• Unendliche Herz (Infinite Heart): The heat that encases Alastair's skin can now be channelled into the Unendliche Herz, which allows him to take on an aspect of the mythical phoenix that is his Vollständig's namesake - self-restoration. In essence, the Unendliche Herz focuses upon self-preservation. It is an unorthodox power that purifies his body; expunging foreign entities, curing ailments, and healing injuries.
  
  Externally, at skin level, the heat that encases his body acts as a healing agent to cauterise wounds and seal them against further infection or contamination. This is usually visualised as white-hot flames that lick away at the damage and leave ashen stains that eventually crumble away to reveal unblemished flesh in their wake. Internally, when fighting against a disease or repairing damaged bones or organs, the Phoenician Heart acts in an aggressive manner relative to the scale of the condition. Whilst this part of the ability is in effect, Alastair’s skin can be seen to glow brighter around the injuries whilst arteries and veins become more defined much like when he was using his Blut.
  
  Whilst in the Vollständig state, Alastair has healing capabilities comparable to the Regeneration Arrancar Skill equal to his Quincy Spellcraft skill. This regeneration will kick in subconsciously whenever his body sustains damage, but whilst it is actively working his Blut skill and any abilities therein are disabled and cannot be used until either Alastair's body is completely healed or he is no longer in the release state.
  
  The power of this ability is limited by the fact that it is tied to his release state, so can only last for a fixed duration before he is left to his own devices again. Also, like Flammenkranz, this ability is hampered by water in all its forms. Heavy rainfall will simply turn this ability off, whilst simply being splashed would hamper the regeneration process to some extent too.
  

» Why: Alastair has gone through plenty of significant points of character development beats, which has enhanced his physical abilities but has also always been driven by his own self-belief and grit. In general, he has survived fighting beings significantly more powerful than him on several occasions whilst facing them in single combat or as part of a team and remained stoic in his beliefs and ideals throughout. Moreso than his physical ability, he has developed and nurtured a growing mental fortitude that belies a level of willpower at a notable level above that of its current rank.

The best place to start in terms of establishing Alastair's gradual increase in willpower is to look at his general attitude in a whole bunch of social threads. There's not really one standout from any of the shortlist above but rather combined they can summarise his single-minded desire to make the world a better place for those around him regardless of the personal cost. From committing himself to helping Reida overcome her personal demons to debating his wider ideals and aspirations with both Shirohime and Liltotto, he is impacted by each of these conversations in different ways but rather than simply folding to the whims of others he adopts them into his own outlook going forwards.

The first real test of Alastair as a character is spread across the Jefferson City event, where he watched his squad of fellow Sternritter be whittled down over the course of several different combats until he was the only member of the Vandenreich left in his section. He took charge of the situation following the loss of his commanding officer and dealt with Yaksha's attempts to undermine his leadership to the best of his abilities, eventually coordinating a combined attack to bring down the big bad. Even in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds, as his comrades were looking to him for orders and guidance, Alastair did his best to stand tall and remained stalwart throughout.

Having returned from Jefferson, and seeking to further motivate himself, Alastair took up the offer of a training bout with Uriel. Though the Administrator was holding back for most of the fight for the sake of fairness, Uriel still released his Letzt Stil and attacked Alastair. Though completely outclassed in the physical department, he earned Uriel's respect with his mentality and determination, standing tall until the final blow knocked him on his ass.

A less martial thread compared to the others picked out specifically, Alastair and Helle conversed in detail about their morals. Uniquely compared to the other assorted social threads, Helle forced him to act upon his words. She actually held him somewhat accountable for his brazen statements, though, by tasking him with saving a fish from dying despite knowing that he would be drenched in freezing water from the depths of the ocean. He did not buckle in the face of the pressure and impressed the Director with his devotion to his morals despite the injury that it caused him to do so. Not only does he stand up to Helle's inquisition, but he meets her challenge and then endures the aftermath.

Taking charge of the fateful Anaconda mission, Alastair was forced to put his life on the line to protect his allies whilst facing an unknown enemy whose power was much greater than his own. Declining a ceasefire, believing in his comrades to complete their objectives whilst he kept his opponent busy, he suffered grievous injuries but still remained determined to put on a brave face until the very end.

Regarding the other upgrade, when his app was first made, Alastair's Vollständig was still intended to be in its infancy and representative of his skill rank at Beginner Spellcraft. Whilst I never did a specific thread addressing the changes his release state has undergone in detail, he has now used his Vollständig on multiple occasions and incorporated new abilities which have improved upon what was once a niche ability into something more in line with the powerset I want to build upon and the rank his Quincy Spellcraft now sits at.
