Reach Heaven By Violence!

A Kuei, they called it here. A man who had lost control of his life and become wholly and utterly consumed with his goals. No longer did morality come into it, any action was allowed in the pursuit of what you desired. It was deeply unfortunate because they were still people. In any situation that they weren't pursuing their goals, they were still your average joe. Still your friend, your lover, your sibling...Which was why you did not! hunt down a Kuei that was related to you, it was considered taboo and far too much of an emotional strain for a person to deal with. Subjugation Squads were there to deal with it for you, and that was what was going on right now.

Lady Ci Lan Tsu had contracted Calypso to go help a subjugation squad take out a Kuei who was running an underground operation. Apparently you could turn people into Elixers, though it was a forbidden art that was looked down upon like no other. Though as she arrived, a beautiful woman in a dress was currently demolishing a dozen men by herself. Calypso recognized her as Xian Naku, the Shameless Deviant of the Naku Clan. Alavazi had no gripe with her despite her actions though, so there must have been more to it than just being a drunkard who would borrow money from her disciples and generally be a...well, a shameless deviant, hence the name. It would be interesting, Calypso thought, to find out exactly what the drive was.

Watching some more, Calypso was gifted insight into Xian's exceptional skill, which gave her the other title 'Prodigy Of The Naku'. Great Clan like Tsu, Naku, and Gandr made superior Cultivators just by existing, so when someone was acknowledged as a prodigy of them, then they were truly the elite of the elite. Eight men were taken out with a swing of her bamboo stick, falling to the "Sweeping The Road" technique. So called because it swept away the opposition and had it's roots in a man who was a road-sweeper, applying what he learned here to the sword with startling results. Three swift sets of "Carp Leaps The Waterfall" dealt with the rest of them, and then she pressed on inside.

Calypso was about to follow - she was contracted to support, after all - but the reinforcements were coming. While Xian was a truly exceptional woman, she'd probably struggle to deal with a high powered Kuei and another dozen thugs lead by a Silver-ranked Cultivator. Degenerates, she thought. They were honestly not worthy of sharing the same space as the righteous. Though, such thoughts would lead one quickly down a path that would see Xian coming to club your head in, so she dropped that and simply took off from her position in a Lightfoot. The arrival was sudden, and the Cultivator incapacitated with a Taiju Snake Palm to the head. Rattling what remained of the fool's brain, he passed out instantly, leaving her to deal with the rest.

Spinning on the spot, Calypso executed the circular Tatsumaki technique. One thug got caught on his neck and the bone went crunch, sending him to the sky instantly. The rest were blown away by the force and gave Calypso time to slide into Bjornskald stance. Violence distilled into form, this was a great style against the uninitiated. As they recovered and looked at her however, they just gave a glance to each other and scattered into the side-streets. An intelligent decision given what she had done, but a boring one for Calypso. She was hoping to get off some real work. Shaking her head and turning to the door, she barely managed to Lightfoot out of the way, her nose crunched into a pulp by one of the many bricks.

Snapping her bone back into place and wiping off the blood, she noted Xian standing back up and facing some nine foot hulking mass of sheer muscle and rage.
"What the fuck is that?" Calypso exclaimed, shaking off the blow from the brick and activating her Blood.
"It's a Troll. Seems this little Kuei has a lot of money and influence" Xian replied, throwing away the broken bamboo sword and drawing something truly spectacular from her Dantian. "You are the support, yes? Can I trust you to deal with it?" Xian asked, and then taking off before getting a reply, leaving Calypso to deal with this bugger by herself.

The creature in front of her was a mass of thick muscle. His nerves - if he had any - would be deep beneath that, so Taiju was of little use with her current strength. Kicking up and spinning as the troll charged, she used Armour-Crushing Fist to kick his head in, though it was such a thick head he barely felt it. Rushing in behind him, she'd lash a second kick to his knee joint. She got a little further with that, through the creature swung back around and grazed her head as she dodged backwards. Even a graze was enough to split the skin and start bleeding, as well as sending her head into a spin. Flipping back a few steps, the Troll would rush at her, and Calypso got the dumb idea of mixing Blade-Deflecting Body with a Jin Hwechook. She wasn't great at Ssamsu, but knew enough to do some stuff.

The sheer force of the Troll coupled with the power of Calypso's kick stopped the thing in it's tracks and crushed it's chest in. Not that the thing really bothered, and just roared blood and fury. Unfortunately, the force also gave Calypso a compound fracture, and she did an unwieldy one-legged Lightfoot to the nearby rooftop to get out of swinging range. Crashing heavily into the rooftop, she hissed in agony and tried to lower her heart-rate through targeted breathing. It was hard, given the bone was sticking out of her damn leg, but it was not something she could just not do.

The building Calypso was on shuddered as the Troll smashed itself into the ground floor in an attempt to bring his foe down to where he could maul her again. The fight was practically over with her leg like this, blood pissing out, muscle hanging off and the bone snapped crudely. This would take days to fix with Ci's oversight. Fuck..how was she even going to get off this rooftop?
'Allow me' came Hvit's voice, as power surged through her body. It radically overcame the pain in her leg, feeling like every nerve was sliced apart and set on fire. The most unnatural feeling however, was her leg quivering and then crunching, pushing itself back in and healing itself.

Calypso threw up, both real and spiritual energy that came from Hvit's existance. Her body was shuddering, she was covered with sweat, and could barely breathe. This was not a trick that could be done in a fight, it seemed, but damn did it work. Taking a ragged breath in, she looked at her leg without believing what she was seeing.
"What the fuck?" she gasped, flexing her leg a bit and feeling it work perfectly.
'It's one of the many tricks I have dear. You'll learn more when we are properly synced' Hvit replied, encouraging Calypso to stand up and regain her breathing as the building was groaning from the loss of load-bearing columns. 'Now, let's get that bastard'

Landing on the ground floor and regaining her focus, Calypso would pant some and then fully return to battle breathing. That minute and a half of recovery was not something any fight would give you, except a fight with a big ugly monster like thing one. And on the topic of big ugly monsters, what the fuck was she doing? The thing was too powerful to hit from the front without doing severe damage to herself, and if it caught her once she'd be donezo.
'Taiju Snake Palm to the spine. It's overstrained from the muscular hypertrophy and with the chest damage you did earlier, it can be broken easily for someone of your strength. Just got to get there' Hvit put in.

Get to the spine, strike, kill the fucker. It was always good to have a plan. Watching the beast run at her, Calypso would exhale and then run at it herself, sliding under the giant creature's legs and then radically raising up in an unorthodox Dongbaek. She missed the spine proper and just kicked it heavily in it's back though, the great blow sending it lurching into the ground with a smash. She used that moment to recover and back up. Opportunity maybe, but taking risks against such a superior opponent when she was running dry on energy was a great way to die. Couldn't rely on Hvit either, Calypso was too weak to survive a second touch from her Queen. All in all, she was fucked...

Well, time for insanity. The Troll got back up and swung for Calypso, who ducked cleanly under it and lashed a kick to the underside of his arm. Did little through all the steel-like muscle, but made her feel better. Then, a thought occured. It was big, and heavy, and strong. So much so that it's spine was overstrained. If she couldn't hit the spine properly, maybe she could hit it indirectly...flipping back to the building behind them, she span and caught one of the bricks, launching it at the beast's knee. it staggered the monster, which was just enough for Calypso to pull off her mean feat. Launching forward, she jumped onto the things shoulders and then with all the Meln she had left in her, kicked off with an almighty Lightfoot.

The crunch of bone and tearing of muscle was a loud report, and Calypso could see the Troll literally falling apart underneath her. The only problem now was that she was seventy foot in the air with no power left to cushion her fall or redirect herself. Not so much of a problem though, as Xian came out of the building. Bloodied and looking flushed, she noticed the crushed Troll and Calypso in the air, and gave a loud clap.

"Creative kill!" Xian exclaimed, Lotus Stepping up to Calypso, cancelling her momentum and landing like a leaf on the surface of a lake. "Now then, let's go get paid, yea?"
