Psychological Analysis

Elara is a talkative girl, who’ll quite happily bend the ear of anyone that she happens to meet, regardless of whether they wish her to or not. She’s used to getting her own way and acts rather spoiled a lot of the time, so much so that it’s pretty usual for her to become impatient and irritable if a situation doesn’t play out the way she’d like. Due to her work, Elara has become awfully familiar with being the centre of attention and if she’s not, the pink haired woman will do her best to make sure that she ends up being so. This naturally doesn’t make her a great team player and she can be rather scathing with her words if she loses her temper, even with those who are able to befriend her. It would be fair to say that she’s quite the brat and those who point the fact out are likely to be on the end of a foul mouthed rebuttal from her.

There is a softer side to her although this tends to show itself more in her music than anywhere else. She finds it easier to express her feelings through her guitar rather than by a heart to heart talk and if one listens carefully to the melodies she plays, they may just detect a gentler soul beneath the spiky exterior. It can also come through in combat, as Elara never leaves an ally behind and is willing to support those she fights by using her abilities, ironically being rather effective when it comes to doing such things. It could be asked why such a seemingly selfish girl would want to help anyone but the truth is that is something she promised her mother before her passing. She was Elara's biggest supporter and set her on the path to becoming the idol she is today…or at least thinks she is.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

It didn’t take long for Elara to find her voice and from the moment she learned to speak, her parents had quite the difficult job when it came to stopping her. The young girl seemed to have an opinion about everything and while this often got her into trouble, her family realised early on that the best way to handle the situation was to simply encourage her. She grew up in a rather wealthy household in Japan and she was thoroughly spoiled by those closest to her, so much so that for her entire childhood, Elara could probably count on one hand the amount of times she was told no.

As she grew, Elara became fascinated by a group of young women that seemed to be plastered all over the TV. They all sang and played instruments, with those watching them seeming to be completely besotted with them. It didn't take long for the pink haired girl to realise that she desired exactly the same treatment and soon enough, she was hounding her parents to purchase an instrument for her. As always, they couldn’t say no to her and soon enough, she found herself the owner of a beautiful guitar, decorated with hearts and absolutely adorable on the eyes. She fell in love with it from the moment she saw it and dedicated herself to learning how it worked. At first, her parents would hire tutors for her but Elara soon ended up upsetting so many of them that they refused to teach her. The girl was just too strong willed.

So, she developed her talents on her own and as time passed, Elara became quite the master of her instrument, with the ability to play any composition that she came across in the books her teachers had left behind. Her dedication was admirable and once she’d run out of examples to play, Elara began to create her own songs which were rather unlike her in truth. She created works which were so gentle and tender, enough to melt even the hardest hearts, traits which she rarely ever showed herself. She poured her heart into her music and in return, although she did not realise it at first, her guitar would react in kind.

She had no knowledge of the fact that her mother had been attacked before her birth and as such was completely ignorant to the abilities that were available to her. Her parents didn’t utter a word to her about the topic and kept her completely in the dark. The world of Hollows was one that she’d be completely shielded from and for years, she simply continued to live her privileged and wonderful life, chasing the dream that she knew one day she would accomplish.

Unfortunately, her life would take a rather unhappy turn, as her mother would eventually come down with an illness that even the most expensive doctor couldn’t seem to figure out. Elara would become even more temperamental during this period, hurling abuse at everyone who she came into contact with. The only person that she was able to hold herself together around was her ailing mother, who she would spend hours sitting beside, strumming her guitar and serenading her with her latest works.

It was during one of these sessions that her mother would finally open up about the cause of her illness, one that had slowly but surely been eating away at her. She spoke of the monstrous creature that had attacked her, opening Elara’s eyes as to what was truly out there. The pink haired girl said nothing during the entire affair but as soon as her mother had finished, Elara would grab her guitar and leave the room, her mind consumed with just one thought. She was going to deal with this creature, even though she had no idea how.

The odds were slim that she’d even survive but she didn’t care and after around twenty minutes or so, she’d see something that the girl would never forget. A winged monster, standing about three times as tall as her, wearing a white mask that covered its entire face. A frightening creature for sure and one that seemed to be entirely focused on her, ignoring any other presence in the area. It would approach her, causing her to instinctively bring her guitar out but rather than attack, it would sniff, before laughing, as though it recognised her scent.

Elara, however, didn’t laugh and instead just swore at the creature before bringing her hand down on to the strings of her guitar and starting to play. The sound that came from it was unlike any that she’d played before but it felt so right and as she continued, her guitar would radiate with energy, causing a sound wave to emerge and strike the Hollow. It would shriek, its body distorting as the wave tore through its body but Elara didn’t stop, continuing to play and releasing more of those waves, each one dealing more and more damage until finally, it would vanish completely.

It’d all happened so quickly that Elara was left bemused for a moment but as she stopped playing and glanced down at her guitar for a moment, a smirk would cross her features, before she headed home. Of course she had powers, she knew it all along…

Yet, even though she’d managed to kill the beast, her mother would still pass away a short time later, leaving the girl completely and utterly crushed. The pain would never leave her although she eventually came to the conclusion that rather than simply berate others in her grief, that she should instead channel them into her music. The results spoke for themselves and soon enough, her talents were noticed by a friend of the family, who’d bring her into his fold of entertainers, where she could finally show off her skills for the world to see.

It was hard work but eventually she’d achieve her goal, becoming the idol that she’d always wanted to be. Her family's wealth would only increase and eventually, she’d move into a luxurious home of her own, a fact that her father was incredibly pleased about but naturally didn’t tell her. Elara had everything she wanted, money, fame, legions of fans but deep down, she was still mourning her mother, every song she wrote a tribute to her.

Alongside her music, there was another matter that she spent a great deal of time handling. Her developing powers. Not knowing who she could talk to about such things, she’d simply experiment on her own at first, attempting to find the limits of just what she could do. Her guitar seemed to be the key to it all and as she continued to tinker, a whole new world of discovery opened up before her.

The instrument was capable of so much when it was with her and while at first she believed that it was simply used for offensive purposes, she was taught otherwise during a concert which went rather badly, about a year and a half after her mother had passed.

It started like any other and Elara was probably a good half way through her musical numbers when things went awry. The crowd would start to shriek and shout, with all eyes turning away from the singer towards the sky. Elara would attempt to play on, even though she was rather pissed that the attention was focused elsewhere but a feral scream was enough to cause her to stop. The reason was obvious and her eyes widened as a number of Hollows had decided to gatecrash the event, much to the annoyance of the idol. Two of them came straight for her, forcing her to tap into her developing powers and leap away, a massive jump that sent her flying over the top of both of them. She couldn’t face them in a brawl unless she had the advantage and so she’d have to focus on her speed, using her powers to keep at a far enough distance away.

As much as she hated having to thank anyone, she had to admit that being introduced to a spiritually aware man previously in the year named Akira had done wonders for her skills. He was a dick but he explained to her the basics of the world that she was truly becoming involved with. His training was tough but she handled herself well, enough that soon enough she was lecturing him as much as he was her. He had a great deal of patience but he sure talked a lot of gibberish, resulting in her snapping more than once. By the time he was finished though, Elara was prepared and now was just another opportunity for her to show just how far she'd progressed.

Once she had room, Elara would fire off a barrage of pink coloured notes from her guitar, battering the pair of Hollows and forcing them to screech in pain. Her eyes blazed with confidence, the confusion from those early days completely gone and the manner in which she blitzed around was more of a show than her music, resulting in a few of her fans managing to gather up the strength to cheer her on. The two Hollows who’d been struck would become paralysed by her attack, allowing Elara to move in closer and charge her guitar with energy, before launching a powerful swing that sent the creatures up into the air, before slamming them towards the ground.

The other two would still be flying around though, with one seeing the pinkette coming and firing what appeared to be acid towards her. With a cocky smile, Elara would thrum her guitar, creating an almost web-like structure of guitar strings as a defence. Acid met webbing but thankfully, her defence was good enough to protect her, giving her the time she needed to play a rather melancholic song, one which seemed to rob the Hollows of their will to fight. It was a fairly new technique of hers but one that she was thankful worked, as the creatures would slow to a halt, seemingly lost in their own thoughts. With a brief strum of her instrument, she’d fire off one last blast of musical notes that would take them out.

That seemed to be it but as Elara hovered in the air and looked down, she noticed that a fair number of her fans had been injured, so overcome by fear that they’d ended up panicking and trying to escape, causing mass hysteria. It wasn’t a pretty sight and so determined was she to put a stop to it that she’d once again put her hand to her instrument and begin to play although this time it was a far more gentle song, one which would reverberate around the arena and calm the mass of people. That, however, was only the first stage as the injuries of those harmed would soon begin to repair themselves, bathing in the beautiful sound.

To the amazement of all, Elara would, at the end of her healing melody, return to the stage and continue from where she left off, leaving the astonished crowd to simply gawk.

Yes, Elara was developing quite well in both her musical and Fullbringer career and if anyone needed any further assurances of that. All they’d have to do is ask her.

EQUIPMENT

○ Money: Elara always carries around with her a lot of cash, as she never knows when she'll come across something that'll catch her eye.

POWERS AND SKILLS

○ Sound Martial Skills: During her training with Akira, she was taught how to defend herself when she's unable to use her fullbring. Elara fights in a fluid and graceful manner although she is neither the most durable or physically strong girl. Speed is her strongest ally and knowing just where to strike.

○ Strong Willed: Elara has always known what she wants out of life and is determined to do whatever is necessary to achieve it. She was willing to face her mother's attacker without even knowing anything about her powers and never wilts when faced with a difficult challenge. If anything, she is too stubborn for her own good.

○ Bringer Light: Elara picked up the general idea of Bringer Light rather quickly and she's become capable of using it multiple times in succession without suffering any form of tiredness. This ability was drilled into her during her training rather firmly, as agility is a necessity for her to be able to fight properly using her fullbring.

○ Full Manifestation: She's not quite as good with this ability and Elara is still figuring out precisely the uses of manipulating objects. While she can make subtle changes to them or give them a little shove, she's far away from being considered an expert in the field.

○ Hollow Factor: Again, she's still coming to terms with the Hollow side of herself but Elara is by no means fearful of it and is beginning to experiment with it. At this stage, she's able to sense spiritual beings around her but that's about the limit.

FULLBRING AFFINITY

○ Affinity Name: Song Of The Soul

○ Affinity Appearance: Elara's fullbring takes on the appearance of an electric guitar that she was given by her mother as a child. It is pink in colour and covered with hearts, giving it a rather cute appearance. Unlike most fullbring, Song Of The Soul always remains in the same form, due to Elara's admiration for music and her love for her deceased mother, regardless of whether it is active or not.

○ Affinity Abilities: Song Of The Soul's abilities all revolve around the art form of music with each song played or action taken providing Elara with multiple options. From direct attacks to supporting her allies, her fullbring allows her to play a variety of roles in a fight. When on the attack, she is capable of unleashing barrages of musical notes that are able to immobilise her targets, leaving them open for either herself or her allies to finish off. On the defence, she is able to use her notes in order to create a shield to defend herself and if needed, she can also support her allies by playing songs which can not only heal their wounds but bolster their physical and spiritual abilities as well.
