» Appearance Written: He stands at approximately 6 feet tall, and his build is of an average proportion for his height. His body is rather toned, however, each muscle constantly appearing to be slightly flexed, although that not being the case. His facial structure is Germanic, featuring a strong jawline on an oval structure. His nose isn’t more pronounced than average and typical for Germanic, and his lips are slightly thinned. His darker brown hair is fairly short, not over 2 inches anywhere, and fashionably unkempt. His chocolate-colored eyes are an almond shape, with longer eyelashes, and with moderate eyebrows. His hands are slightly longer than average, and slightly more slender. Overall, he isn’t abnormally attractive or handsome, but does have that average charm to him. He wears the typical shihakusho and sandals of the Shinigami.

» Personality: Hayden is headstrong, focused, and fairly disconnected from people. He's confident in his abilities to their extent, but not much further. Because of this, he tends to avoid fighting opponents much stronger than him, accepting his chances of defeat under more wide gaps in skill and power. When he does get involved, he keeps himself in front of his allies as much as he can out of a desire to protect, feeling personally responsible for people's safety if he can protect them. However, he is generally emotionally distant out of social anxiety, preferring to keep to himself as much as possible. He simply has a hard time connecting with people. Because of the introverted nature, he doesn't speak up much in groups larger than 5, unless he feels what he has to say is important or is comfortable with the people in the room, although is perfectly fine in smaller groups. Due to this, he's had a harder time making friends, most of his relationships being nothing more than acquaintances. He doesn't have any hatred towards hollows, arrancar, or other kinds as a whole, knowing that they are likely just stuck as their kind due to circumstances, however he does have a strong distaste for the residents of hell as most would. Aside from those traits, he is otherwise a fairly run-of-the mill man.



» History: Hayden Cemplus was born in Athens, Greece, in the 23rd century, 2201. His father was a Greek native, ancestry in the country dating back to before Alexander the Great. His mother, on the other hand, was a Germanic/Japanese migrant to Greece, and his facial structure took more to the Germanic side of the family. His childhood was relatively peaceful. An introverted kid, he took an interest in literature and music most of all, spending much of his free time indoors with a book. His highschool years were spent in the United States as a foreign exchange student, and he did well enough to at the very least not be removed from the program, Band and an AP English class keeping his GPA above the waterline. But he eventually returned to Greece and served in the Hellenic army for four years, going on several deployments and even qualifying for special forces training during a portion of it. But he had other plans, finding the job more trouble than it was worth, and instead didn't sign an additional four years, returning to his home

With the death of his Grandmother on his mother's side during his time in their army, he inherited a house in Japan just outside Tokyo, and had moved in there simply to begin living on his own a short time after he left the military, leaving as soon as the paperwork to migrate went through. He lived for a couple years in a relatively simple life, going into the city every other day to work in an office. He stayed secluded and distant to most people, as normal, but eventually worked up the courage to ask a woman out and even go on a few dates. He had eventually learned her father, who she was still living with, was abusing her, and in a state of rage never before seen from the man, marched right over to confront his lover's abuser, and a certain protective instinct awakened inside of him from the pure anger he felt. Hayden was much stronger than the father, but was entirely caught off-guard, shot and killed by the man in a single instant. The father was excused in court as it was deemed self-defense, and what he was doing never came to light in the courts.

Hayden stuck to the woman he had fallen for, following around and becoming a Tsukirei. He lasted years, over time becoming so aggressive he even attempted to fight off the first shinigami he had met, a lower powered one without a shikai, and won (albeit unable to kill him). It wasn't until the father was dead after 4 years, in an unfortunate "accident" that he accepted moving on to the soul society, finding himself in one of the western districts of the Rukongai for a few years before eventually beginning a journey to become a shinigami. He achieved the threshhold in a slightly faster time frame than normal souls, and joined as soon as he possibly could.

His training itself was not very hard. He developed a more defensive style of fighting in order to combat the aggression of hollows he had heard about, typically using a reverse-grip to hold the sword against his forearm and block strikes, and did well enough as far as melee combat went. However, he was only passable at kido, at the very least able to cast without it blowing up in his face, albiet to little effect. But this didn't bother him, swordsmanship was his forte and he would stick to it. He didn't graduate the shinigami academy at the top of his class, but he passed nonetheless, performing average overall. There wasn't much notable to speak of during this time, as he mostly kept to himself as much as possible, making no enemies or true friends that would stick with him past this time. He only focused on himself and what he needed to do to complete his courses and training. he communed with Praetorius soon after his graduation, and the two formed a rougher relationship.

He was much younger when his powers first awakened, but continued to focus on training his style of blocks instead of officially joining the Gotei 13, not focused on the attacking portion of his style. Everyone he knew had their own methods of some special attack, but very few he met were as defensive as he was, relying more on wearing his opponents down than overpowering them, so he thought he would let his attacks come naturally and practice them only on occasion. He simply relied on the small, weaker hollow as practice, not extending past his limits much, just focusing on refining technique he would use for the years to come.

» Zanpakutô Name: Praetorius

» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Praetorius takes two forms. He is either a large stone obelisk, made from a material that looks like marble, unmoving and with a more booming voice that echoes throughout the spirit world. Or, he is wearing armor like a Greek hopolite, colored black. He wields a gladius sword, and a large coffin-shield. The physical build changes, and when the helmet is removed, the face and hair are whatever he want himself to be. His voice is always the same as when he is a monolith while the helmet is on, but when the helmet is removed, he can sound, again, like whoever he wants.

» Inner World: The inner world is an large forest, trees the size of skyscrapers, with a canopy that only lets enough light through to be dimly lit on the ground. Tall, imposing, the trees seem to be indestructible, the bark rough and sharp enough to cut. The space between trees is only about 6 meters. give or take a couple in some spots. The green grass on the ground runs partially up the trunks of the trees by a few feet, and in contrast to the bark, is gentle, almost relaxing to touch.

» Zanpakutô Appearance: The blade is a single-edge damascus steel straight blade approximately 1 meter long. The handle adds another 15.2cm in length. The sheath fits the blade and is 3cm longer, and flushes perfectly with the handle. The handle and sheath are constructed out of birch wood, giving them a light color. Their cross section is 4.8 cm in length, and 2.8 cm in width, with an uneven fillet that leads to an almost oval shape, with about about 0.8 cm flat on the front and back and 1.8 cm flat on the side. When he unlocks/unlocked his bankai, the handle and sheath change, sporting golden inlay, from top to bottom that resembles vine growth, lined up perfectly where the sheath and handle meet.

» Sealed Zanpakutô Power: The sword has increased durability, increasing the upwards strength range in which it can take hits from, being two classes up. The kinetic energy is all still applied and he does feel all that the sword itself is not carrying, so if he were to block an elite-strength blow while he's only adept, he will still suffer from the kinetic energy continuing through him that he could not take himself.



» Shikai Release Phrase: Defend, Praetorius

» Shikai Appearance: When released to shikai, it becomes a black circular shield, with a diameter of about 0.6 meters. On the front face of the shield there is a metallic cyan greek fret pattern running along the radius, spaced about one centimeter from the edge, and being 4 centimeters. It also lacks any straps of visible anchoring to his body, seeming to just stick to him.

» Shikai Abilities: The shield's strength comes from Hayden focusing his energy into it's defensive capabilities. While kinetic energy is slightly dispersed along the surface of the shield (about 15% efficiency), other energy (thermal aside) is dispersed along the surface perfectly (though any kinetic energy received alongside it remains to its own dispersion), splaying out enough so it is protecting him and anything almost directly behind him (farther away behind him, the more clearance there is). It can be thrown, and will return to him upon the clench of a fist, where it will accelerate to the highest velocity during it's throw until it returns to him. It lacks a strap due to the ability to move around his body, sliding according to his will. Shikai provides no bonuses to Hayden himself aside from what would typically come with releasing into shikai, and he is restricted from using kido while in a shikai state.



» Bankai Release Phrase: Bankai

» Bankai Appearance: A black version of his sealed sword, with 3 streams of golden metal covering over possible breaking points for his blade (randomized each time he releases bankai) as if having been repaired. The shield also still exists, although there are four randomized rivers of gold running from the very edge of the shield to the very center, seeming as if they serve the same process as they do on the sword. There is also a black plate on his right forearm and a matching elbow guard, and plating on the front and back of his lower legs. As far as his shihakusho goes, it turns to a more slender appearance, fitting his form better, and the sleeves of the robe disappear to expose his arms.

» Bankai Abilities: Instead of dispersion, the shield's ability changes to absorption. The kinetic energy is stored (25% efficiency, the rest carrying through as normal) can be released from the elbow, back edge of the sword, and backs of the leg armor to propel him in an aimed direction and increase the force behind his blows. Reishi is absorbed at the same efficiency, with the rest dispersing as in shikai. It can then be released from the front edge of the sword in a singular swipe, releasing out as a wave, or more like that of a cero if he were to stab. However, this is all single-use, requiring the storage of more reishi to use again. Other energy types are dispersed as normal. He gains control over the form of the shield, using a pull motion to extend it outwards in any direction, or pushing in to compact any given spot. The shield will not expand further than 5 squared meters of outer surface area, and will not compact smaller than 0.3 meters. Upon a throw, it will revert to the normal state and will return to the form it was previously upon return.

» Roleplay Sample: Anhur had raised the arm of his mech swiftly, trying to keep himself calm as he let the bronze-colored armor tank the blow of the sword. The shining green blade of the Titan he was facing, taller than the mecha he was piloting by several feet, had embedded into the appendage, but that was a good thing, as the adaptive armor of the vehicle would simply adjust to make the weapon a non-issue from that point on. A much appreciated feature of the God of War. He glanced to the left for a split-second in the direction of his wife and her own battle against a more nimble opponent, looking at her through the viewing screen that surrounded him in the cockpit, though unable to do anything to interfere. His eyes back towards his own opponent as the bright red eyes of his mech began to charge up for an attack.

He was afraid of this species, large hulking bipedal lizards of silver skin, and was unsure how much strength he could match in the vehicle without the use of the rage burning. This was their own technology turned against them, he thought to himself, but it was millennia old, there was the possibility of it not holding up against their kind's advancements. And that was what he was afraid of. He only hoped his robotic namesake was capable of handling these adversaries.

Nonetheless, the charge time had been maximized to only a split second in its years of service, the bridge of the nose opening up the moment the weapon was let lose in a wide arc. He had aimed the weapon right at his opponent's scaly, but inadequately armored throat, and it did not even last a half a second, clearing through everything in its path until it hit the atmospheric barrier of the planet that annihilated everything. But this wasn't any time to stop, he needed to back up and let his eyes finish smoking before he was struck by another, so his immediate reaction was to press his feet down and command the mech to lift off from the ground. Three seconds of action from the impact to the lift-off, just like he had practiced in the former war against the Persian Nation, but he was on a much more even playing field now.
