Cyrus simply nodded in response to her. He understood the degree to which this would surely change him. Perhaps he would not even live through it, and whatever creature named Cyrus left this cave would be another man altogether. If such was the case, then even that was acceptable. So long as that Cyrus still carried on toward this ideal.

"I understand. Whatever must be done, I will accept it."

It was true that he could not entirely have conceived of what would actually occur in this cave. The degree to which he would be changed, the sheer weight of what was to follow or the nature of his own being afterward. But there was not even a single degree of fear as he accepted his fate. Whatever Shirohime would do to him was, in the grand scheme of things, inconsequential. It was worth it for the sake of what was to come.
