Personality: Natsu is a very simple mind at first glance. He's nearly always in high spirts and pumped for whatever he begins, but has the bad habit of dropping everything that becomes boring in his eyes. He lives for the moment, a person that's hard to be mad at for longer than a few minutes, even if he is insensitive. He seems to know no shame at first, but is actually rather shy around bold women and strong females, showing that he is indeed just a 17 year old human.
Another part of him loves to battle, though. Natsu never backs down from a challenge, and is easily impressed by those stronger than him - and always declares himself the rival of anyone stronger than him, trying to surpass them with ridicolously hard training and determination. His will to fight on is hard to beat and even harder to understand most of the time, as he is even known to stand up after passing out, from muscle memory alone, and just stand there, never to completely fall down.
One thing about him in combat, though, is that while his style is wild and uncontrolled, he places protection of his friends above everything. Even if he permanently destroys his ability to fight, Natsu won't back down from protecting someone he sees as a friend, sacrificing his very being for them.
Under the thick shell of someone who loves to eat and to fight is a very caring soul, after all. It doesn't show normally, but Natsu can be very empathic at times.

Power Name: Fire Dragon Slayer Magic (火の滅竜魔法 Ka no Metsuryū Mahō)

Power Development Stage 1 Appearance: Natsu has always-active power in the form of special 'magic', which gives him both fangs and pink hair. The fire he summons looks like normal, orange-red flames, and they have more orange in them when he is angry, making them more dangerous and agressive.
Power Development Stage 1 Abilities: Dragon Scale Immitations
Natsu is able to completely ignore fire-attacks from enemies up to three tiers higher than him, simply taking no damage to either him or his clothing from it, shrugging them off like a breeze in the morning. (Three tiers would mean: if he is 3-2, he could block fire from enemies up to 2-2 without damage) Also, even if fire can hurt him from an enemy, the effect is reduced, and he can't be set on fire for more than a few moments, and only for rather minor damage.

Fire Eater
Besides being nearly immune to fire, Natsu is actually able to eat any fire that was not produced by him. How exactly that works is unknown, however, eating fire heals his wounds and restores his spiritual energy. If the fire is strong enough, it can give him either a temporary power boost (tier raise for the thread), restore him fully, or even unlock his Dragon Force directly.
However, his ability has the limitation of being optimized for fire (or related things like lava, molten steel, etc), and not other elements. Natsu can potentially eat other elements, but doing so damages his body while it restores his energy and activates Dragon Force.

Fire Dragon's Roar (火竜の咆哮 Karyū no Hōkō): The Dragon's Roar exclusive to the Fire Dragon Slayer. User first inhales, gathering fire in his/her mouth, and then releases such fire in the opponents' direction, creating a large, exploding fireball which damages and burns his/her foes. This spell can apparently be performed in two ways: the first and most "complicate" one involves the user putting his/her hands before his/her mouth in a pose resembling that of a trumpeter before releasing his/her fire, prompting it to be expelled between his/her fingers. The flames produced by this version start out as a very thin line, enough to be fit between the user's fingers, before suddenly enlarging to strike the opponents. The other, simpler and seemingly faster way just has the user gather flames and then shoot them out, with no seeming stance required, and a much larger beam of fire being produced directly from the user' mouth.

Fire Dragon's Wing Attack (火竜の翼撃 Karyū no Yokugeki): Channeling fire over his arms, he spreads one or two of them out, with the hands in a flat position. The fire takes on the shape of burning wings that reach up to three times the length of his arms, and upon slashing with them, explode into scorching flames.

Fire Dragon's Claw (火竜の鉤爪 Karyū no Kagitsume): A melee attack combined with Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, the user ignites his foot with flames and proceeds to assault the opponent with a powerful fire-enhanced kick, with the ensuing flames granting the attack more power and speed. He can also create flames on both of his feet, greatly enhancing his speed and allowing him to jet-propel himself in any direction he wishes, allowing him to rapidly get close to opponents to engage in melee, even while using another spell.

Fire Dragon's Iron Fist (火竜の鉄拳 Karyū no Tekken): His basic combat style more than a move. Using flames around his arms, legs and body, he pummels at the opponent with simple close-combat strikes and kicks.

Fire Dragon's Sword Horn (火竜の剣角 Karyū no Kenkaku): User engulfs his/her entire body in flames and then propels himself/herself against the opponent at high speed, hitting them with a powerful headbutt. He/she then proceeds to send the enemy flying up in the air with a pillar of fire produced from his/her body.

Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame (火竜の煌炎, Karyū no Kōen): User generates fire on both of his/her hands and then joins them, creating a unique, larger flame as a result. When such flame collides with the enemy, it creates a very massive and destructive explosion.

Fire Dragon's Flame Elbow (火竜の炎肘 Karyū no Enchū): User creates intense flames bursting backwards from one of his/her elbow, boosting the striking power of the corresponding arm, which is propelled forwards to hit an opponent. The resulting attack is strong enough to send the struck target flying several meters away from the user.

Fire Dragon's Crushing Fang (火竜の砕牙 Karyū no Saiga): A melee spell in which the user ignites one of his/her hands and then moves it before him/her in an arc, hitting the enemy and leaving a wake of fire behind as he/she does so.

Dragon Scream: Natsu lets out a giant roar, loud enough to make the ground under him break a bit. This can deafen opponents for a short time and distract them.

Power Development Stage 2 Appearance: When turning into his second stage, a dragon out of pure flames appears behind Natsu and breaks the ground around him open, like an erupting vulcano.

After that, Natsu's fangs become more visible, and his 'fire dragon scales' across the body become more prominent and stronger. This stage is what is called 'Dragon Force'.
Power Development Stage 2 Abilities: The most basic ability of Dragon Force is, obviously, that Natsu becomes even more of a dragon. While in this form, Natsu can eat fire from any source besides himself, no matter the tier difference, but eating anything apart from fire will still be harmfull. The stronger fire that only Dragon Force can produce is golden in color. (powers with a strike through them are not yet unlocked and will be obtained in training threads or during combat with staff approval)

Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon Fist (紅蓮火竜拳 Guren Karyūken): User ignites his/her fists with large, light spheres and then charges at the opponent, hitting them with a continuous barrage of punches enhanced by Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. Each punch produces a powerful explosion.

Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade (紅蓮爆炎刃 Guren Bakuenjin): User ignites his/her arms and generates long torrents of flames from them, which move to hit the enemy in a spiralling formation. Each connecting strike generates a powerful, burning explosion; an even larger explosion ends the barrage. This spell has been described as the ultimate Dragon Slayer technique, said to be capable of "smashing through dragon's scales, crushing dragon's entrails and reaping dragon's souls".

Hidden Fire Form: Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Sword (滅竜奥義　"不知火型"　紅蓮鳳凰剣 Metsu Ryū Ōgi "Shiranui Gata" Guren Hōō Ken): While in Dragon Force mode, user covers his/her entire body with the golden fire granted by the inner flame and then propels himself/herself against the opponent at incredible speed, leaving behind a long wake of flames and hitting the target with a devastating headbutt.

Dragon God's Brilliant Flame (竜神の煌炎 Ryūjin no Kōen): A spell similar to Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame, but on a much larger scale. After the user has activated Dragon Force and obtained golden fire, he/she generates some of it on his/her left hand, while creating standard fire from Fire Dragon Slayer Magic on his/her right hand. The moment the user's hands are brought together, a gigantic explosion is generated, which destroys the surrounding area and blows the target a major distance away from the user.

Power Development Stage 3 Name: Fire Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic
Power Development Stage 3 Appearance: Natsu's outer appearance in Stage 3 is identical to Dragon Force, but the fire surrounding him and the air are now circled by yellow lightning bolts.
Power Development Stage 3 Abilities: In this stage, which can only be unlocked by devouring a large amount of lightning energy (but it can be accessed again afterwards without it), Natsu obtains the secondary element of lightning, which enhances all of his normal attacks with lightning in addition to fire, causing greater burns, shocks, and improving his speed by making him able to 'ride the lightning' that he himself produces.

Lightning Fire Dragon's Roar (雷炎竜の咆哮 Raienryū no Hōkō): An alternate, enhanced version of the Fire Dragon's Roar, performed when the user has been empowered with lightning. He/she combines such lightning with his/her fire, gathering them within his/her mouth and subsequently releasing them towards the opponent. This generates an extremely large and destructive sparking blast, which produces an immense amount of light and is capable of traveling for great distances, wreaking havoc wherever it passes.

Lightning Fire Dragon's Fist: Is an unnamed Fire Dragon Slayer Magic Spell. An alternate version of Fire Dragon's Iron Fist. After having been empowered by lightning, the user creates a sphere of lightning and fire around his/her fist and uses it to strike the target, electrocuting and damaging them.

Lightning Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame: An alternate, more powerful version of Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame. User, after having been enhanced by lightning, creates a certain amount of such lightning on his/her left hand, and combines it with the flames he/she produces on his/her right hand. Their contact generates a very large, sparking explosion around the targeted enemy.

Crimson Lotus: Exploding Lightning Blade (滅竜奥義・改　紅蓮爆雷刃 Metsu Ryū Ōgi Kai Guren Bakuraijin): An enhanced version of Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade. After having consumed lightning, the user engulfs one hand with the said lightning and the other with flames from his/her Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. Then, by swinging his/her arms around, he/she extends such elements in length, creating a vortex of fire and lightning which greatly damages the opponent and pushes them away from the user with great force.


Background: Natsu is a rather young human of 17 years, but his backstory is quite special. While his mother was a normal human, his father was a Sugiura - known by the name of Gildarts. He had a small affair with the mother of the boy, but she died when he was still only four years old - on her deathbed, she finally told him the name of his father as well as telling him to become strong like him. Words that Natsu took to heart for sure.
During this time, they lived on the outskirts of Karakura, although Natsu never knew why they did not live inside of the barrier. Nobody was there to actually take care of him after his mother died, and it would've been over for him soon after - had not a greater force interfered. One night, Natsu was swept away - in the claws of a gigantic, feral beast, as the boy was stumbling through Karakura Forest on the search for something edible.

Thankfully, that giant shadow did not intend to eat the boy. Instead, he revealed himself in a friendly light - he was a dragon with red scales, a gigantic beast of fire by the name of Igneel. In an act of kindness, Igneel took Natsu in - teaching him how to survive and treating him like his own son, far away from human society. In order to survive like a draon, Natsu had to become like one - and so Igneel broke an old law of his race and tought his adoptive son a forbidden technique, called the 'Dragon Slayer Magic', turning Natsu into a pseudo-dragon in a human body.
Like this, Natsu quickly became an adapt hunter, and even learned how to actually cook from his foster father. With time, he also learned that Dragon Slayer magic is one of the few things able to break through the scales of the winged beasts, and that, should an evil dragon ever threaten the ones he cares about, he should use that to his advantage. From Igneel, he was taught the importance of companionship, and to always keep those he considered his kin close. The only thing Igneel could not teach him was fear - so Natsu became a very brash, quick tempered, but still intelligent young man with time.
