Funny how things would inevitably change, like winter giving way to spring. Magnolia’s eyes shifted to take in the empty room before leaning against the sill, her lips quirking faintly at their corners.

Their relationship had been one of necessity after all, for her tenure Magnolia had been the bedrock of strength that she had thankfully never had to use. She had been fine with that purpose, and had no illusions towards that end. Now though that it had finally come to an end, there was a small part of her that found itself without direction, without purpose.

Magnolias fingers curled on that windowsill, the pads of her fingers feeling the roughness of the wood as those thoughts of hers went towards this new era, one that hopefully would have far more peace than the last. She knew that Murasaki would more than be up for the task of guiding the Gotei towards a brilliant future. She even found herself looking forward to it, and yet even with the light on the horizon she could only find the mettle of her will irreversibly dark and stained.

Her eyes glimmered, cold like precious metal. More than ever, she found her resolve towards protecting this ideal stronger than ever. She didn’t need to meddle in the affairs of the Gotei, perhaps it was best if she didn’t. Yet, she also knew that when a new threat arose that she would crush it with every last ounce of her might.

A faint sheen of deep azure misted from the woman’s skin with the faintest crackle of electricity. Her cold and clinical gaze staring past the gotei’s walls into the distance beyond.
