• Appearance Description:
Zack has long, spiky black hair that reaches down to below his shoulders, and has a single lock hanging down in front of his face. The hair on top of his head seems somewhat longer than the hair on the sides of his skull, though this is just due to the fact that his hair steadily reaches out farther from his head the closer to the center it is. Zack's eyes are as blue as the clear sky on a sunny day, with a slight tinge of bright green within them.

Being both tall and well-built, Zack is a rather handsome individual. He stands at a towering six foot one, and thanks to his exercise regiment, weighs one hundred and eighty five pounds, most of which comes from his muscles. He has a young looking face, appearing to be in his early twenties. Notable features of his face include an 'X'-shapes scar on his left cheek, and of course his bright eyes. He usually wears a garment consisting of black boots, loose black pants, and a short-sleeved black shirt. The pauldrons on his shoulders are black as well, as are his leather gloves.

• Personality:

Zack has a strong attitude in most circumstances, strong enough to overpower other people's personalities, and is always perfectly willing to do work, though he isn't a huge fan of repetitive and/or menial tasks. Zack is very energetic, energetic to the point of earning him usually ridiculous or cute nicknames, which are usually related to puppies. Zack is very loyal to the Court Guard Divisions, especially the eleventh division where he makes his home, and constantly dreams of becoming a real, true hero to the world. Because of this, he constantly trains to get stronger, as well as consistently attempts to prove himself.

One of the largest and most important characteristics to Zack would have to be honor, and as such holds his own honor close to his heart. Zack fights to protect his honor, as well as his dreams, and during such fights he can become angry or annoyed by opponents who are not honorable at all, though he is still usually his happy-go-lucky, upbeat self. Zack is a bit of a ladies man, hitting on essentially all women he encounters as well as going so far as to ask them out even if he stands no chance. When it comes to food, Zack prefers meat, any and all meat. As a matter of fact, Zack is likely to eat himself into a meat-induced coma if he gets the chance. When it comes to his friends, Zack is willing to lay his life on the line in order to protect them, no matter what.

Zack has an indomitable will. This includes his use of it in combat, such as him taking lethal blows and still attempting to continue to fight against his enemy, no matter how out manned or outgunned he is. This is seen during his final fight as a human, when he faced off against a thousand professional soldiers and was able to defeat over a hundred of them, despite receiving multiple gun shot wounds before hand, as well as getting even more in order to take him down. Zack is the type of person to absolutely not give in until either A. His body shuts down or B. His goal is accomplished. When it comes to his friends, he would be willing to put his life on the line and do absolutely whatever is necessary, all thanks to his iron will and determination.

• History:

Zack Fair was born in a small town just outside the city of Osaka in Japan in the year 2341. His family wasn't neither poor nor rich, having a relatively average middle class household. He was an extremely energetic child, always getting into trouble by causing mischief and always playing one game or another. Even though he had a nice childhood and had friends and family, he was never content. Ever since a young boy he had dreamt of becoming a great hero, an objective he believed he could reach by joining the military, which he strived to do since he first came upon this goal.

Despite still being a child, Zack ran away from his childhood home at the age of thirteen in order to join the military, doing so without telling his parents prior yo the fact. Since he couldn't join the actual Japanese military due to their being an age limit, he could, however, join a private military that served a corporation as a trainee. Though young, he quickly began to rise through the ranks as years went by, getting both stronger and more well-known. He was getting closer to becoming a hero, as he always strived for. However, things began to go sour a few months after he turned nineteen years old.

After discovering the company had been committing war crimes by killing innocent people during their missions, Zack realized the company he worked for was turning him into a villain because they were evil. After obtaining this information, he promptly resigned from his position, left the company, and began to travel back to his home. However, because Zack had left at the same time a terrorist group began making trouble and causing problems for the company, Zack was suspected of being in cahoots with them, and as such was hunted down. A thousand soldiers were dispatched and ordered to exterminate Zack. The soldiers were able to reach him before he made it home, and quickly attacked him. Despite being massively out manned and outgunned, Zack still fought back because that is what a real hero would do: Not give up. Zack fought fiercely and ended up killing nearly a hundred and fifty soldiers single handedly before finally succumbing to his many bullet wounds. All together Zack had been shot twenty seven times before he was finally felled by the treacherous enemy.

After dying and becoming a plus, Zack quickly became a Shinigami by entering the academy. Though he failed in Kidō absolutely, he was still able to get through the academy due to his prowess as a fighter and his iron will. Zack pledged to become a hero through the Gotei Thirteen, and thus decided to join them. The division he set his eyes on attracted him not because the members and captain possessed monstrous killing intents, but because they were fierce fighters and were the types to never give in despite overwhelming opposition. Similar to how he rose through the ranks during his time as a human, he quickly became a seated member of Division Eleven, eventually reaching where he is now: the Fifth Seat of Division Eleven. He still seeks to better himself and to become a true Hero.

Durability: Zack is rather durable, as he has gone through all the necessary training to harden his skin, such as building up calluses on his body wherever possible. This means his skin itself is rather difficult to damage, especially his fists where he has undergone iron fist training so he can successfully hit objects, and people, without injuring himself. It should also be enjoyed that like many Shinigami, Zack uses his own spiritual pressure in order to harden his skin and make himself more difficult to cut or be injured by blunt force trauma. Because Zack is a physical fighter, and has completely failed in the use of Kidō, he has always worked to make his body as powerful as possible, in which his physical durability is a major part of.

Speed: Though not on the same level as his great physical strength, Zack is still rather fast thanks to the tremendous, constant training he puts himself through. If he is not working out his body in some way, he is most likely eating, and if he is not eating, he is most likely sleeping. Zack's relentless training system and schedule, as well as his dietary habits, have built up his body quite a bit. With Zack's strong legs, he is able to move rather quickly, being able to move much faster than a normal human ever could. When Zack swings his Zanpakutō, he not only swings it with great strength but great speed as well, being able to build up quite a bit of momentum to increase the overall damage of his blows.

Physical Strength: Perhaps one of Zack's best attributes is his physical strength. Even when he was alive, Zack used a sword as large as his Zanpakutō, but because it was a regular sword he felt the weight of the weapon when he carried it around. Despite it's hefty size and weight, both being equivalents to his own body, he was still able to use it quite efficiently, swinging it with control and precision. Since becoming a shinigami, his strength has only been further increased, especially thanks to his nigh-constant training in the Soul Society and in the Gotei 13. The fact that he is a seated member in Division 11 is testament to his high level of physical power.

Endurance: What sets Zack apart from most other combatants is not his strength, his speed, or anything similar to those. No, what Zack should most be known for is his tremendous, and rather frightening, endurance. Zack can continuously be pounded upon, he can receive major wounds and injures, and he can take an abnormally high amount of punishment and yet get back up again through pure power of will. In combat it will seem as though he just cannot be taken down as he will never give in until his body just won't move anymore. Right before Zack's death, he received over ten bullet wounds in a matter of seconds and yet still tried to fight back against his attackers. Even after he had lost consciousness, he was still standing, as he was subconsciously willing his body to go on despite everything that had happened to it.
