RAFAELA LEONE

"And here you are, trying to reason with an animal!"

What a bunch of nonsense. Rafaela wasn't really listening anymore, far too enthralled by the heat of battle to care. Her eyes widened as she watched the spear come in, and once again, she allowed it to take purchase. She didn't need her sword, that was the biggest mistake her foe was making. Even as her arm became completely useless for this bout, Rafaela wasn't concerned with the wound at all.

"You shouldn't waste your time like that!"

All she needed was one working arm, to pull herself in with a vicegrip and sink her teeth squarely into Catherine. She was aiming for the neck with this bite, the sheer might in her diminutive body more than enough to turn most people into mulch even with this. The weak were feed for the strong, that was all that mattered out here in the wastes.

"Catherine Reed"

Fine. That made what come next just to be expected for a day on the job. If she was dealing with an animal, then she'd be dealt with like one. Even as that vice grip came for a clump of loose hair, she was ready to retaliate with the sudden removal of her spear from the smaller woman's arm. As those teeth came for her throat, the small space between her face and mask would be made visible, oddly appearing as if she were making the shot clearer for a moment...

Only for a wad of spit to go flying into Rafaela's face, particularly her eyes - it'd quickly become obvious that it was not only an offensive gesture, but rather stinging her opponent's eyes with a hollows acidic quality applied to the attack; by no means was it strong, but it'd be an effective blinding agent for the split second she'd needed, two things occurring simultaneously - One, the edge of her shield went to suddenly bash into her opponent's open jaw, the force applied with the assistance of Bringer Light, even with her arm still healing, would have been enough to render a normal person's mouth nothing but a bloodied cavern of shattered bone and ruined flesh.

Her hand released her spear, the weapon falling onto the ground bloodied, her hand going down to her belt area, the long hollow-made machete both pulled and sent into the back of Rafaela's tightened grip in the same instance, sawing and slicing in rapid succession until the tendons used to clamp that hand shut were thoroughly ruined. The first opportunity she managed to part, she would run; not with the assistance of Bringer Light unless her opponent made a mad dash just a bit too close to her, panting and a random look back to seem as if she were overwhelmed prey as she would head to the building she glanced at earlier, ducking into hiding if she confirmed the shorter woman was following her, holding her injured arm as if it was enough to do her in.
