An insistent tapping seemed to echo through the halls of the seventh division. There was one member that couldn't sit still even if he was supposed to. There was a meeting going on, but he didn't want top hear about it. They didn't have a captain at the moment, and some of the other members were plotting ways to get a captain to come over. Jin on the other hand didn't care to have another captain. He honestly hated the rules someone else might place on the division, and listening to them would drive him crazy. Jin, calm down, no Captain will come to this division....They'd kill themselves within a week. Jin gave a half chuckle just before stopping in his tracks with his eyes staring at the members beside him. His lips slithered open, his eyes almost staring soullessly in their direction.

"Why don't one of you take over if you're so concerned about it?"

He continued to stare at them, soaking in their bewilderment before turning on his heel and striding toward the opening to their room. His hands slipped into his pockets, his eyes looking toward the ceiling. There had to be something he could do that wouldn't make him want to tear his eyes out of his skull; then, as if he had just found the cure for whatever horrible plague would hit the real world, it came to him. He hadn't been in a fight in so long, he forgot what the taste of his own blood was like, he forgot how cold steel felt against his skin. In the centuries Jin became more and more like a masochist, something he would never admit, but the feeling of being driven to his best. He grinned, but staring back at the division, he scoffed. There weren't many people stronger than him in his own division, and the people that were close were never around. They were off doing their job, or something like that. He grinned, and knew exactly where to go.

Taking his feet, he once more spun on the heel of his foot moving toward his next destination. Gradually adding in the new, and improved shunpo capabilities. Tap, tap, tap, and in a matter of seconds he stared up, looking at the sixth division. This division had something that the seventh division didn't...the unknown. Jin didn't spend much time outside of the seventh division. Well, unless he was going to the human world. His smile returned as he slowly waltzed into the courtyard. Light silver strands fell in front of his face with his while two crimson eyes stared alone the ridges of the buildings. He chuckled just before letting his voice bellow out.

"Yo....Anyone here looking to spar. I'm looking to kick some ass...."

He laughed loudly, letting his reietsu leak ever so slightly, mimicking that of a shinigami that had just unlocked their shikai. Something just slightly less powerful than himself. His heart skipped a beat as members of this division started to gather around. They didn't take to kindly to his remarks, but they weren't worthy. Jin was sure there was someone in this collection of stone, and wood that could give him a challenge.

"Are you that much of a weakling that you have to make boasts like that?"

These words originated from above the rest of the crowd. Fluttering in the air was a bright red haired female. Blue eyes glittered in their sockets, and every so often, as the wind rustled her hair, small horns could be seen beneath it. Behind her back red wings beat up and down, keeping her afloat as her glistening red tail curled up behind her. On the back of her hands one could spot reddish scales glinting in the sun, traveling upwards in to her shinigami outfit. This outfit was for the most part pretty standard, except for the obvious need to fit it for her additional limbs. The only other difference was right above her left breast, a dragon emblem had been embroidered in to the outfit in red.

The rest of the crowd would scamper back as she floated closer, they knew too well of her fighting style to want to be anywhere near the battle field. As for the woman, she looked thoroughly embarrassed at her sudden outburst. Looking at the man's feet, she spoke in a timid voice this time, quite unlike the voice she had before.

"I j-just meant I-I'll be your opponent. I-I'm Tessa Morrowend, pleasure to make your acquintance."

With that she drew her zanpaktou, and flew directly at him, coming in head first. As she came within range, she thrust her sword out, aiming for the man's sword arm. However, it would be easy to parry, she wasn't intending to fight for real, not just yet anyhow. She was just attempting to gauge this man's ability. Flying off away after her first strike, she landed within ten meters of the man, sword raised in a defensive position.

"It is not my intention to harm you, though I can not guarantee your safety if you decide to confront me. I am not sure whether I would be able to restrain myself if you push me too far. That is, assuming you are strong enough to do so."

There was silence all around the division. Jin's eyes scaled from point to point, his lips slowly curling to the south into a frown. His head drooped, and a loud sigh escape from his lips. Perhaps he had been wrong about this division, perhaps there wasn't someone here worth his time. Of course, that was until he heard a very feminine, yet assertive voice come from above the large crowd. That frown that had made it's home across his features was quickly turned into a grin and that sigh had in even shorter time turned into a chuckle. If this person was able to hover above the others, then they were surely had real control over their reiryoku, and reietsu.

Leaning his body forward, and quickly turning on his heels Jin looked up into the sky. The features that took over his face was nothing short of priceless. Wings, horns, and a dragon emblem on her shinigami outfit. What...was she? It was clear she was different, but Jin never let someones looks weigh to heavily on his opinion of them. Flashbacks started to erupt in his mind as his hand ran across the back of his neck. The soft bandages were started to ware thin, and they would surely come off as soon as this fight began. His eyes were sealed shut as he tried to squeeze the memories from his mind. The scorching metal hugging his neck as tightly as muscle was bound to bone.

Snap out of it you fool! Jin's eyes snapped open as he stared at the young woman in front of him. She had just introduced herself. Jin gulped, shaking his head as the final, lasting memory fled his thoughts. He then smiled once more, bowing in return, and speaking once she was finished.
"The pleasures all mine. The name's Jin Hoshigawa." Jin still kept his reietsu around her level. He didn't want to scare her off. Not that he thought she would flee, but finally having an opponent was enough for him to stay. She drew her blade, and flung herself right at him. "Your form could use some work..." He said with a grin, obviously teasing her, before simply shunpoing out of her way. He didn't utilize his shunpo as well as he could, best to save his true abilities for later.

She didn't lack for spirit, that was for sure. Jin didn't draw his blade; not yet at least. He felt that she could do more. Instead Jin shifted his position just slightly shunpoing in front of her bring his fist in a straight line, but before he completely went through with the punch he shunpoed once more to just above her coming down with his leg aiming for her shoulder. He wondered what she would do next.

As the man came in, Tessa missed nothing. Flipping over as he appeared above her, she smiled for a moment. Flying came so easily to her, like it was second nature. Her wings beat under her, trying to keep her aloft like this, but they were only prolonging the inevitable. As his punch came towards her, she opened her mouth. Shinigami below scrambled away as, on instinct, Tessa let forth a blast of fire from her mouth. The heat of it would be extremely hot at this close of a distance, over 5,000 degrees Celsius. However, at the same time her body was flipping over, her wings unable to support her from the bottom. It wouldn't be too difficult to dodge the column of flames with a shunpo. Having done a one eighty in the air, Tessa flew off, wings flapping to keep her aloft.

"Safety can never be guaranteed when facing me. That is truth. Speak the truth, Gladius scientia."

Her sword was surrounded in a bright glow for a second, then it died, revealing little change in the blade. The guard was different, and the blade itself looked of european make. Extremely difficult to spot would be the seven runes engraved in the side of the blade.

"Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat! Bakudo 9, Hōrin"

What happened next caused gasps from the remaining crowd, because nothing happened. Tessa was well known for her ability to use Kidō, but yet she had seemingly failed this one. Tessa knew better though, the first rune on her blade had lit up, meaning the blade had eaten the Kidō. Flying towards the man, blade ready to strike, she would cast two more Kidō, both seeming to have no effect as well, though two additional runes would light up.

"Hadō 4 - Byakurai! Hadō 1 - Shō!"

Nearing wherever the man was now, she swung out her blade at him, attempting to strike him across the chest. Whether he realized what was happening with her Kidō or not meant nothing to her, he couldn't predict what would happen with them.

He wasn't much surprised that she was able to dodge his attack seeing as he didn't use his max speed, but there was something strange about her counter attack. Fire? Really? Jin watched as her body twirled in mid-air using those damned wings, the fire coming full circle toward him as she dodged his kick. Jin then shunpoed away making the distance between the two of them just aver ten feet while he prepared his counter attack. His eyes watched her, listened as she seemingly released her blade. It didn't change much besides a few details in it's design. She spoke of safety, but Jin was sure that she hadn't caught on to his full strength just yet, nor would she. Jin did however let a bit more of his reietsu slip, pushing his strength just a bit higher.

That was until he heard the incantation to a bakudo. So she can use Bakudo huh? Not too powerful, but I better prepare myself for an instant break out. Jin spoke to himself in his thoughts, going over his plan; then following up, he pushed his reietsu to the top that it could go. He knew he was stronger than her, and pushing his reietsu to it's peak would certainly allow him to break free of the low level bakudo. Then something strange happened. It didn't...work. He laughed to himself silently, then out loud.
"Are you fuckin' with me? You gotta be kiddin' me Tessa. I understand wanting to be a jack-of-all-trades kinda shinigami, but still..." Even for all of his boasting, Jin knew better than to count out anyone. He was merely trying to bait her into revealing her tricks. If she didn't, no matter, Jin was a natural Sherlock Holmes, and finding out what happened would be child's play.

That will have to wait you fool, she's preparing some Hadō. Release me! Jin scoffed at the idea, but if she were going to start using Hadō as well...well he would have to even the playing fields once more. As he started to pull the blade from it's resting place, Jin's eyes widened for a moment, but then closed again. Again? They didn't work again. What is she trying to do? He slowly resheathed his blade as now was not the time. The possibilities stormed in his mind. There were connections being made, but it couldn't be tested as she had already released her blade. But why wait? Kidō were most effective when they're actually successful. Why wait for her sword to be released to attempt, and then fail at casting them. His eyes moved from her to her sword. What was different about it? He watched her release the blade, but what made this form so special. Perhaps it was all coincidence, but he needed to see it for himself.

His legs shifted, and before he let himself shunpo, his lips opened as he spoke his own Kidō. The incantation flowed fluently, and when it was finished, his canines began to show as a wicked grin slithered across his cheeks.
"Legs like a jack rabbit's, reach for the sky! Bakudo 11 - Haru Bōdo" He then vanished, his shunpo carrying him, in an instant to her side. His eyes glancing not at her, but to her blade. He then moved again, shunpoing above her. His movements were precise, and he needed to be completely sure. The blade was lit up toward the base, but that was it. Every detail mattered to him. There was only once way to be sure. She needed to use more Kidō.

Shunpoing away, Jin sighed to himself as he slowly pulled the blade from it's sheath. Sleek black metal glistened in the sun as he held the blade forward in his right arm. His eyes staring at the young girl.
"Death be with you, Zetsumei." The blade emitted a crimson hue as it's shape shifted, and changed. The hilt and blade became all black, while the inside of the blade seemed to have "Spirits" like fire hidden of the inside. His cross-guard had three dogs heads in a circular motion while being just large enough to guard his hand completely. As the blade finished it's transformation Jin smiled wildly, shunpoing to the girls back bring his blade down in a swift, decisive stroke. Nothing that could kill her, but if it landed, the strike would have it's share of nasty side effects.

Tessa smiled, and grin that seemed so out of place as she watched him cast his bakudo, and decided to copy him.

"Legs like a jack rabbit's, reach for the sky! Bakudo 11, Haru Bōdo!"

For the first time in this fight, her Kidō actually activated, glowing around her feet as she attempted to use a flash step in mid air. Calmly, she reminded to solidify the air under her feet, and then pushed off in to the flash step just as the man released his blade. She came out behind him, swing her sword downward, but it seems that he had a similar idea, his flash step getting behind her. As he did though, she spoke a single word.

"Flames"

Fire burst in to form around each of her hands, then lashed out like a whip at the man's face as he came out of his flash step, and Tessa flash stepped out of the way of his blade, tripping as she came out on the other side. She wasn't used to using a flash step while flying yet, and she had to catch herself with her wings, gliding for a bit to regain her balance in the air. As she did, she started chanting more Kidō, the next three seeming to fail as well as three more runes lit up.

"Bakudo 30, Shitotsu Sansen! Combine with the Darkness and Lightning, Shocking them with it, Dark Shock. Hadō 29, Dākushokku! Sphere of power, form in my hand. See the light of the BURN! Hadō 8, Kaen-dama!"

Looking at him, tracking his movements, she cast a final Kidō.

"Bind them within the holy symbol! Bakudo 20, Binding Cross!"

A blue flash of reiatsu shone out as a cross made out her reiatsu was fired towards her opponent. If it hit him, he would literally be crucified upon it, bound to it with intense reiatsu ropes entangling his arms. Then she raised her sword, pointing the tip at his stomach.

"Learn your place, scum. Scientia improbos."

As the last word left her lips the man would realize what had happened to the Kidō she had been casting before. Like a machine gun, the six seemingly failed Kidō barreled out from her sword, one right after the other, all in the order she had cast them. If he had been hit by her binding cross, it was extremely doubtful that he would be able to stop these Kidō, being bound to cross after all. However, even if he wasn't, he would be facing six Kidō in a row, a couple of mere milliseconds separating each one. She watched, a smirk crawling up her lips without her realizing it.

Trickling down bloodless. [Tina/No Maim/No Death] Empty Re: Trickling down bloodless. [Tina/No Maim/No Death]

There something eerie about someone else using the same bakudo right after you. It seemed that her speed had matched his, even if her shunpo as a bit lacking in comparison. Despite that Jin could see the ware and tear that was happening with her. She had shot out her fire BEFORE she had turned around to face him. Wasting the time to turn, and giving him the chance to retreat from the flames. And with that momentary time lapse, Jin vanished retreating backwards away from the hot flames. He chuckled to himself but all the while one thought was racing in his mind. She used a Kidō...and it worked. What was different about this Kidō? Was it something about the Kidō itself? Perhaps only Kidō that effected the user worked with her. But then, why waste time casting other Kidō? Everything in his mind swung back to his original theory that it had to do with that blade of hers. But what?

Then ti happened again. Thee more Kidō seemingly failed all in a row. Jin ran around her, keeping his distance before he could come up with another strategy to face her. His eyes keeping on her sword, looking for the slightest difference within it. There, look at the blade you fool! Jin stared at the blade. Yes, the blade itself was lit even more. It neared the tip, instead of simply being at the base. Were they being stored? Could she fire them off at will, or were they simply going to make her strikes more powerful? He couldn't shake those questions, but then there wasn't going to be any time to check. Her next kiodu...her next incantation was a mighty powerful spell. It wasn't instant, but it could ensnare someone for quite some time.

Jin waited for her to reach the middle of the incantation with Jin bringing his sword across his own chest causing a small, but long cut to deface himself. Blood spilled, but as it had it shifted, and moved, twisting and turning. Out of the muck rose a beast that stood beside Jin. Then as the blue light lit up the battlefield, blinding the crowd, Jin and the dog moved from place to place. Grabbing the beast by it's neck and back, Jin tossed it into the air in front of him and he watched as the beast was caught instead in the trapped. The wolf like creature being crucified above him. Jin nodded, looking at the beast and then back to her.
"Nasty spell you got there Tessa. But I've got some nasty tricks of my own." Jin said mockingly as his finger tips touched the cut on his chest. His eyes shifting to her as he spoke once more. "You know, you must be getting tired; what with all those Kidō you've been casting. You've got some skills...but I'm afraid it's not enough."

He still kept his distance. He wasn't sure what that sword of hers was going to do, and he needed to be prepared for whatever was going to come his way. He had it narrowed down to two possibilities; the Kidō were being stored for later, or they were going to amp up her swords strength. She was keeping her distance, but she also could be waiting just like Jin was. However, He sighed to himself as his head drooped. His prayers were going to be answered, at least for curiosity sake. Jin's head rose, as did her blade. So that's it huh?" Jin remembered the order of her kiodu, and that seemed to be how they came out. Jin used his blade once more to cut himself, but this time on the left arm. As blood spilled, his dog sprawled out of the muck. He pointed in her direction and as the dog charged toward her, he was ensnared with the rope and then blasted by the lightning Kidō. This dog completely disbursing into a blood puddle once more.

Now, he had to deal with four more Kidō heading his way. The Shō was too far for it to be completely effective, simply causing Jin to nudge backwards a bit. He took off watching as the other Kidō started to head his way. The three pronged beam headed right for him with the dark lightning sphere headed right after it. Jin began to form a Hadō in his left hand while his sword was in his right. In an instant Jin brought down his sword crashing into the three pronged beam cutting it in half, then lifting his left hand he called out.
"Hadō 17 - Pulse Blast " The following blast caused a large pocket of dust to rise, hiding his position. Jin had rolled out of the way from the last kiodu, it whizzed past with 6th division members scurrying past one another to escape the blast radius. where was he though? Jin decided to stay inside of the dust calling out one last attacck.

"Shizuku No Suiha" Or drip of the acid tooth. The dog that had been crucified earlier disbursed turning into a sword like object now heading toward the woman who had previously been completely focused on Jin. If this attack landed, this girl would be in so much pain going on would be a surprise to even him.

OOC: Jin has advanced mental deduction, and deducing what your sword COULD do wasn't completely out of the question with all of the evidence that it gave away.

Tessa watched as he evaded all her Kidō, which surprised her a bit. He was a smart one, and he was right that she was starting to get worn out, but she still had plenty of energy left. However, this was worrying her, if things continued like this, it would definitely come out. No, she forced herself to concentrate, she couldn't worry about that. Her concentration had slipped for a moment though, and at that moment, the crucified dog turned in to a sword, shooting towards her. For a moment, her body moved on instinct, her movements completely different and many times faster then before. The blade passed by her, dodged by mere centimeters, then the instincts faded. Her breath came out ragged as she lifted a hand to her face, her face framed with fear. After a few seconds, she let herself float to the ground, her sword returning to its sealed form. Looking around, she spoke to her opponent.

"You know, it does seem that I am getting tired. Let's end this fight, it isn't worth the time or the risk after all. Feel free to stick around and talk, or mess with the others her, but I'm off."

Despite not looking nearly as exhausted as she was claiming, she walked back to the barracks, heading for her room. That had been one close call for her, she couldn't afford another mistake like that.
