Seaside Fight Night: Yumichika vs. Reida

Ah, but Reida's style of fighting was reckless. It was, one might even say, outright suicidal. Do anything to win, no matter what it took. She'd picked it up back during her militia days, but it'd served her real well here in the Vandenreich, too. Her grin only stayed firmly in place as she maintained her offensive, seemingly outright unconcerned with Yumichika's attacks as she ate most of them with her already-damaged arm. Did it hurt? Oh, hell yeah it did, like hell. But she could fix it if she needed to.

Besides, for now she could keep on moving, hirenkyaku once again carrying her forward as blut reinforced her right knee, aiming it squarely for her opponent's midsection with an almost animalistic leap.

"C'mon, fella, don't be rude. Ya gotta lead the lady in any dance, right? If I'm inelegant, it's just 'cause I'm matchin' my partner."

Reida didn't really care one way or the other, but it was all too easy for her to try and needle at his ego.

He brought his sword up to block the knee, reinforcing it with his free hand to take the brunt of her attack and ideally maim the knee with his sword. She was every bit a wild animal, truly at home she'd be in the Eleventh Division he thought but unfortunately that was not the case.Though up close and personal like this he could get a good whiff of her, did he detect a faint trace of hollow in that perfume of her's?

"My my, a quincy with some hollow lingering on her. What a savage. That she would engage with hollows like that. I do hope they were at least arrancar."

Yumichika shot back at his opponent from afar. He might've blocked her knee strike but there was no small amount of force to the blow which made his arm ache and his feet drag across the arena.

"Bloom, Fuji Kujaku."

He would happily keep shifting between his improper shikai and base form throughout the battle if he needed. Maybe if she was really lucky and entertained him enough he'd show her its true form. No way though? He wouldn't give his zanpakuto the limelight that was on him right now.

"Picked up on that, didja? Well, doctors say I'm not normal, but it ain't the end of the world."

Reida was hardly concerned about him noticing her hollow energy. It was unusual, certainly, but she wasn't nearly so self-conscious as to care. If anything, she was glad he'd noticed. It hardly mattered all that much, but she knew it would probably introduce any number of potential variables into the mix that he'd have to account for.

"Litany: Vainglory."

Pulling in a great deal of spiritual energy from the surrounding area, Reida could feel her body tense as it was packed with reishi. She was pretty much a walking bomb now, and realistically, a move like this was suicide for anybody that couldn't do what she did. Hell, she'd only tested it a couple times herself, but she hadn't died from it yet. Besides, she'd started sparklin' something fierce, and she had to imagine getting all that attention would really grind her opponent's gears. She stepped toward him yet again with Hirenkyaku, fully intent on being hit this time as she swung her fist toward that ladyboy face of his. Regardless of which of them actually made impact, energy was gonna explode out of her like a bomb as soon as they struck.

"A bomb? Really?"

How uninteresting, just who did this woman think she was? Unfortunately for her he had the answer to a stupid trick like this and while he was deign to use it in this fight she really gave him the most suitable situation to use it. What a stupid woman, honestly.

"Well, I suppose I should play my hand. I can only maintain it for a moment so look closely. Split and deviate...."

His shikai glowed a faint blue, the blades changing from their strange form to become glowing blue vines that stretched out before him. He had no interest in using it for long of course, Yumichika's only interest right now was diffusing this annoying situation that she'd put him into and he had every hope that she would not try this foolish stunt of her's again.

"Ruri'iro Kujaku."

They struck out towards her, eager to ensare his oncoming attacker and drain out the energy that she'd infused herself with just enough to where it was before she'd used this spell of her's. He could surely have drained her empty but that would be unsatisfying.

While Reida had certainly been moving quickly, she hadn't been anticipating a different release. That wasn't normal, was it? Well, it was something to keep in mind for her reports when all this was over. Sure, this was supposed to be a diplomatic thing, but that didn't mean she was gonna avoid filling out her personal notes.

She could get closer, certainly, but her plan hadn't accounted for this, and in the end Reida was still a bit further away than she'd have liked. But, hey, they'd already been plenty close, and that was just fine for her. Did this fruitcup think she was plannin' on some little explosion or something?

"Sorry, bud, my eye was closed."

Grinning before biting down on her tongue, Reida's energy still exploded outward, directed broadly down and forward. Sure, it blew off her entire lower jaw, but it was still aimed at both the zanpakuto and the shinigami holding it, so most of her head was still intact. She could fix something like this, and she shifted herself into Join, Or Die to start doing that, her previous minor injuries already starting to cover themselves. The jaw, though, would take a little more time.

So she would send him flying? Well that was fine. Yumichika was more than fine to be thrown away but one thing that was inexcusible was the fact that Reida had messed up his hair. Oh dear was there a feather missing from his hair? Now she had really done it. He could accept a loss but since she felt so inclined to damage his look it was gloves off so to speak.

"Well, how fittingly crude of you. You've gone and ruined my hair."

The vines receeded and returned to the shape of Fuji Kujaku. Yumichika had no intention of using it more than just brief moments. It gave her less time to analyse it and it reinforced his last statement. I can only maintain it for a moment.

"Bakudō #61. Rikujōkōrō."

From six sides the rays of light would form and aim to painfully strike Reida's midsection from various sides. Hold her still and paralyse her body but if she thought he would just let the woman who had ruined his hair escape these bindings then she'd be wrong.

"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six."

Speaking the incantation after the spell the spell would become tighter and more difficult to resist with each sentence until it was at full power.

Now this was bad. Reida didn't quite have a fully formed mouth yet to properly throw out a spell name, so anything she did was going to be weaker. Well, she was already squarely on defense now, so she shifted her blut from arterie to vene. But that didn't solve much in the way of her situation, and so she could do little more than raise an insignificant barrier.

Damn. This was bad.

But if nothing else, Reida sure wasn't going to show that. She kept up her cocky grin even now, maintaining her blut despite the fact that she was pretty much in the worst possible situation here. Oughta at least keep giving him a problem, eh? And her wounds were already making great time healing.

"I wonder, even if you heal do you still think that you'll be able to escape from that binding?"

He mused to himself as he closed the distance with a shunpo to slash across her midsection with Fuji Kujaku and leave a messy wound of five different cuts. He had discerned that she was healing so if he kept on injuring her then in theory he could exhaust her stamina, right? The more wounds she had to deal with healing also meant that it would have to heal more places at the same time further slowing the process down.

The glowing veins proved to be annoying though. She was somehow augmenting her defence to make it more difficult to hurt her so that meant he needed to try harder to actually inflict those wounds. How troublesome these quincy proved to be but Yumichika was taking good mental notes of what he could expect from them in any future conflicts.

"Yeah, I think I might."

Reida could probably have lasted a while longer in here if she wanted to, keeping up her blut and healing through the injuries, but this wasn't just a test of endurance. This was a fight, and Reida didn't have any plan to lose it. Taking a sharp breath inward to prepare herself for the strain of her next move, she gritted her teeth and released Tecumseh.

As she did so, her hair shifted to a bleached white, and her single eye changed to a dull yellow. At the same time, her ability to draw in reishi skyrocketed, and the burn of her own soul being cannibalized was sharp in her chest. She probably wouldn't need long, though. Drawing in the kido that bound her, she quickly reinforced her whole body with Blut Arterie once more, at the same time whipping herself around with a wide, malicious grin as her hand pointed directly toward Yumichika.

"Catechism: Agony and Bloody Sweat!"

Reishi tore itself out of the air around them, and even out of Reida's own body, before forming into a large line of spikes that surrounded her hand in a ring. Each one then shot toward Yumichika with extreme speed, fully intent on simply pinning him to the floor by impalement. She didn't have long, so she'd have to make this count. She wasn't aiming to kill, of course. That'd be against the rules.

"Quincy: Letzt Stil?"

He inquired while stepping back as her release form was released. While slashes were good, he did not want to be too hasty about this woman's new release form. She was eating his kido, the reishi of the environment. Well this was unfortunate was it? He had no interest of giving away too much about him either. As far as those quincy needed to know his true shikai was just a one-off technique and not just its natural state of being. Perhaps some might even thing it was his splendid bankai, huh?

Wouldn't that be an absolute laugh, so he had resigned to the loss. Now he need only make it look as dazzling as he was. Nothing more shall be given to his opponents in a friendly spar.

Yumichika slashed at the oncoming spikes but to no avail, the majority might be dodged with shunpo and deflecting with his sword but a couple of stray ones where enough to impale his body and his blood sprayed in a vibrant red splatter around him.

"Oh, dear. You've got me in a real pinch right here you dreary hag."
