» Purpose: Shin’o needs some instructors and NPCs on standby for plot points and roleplay.



» Personality: Kanikami is an interesting character as far as teachers go. She doesn’t particularly care about her job or the work that she does, though when she does teach her students she has shown to be surprisingly good at it. Having a sort of natural affinity to not only explain but go in incredible depth with a complicated and esoteric subject such as Zanjutsu. In front of her superiors, she purposely makes her capabilities seem worse so as to avoid being asked to join the Gotei, though around her students she tends to flourish and flaunt her prowess. The only real reason she still is a teacher is that almost all of her former students vouch for her and she has good results.

Born as the heir of the warrior clan Bokosuka, Kanikami has always had big shoes to fill. That being said, it was a given that she would ultimately join the Gotei so to get it out of the way it happened earlier on in her life. Ever since she was in the academy she’s had a strong aptitude towards Zanjutsu and general martial arts but was notably lacking in other areas. Showing promise out of the gate, she was assigned to the combat division for a few decades before deciding to give teaching a try. The boring monotony of the day-to-day as a Shinigami took its toll on her.

It should be known that Kanikami has yet to see any actual combat despite her skills.



» Zanjutsu Practitioner: Over the years, Kanikami has become incredibly skilled in the art of Zanjutsu, both the act of speaking to a zanpakuto spirit and the martial arts. In fact, she's among the highest-ranked shinigami and with her ability to use her bankai, technically qualifies for a captain position if she so desired. But she doesn't, nor does she have any plans to further her current ability either, completely fine with just teaching for the rest of her life if that's how it ends up.

» Zangaku: Bladepoint. Requires Advanced in Zanjutsu, Adept in Hoho and Kido. Kanikami's signature move combines the finesse of swordplay, the speed and unpredictability of Hoho, along with the raw power of Kido.

The user rapidly dashes around their opponent and combines kido with their zanpakuto over the span of 3 posts. The next attack the user does comes with an incredibly strong explosion, equivalent to the highest level of Kido for the user's Kido skill. Normally, it is intended for the user to lunge out of their hoho, using the momentum to pierce any armor or defense the target puts up to get with the blast. The biggest weakness of this attack is both tunnel vision and that if the attack misses, it leaves the user open for attacks for a while as the momentum that is carried with them it could even overshoot them past their target.

In theory, one could just forgo the hoho portion, but the blowback of the explosion becomes a large threat.

» Shikai: In its shikai form, Aoteru Toku turns into a three-pronged trident measuring at 5 feet in length from the tip of the spear to the end of the shaft.

Its special ability is that all attacks are mirrored on a target, turning one strike into two. For example, if the target was to be slashed on their right arm, that same slash would appear on the same spot but on the opposite arm. If any attacks from shikai are healed, whether it be the original or the duplicate, both wounds are healed simultaneously.

» Bankai: Aoteru Tokunami. The bankai isn't really a form as much as it is a final move. Pulling her arm back, Kanikami takes aim at a target and prepares to throw the trident. Once she is able to, it begins to fly at speeds comparable to a Master in General Speed, with large waves following behind it. These waves have been shown to go higher than the walls of the Sereitei but are only roughly 100 yards in width.

It's mainly a "fuck everyone in that general direction" attack.
