✖ Sometimes it was fun to look so young. It was nice to confuse people, or to surprise them. People didn't expect the young-looking Garret to be a genius, or to be an adult for that matter. He tried to make up for his appearance by dressing as businesslike as possible, white dress shirts and conservative pants. Granted, they were cargo pants, but he liked having the pockets. Sometimes it worked. Usually it didn't. Garret needed to pick up some supplies, pens and paper and the like, for his research. The best place in Karakura to get school supplies was the S-Zone of the Imaginary district, in his opinion. The problem was that S-Zone was rather confusing and he forgot the location of the store.

Oh, and it was ten in the morning, in the middle of the school day.

Garret hadn't even thought of the problem that presented, but it certainly was a problem. He was walking down the street, a plastic bag full of engineering pads, pencils, and the like in his hands, when he'd heard it. "Hey, kid! What are you doing out of school!" The scientist had turned around to see a police officer jogging over to him, a disapproving scowl on his face.

Garret smirked at the man, activating his Alpha-Gravity state. The purple Soul Force formed on his hands and feet, and he used his abilities to make himself lighter before jumping back and up. He felt like he was floating for a minute before he grabbed his pentacle and created a small platform to land on, ten feet in the air. He started jumping down the street, covering more distance, and faster, than the policeman could. He shouted back, slightly irritated, as he dashed away; "I'm not a kid!"

Garret got a good workout out of it; he kept using his power longer than was entirely necessary, creating little platforms whenever he would've descended below ten feet and bounding through the air. Eventually, the jumping and platforms took a bit out of him, and he let himself fall to the ground, deactivating his Soul State Evolution. He leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. He needed to get better at this.

"Hey, kid!"

Garret spun to face the source of the noise with a whithering glare. "I'm nineteen years old. I've been out of high school for longer than a year." The patrolman held up his hands in a pacifying gesture. "Just doin' my job." Garret nodded and leaned back against the wall once more. "One more person..." he muttered to himself, "One more person calls me a kid..."
