope.


» Racial Abilities:

Hakuda Expert: As a scientist and member of the 3rd Division, most people will find it hard to believe that a member of that division would hold such a high skill level in Hakuda. Way before he entered the Academy, Tatsuya lived around the rough parts of Rukongai and often had to fight off attackers in order to preserve his life. By the time he joined the Academy, he already had a fair amount of experience in-unarmed combat even if he wasn’t formally trained. During his time in the Academy, he exceeded in Hakuda, possessing incredible hand-eye coordination, and thanks to his enhanced eyesight allowed him to predict the movements of his enemies by just looking at the way their muscles tensed up.

He holds a decent amount of strength and speed in his attacks but is by no means an excels in those. Instead, he makes up his skill in technique, precise punches and kicks in the right places, and predicting his enemy's movement. Hakuda and martial arts come as a second nature to him.

Kido Expert: No matter the time or division belongs he belongs to. Kido has always been an important skill that Tatsuya believed to be quite useful. Being naturally talented in the usage and control of Kido from his time at the Academy. Kido has uses both in and outside of combat, due to the variety of spells that exist he has always made sure to keep his practice over the years. Allowing him to remove the incantations of his spell to maximize speed while sacrificing a fraction of the spell's power.

Hoho Adept: Tatsuya performed well in the usage of Hoho and its primary technique, Shunpo. A skill that he trained consistently during his time as a member of the Onmitsukidō, in conjunction with Hakuda. Not only was being able to be stealthy and skilled at killing necessary, but also swiftness to catch up to fast targets. Tatsuya once used to be an expert in it the field of Hoho, but lately due to spending most of his time inside a laboratory rather than moving around his skill has become rusty.



» Zanpakutō Name: Hakiriari (葉切蟻 ; Leafcutter Ant)

» Inner World: Tatsuya's inner world takes the form of a forest where wildlife thrives, with a difference being that the size of everything is inverted. Fully grown trees that will otherwise be considered big and taller than a regular person, are small in nature measuring less than a meter while in some places grass is unusually tall, being 2 meters in height or sometimes even taller, including plants and small rocks.

» Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: The standard katana most shinigami carry around their waist, Hakiriari has a black hilt and a black cloth that is wrapped around the Zanpakuto's handle. A black sheath with a golden line in the middle and a red rope tassel wrapped around it.

» Sealed Zanpakutō Power: Hakiriari possesses the ability to change size at will, whenever necessary. It is able to shrink down to the size of a small pencil and store it inside the user's own pocket. It is particularly convenient for storing purposes and concealment of his own weapon, as he can make it hard to see or rapidly change its size to surprise an opponent that lacks proper knowledge about his Zanpakuto's power.


» Shikai Release Phrase: "Grow, Hakiriari."

» Shikai Appearance: Upon release, Hakiriari takes the form of a tachi, black handle and adorned with red tassels, it's blade turns dark with a red lining that reaches all the way to the tip, accompanied by other small red markings throughout the blade.

» Shikai Abilities: Hakiriari holds the power of what essentially is Size Manipulation. Anything that comes into contact with its blade will be marked with its energy will be, making it possible to shrink or expand the size of any object, item, weapon, projectile, or living beings even being that touches it. Growing or shrinking certain opponent weapons such as Zanpakuto or powerful living beings will require a greater exertion of Reiryoku to make up for it. This can effect can only be used one at a time, once the effect has been used the Hakiriari will require to make contact again. Being of equal or great Spirit Class will only be affected by these abilities to a limited degree at their own discretion.

• Growth: After being marked by Hakiriari the user increases its size, able to be as precise as the act of marking a tree with the blade, resulting in the growth of a tree branch or making the entire tree grow. It must be noted that the greater the growth from the original will the more Reiryoku the user will be forced to spend. The action of making an entire tree grow instead of a branch will also result in higher energy consumption. It is possible to make something grow to around the size of a three-story tall building (10-12 meters).
  
  
• Shrink: Fundamentally the same as the Growth ability, but the opposite. Instead of the object growing in size, it will shrink from its original size. The amount of Reiryoku exerted is reliant on how much the object has been shrunk from its original size. It can shrink an object down to roughly the size of an ant, however, the bigger something is the harder it would be to shrink down at that size.

The city of Daobeth was a place he was familiar with and had some memories of, although they weren't all memorable, at least one of them stuck with him. Around 4 years ago he was merely a commoner with only a basic understanding of magic but through time he had been able to expand his knowledge. One of the people he owed was a woman he met at the time Verena, that had earned a reputation as the Macabre Pupeeter. The woman taught him magic for a brief period of time, but her teachings, although brief, stuck with him all the way up to today.

The reason why he was nearby Daobeth was not due to a friendly visit, even if it was slightly a pain in the ass for the young man to travel all the way there he had a motive and a mission. His superior, Lydia Ravenfield had tasked him with reaching out to the Reinsberg, having mentioned that he was acquainted with Verena. Initially, he didn't know she was a part of the Reinsberg Family due to her particular lifestyle of living around the forest rather than in an estate with servants ready to attend to the needs of their patrons. Although he initially didn't feel like going, it was ultimately a good way to gather some information Lydia desired, and meet up with an old acquaintance and teacher.


Charles's choice of clothing has always been simplistic and basic, due to being a commoner he always wore simple things. His outfit consisted of a dark blue buttoned half-sleeved shirt, black pants, boots, and brown leather kneepads that served as some sort of protection. Lastly, he wore a black cloak that covered most of his clothes and reached all the way to his knees. He had never been the type of person to care all that much about his appearance and rather went with what he found first and felt most comfortable.

As he got closer and closer, he sensed the presence of golems in the vicinity which made him believe that he had arrived at the right spot. Charles was under the impression that the golems would've likely detected his presence by now. It was common sense to him who was the person that was in charge of those golems, so there was no point in moving. Instead, he decided to stay exactly where he was and wait for the time being for her arrival. His lazy nature wouldn't allow him and it would be much simpler for Verena to reach him if he remains at the same spot, no?

At the same time, he found himself facing in front of a golem he hadn't seen before, but he deduced that it was from her regardless. Anyone was capable of expanding the number of spells and techniques they had access to. The golem motioned him to stop, which he had originally intended from the start because he was too lazy to walk all the way there anyway. So while he waited he stared at the golem with a bored expression.

Moments later, his face turned towards the sound of the voice he heard approaching him. It was Verena, somebody he hasn't seen in years, and just like him he could see that something about her had changed. Compared to the first time he had met her, it seemed like she was hiding many things, her build seemed different and her choice of clothing as well. His only guess was that she had earned some sort of confidence alongside her rise to fame and reputation throughout the years.

"Like if I will forget one of the people that taught me magic years back... I wouldn't have come here if I didn't. I guess I did grow up, it's been a while after all. And by the looks of it seems like you did as well... It's been a while, so how have you been? I've heard you've become quite famous over the last few years." A slight chuckle came off of Charles's face the moment he saw her, a part of him felt as he owed her for the knowledge and the opportunity to learn magic he was given. He was a mere commoner that had asked a noble for help without realizing it, but that didn't bother him at all.

The look on his face was one of a grown man rather than a kid, he had matured both physically and mentally through the struggles he had to endure over the last few years. Yet it also appeared like Verena wasn't hiding anything as she used to when they first met. It was a heartwarming reunion, after all nowadays it wasn't easy for him to meet people he met up with when he was younger.
