Thieves in conjunction! Empty Re: Thieves in conjunction!

There was more than one candy thief in this particular store. There was no way to prevent this particular thief from working his magic. This 'loss prevention' person probably didn't even know that this thief existed. But he did. He had existed for hundreds of years, surrounded by ignorant humans. Humans who made candy to sell, only to have it stolen. One might call humans pathetic for having their food stolen so easily. However, without humans, everyone who stole from humans would probably starve. That is, unless you're this particular thief, who would probably go on to eat his actual food, other hollow.

Redd may have noticed that he was not the only one raiding. The fist sign may be empty candy wrappers. Freshly opened and tossed to the floor. These weren't there when he entered, and only started appearing shortly after he arrived. A few places were hit first. Lollipops disappeared. Gummi candy and sour candy were the next. Wrappers lay on the floor from these, dispersed by the occasional gum or chocolate bar wrapper.

The creature doing this made itself apparent. A little black and white child, oddly monotone in a world of color. Slung over his shoulder was a blade that was far too long for him to wield properly; it looked to be made for someone at least ten years his senior. His clothes were loose and oversized and he ran barefoot. The oddest thing about him would be a white centipede of clay that ran down his face and under his shirt. An arrancar, stealing candy. The moment he appeared, he disappeared again with a sound of static. His speed made it hard to track, perhaps rivaling or faster than Redd's own speed.

It seemed Desalmado was raiding again. He paid no attention to the people around him, to him they were all humans and probably couldn't see him. So long as he didn't know into someone, there's no way anyone would notice him, right?

[size=11]Desalmado paused only when another stranger started calling him out. Wrong? It was wrong? Nothing was wrong, everything was beautiful. The color and the flavor of sweets was good. The speed he ran at was good. The joy he felt was good. What could possibly be wrong here? The stranger approached him and carefully took the gum from his fingers, talking. He thought that the other was probably going to chastise him, as adults tend to do. However, something different happened.

The stranger got a gleam in his eye. The young arrancar recognized it immediately. A child lived in this adult. A child, rising to meet another child. Their childishness was a camaraderie that nothing could break but each other, over reasons never big and only as small as their bodies. Everything was a game, everything could be played with. The world was not one oyster, but a sea full of them with an uncountable number of pearls and disappointments and they would seek every oyster until sated.

Just like that, stealing became a game. A competition. And Desalmado was sure he was going to win, just as the stranger must've been sure. The adults, confused and concerned, couldn't understand a stranger who spoke to the air and then disappeared. Desalmado landed on a shelf, grinning from ear to ear. "You're on!" He shouted into the air, and disappeared himself.

There were quite a few concerns with this game, of course. What counted as candy? How much? How would they measure the amount of candy? What was the time limit? But the children didn't care. Winning was not the only thing here, it was also the joy of running and laughing, competition for the sake of competition and the feeling of comrades in thievery and speed. Nothing was like it. Nothing could replace it. They both knew this, and so they both ran with all they could muster.

Desalmado grabbed everything he could. Jelly beans, gummi bears, swedish fish, caramel chocolates and hard caramel candies. Lolipops, sweet baked things, chips, trail mix, even sweet cereals. He took everything he could and more. Of course, there was also the phrase 'get out with it', but Desalmado didn't pay attention to that little detail. He was not so... cleverly minded. He just focused on gathering as much as he could with his impressive speed. /size]

In Desalmado's ignorance, he believed he was winning. He had stuffed as much as he could into a bag in the span of two minutes, ignorant to the fact he had already lost.

Blind from his speed, the young arrancar dashed out, knocking over the security guard as he ran into the parking lot. The man had been knocked out cold from the contact and it caused Des himself to be thrown off balance, faceplanting into the pavement and rolling into the sharp stones, stripping at his skin in a manner that would make anyone who had seen the injury wince in sudden pain. The child lay there for a few moments, his bag of candy tossed and open, a garbage full of sweets and confections. His body didn't breathe and it didn't move.

It was a surprise he was injured at all. It was only a testament to his incredibly pitiful hierro, so pitiful that even low gillian had probably long beat him in that aspect. A minute or so later, far longer than it should've been, his arms slowly twitched to life and pulled his small body up as if he was lifting with it the world. Perhaps from his angle,Redd couldn't see his facial expression. If he did, he would've known it to be absolutely chilling. Angry claw marks coated one side of his face, his eyelid had been ripped away and hung by a few strings of tissue, slapping against his cheek from being blown in the wind. Yet still he smiled with teeth stained red with his own blood.

Desalmado's injuries healed within moments though. Perhaps he didn't want the other man to see his wounds, and so had the regeneration process speed up. The eyelid was pulled back on as tissue healed and he got up, dusting himself off. Droplets of blood that leaked out splashed on one side of his face. Redd could tell, as the child arranar picked up his candy bag and walked on back, that the blood on his cheek wasn't moving like normal blood. It didn't trail down. Instead it lifted tentatively off his skin, forming into three small, thin squares, hovering just above his skin. The arrancar didn't seem to notice it.

Desalmado grinned at the stranger. "Winner Winner! You're the winner! Have reward!" He spoke to him, smiling still. He opened his large bag of sweets and candy to Redd, grinning as always. He sat down beside the other, looking expectantly. To the victor go to the spoils, of course. He didn't seem saddened by his loss, in fact he seemed just as overjoyed as if he had won. Likely, Desalmado wasn't offering his entire bag to Redd, but wanted to congradulate him on winning by letting him take his pick.

Desalmado wasn't having any of Redd's excuses today. Then again, normally, excuses did nothing to phase him. The child arrancar let the shinigami stutter for a bit, grinning at him in a manner that expressed complete incomprehension at what was going on and why he was saying such words.

Instead, once Redd started to turn around, there was the sound of a bag of candies being dropped to the pavement. Probably, some hard candies shattered at the impact, but Desalmado was not concerned about the small things. Instead, he had only one thing to focus on his mind: he wouldn't let this new friend get away so quickly. There was the sound of static.

Then Desalmado attempted to barrel into Redd himself, laughing.
