"Mowgwa, what do you take me for, a degenerate?"
The man commentedly half-seriously before walking over to her to take his glass when she pour'd it, a natural swagger to the king. Perhaps it was because he was currently leading one of the strongest nations on earth, or perhaps because he was feeling rather moved by what she said. None the less he'd find himself sitting on a chair, his leg crossing briefly as sharp emerald eyes gazed at her. There was a piercingness to them, a mysterious that concealed his intentions as he heard she what she said. But briefly a thin smile coming onto her lips, at the very least bemused by what she said.
"If that is your goal, you have come to the best place within the lands to find it. I am almost like a blunt instrument when I say this, but if you sought purpose or meaning throwing the shackles of the gotei off and coming here was the best choice you could make." He'd inform before lifting the wine glass to his lips taking a sip, his eyes never leaving the woman. She was an interesting sort, almost tragically the type of person Vastime attracted. But he'd place the glass down.
"Your existence isn't a burden to me, perhaps what you may bring. But listen deeply, Chidori, take this as you will. Vastime attracts people like you, we seek people like you. The broken. The desolate. The dissatisfied. Those wayward sons and daughters who find no place within the world. We are the home for people like you. So never think your existence burdens me." He'd cross his fingers, verdant irises focusing on her. The bemused smile on his lips seemed to tug higher. "I too left the gotei because my purpose did not lie with them. Perhaps Vastime is but a temporary stop in your path, but I like think that perhaps we can give you a purpose. Perhaps, this visit was ordained if you're for the sorta belief."
There was a natural aura to the man, he leaked something of pride and resolve. That when he walked into the room everything seemed a bit sharper, more focused. A small taste of maybe melancholy resided with his order but just the mere presence of the man invoked the feeling of standing straighter. Thus, as his royal gaze focused on the woman he'd tilt his head. Undoing his fingers he'd rest an elbow on the arm rest, staring at her almost challengingly.
"You called me your king, perhaps that meant nothing but that was enough for me. You have the protection of my land, and my people. If you do not wish to go the gotei, I shall not force the issue. But, I will not allow you become dissolute." There was an edge to his voice, the sun rising around him seemed almost overwhelming. His broad figure cutting a sharp image, before he removed his head from knuckles. Leaning forward ever so slightly in anticipating of her reply.
"Perhaps, you will eventually find this land to not be to your liking. But till then, while you stay here, I will see to it you find that purpose. If I cannot as the king of a land sworn to protect his peoples prosperity, I would slit my wrists and offer my crown to that who could better. But I must ask, Chidori Shihoin, do you truly seek purpose? If so, why are we sitting in this room when there is a world awaiting to known your name?"
Her name, not her families. Not Vastime's. In this land, the Shihoin name mattered little. No, what Hayden offered was the idea of striking out now to cement her own legacy. To find her own purpose unbeholden to none. He was a bold man that some might seem as overbearing but if in his eyes this woman needed the push. Whatever her path she took, it would be her own and Hayden was offering the chance to find that.
