P E R S O N A L I T Y

Personality: As a little girl, she was just the typical carefree girl who refers people by their nicknames dictated by her personally. Her childish nature often displays through her territorial and easy-to-irritate attitude underneath her cute outlook of things. Her favorite snacks consist of sweets and pretty much anything that is edible. May seem most of the time that Yachiru would be close by Captain Zaraki, she also can be seen off to the side during Captain Zaraki’s fights and somewhere else to pull pranks. She was never seen fighting back then because she chose to let Captain Zaraki to fight on his own while she stays and watch while giving few heads-up to keep Captain Zaraki from getting himself injured or worse...being bored.

When she became a young woman at age 250’ish, Yachiru was already trained by Captain Zaraki while having field experiences to top it off. Like always, she is just that carefree girl who plays pranks and visit in many clubs for snacks. She finally let go of her crush for Captain Kuchiki, but she is still fond of him. Due to her cat-like aspects, she is prideful while not vain about the reality of combat. She is now able to fend for herself, but she knows that even still, Captain Zaraki would be furious if she is threatened or injured.

When she is unable to achieve Shikai or Bankai, Yachiru resorts to how Captain Zaraki fights; just raw strength and skills that she honed with her cat-like reflexes and speed. Her spiritual pressure was even as intimidating as her captain and father’s, but for a different reason. She was trained by Captain Zaraki to use her spiritual pressure as her armor and the extension of her combat abilities while she was taught to use Kendo as it was required of her as a Shinigami. Like her fellow members of the Eleventh Division, she holds the unwritten belief that using Kidō is a disgrace to who they are within the barracks; those who excels in physical combat alone. She was rumored to be as strong as Captain Zaraki, but in truth, she will never be like her father as he is someone who no one can copy or emanate easily by living with him. Her resolve for the identity problem? Grow up a bit and still keep her identity as Yachiru Kusajishi, who loves sweets, pranks and fights!

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background: As an infant, she was on her own with no idea of what happened to her parents. It is assumed that she came into the Soul Society that way instead of being born there. The day she met Zaraki was after he killed several men with his Zanpakutō. Being carefree, she ignored the warning given by Zaraki about the sword being dangerous and toys the bloodstained blade and giggled with her hands drenched in blood of the victims. Later on, Yachiru was adopted and named by Zaraki after he saved her life. Ever since then, they are virtually inseparable whenever they travel.

During the time when Rukia was being sentenced to imprisonment before execution and the time when the Ryokas have infiltrated the Seireitei, Yachiru joined Zaraki to hunt down the Ryoka in search for thrills of battle. When they encountered Ichigo who defeated Ikkaku Madarame, At first, she was only surprised when Ganju and Hanataro Yamada ran immediately before her and Zaraki and was not all that impressed with Ichigo, but when Ichigo defeated Kenpachi, she was in denial, claiming that it was two against one, which was not a fair fight. However, she and Zaraki resolved to get stronger after Captain Unohana healed Zaraki. During the chaos, she met Orihime Inoue and with Maki-Maki, brought Orihime to Zaraki, who decided to help her find Ichigo. During the search, they found and freed Chad, Uryu, Hanataro and Ganju from their prison. When they encountered Tosen and Komamura and their respective lieutenants, she was ordered to help Orihime and the others get to Sokyoku Hill. Throughout the battle, she stood out of the battle to wait for Zaraki and the others to arrive.

When the original Espada captured Orihime Inoue and Ichigo and his friends are out to rescue her, Yachiru was with Zaraki with the preparation for a potential assault upon Karakura Town by the Arrancar. Eventually, Zaraki was ordered to enter Hueco Mundo via Garganta made by Kisuke Urahara to help Ichigo and the others dispatch the Espada’s main army as preemptive strike. When she and Zaraki arrived, Ichigo was nearly killed by Tesla, Nnoitra’s Fraccion as Zaraki made the same and Yachiru triple dropkicked Ichigo before jumping back out of the battlefield so Zaraki can fight Nnoitra without her getting in the way. The battle was fierce and entertaining while scary for Yachiru as she was worried that Zaraki will die against the fifth Espada. However, Zaraki defeated Nnoitra and stopped to recover. Before leaving, Yachiru was found by a band of shinigami, but was ignored, so she attacked one of them in a childish effort. After that, she was returned to the Soul Society while Zaraki fights.

Years after the fall of Aizen and the recovery of Ichigo’s powers, Yachiru grown into a young woman and was finally treated to training on fighting from Zaraki while taking tours to Earth as a full-fledged shinigami. During this time, it became scarcer that she was by Zaraki’s side as she was preoccupied with mandatory activities that come with being a Shinigami. However, she still has time to train with her father. Now, she sides with Zaraki once more and like one of the former lieutenants, she began wearing a haori that would normally signify her as a captain, but she still wears the badge of a vice-captain.

Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance : It is a standard katana with pink handle and five-petal flower-shaped hand guard. Due to Yachiru’s inability to communicate with her Zanpakutō like Captain Zaraki cannot communicate with his own Zanpakutō, releases are either out of her reach or very hard to attain at this time.

Sealed Zanpakutô Abilities: Like Captain Zaraki’s Zanpakutō, Yachiru’s Zanpakutō has no other powers other than its natural ability to be as hardy as Yachiru’s soul.

R P S A M P L E

Roleplay Sample: Yachiru looks around as she was in the midst of a random hollow insurgence during a shinigami field examination that she was invited to as one of the watchmen for the safety of the students. Does it make her worry? It is doubtful as she has a fondness for battles as Zaraki was the reason she fights. Gripping tightly around her Zanpakutō’s handle, she cheerfully stood side by side with two upper-classmen of the shino students. Knowing how General Water upgraded the academy, she should be expecting the two to be capable enough to not be in her way. “You two stay back and deal with those who are trying to flank us. I’ll have all the fun this time.” Yachiru orders the upper-classmen before the two ran into position. When against three lesser hollows, Yachiru will have little problems...if there is any that would set her off as wrong other than a trivial encounter.

She runs towards the three hollows before her and leaps to perform a chop to the middle and follows it with a spin. The first strike cuts deep into the bone mask of the middle lesser hollow, causing an explosive decompression from having all the spiritual power locked in its mask. In short, the middle lesser hollow is doomed to the Void as it dies. The spin cleaves through the other two, spilling blood into a messy semi-circle in front of her. “Not much of a fight. I should have sent Maki-Maki to deal with that. Maybe Baldy would agree with this.” Yachiru comments about her uneventful victory and walks away, leaving the two hollows to fade away into the Void with their friend. She whips her Zanpakutō to get the blood off and sheaths it.

With her observation upon the students, the students are roughened up a bit by the battle and two shino upper-class students are panting with blood on their uniform. She smiles and approaches the students with her short speech of encouragement, “Congratulations! You live!” The students look at Yachiru like what she gave them was less than compensating for their hardship. “Don’t give me that look.” Yachiru snared at the students with a pink aura appearing around her. The students turn pale and apologize almost immediately. After the students are returned, Yachiru returns to her captain and father, Ken-Chan and watch him fight Icchi again or at least watch Ken-Chan chasing Icchi around the Seireitei like Tom and Jerry in the cartoons she learned from Boobies (Rangiku.)

RP SAMPLE

Yun-Yun, Ken-chan, and Baldy, they all stand by her side as she faces a small force of demonic renegades who thought they can take on the Soul Society. Stupid demons are always stupid for their pride exceeds their capabilities. Earlier, Yachiru was just enjoying her array of candy that she obtained from various places. Even Kenny does not care where they came from as fighting is all he cares about. Yachiru likes the fights as well. In the past, she usually sits by and watch Kenny beat down the enemies with a grin on his face. The only time she was worried is when he was fighting an Espada four centuries ago. Kenny was heavily wounded when Yachiru gets concerned. Then the foolish Arrancar threatens to harm her, which bothers Kenny. Despite his injuries, Kenpachi reluctantly slain the Espada with one mighty swing of Kendo. Funny, Kendo and Kenny does rhyme!

Back to the present, there are demons who could be as strong as they are, but that does not deter Yachiru one bit, it instead makes her grin like Kenny does and so does Baldy! Yun-Yun was just mocking their appearance, which is just him anyway. The moment of fun begins with Kenny and Baldy shooting out into the enemies with Yachiru not far behind. For one unwritten rule, "Never get in the way of a member of the eleventh division," because most of the time, even Yachiru and Baldy cannot tell the difference between friend and foe while induced with adrenaline of combat. Same thing with Kenny, but Yun-Yun primarily makes sure none of them gets away. Finally, contact! Yachiru's blade crashes upon the hatchet of a demon renegade. A sword would be faster, but the hatchet can easily cut through her reiatsu defense easily. In that matter, she has to be careful. She skips back a bit so she can lessen the momentum and find an opening since hatchets are heavier and clumsier than swords, so more likely the demon will show some weaknesses. Unbelievably, she is correct and earlier than expected. The demon raises his hatchet and brings it down vertically for a chop, but Yachiru sees that coming and steps aside, evading the chop.

"That is pathetic." Yachiru comments as she easily cleaves the hatchet into pieces with one swing, surprising the demon. "You're unarmed and I have no reason to kill you. So I'll save you the trouble and advise you to run." Yachiru speaks to the demon as the demon realizes that Baldy and Kenny have already defeated their share of enemies. In the end, the demons run away from the team and things are back to normal.
