America Ho! Empty America Ho!

Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:15 pm
It was a nice and cloudy day out on the farm in a small unknown town of Illinios, USA on March 3rd. It was mostly empty, and the soil was just plowed and a young man about 24 was out workin in the field. He was hoeing the field to get the seeds ready. The handle of the hoe looked abit wierd, as if it didn't belong. The man's blond hair was wet with sweat as he looked into the sky and wiped his forehead. "ah, a good days work" he spoke with accomplishment. He stared through his glasses with his neon blue eyes at the sun that was just peaking out from a cloud. It was nice to be fully settled down. And back at home. He wore a thin white tee-shirt and blue baggy jeans that were all dusty from work. His shirt was practicly see through from the sweat of a long days job, and had some dirt stains around it. He had quiet a muscle tone, it wasnt buldging, but it was still there.

He kept hoeing the field to make sure everything was perfect. He had done this for many years, and has come to throughly enjoy it. It usualy took him about 2-3 days to finish, but he was about to get it done in under a day. And next was the seeds. He sold many crops a year and was expecting a good harvest this year, he was usualy right about these things. He let out a sigh has he kept working, he did kinda miss social interaction, but this was work, and it did have to be done. He dug his Hoe into the ground and sat down leaning against it taking a break. He wore worker's boots, and held onto the hoe still with thick tan gloves. He took a hat off his back and put it on his head to block the sun.

The hat was an ordinay Straw hat, He looked almost like a picture perfect simple farmer. And it was what he always aspired to reach, since he had been farming since america was Declared independant.

Shuichi Minamino had been traveling the world, looking for his calling in life. Somehow, his trip had brought him to american farmland. He was highly confident that his future wasn't in agriculture. Still, he liked the peace, the quiet, and the nature. He sensed the reiatsu of another spiritual being nearby, and wondered what one would be doing out here. Maybe these farmers had spiritual awareness. As for his race, he was a demon, but he would never tell anyone that. When he told people he was a demon, they always thought he was evil.

Shuichi had green eyes, and long, red hair that went below his waist. He wore a white school uniform with black and gold trim. He was fairly short, around 5'7" to 5"8", with a thin but built body. In the front pocket of his uniform was a red rose, which he always kept with him. He found the farm were the reiatsu was coming from, and looked around it. It seemed well taken care of. The crops were healthy, the land was well taken care of, and he could tell it was natural farming, no pesticides used. He saw the farmer, resting lazily from a days long work on the farm. Kurama started to walk up to the man.

"This is a nice farm. I can see your a good farmer. Your land is well taken care of, and you don't use pesticides. Those are horrible for the quility of your crop." Kurama figured he might as well start a conversation with the man, start getting a grip of his personality before he dove into the spiritual awareness. He didn't want to do anything to offend the being.

The man watched this young adolescent walk up to him. It was so nice to see you people wander around such secluded lands, and was abit curiouse of why. He doesnt know the childs race, other than the fact that he is not human due to the restue that was given off. "thank you" he spoke warm and sincerly. He took much appreaciation in his work. "i have been working on it for years" He lifeted the hoe up over his shoulder and walked over to the child. it would be a nice breack.

He held out his hand in the traditional greeting of americans "im Cody, may i ask your name" He gave a warm inviting smile. He could tell by this kids eyes that he had knowledge of agriculture." And i have never touched the stuff" It has been long since interaction with someone who knew more about agriculture than most of the farmers near by. and he had this gut feeling that there was fun to be made soon. he just hoped it wouldn't ruin his farm.

Kurama was curious now. The farm was grown so well, and yet he said he never touched the stuff. "Who's been tending the plants if you haven't?" Maybe an older family member or something. They were extremely well taken care of, so someone had to be doing some form of work. It was good to see that even in this era of machines there was still agriculture.

He turned his attention to the being that stood before him. He held his hand out and shook the man's hand. "I'm Shuichi Minamino. Pleasure to meet you." Shuichi let his hand go and looked him up and down. He was guessing the man was either a spiritually aware human, or perhaps a shinigami. Kurama was a spiritual being himself, a demon, although he never told anyone. He didn't like to be compared to his moronic demon counterparts. That was the precise reason he left the demon world.

"It's rare for me to see spiritual beings on earth" Kurama could have beaten around the bush, but it would have wasted unnecessary time. He'd prefer to just be straight forward and get things rolling. "Do you live here? With a family, or what?" Kurama always liked to study people throughly.

"I work on this with my sisters" He spoke calmly, He was only half examining this man. After the word 'Spiritual Beings' was thrown out, he knew that Shuichi was deffinently not human. He was on the possibility of this kid being a demon, although he has met very few. "heh, in a way im spiritualy aware, but unlike most people. i dont realy give off any pressure" He chuckled.

"So what about you? your obviously not of this earh for using the term earth" He had a pretty nice feeling for Shuichi. No malice was felt, he seemed more normal then normal. Like a real gentleman, kinda reminds Cody of himself."why are you here anyway" he ment no offence "your look does seem abit uninterested in the agricultrual area"

Cody had been fairly intelligent. Shuichi chuckled as Cody asked were he was from, and what he was doing around these parts. It was funny, Shuichi didn't have the slightest idea of why he was here, either. However, he was interested in the boy. He wanted to see what he was capable of, and figured a friendly spar wouldn't be such a bad idea. He wasn't the violent type, but there was nothing wrong with wanting to keep one's strength from rusting.

"What would you say to a spar, Cody? We can move it away from your farm, i'd hate to ruin your crop." He was intrigued to what kind of abilities this boy was capable of. He took the rose from his front pocket, and used his reiatsu to grow the stem out. It was his signature rose whip, his main weapon in combat. He was sure Cody was just as intrigued by him.

As Cody would soon see, Shuichi was a deadly opponent. His power wasn't the greatest right now, but his intelligence was his deadliest aspect in combat. He wasn't aiming to kill his sparring partner, but he didn't intend on making it easy for him, either. He wanted to push the boy, but he would begin by analyzing him in combat. He wanted to know his strengths, weaknesses, and method of combat. It was always how he started his contests, both training and actual. If his training was too easy, then he wouldn't learn from the experience.

Cody was alittle surprised by the question " heh, i wouldn't figure fo you to be a fighter Shuichi" he took off the hoe end to reveal a staff. "sure lets" he smiled as he headed into the nearby plain feild. still no restu was emiting from him. "thats a pretty cool whip. i wonder wich will fair off better" He spun with staff around causing abit of wind.

He wanted to know what this child could do. and was rather upset about him not anserwing the questiong from earlier. He didnt feel anything bad about him, so he decided to give this spar a shot. He already knew Shuichi was a smart kid. And was older than he appeard, but Cody was the same infact, rather by a much older age and more experience. it hasnt been to long since his last fight, only a couple of years. He hoped that he wasnt to rusty.

He was waiting for the child to make the first strike, he wasnt sure of his fighting style. this would be a fun spar.

Kurama and Cody had moved to an open field, which would be a much better place to train instead of the middle of his farm. Cody had said his whip was pretty cool, but his whip wasn't his only weapon. He started to spin his whip in the air, after realizing Cody was waiting for him to start this contest off. "May the best man prevail." He could tell by Cody's reaction he didn't think of Kurama as a fighter, but that was the precise reason he took this shifter form. People would underestimate him, and he wouldn't be bothered by people looking for a challenge.

Kurama started to run in at Cody, the whip still circling in the air above his head. He jumped into the air and lashed the whip down on Cody several times. It was a basic move, and he'd most likely block it, but thats what he had been planning on. He wanted to see how he would counter, see if he would merely deflect the whiplashes, or if he would try to counter attack Kurama. Kurama was known by those who knew him well to be three steps ahead of his opponent in combat, and he would show Cody why people would often say that of him.

He planned on taking more damage than Cody in the beginning, but Cody would be fighting to prevent damage. Kurama would be fighting to study every aspect of Cody, including how much damage his weapons and abilities could inflict on an opponent. Once he had the information he needed, Cody would start to see why people disliked fighting him. Once their combat abilities were explored, it was much harder for them to hit him, much less defeat him.

Cody spun the staff against his arms and shoulder and side-stepped dodging the strikes in strides. Almost like he was preforming a dance, He then stuck his staff into the ground and flung himself high over the rest of the strikes. He reached about the level of Shuichi, and swung his staff against his hand. He was hoping to knock the whip out of kuramas hand. he decided that his still with the whip was mostly fluid persition, but he wasnt one hundred percent due to the lack of force. this may be a sparing match, but even then the attack looked abit sloppy

"A man with your brain should be better Shuichi" He spoke as he landed on the ground behind him. Cody dragged the staff while spinning to face the child. He was thinking that maybe they were on the same page. first analyzing the opponent before deciding on wich style to use. Cody has learned many staff combat, and still didnt have a feel on wich on to use for this sparring. He would hold back as long as Shuichi did.

He lunged forward and smacked the staff against Shuich's chest over the arms making much hard to move. He held on both sides and in the grapple and bended his back to slam the child on his head.

He ignord the fact that Cody had tried telling him that he should have made a better move with his level of intelligence. That statement proved to himself that Cody had much to learn about the world of combat yet. Kurama quckly dropped the whip into his left hand as Cody brought hs staff down on Kurama's right hand. It stung a bit, but he had been through far worse pain. For telling him he made a bad opening move, the boy hadn't made his the greatest either.

Kurama waited for the boy to get within range, and when Cody was within he used the demon variation of flash step to jump above him, then he lashed the whip downward at Cody. However, it wasn't oriented as an attack. He used the fact that Cody's attack left an opening to attempt to wrap the thorned whip around Cody's right arm. If the attempt succeeded, Cody would be in for a lesson.

If the whip wrapped around the boy's arm, the thorns would pierce his skin. Kurama would then yank on the whip, pulling the boy toward him and knock him off balance. Once the boy was in close range, Kurama would bring his knee into the boy's gut and let him loose. If the attempted lock failed, it would either hit the boy like a normal whip attack, or it would miss and leave Kurama open for attack.
