Being out in the wild again was comforting to Kai. As of late he had been training in official Vanguard facilities, which seemed to lack the natural and dangerous element that was inherent to Earth's Wastelands. Today Kai found himself in a particularly dangerous section of woods swarming with vicious Hollows. These beasts possessed barely enough intelligence to tell predator from prey, which is what made it so easy for Kai to defend himself whenever they approached him. Their destructive capabilities were limited to superman physical traits and producing rudimentary Cero attacks. Unfortunately the individual they seemed to want to kill and consume was fully prepared for them.

Having developed his skills with his Jade Dragon's Flames, Kai possessed enough skill to use fire quite liberally without worrying about causing any kind of natural disaster like burning the entire forest down. When a particularly large Hollow sprinted at him Kai created a burst of fire under his feet, sending him almost five meters into the air, dodging the beast's initial strike. Now above its head, Kai used another burst of green flames to shoot down like a meteor, his trusted weapon Erphtal in his hands and aimed directly at the Hollow's skill. With little difficulty Kai tore through monster, killing it almost instantly. Now safely on the ground again, Kai looked around and waited for the next person or beast to show up.

Mike appeared within a puff of black and red smoke talking to himself as he appeared. Please let this be a ladys only bathhouse. HE seemed to be repeating that before a large roar convinced him he was not so lucky. A large hollow appeared behind him making him let out a large groan before a a loud gunshot would ring through the area. a small blue orb would be seen racing towards the hollow hitting it right between the eyes causing its head to explode makeing the body dissapear as quickly as it appeared. Quiet you im trying to focus on the fans... Damn was off on the target mark again. ohhh well guess i gotta shoot something so the day wa not a total loss?

You are really easy to please i take it... Either way we are in a strange land might be best to open your eyes. He soon opened his eyes and slapped himself a few times. Why do these comics never give us what we want.. i mean is it really that hard to drop us in the middle of a ladys bath house geez. I know right and whats with these titels.... Its like the people makeing them do not know they are in a comic geezums. He put his gun up and started scratching his head as he took in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. Not like there is anything we can do about it righ now. might as well see whats going on aside loud noise.

He slowly started to look around before he caught glimpse of someone that looked rather interesting to him. You two bozos shut it for awhile i see someone else. THey do not look all that interesting but i suppose it won't hurt to talk to him After saying that he walked over to the other person in the area and offered a grin. Ohhh hey hi. I do hope i am not interupting your monster hunting or whatever this is supposed to be. He spoke as another large hollow showed up as he groaned out again pulling his gun out shooting this next one as well destroying it in a matter of seconds. Geez do they ever stop being so noisy.. the grownups are trying to talk here.

He said shaking his head as he looked to the male he was talking to as he sighed. They never seem to learn... Anyway you can call me mike and or deadpool i answer to both. And you are???? well i do not know who you are but you seriously need to rethink your duds kid. He said shaking his head as he took in a deep breath.

Over the course of the next half hour or so Kai claimed the lives of almost a dozen Hollows, all of which instigated combat by attacking first. Though Kai had long held the belief that he should avoid killing by any means necessary, ending a bestial Hollow allowed its souls to return to the Soul Cycle and reincarnate as living people. Because of this he didn't have too many qualms about defending himself from such monsters, even if it meant killing them. For Kai, it was just as much a mercy as it was an act of justness.

After a particularly dastardly Hollow met its end at his hands, Kai dropped to a sitting position with his legs crossed. Breathing deeply in and out, he was able to calm down from battle and achieve meditation in just a few short moments. With the coast clear and figuring nothing stronger than some low level Hollows were around, Kai figured there wouldn't be any negative consequences to clearing his mind and taking a temporary break from fighting. It wasn't that he disliked fighting, but nothing going on at the moment was interesting enough to warrant keeping his attention. That is, until the mysterious appearance of a stranger.

Standing barefoot and wearing traditional training slacks and sleeveless shirt, Kai was dressed for the situation he was in. This stranger though, he was dressed like he belonged in a movie or even a comic book. As he approached Kai stood still, unwavering and unperturbed by the man. Kai listened to the man speak and watched him nonchalantly take care of a large Hollow. Mike, who introduced himself as such, seemed to ramble and spoke of people or things or voices or something that weren't there. When he finished, Kai responded as politely as possible.

"Hello Mike, I'm Jian Yijun but you can call me Kai. I'm a Warden of Vanguard. I don't know if you're strong or just have good technology, but would you be up for a spar of sorts Mike? I could really use the practice."

Mike looked to him and slowly tilted his head to one side. A look of confusion passed over his face as he stared. You wanna spar me? no ones ever asked me something like that before. THey tend to scream and run away insteed. YEa its hilarious watching their noodly arms flail in the wind as they run fo r the hills or the nearest non flamable building. Ohhh yea its a pain when they run away but the chase is half the fun? [/color] He said as he slowly shook his head as he thought about all the people who ran away from him. WIth his thoughts more focused then they usually are he grabbed one of his swords and looked to the person who challanged his to a sparring match.

Be warned i do not know how to take it easy so yell momma or poppa or whatever you want to yell to slowthe fight down. Ohhh i will even let you start it so that it will make things more interesting... well for me anyway. He said in a usual cocky manner as the grin formed upon his lips.

ENTER KAI LAM'S POST

"Don't worry Mike, I have no intention of going easy. Let's go!" Kai's voice gave off friendly confidence, indicating he did intend on going all-in but in the least malicious way possible. Once he finished speaking Kai assumed a stance of preparedness, keeping his feet about shoulder-width apart and both hands raised and open in front of him. Though not a martial art master by a long shot, Kai's hand to hand skills had steadily developed and refined over time and from battle to battle. By this point he was confident in his ability to take down weak opponents without even needing to use any Stance at all, though his Jade Flames were still his go-to ability. From his current position he could strike out or defend in almost any manner necessary, giving him plenty of freedom to choose how to go about starting the match.

After settling on a strategy, Kai's eyes glinted with determination as the corners of his mouth tilted up in a cheeky smile. In one swift motion Kai shifted his left foot forward and punched with his opposite fist. This action sent a small blast of glowing green fire careening toward Mike's chest at a rapid pace. Following this, Kai pulled his left leg in and dropped to his side, sweeping his right leg out in a wide arc. This too sent out fire, though this time in the form of a large wave which would envelop his opponent's legs. Smoothly moving on to another attack, Kai quickly positioned himself so he was laying parallel to the ground. Then, he kicked his legs up and did a backflip into a standing position, sending a large pillar of flame nearly four meters tall directly for Mike. After all three burning attacks took place, Kai assumed an aggressive stance and summoned his gigantic polearm weapon Erphtal, wielding the guandao with both hands. "Let's see what you've got!"

Mike looked to Kai as he took a stance with no weapon in hand. Ohhhh this is a hand to hand sparry spar thing? ohhhh why didn't you say so in the first place..... He said with a laugh as he threw his sword up into the air as the first attack charged towards him he jumped upwords into the air at an awkward angle to anyone watching them. I hope this ends up better then the ast time we tried this. It was a mess. As he moved through the air the attack missed his by a hairs breath and the sword he threw up into the air was resheethed within on simplistic motion as he moved through the air. For the love of all that is holy do not try to be to flashy. That can lead to our downfall.

Why dont you just shut it and leave the fighty punchy time to me? as the first attack was avoided the second came towards him as well. THis was quite the onslaught but he was ready for it. WIth a slight forward flip he managed to avoid the attack by a hairs breath yet again. Though some would have to ask the question if he was avoiding the attacks bearly on purpose or was it truely that close for comfort when he was fighting him. Are you sure you don't belong in the kitchen insteed of fighting. You know making steaks or something that fire seems perfect for cooking me up some steaks.. As the final attack came his way he was not able to avoid it in time. THe attack would hit but it would only hit his hand burning his hand ever so slightly and destroying the part of his outfit that covered his hands.

Ouchy that was my favorite hand. ohhh yea i guess the outfit is important to. He said as the burn marks seemed to be gone within a matter of seconds as he laughed. As soon as his foot touched the ground he dashed towards Kai Throwing a strong punch to his gut. Though the fighing style he was useing seemed more like a strange dance then any fighting style that would be seen now a days. As soon as the punch was thrown a kick would follow right behind it. A round house kick that was aimed right at Kai's head. not long after the kick another kick would follow this one aiming at his gut. It may be clear that he was possibly just fighting to have fun but it was also clear that even goofing off as he was he actually knew exactly what he was doing with each attack showing his skill in hand to hand combat.

Out of all the opponents he'd faced, this costumed weirdo was perhaps the strangest. Ignoring the tights, Mike seemed genuinely out of his mind. Also, Kai cringed at his jokes. The Vanguard Warden's thoughts weren't too kind either. Screw it, time to ramp up. Once he noticed his foe could regenerate, Kai figured he was in the free and clear to start using more powerful flames in this bout between glorified comic book characters. At the very least he would need to start using attacks stronger than what he'd just done because Mike wasn't even fazed by them. "Yeah just wait buddy, now that I'm warmed up things will start getting interesting." Satisfied with his horrendous pun, Kai prepared to keep fighting.

Kai was fully prepared for Mike's attacks. With a hand enveloped in green flames capable of melting through steel as if it was butter, Kai blocked Mike's punch with an open palm deflection. If the punch went through, there was a good chance the masked man would experience fourth degree burns going all the way to his bones. Still, Kai felt the man's strength and knew it was nothing to scoff at. However, neither was his own. Possessing enough physical power to toss entire cars, blocking Mike's kick with the back of his lower left arm wasn't terribly difficult. This defense, too, possessed glowing green fire to enhance the block and potentially harm Mike in the process. The man's second kick had a similar response. By using his right hand, Kai smacked his opponent's leg out of the way as it came toward him, once again potentially burning the man to the bone. Now it was time to go on the offensive.

Kai struck forward with both his hands in a double open palm attack against Mike's chest, his arms enveloped in jade fire to enhance the action. However instead of settling with just a physical attack, once his hands either hit Mike or his arms fully extended, a miniature explosion of green fire would burst forth. This inferno would spread till it was about three meters wide, plenty large enough to completely encompass both fighters. If Mike wasn't careful he was about to be cooked, except this time to a much more fatal degree.

mike looked to the man as he shook his head. [color=red] My my arn't we the fire bug. Can i call you flamy McFlamypants?" His hand would have already healed from the burnning damage and his foot would have started healing.As soon as he noted the attack he knew he could not do this often but he felt the need the need for poofy time. As soon as the attack wound have hit him a red and black puff of smoke would appear where mike onced was and he was completely gone. A few feet behind Kai a simmular puff of smoke would appear and mike would stand out of the smoke waveing his hands over his face. You could tell he was in pain but oddly enough it would seem as if he did not notice it at all.

They really should make this place a no smoking zone. He said with a slight chuckle as he looked to kai. And y ou need to lay off of the fire you m ay cause a fire that i wont be the cause of... We can't have that now can we? He said as he grabbed the hilt of his swords but he moved them to where he would be strikeing witht he dull side insteed of the sharp. If your going to be all flamy i am going to be all. With that he would dart towards the target yet again and he would swing his sword diagonally left to right then followed by a right to left swipe a smile plastered upon his lips. Ohhh and do not worry i will not attack with the stabby stabby side of the blade so you should be fine if it hits.

He said with a smile though the healed hand would still look rather damaged even though it was clear it was not from the damage it had sustained from the burns. I told you not to be flashy you never listen to me. And i told you to shut up we can handle the fighty time in our own way. After all it is just a spar so not like it will matter if i win or loose. He was not sure why those words came out of his mouth but he did know that they rang true all the same.

ENTER KAI LAM'S POST

Ok, this was starting to get ridiculous. It was like this guy was from a cartoon! The flame-covered combatant's eyes squinted and a frown plastered his face as he took umbrage to this man's actions. Not only was he healing from severe burns, but for just a second Kai thought he teleported. Despite his experiences fighting individuals capable of destroying entire cities like nothing, that seemed a bit far-fetched. Guess this world is more insane than I imagined... he thought silently to himself.

As soon as his opponent brandished two katanas and rushed him, Kai reacted instinctively by switching to his Assault Stance. This summoned a thick short sword in his left hand and a thinner long sword in his right, both impressively sharp and durable. Certainly enough to match Mike's own weapons in this spar. This change was accompanied by an incredible increase in Kai's physical strength, while simultaneously decreasing his overall defense and ability to ignore pain. Though his muscle mass didn't really increase, from the engorged veins and flexed arms it was clear something was different, even if Mike wasn't really focusing on it.

Due to growing over time as an individual and fighter, Kai had never quite felt this much power from his Assault Stance before. In fact, when he met Mike's strikes with his own Kai was shocked at how strongly he swung his blades. Sparks flew from these collisions, their weapons creating a light show amidst the wild of Earth's Wastelands. Loud cracks rang through the air, indicating the clash of two capable warriors. In response to Mike's statements, Kai struck quickly with both swords in rapid succession, aiming to send pain through the man's arms from having to block his attacks. "Well considering you have regeneration, maybe that means I don't have to hold back. As he spoke a very slight, almost impossible to detect, glow covered Kai's entire body as his Mandate of Heaven continued to keep his power elevated above where by all metrics it should actually be.

Mike could not help but wounder how this was going to go. He did not know that this person can use swords to. This ended up making him more and more imterested in this person. Ohhhh you can go staby staby to? that's so awesome. He said as he stated as he blocked the sucsessive strikes with strikes of his own causing sparks to fly from the weapons yet again causing mike to go star eyed at the splendor of it all. There was little to no pain from the attacks being countered and the sparks simple made him give a gidy little laugh. Ohhh i do so love sparks always make me think of something about to go boom!

He stated with a laugh as he jumped back and readied himself for his own attacks. He had not had this much fun sense he had gotten here. He was to engrosed with everything else to notice any of the changes within the person he was fighting though. As soon as he locked eyes on the target he charged forward laughing as he did so. Many would say the laugh sounded insane but it was just his way to say he was happy. As soon as he got close to the target he did a slight little spin to add some umph to his attack that went right to left aimed at the sparring partners chest. He was still attacking with the blunt side not wanting to do any serious damage. Soon after the attack he would bring his other weapon down in a strong downward strike.

He was having to much fun now and this caused the rare momments of silence to h appen with his voices actually leaving him alone for once. He was not sure what it was about all this but he was going close to full force but oddly enough he would still seem to be holding back sense he was not actually aiming to hurt or even maim the target in this sparring match. He figured might as well have fun with this as long as he could. Soon after his downward strike he would launch one final attack that would move from lower left to upper right with both his swords at the same time. Anyone looking at him would see the spark in his eyes as he laughed. Ohhh flamy McFlameypants i do not remember the last time i had this much fun. he said as he continued to laugh. Though all his attacks were still done with the blunt end of the weapons though so even if the strikes hit the worst they could do is give the target bruises.
