The wind, chill and sharp as a razor, sliced into flesh. Old trees that withstood time’s test stood tall from root to trunk. With canopy thick branches and leaves spanned out all across the green mountain. Ritsuko thrived in her solitude, keeping a peaceful mind when not in another’s presence. With only nocturnal animals foraging for food she carefully treaded where no Human dared for decades. Wise blue eyes felt nature’s flow from earth sea and sky. Above head right arm raised high, through a small opening above, reaching for the moon. Old words passed softly from pale lips. Unseen threads were tugged and molded, overlapping as words weaved a spell of power.

Stories told her kind as destroyers, monsters who defied more than the natural order. However, as chilled winds kissed pale flesh nature’s life pulsed as left hand rested her upper body against an old trunk. Far away and all around nature’s bounty flowed into her mind. Soon summer’s death would come yet death signified a new beginning. From her mind she tugged on the phantasmal energies found in all things, Simply because her kind destroyed did not mean all did. With similar yet different beliefs Ritsuko's mind tingled with warmth, as though fuzzy green brown and gray chalk carved ancient symbols.

From all directions she felt spiritual matter and energy, the ebb and flow like a river and she began walking once more towards a thicket. Wise eyes looked where others would not. Certain markings signaled a path with old symbols that had been long yet not faded; Carved into stone and tree alike Ritsuko went interrupted by wolves large as a horse or boars well feed as buffalo. The small porcelain doll was not scared for she had no reason to be. With but a momentary eye passed by boar and wolf Ritsuko carried on. With dark brown leather backpack she marched up and downhill, through thick brush and across rough mountain stream.

Sweat dripped from Jian Yijun's hairline, splashing against the grass continuously trampled by the young man's feet as he moved to and fro. Dressed in nothing but a pair of soft bamboo cotton trousers meant to be worn during training and exercises, both of which he was currently performing. Swinging his gigantic guandao in wide arcs, Kai remained alone in this small clearing in the middle of Karakura's vast forest just outside the bounds of the futuristic economic and cultural world center. With every motion a loud grunt escaped Kai's lips, giving power to his swings and thrusts. Minute gusts of wind shot out from every movement of Erphtal, sending waves of air across the clearing.

Though Kai continually broke past his own limitations and achieved new heights of strength and determination, it was never enough for the Chinese youth. The search for power didn't come from an area of wanting to be superior, for Kai it came directly from his incorruptible need to protect those who could not protect themselves. There would always be more powerful and more dangerous enemies seeking to bring harm to the weak or those he cared about, which at this point was essentially the entire planet of Earth and its denizens, so Kai had to make sure he was always experiencing growth of some kind. Whether it be further developing his special abilities, disciplining his skills and fighting techniques, or just overall enhancing his body he absolutely has to be improving.

Kai's current training regiment consisted of seeking out various environments, such as a desert one day and a frozen tundra the next, and then working out and performing sets of exercises. Most of these exercises worked to strengthen his endurance and allow him to swing Erphtal harder and faster, for it was his main and ancestral weapon of which he almost always used in combat situations. Though the cool air nipped at his bare skin, Kai wouldn't allow it to slow down his training in any way. What would slow him down though was the arrival of an individual he just barely recognized from some point in his past. Kai stopped moving and relaxed his body, his toned muscular chest still slightly heaving from the exhaustive motions he'd been performing for hours now, and called out to the forest. "Hey! Come on out whoever you are, lets have a chat. My name is Kai."

With enough problems Ritsuko finally gave into her desires. To many possible enemies were showing up without her having anyone she considered true allies. Toshiko wasn't anywhere around and hadn't been for months. Although Ritsuko greatly worried about both her and Steiner she reserved herself from seeking them out figuring they were off somewhere vacationing. Last she recalled they were somewhere safe although she wouldn't reveal their existence onto anyone. Henrex himself was more of an uncertainty although feelings were not coming in way completely of her decisions. Finally deciding to test herself and achieve greater power Ritsuko went through an extensive process to find someone worthy of facing.

From what she understood obtaining this power meant tapping into something. She wasn't sure what it was however she was already prepared.

She gave no indication what she was planning to do but this thing might know her well. Therefore, Ritsuko simply needed to do what she didn't normally do. Utilizing her own Quincy step she flash step forwards
the man who introduced himself as Kai..who for all intensive purposes was training in the lovely Karakura forest...

Being a kind woman she always is she introduced herself with a smile on her face when in reality she was rather confused..why in the hell would he be out here training in nothing but boxers.
"The name's Ritsuko or rits for short. You look oddly familiar, have we met before?"

Kai was actually glad for the arrival of a newcomer as training by himself day in and day out could become pretty lonesome after a while. Most of his time spent interacting with others was greeting Vanguard members in any of the dozens or more bases the organization he'd recently joined possessed throughout the world. Unfortunately for Kai the vast majority of these meetings consisted of seminars and introductions to management and hierarchical systems which, for all intents and purposes, were horribly boring to Kai. Learning about the Vanguard's various statistical and organizational data was mind numbing, which just further pushed Kai to find new and exciting individuals to spar or battle.

For these reasons Kai was elated when Ritsuko entered the small clearing and introduced herself. Kai had to think about her question for a few moments, unsure if they had actually met because her energy signature seemed pretty unfamiliar. However after just a dozen seconds or so of thought Kai's eyes lit up once he figured it out. "Oh right! We met briefly in that apocalyptic city Tampa a while back. You know I never did get to see what you were truly capable of....wanna show me? I'm down for a little sparring match if you are." After making his offer Kai shifted weight to his left foot and tore his polearm from the ground, carrying it horizontally in his right hand. If Ritsuko accepted he was prepared for whatever she would throw at him.

Ah yes the human known as Kai, the last time they met was at during the events occurring in Hawaii..nothing but monsters and mutants running around rampent causing chaos to innocents. She was curious as to what his abilities were as well, surely a few months of training had to give him new things right?

Whatever the case ritsuko wasn't going to deny a request, especially a sparring match besides she was looking for someone to test out her new abilities on. "Alright then Kai, let's do this!" Just then Ritsuko immediately stepped back a few feet from Kai and decided to transform...however this transformation in particular required an oath to be said and is said to increase the person's power.

"Light and Dark merge together to achieve renewal and balance."

Stomping her foot on the ground, the crying sound of her seal whirred out as it began glowing a pulsating orange bright enough to be seen underneath her clothes. "I will solve all mysteries, even the mystery of death." Her feet began to float off the ground as if she was floating, the seal between her chest began puslating so much that an orange outline appeared around her entire body.

"Come child, take my hand as we'll explore the Descent of the Goddess!"

As she said the words her seal began to glow bright orange accomponied with a small scream, as ritsuko felt a great rush of solar energy and found herself being lifted high off the ground. Her eyes changed from their beautiful aqua blue to a dark red color similar to that of blood, her outfit had a beautiful black and red design symbolizing the beauty of space her brown hair now changing to blonde. A black crown was atop her head and a flowing red cape began swishing in the wind.

In her right hand ritsuko carried a spellbook engraved with symbols and a skull in the middle. And on her left was a small one handed sword with a fire-like theme. With a flip of her spellbook pages ran across as she began observing each and everyone each one was filled with different symbols and phrases no mortal human would understand.

"Let us begin shall we~

As Ritsuko performed her sun transformation, Kai looked awkwardly to the side and scratched his head lightly with his left hand. For her he figured it was an important moment but Kai felt too uncomfortable to watch because it involved changing her clothes and appearance, and the sounds coming from the seal freaked him out a bit. It wasn't until her changes were finally done did Kai look back up and turn his gaze back toward his newest sparring partner. Head to toe Ritsuko looked almost entirely different than just a moment ago, which was pretty startling to the Chinese youth. He did not possess any sort of dramatic transformation like this so it was a pretty new experience for him witnessing one occur. Regardless of her new appearance Kai would have to be ready for anything because as he'd said he still had no idea what she was actually capable of.

Having been in a dozen combat situations by this point Kai knew it was usually better to go on the offensive as early as possible so as to not give his opponent any chance to come up with any advanced tactics or battle plans, thus without waiting any longer he did so. Kai shifted his feet apart and switched his grip so both hands were holding Erphtal's shaft as he assumed an aggressive stance. After stepping forward Kai swung his polearm in a wide arc from right to left which sent a fast-moving crescent shaped flame flying toward Ritsuko, the heat enough to evaporate all the water in the air for meters in every direction as well as singe the grass it passed over. Kai's green flames were particularly dangerous due to being being inextinguishable by water no matter the quantity.

After sending forth such a dangerous blast of fire Kai resumed his stance from before and waited for his opponent's reaction, whatever it would be. He wanted to see how she would deal with his fire if at all before continuing his assault against the woman.

She watched in wonder as Kai began moving his body into a series of movements and initiating what appeared to be a stance of sorts. After that she saw that Kai sent a green crescent shaped flame began heading towards her, Ritsuko couldn't help but be astonished at his ability to deliver such force into an attack and the fact the he was a fire user as well made it even more exciting.

However her cockiness made her to believe that she was the greatest fire user ever and those are beneath her.

An interesting display of power their boy, but not good enough "Heataro Flames!

Once said a small shockwave of fire began to appear around ritsuko spreading outwards up to 40 yards, if the spell hit the fire would be force between the two attacks would disperse into a stalemate or at least she hoped. If the fire managed to be stronger than Kai's he would pushed back a few feet with extreme burn marks across his body. And if not she would get up close and personal and use Hikari to blind him with bright UV light.

Perhaps if Ritsuko's attack had been more condensed instead of covering such a large range she could have overwhelmed Kai's own fire, but instead all that happened was the green fire was slowed down and the rest of the field was showered by her fire until abating. Kai's now-weakened attack continued on toward Ritsuko until she either officially expelled it or dodged out of the way. "Thanks for the compliment, but you haven't seen anything yet!"

After quickly tossing Erphtal to the side Kai assumed a new stance, this time with his left foot and arm forward. Shifting his right foot forward Kai punched straight at Ritsuko from about fifteen meters away, striking the air. This caused a large inferno of his green flames to erupt from where his fist was and shoot directly toward Ritsuko with both increased intensity and force compared to his previous attack. The blast of fire increased in size until having a diameter of over five meters. Sweat licked at Kai's brow as he continued to use his Jade Dragon's Flames, an ability which can quickly become exhaustive.

Once his previous attack ended Kai punched toward Ritsuko twice in rapid succession, each strike sending forth a small sphere of green fire which traveled quickly through the air and closed the gap between the two combatants in just a short amount of time. "Take that!" yelled Kai with great vigor, clearly enjoying this bout with Ritsuko.

Great now this was getting annoying the initial fire she thought would be driven to a stalemate was slowed down and still going strong. Not to mention another fire ontop of that and three small balls of green fire ready to attack her at once.

No matter, Ritsuko had prepared for a situation like this rather then fire another attack she needed to gain some coverage or space she could destroy the first flame the second one would hit her as well as the fireballs too. And what better way to do it then dodge with style?

Heatoro Flames! Just like before the ability is fired from ritsuko's right hand as red-yellow fire starts to seep out of it. She then releases a powerful stream of red-yellow fire not towards the fire but rather the ground itself. By her calculations the knockback effect would propel her into the air and allow to get a better view of the surrounding area.

"I got to admit your pretty good, but let's see if you can dodge these
Molten Barrage!" This ability is similar to that of a regular fireball however it does twice the damage and can be condensed to smaller ones similar to that of a meteor shower. The major downside however is that it's really draining and can shorten the length of her solar form.

With that a barrage of fire would be falling down striking at Kai, these fireballs would do moderate burn damage if they successfully hit but this would give Kai plenty of time to think of a way to repel the attack.

Kai watched as his opponent used her flames to dodge out of the way of his own, disappointed he didn't get to see her try to counter them. This feeling abated pretty quickly however as Ritsuko went on the offensive with her own attack, this time a meteor shower-like rain of fire balls all aiming to overwhelm the young fighter. Though Kai's two fireballs from earlier clashed with and destroyed two of his opponent's, there were still many more falling from the sky.

Not wanting to let his enemy's attack get too close to him, Kai switched to his Ranger Stance which summoned a jade bow held in his left hand. Kai rapidly nocked arrows and let loosed them, shooting through each flaming meteor midair causing beautiful explosions of red and green. With each fireball countered by a flaming arrow, the sky was lit up by the fireworks display resulting from the clashes. Though there were none, onlookers would likely stand in awe at the bright lights far above them.

"Sorry but it's not that easy to take me out! You're gonna have to try a little harder!" Kai decided it was time for things to get even more serious, a decision which prompted him to push the boundaries of his Jade Dragon's Flames. After switching back to Standard Stance, and thus causing his bow to disappear, Kai stood straight up with his arms held straight out horizontally. He then brought in both of his hands together in a prayer-like fashion before suddenly dropping to the ground and slamming his hands into the dirt. From far above Kai's head Ritsuko might be able to see a large circle of green light shining on the ground in front of his body in the shape of an odd unrecognizable sigil. "AHHHH!!" Kai yelled out loud from the effort required to create a gigantic ten meter wide pillar of brilliant jade fire which shot out of the ground toward Ritsuko at a significantly faster pace than any of his prior attacks. If she tried dodging out of the way Kai would manipulate the pillar to bend and follow wherever she went. Sweat poured off his body as his muscles tensed and his entire strength was put behind this attack. It was crunch time and Kai was going to show everything he was capable of.
