Recently, Jian Yijun had little to do other than basic missions and training. After multiple straight months of participating in gigantic, nation-changing battles and reaching the point of near-death repeatedly, the monotony of every day life had bored him. The empty feeling deep in his core which reared its head whenever he was standing still had returned, and Kai's life wasn't what he hoped it would be. Even as a Vanguard Warden, a prestigious position with many important responsibilities, Kai felt his life lacked something. As he'd done the last time this feeling arose, Kai settled on the belief it was due to not putting everything on the line, including his life, to help others. It was with this in mind that he jumped at the chance to do something great and just.
As one of the first people to be notified of the terrorist organization in the Wastelands, Kai quickly became the first person to act on the information as well. As part of the Vanguard's new community service program, which included military operations, infiltrating, disarming, and eliminating terrorist cells was now at the forefront of the organization's goals. To this end, Kai found himself hidden away on the grounds of a terrorist organization's facility. Though still outside the exterior gate, he had successfully infiltrated up to this point. From within the confines of some thick shrubbery Kai was able to keep his eye on the main gate and the guard standing outside it. Despite having been sitting in this bush for over six hours, using the distraction of the guards' shift change to hide close to the gate, he remained focused and determined.
After scanning the surroundings for any obvious cameras or other guards, Kai decided to make his move. Knowing this guard had been out here for at least a half dozen hours, Kai figured he might be easier to take advantage of if he was antsy or bored at all. With this in mind, Kai quietly switched to Ranger Stance, created a jade arrow with a round head, and nocked it. Raising his hand, Kai silently shot a small sphere of green fire up into the air about ten meters above his head. Once it was floating in the air, unmoving, Kai whistled in order to grab the guard's attention. Assuming he looked over, Kai had the fireball explode into a bright lightshow just large enough to potentially draw his target's attention upward. Right as this occurred Kai loosed the arrow he'd knocked. If all things went according to plan, the guard would look up and the arrow would hit his raised chin hard enough to make his head ricochet backward, causing his brain to hit the inside of his skull and likely knocking him out immediately. The arrow would dissipate immediately after.
Wasting no time, Kai immediately sprinted forward and reached the guard in a matter of seconds. Summoning cuffs from his P.I.L.H.S. Device, Kai locked the man's hands behind his back before carrying him back to the bush and dropping him in it. Within the same moment Kai found himself back at the gate where he coated his right hand in extremely hot flames and melted straight through the locking mechanism before pushing it open and sneaking through. Assuming all things had gone according to plan up til now, Kai now found himself officially within the confines of the facility's grounds. Not wanting to get caught quite yet, or lose any kind of surveillance that may have seen him, Kai sprinted to his left and slid along the ground for a second before coming to a stop behind some kind of large industrial container. Kai allowed himself a second to gather his thoughts and see if anybody or anything was coming for him.
