Ryushin Chaozu

Things were certainly taking a turn for the better. Kaida was still new to everything but she was getting used to Ryushin really quickly. in fact, Ryushin was feeling pretty stupid for even suggesting that she got on his back since they didn't even know each other that well. This was her first day after all. Then again, he had heard of a quote before. It takes only a second to realise you can trust someone. Maybe Kaida has already accepted Ryushin as her captain, her tutor, her guide. Ryushin's smile never faded as he reacted to Kaida's words.

"Well being small has it's advantages. I can reach the top shelf with ease but you could reach the bottom. I'm not much of a fan of getting on my knee's to just open the bottom drawer."

The captain then turned his back to kaida as she told him that she needed help to get up onto his shoulders. it was hard to do and all she had to remember was to hold on tight. He was sure she could manage it. Ryushin bend down onto one knee and held his hands behind himself so she could step on them and use it to help get onto him. If she did so, he'd follow up with a few more words.

[color=purple"Make sure you hold on tight however you feel most comfortable. Grip round my neck, just one shoulder etc Your choice really I guess."[/color]

When Kaida was ready, hopefully by letting him know, Ryushin would slowly raise himself with her on his back, hoping she is capable of holding on. Maybe something like this would become frequent to him. It's sort of weird but relaxing knowing you have a friend literally hanging off your shoulder whenever you need them.

"Let me know when your ready to move on Kaida"

that he seemed to be really relaxed but the fact deep down within his heart she knew he cared deeply for everyone and everything. Kaida Admired her captain, because he didn't show that he was weak no matter what situation he was in.

"Well, it also comes good into situation if a guy tries to corner me. you can punch their face and i can go and make sure they are -privately- destroyed~"

Kaida shyly giggled looking down at the ground. She seemed sweet and innocent but in reality if she needed to be she can be very deadly. It is an almost frightening thing to know someone that tiny and petite could think of a painful way in which to attack someone. Kaida watched her captain as he began to bow on one knee to allow her to climb up on to his back and then shoulder. Her face flashed a bright pink seeing someone so high up in ranks offered to help her and literally climb on top of them. Placing her tiny feet clothed in her socks onto the captain's hand then hoisted herself up, grabbing on the captain shihakshou then onto the shoulder. It was surprisingly comfy, her arms were hung over his shoulder and her body dangling behind him, there was enough room for her to lean on simply because she was that small.

"W-Wow... Everything seems taller now then it did on my own feet"

She timidly replied as the captain decided to get up off of his knee, she yelped giggling down at the floor noticing it was getting further and further away.

"Wo-... It's So tall!"

She looked around like a child at the beach placing her hand over her forehead and looking around. Giggling looking around she nodded at Ryushin

"Aye aye Captain-Senpai!"

Kaida's eyes widen as she remembered what she had just said, burrowing her face into the captains shoulders bashfully

Ryushins face turned to an expression of worry as Kaida explained her plan to knock somebody out. He could attack high and she could hit them in the crotch? Well, that certainly is something they could do but Kaida just showed Ryushin that she wasn't just a little child inside. She was quite the fighter as well. In fact, Ryushin was curious to see just how effective she might be.

"You know Kaida, that sort of fighting isn't exactly honourable or clean. Then again, do what you need to do if it means you win right?"

Ryushin didn't exactly follow this as he didn't always expect winning to be the best choice to make. Sometimes defeat will help you save an ally. You must choose your fights wisely and react well. Otherwise you will regret your every decision.

"Also I do wish to test your skills in combat later on if you'd let me. I'm curoous to hear of any more sneaky tactics you might have and see if you could put anything to use. Even though we are all classed as medics, it is nice to know that my family can fend for themselves if I am not around."

Ryushin then prepared himself to carry Kaida around the building. She had climbed onto him fine and clung on with ease. It was quite adorable to be honest seeing such a small chipmunk of a girl cling to the shoulder of a much taller man. Her reactions to everything were cute as well. It was as though she'd never been this high before and was experiencing this for the first time. Ryushin smiled and just listened to what she was saying. He was glad he could show her the world from his viewpoint. A 6'4 view to be precise.

"Lets move on then. I believe the main hall is just through here."

Ryushin took a few steps across the waxed floor, managing to keep himself steady by leaning in the opposite side to Kaida. She wasn't light as a feather but she was light enough to carry around without too much issue. They made it down a hallway and up to a door where Ryushin pushed it open with his left arm and closed it behind him after making sure they could both fit through the doorway. They were now standing in a pretty big room full of tables, chairs, and many buffet sections where people could fill the bowls with food that anyone could take.

"Here is where everyone tends to come if I want to talk to the entire division. it's easier here because people can eat, drink, socialise and I can still get the message across. You'll probably not see too much of this place unless something happens."

The windows on the walls were all letting in beams of orange light from the setting sun, signalling that the day was soon to come to an end. the night was almost ready to rise. Ryushin wandered around the hall for a moment, taking a peek out of a window at people walking past to get home before nightfall.

"Is there anything you wanted to ask about in here? Or see?"

Kaida looked to the side seeing her captains face glow with worry but she smiled innocently never the less. When the captain talked to her about the sort of fighting that she was talking about being honorless she nodded and smiled. Kaida knew what it was like and she hated the fact of fighting in that sort of mannar, but that would be what she would do if someone was to trap her and it was a only option to get some distance to fight properly.

" I wouldn't do that in a true fight, it's not a natural thing to do, if you fight it must be with pride. I take pride in fighting for something i wish to protect. Though i want to save everyone i also wish to protect them. Winning and losing means nothing, if you manage to protect but lose the fight you've won either way~"

Kaida had a more deeper meaningful tone than her natural adorable self, her voice didn't show shyness or timidness but actually pride and power in what she felt and said. She smiled looking at the captain as he asked to wanting to see her abilities. Kaida looked shy of that, she thought of her powers she had never used at all even with the use of her Shikai. Kaida had learned her Shikai not long before completing her examination. Her Zampakutou come to think of it, It had never came out of it's sheath the time that she had it. Though she didn't really trust her abilities in her zanjutsu she thought the training with the captain could help her achieve the abilities she would need in order to protect more people than just a squad.

"W-Well, i wouldn't mind showing if i was able to train on them. I would train all day and night if i trusted my abilities!. I'd make sure to train past natural boundaries!"

Kaida started spouting words really fast as if wanting to train badly but lacked the knowledge in how to train her abilities beside her kidou. She continued to speak about training while leaning on Ryushin while walking towards the main hall of the squad barracks to where everyone would sit during squad meetings and calls. It was big and spacious, avoiding anymore nasty trips from the floor by the squad themselves. Considering what they did could that have triggered the almost instant companionship between the two of them because of the squad? It was certainly on her mind but she took no knowledge of it and stared at the seats, tables and the buffet selection. It seemed this squad had everything they could never need and was always comfortable in everything they do so they can enjoy each time. Kaida smiled, she couldn't wait to properly be apart of the squad and do everything that they do.

"Wow~ IT's sooooooo nice in here, a place for people to enjoy and relax while getting told information of duty"

Kaida watched the shinigami of the squad on their way back to where they would stay the night, seeing them just relaxed, more than the rest of the divisions within the soul society. Ryushin asked her if there was anything that she had in her head that she wanted to know or say. She did but she felt silly for asking, because of course he was a captain and he might be busy doing more things than actually looking after a minor member of the squad that he had only just met properly for the first time without headbutting his legs. Kaida built up the courage in the end and forced what she wanted to say, with a little timid tone

"Other than knowing where the sleep. I wish to be like you.. Able to stand up tall but be nonchalant about everything. You radiate the strength that could protect the squad. I wish to have the courage you do..."

Kaida shy's away placing her head on his shoulder hiding her nose and mouth to the captain shihakshou that he was wearing

"Sorry for asking such a stupid thing to a captain"

Kaida giggled bringing back up morale and shyly blushed

"I-I'm ready to leave when you are~"

Ryushin Chaozu

The little girl on Ryushins shoulder began to explain how her choice to tackle a situation by punching them in the crotch wasn't exactly her normal plan and more of a counter measure. She then went on to explain her opinion on the case. Ryushin smiled as she spoke. She was pretty serious as she said it and it made him happy to know that she was capable of such thoughts. her style wasn't going to mimic a fight in the playground, but would be enough to battle on par with the great. With a mind set like that, be it victory or defeat, so long as you did what you deemed was the correct thing to do, you cannot lose. Ryushin didn't say this out loud however as he didn't think it was necessary. Kaida knew she was right and nothing needed else needed to be said. WHat he would repsond to however was the request to test her ability.

"I don't need to see anything just yet. We can wait until another day when you are ready for it. If you want to train then you'd need look no further to find the right guy to do it. I'll happily lend a hand. Plus, my abilities are only so great. Iv'e had to get even the Captain Commander Tsubasa to help me out. He's a good man, if not a bit frightening."

Kaida was then quite distracted by the size of the dining hall they were wandering around. True, the place was quite big but to her it must have looked colossal. From Ryushins shoulder she would have probably felt like she was floating through the room like a little goldfish in the ocean. Then again, it was down to her interpretation, not Ryu's. However he'd like to think that's how she felt.

"Yeah, the room can see frequent use when people throw parties or something. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if somebody threw another since we've been getting so many new recruits in. I'm sure people would like to honour your arrival. I'm not the party type however so I'd prefer to stay in my office. Although the guys and girls do try to drag me away for a drink or two. Can't say I like it though. Alcohol, sake or whatever just never settles well with me. Coming from the Gotei's top doctor, it's no wonder I feel that way."

Ryushin chuckled once more. Something he seemed to always do. Such a chirpy man that didn't know when to stop laughing. What Kaida then followed up with was quite timid and a little uncertain as though she felt embarrassed by it. She wanted to be like Ryushin? Radiated strength? Protect the squad?

"You honestly believe I'm like that eh? Well you wouldn't be too wrong but I can't really say I'm 'that' great. Wouldn't you say things like this are just human nature? The need to protect? You wouldn't need to be more like me to do something like that. In fact, I would rather you didn't become like me at all. I want my squad to follow their own beliefs that they truly think is right and not to just admire mine. If that is what you believe in though, like you say, then prove it to yourself so it doesn't look like you're just following footsteps that you'll eventually lose sight of."

Ryushin seemed somewhat stern here as though he wanted to get across what he was saying to Kaida without fail. She could believe him, but he wouldn't feel complete if she didn't have reason to believe in it herself.

"I'm alright with any question you want to ask me Kaida. Honestly I'm here to help you settle down. Now, lets move on to the next part of the building."

Ryushin stepped through another doorway of two doors. This lead outside into a courtyard area with grass, a stone path, a tiny pond all surrounded by buildings. Ryushin liked this little courtyard as he could come outside and lay in the grass to watch the fish or even his squad go about their business. It was truly the most beautiful part of the barracks.

"Here is the courtyard. Probably my favourite place here. What do you think? It's dark, but the torches are lit."

The orange glow of the torches was keeping the path through the little green area clear in case somebody could not see where the paving stones had been laid. The glow sparkled in the still water as a little fish poked its head out of the water for a moment as Ryushin walked over. It truly was a wondrous place to be as the world settled down for the night. Even the flowers were getting ready to sleep.

Kaida looked over at Ryushin as he began to acknowledge what she had said about battling to which she saw him smile slightly. It made her smile knowing that she had a positive attitude and effect on people. Kaida listened to what she had to do, knowing that her captain would lend a hand in order to help her become better within herself but ask someone who she could communicate with to achieve such level and beyond, she didn't know anyone. All she knew was Ryushin at the time so asking some random person from nowhere would be out of the question.

"O-Okay, thank you~"

As she looked within the hall, she listened to Ryushin talk about honoring her's and any other new recruit that would crop up soon within the new squad, Kaida shook her head to decline if anyone was to offer doing such a thing. It was not of her nature to be the center of attention, though she would like to protect all and help in what she can. It is never in her mind to do something for the sheer face of beng noticed, she was just happy tht she could help in anyway that she could. She listened to her captains quote and comment on wanting to be like him in the sense of power and the courage to protect. While listening he seemed to go off in the direction most would think when someone says that but kaida smiled and shook her head again in disagreement.

"N-No, not in that sort of way. My goals are to do what i can do in anyway shape or form, from chores, to fighting and protecting. As instinct is involved, yes everyone has instinct but the will to use it naturally is not basic. I do not wish to become a shadow or replica of someone. But to carry on someones will and spread across to encourage others to gain insight of their own ways to help with their own abilities and beliefs. If you follow someone you eventually lose sight and become lost, i wish to see your steps so i can decide which is a better way for me that's my own way."

Kaida did have a intelligent and philosophical side to her timid being as she became serious for that moment until they started moving. They made their way into the courtyard that was incredibly beautiful to her standards, the luscious green grass next to the pond of crystal blue water with the timid animals within. The garden could be almost as good as the Kuchiki family garden. Though a far cry from the royals, it was still a great thing to achieve. Staring down at the water while Ryushin had bent down for the moment she saw her reflection and smiled happily poking her tongue out in embarrassment.

"It's so beautiful here, i wonder how many people are actually aware of something like this."

Kaida glared down happily she felt belonging to something, someone. It was as best she could possibly imagine, the next day would be the start of showing people what she could actually do to help out the squad make their achievements and life a whole lot easier.

"So..... Why did you want to be a captain, Captain-Senpai?"

Ryushin Chaozu

It would soon be night here in soul society as darkness crept upon the land. The sun had almost all but faded and the moon was rising to take its rightful place in the sky. Give it five more minutes the the world would be plummeted into night. Ryushin stood in the courtyard with Kaida on his shoulder as they both watched the ripples of the pond water and admired the sheer tranquillity of the place. It really was relaxing and calm here. A perfect place to rest ones weary head.

Ryushin had no real repsonses to anything Kaida was saying as he only nodded in agreement with her words. She could figure things out herself and carve her own path. She would benefit from following Ryushin but she would eventually need to make her own decisions to impact the future. He did however say one thing.

"You know, considering your childlike physique and voice, I wouldn't have expected such smart words to come from you. I hope you don't get me wrong when i say that. I just mean that you are surprising me as I didn't know you would be this mature. Although I never really looked at age or any personal information on the signing sheets the other day."

Trying not to be too offensive, Ryushin let that comment slip out and carried on with the tour. He began to walk around the perimeter of the courtyard whilst looking at several doors they could possibly go through to other areas. Did he want to go through to the bedrooms now or did he want to go to the training hall? Maybe even the infirmary? He began to move towards the infirmary ward as this would be a smarter choice. She'll need to know where this was in case anybody became injured. Here he might be able to teach Kaida something already. However she asked another question as they moved along.

"Why i became a captain...hm. Well my skills with my sword were above average at the time and my ability to command reitsu and kido was pretty decent. The gotei liked my ability to heal and my resolve to protect tat when i put forward my notice to try for Captain, they jumped on it. There was hardly anyone contesting the position either. Why I did it though I guess was because I knew I could use it to further complete my goals. My division has quickly become my family, and now that I have the title and power, I believe I could do anything to save them. Would you see yourself being a captain someday Kaida?"

Kaida stared down at the water for the meantime as she spoke, it was as if it was calling a memory from her mind but she was trying to find the reason for this as it didn't click in her mind straight away. Looking deeply into the water as if she had disappeared into her own mental thoughts, she thought she could see a pair of glowing kitsune eyes glaring back at her as the moon was soon to rise and cover parts of the small pond. That was the moment the thought of a familiar came to fruition, it was actually a similar view staring down from the cylinder pillar's within her inner mind into the reverse mirror. Kaida smiled happily as if remembering her hearts feeling and calling.

"Kitsunetsuki"

a quite timid word escaped her mind before returning to her conscious state. Shaking her head shyly as her cheeks flared smiling at Ryushin as he spoke. She wasn't offended by his words, she was actually happy that he never noticed her age or appearance within her approval sheets. Kaida stared up at the moon.

"It's hypnotizing, the lunar light can create illusions. Those illusions usually manifest into a kitsune shaped figure to follow the nights call... S-Sorry. It was a quote that someone told me and i only just remembered it~"

Kaida giggled nervously for saying something out loud without realizing. It was strange she had never thought of saying such a thing so abruptly but she did. She laid over his shoulder as he then got up off of the floor and made his way towards one of the many doors within their way. Listening to Ryushin's reason for becoming a captain showed meaning for what he really wanted to do and how he feels in his heart radiates from his position, it suited. She was asked could she see herself becoming a captain rank. she thought a little bit, her cheeks flaring as if thinking too much

"W-Well... I don't think i'd have the ability too, i'm not strong enough to face a captain or anything a captain could throw. I don't see myself as a leader, i see myself more as someone who helps and protects, that's all i can see~"

An Evening with the Captain [Private] - Page 2 Hjt5Lid

Ryushin Chaozu

There was something about Kaida at the moment that irked Ryushin a little. Her tone and sudden distractions made him question what she was thinking. He surely noticed that she began mentioning things completely unrelated to their conversation. The pond water and the moon were captivating her as though she was some sort of lycanthrope. Maybe Kaida had been keeping some things a secret from Ryushin. He wouldn't delve into it however. It is her private affairs and he need not take part in it unless she wanted him to, so Ryushin ignored it.

"Mmm, the moon is quite a nice isn't it? Especially when it is as bright as it is tonight."

Ryushin then decided it was time to go through the door he had approached. He moved forwards and held his arm out to push the door open. The sign beside the door simply said 'Infirmary' which was where everyone was taken all around the Sereitei if they had been injured or are fatally ill. It was here that the 4th Division worked their magic. Ryushin walked into a hallway, closing the door behind the two before walking forwards past several open doorways. Inside were several rooms with multiple beds, some even with people in them that had been recently taken in from battle. There was one man who was moving about, sitting at the end of his bed with a lot of bandages around his chest. Most of the rooms with patients in were silent. Some already asleep. Ryushin then stopped at a two-door doorway that was also propped open. Inside were many beds as you would expect but much more technical equipment. machines lined the walls beside beds. The few people that were here were all completely unconscious and wired up to the machines.

"You see Kaida, sometimes our abilities just wont be enough to completely restore someone to full health. We need to give them time to rest and regain their power. The unlucky few here however were so beaten that it is a miracle they are still alive. I could sit by them day in, day out and use my kido to heal them but it isn't that sort of wound. These people need to replenish their own reitsu over time and there is nothing more we can do but help speed up the process with the technology we have here. Someday Kaida, I will teach you exactly how to use this but right now I am keeping these tools only to those with permission to use them."

Ryushin didn't want to move on just yet in case Kaida had anything she wanted to say. The infirmary was certainly an interested yet eye-opening place. people were injured. Some very sick. The moans coming from a room down the hall could give you nightmares. it was just like any other hospital ward. However at least here the Division could guarantee your safety and preserve you life. Then, they begin to repair you.

An Evening with the Captain [Private] - Page 2 Empty Re: An Evening with the Captain [Private]

Kaida did speak out more philosophical senses while being distracted, subconsciously spoken out without her realizing until the last sentence is spoken. It was a rare occurrence but it did happen. Her Zampakutou's spirit name is also named as Kitsunetsuki a goddess of the night and affiliated with foxes and have said the foxes to posses people for a temporary amount of time. Either-way it was not something Kaida would usually say but it did have some sort of sense in it's madness. Kaida smiled looking over at the infirmary as they eventually made their way there lots of shinigami's in the infirmary and some that were already asleep. Kaida searched and scowered over all of them to see how bad their injuries were, but she wouldn't know as they've already been treated. Kaida watched as they went into the room that had much more advanced technology as if stepping into the laboratory of squad 12. It was high tech and attached to some of the patients that were unconscious of what was going on or where they were. Kaida felt sorry and pity for them and wondered what had happened to them beside being in a fight

"H-How did they get wounded, from the fight with hollows or.."

Kaida didn't want to think of who could have made them this dangerously injured if it wasn't a shinigami. The thought someone could be so cold to other spirits is something that she couldn't stand, she had enough of that type of abuse when she was alive she didn't want to see it now she's in the soul society.

"I've had pain in my living life.. I remember it, i don't want others to suffer or face the same pain i did. T-This is why i wanted to be a Shinigami to improve my kidou and healing abilities.. To help in preserving peoples innocence and their hope, no-one should suffer a fate of death"

Kaida started to shake, staring down at the ground her blue eyes looked at everyone, upset and angry with the fact of harsh people can exist in a world like this. She didn't cry, it wasn't her nature to cry. She was extremely upset with the imaging of her last moments alive entailed. Something no one should have gone through, but she did. She would do it again, but only to save someone else for suffering it.
