Zen stands at 6’0”. He has silver hair that reaches down to his shoulders. He has a fairly lithe build that tends to disguise his true physical strength. Even while in the Seretei he tends to wear a simple white, long sleeved, button down shirt, with semi-formal black pants, and black dress shoes. He often keeps his Zanpakutō in his right pocket for quick access. He has piercing blue eyes and a fairly calm, slightly soft voice. When he is giving orders his voice deepens and becomes commanding. When he gets angry, his eyes iris’ turn from blue, to deep red.

I. Personality


» Personality:

Zen is one of the calmest people you will find. Very few things, if anything no one has been successful yet, cause him to lose his cool. There is a rumor that when he loses his cool he might become as violent and unpredictable as a Kenpachi.

He enjoys keeping order and following the law to the best of his ability. He seeks to bring arguments to a quick and calm resolution, but he is willing to use force to restore order, starting with non-lethal, and using lethal force only when necessary, something his Zanpakutō allows him to do effectively.

He has enjoyed music since before his death. Spending so much time on Earth since the 1900’s his enjoyment of music has only increased. He can often be found in his music store selling instruments, old music formats, teaching classes, and sometimes preforming concerts for charities.

While he enjoys things to be orderly and lawful, he also enjoys seeing chaos ensue in certain situations. He knows that it is a part of nature, and only steps in to calm the satiation when it is getting out of hand.

Zen has another side to him, one that few see and live to tell the tale. Beneath the calm, relaxed façade hides a monster. While few things get under his skin, those that do, drive him mad. The switch on a much more sadistic side, a more authoritarian side. When he is in this state, though he is not in a blind rage, his attacks are much more forceful, his words commanding, he will do whatever it takes to have his target follow orders. His irises turn a crimson red when he is in this state.

Likes: Most music though he prefers classical. Sweets. Order. Deep down inside he likes to watch chaos unfold as he stays cool, calm and collected.

Dislikes: Metal music. Unregulated chaos.

I. History


» History: Zen was born in Paris, France a 24 years before the French Revolution to a wealthy aristocratic family to the name Roy Delacroix. Throughout his early years he had a great affinity towards everything that had to do with music and his parents greatly agreed to further his studies into the musical arts. At the age of 17 he was greatly known throughout Paris as a music prodigy and he became a man that everyone looked up to and many women wanted to marry. His parents arranged many women to date him hoping that he would propose to one but he never did. While he had great interests in them, he never felt the need to carry on the family line.

One day when he was tending to the rose garden in his own home, he discovered a man in the middle of the rosy briars. The man didn’t know how to speak, or do much of anything. He was quite tall and had red hair, the same color as a rose. The man seemed to learn how to do things quite quickly for someone who seemed to have been born recently. He decided to name the man Pierre d’laRose. Pierre was a fairly common French name, and D’laRose meant “from the rose”, quite appropriate from where he seemed to have been born out of. They spent quite a few years together, but fate had other plans.

The French Revolution had reached its peak, and the heads of the bourgeoisie must roll! While loved by many it was time for his death. While many were dragged to their deaths at the guillotine, Roy had accepted his fate years ago, back when the revolution started, he walked calmly and with purpose to la demi-lune. Many had attended his beheading, not in the traditional sense to be joyful at his death, but to solemnly mourn what was going to happen. Very few were allowed to speak much before their death, and even of those Roy’s words were different. “I stand here today to face the cards fate has dealt for me my friends! While today you may mourn the loss of a friend, a composer, a fellow Frenchman that while has not lived through your struggles understands your rage and why you must do this please do not mourn for long! I know that victory will soon be at your door, and that France will become the country you want it to be! One where everyone has the chance to live as freely as they desire and were the upper class doesn’t oppress the rest! If I have to sacrifice my life for the good of the country I gladly accept my fate! Au revoir mes amis, ma musique peuvent remplir vos cœurs jusqu'à la fin des temps.
Not long after his death he ended up where many spirits do, Rukongai. It was so alien to him. He remembered his entire life, here it was very different from what life was in France, regardless of what class he was there. Even here he was fairly well off being in a Fifth district. He was fairly well known for being calm and fair. People always felt at ease when he was around, many of the more elderly residents claiming that his soul was as pure as freshly fallen snow.

While he did have a calming aura due to his personality, his spiritual aura was slightly more dangerous. He had so much energy within his own soul that his spirit pressure did cause issues for those that were too close to Zen. This caused him to live more or less alone. While he did have friends, they needed to keep their distance physically or else they might get hurt. For someone that remembered being alive trying to grasp the concept of controlling this energy was foreign to him. It wasn’t uncommon for people around him to become stunned or feel pain when he wasn’t paying close attention to it. This obviously drew some complaints to those that did not know he had this issue, and on several occasions the authorities were called. While it wouldn’t have taken too long for his power to have been brought to the attention of Shinigami, scared residents running away when they see him and some getting hurt just expedited the process.

Being told that he should apply to the Shino Academy several times during these, he thought it would be worth at least a try. He didn’t know what to expect for the entrance exam, he didn’t know much beyond controlling his own reiatsu to a limited degree, if they asked for anything else he would likely fail. The test was not difficult at all. It just consisted of proving he had an appropriate level of reiatsu and that he could control it. He passed with fairly high marks. While he did have quite a high level of reiatsu; so much that once he let go of his concentration, he stunned some of the Shinigami administering the test. He apologized to no end for this, he didn’t mean to do it, but it was alright, they told him that the fact that he could hold back some of that energy being dead for only a few years was quite amazing. He held a lot of potential inside of his body, and that being in the academy would greatly improve his abilities.

He had a very strong connection with his Zanpakutō spirit. He could go into the inner world and spend time with it, but the spirit never said a word. It’s not like he wasn’t able to. He could communicate with Zen, he just wasn’t talking to him. Their relationship was similar to a teacher and student. His spirit taught him how to do things without speaking, using gestures and music to communicate with Zen. It took a while to understand it, but Zen got it. It still frustrated that it wouldn’t speak back! He wanted to understand why he coudlnt control his sword, but every time he asked his spirit just motioned to Zen “It’s a secret” or “Soon” but that didn’t mean anything to Zen, it wasn’t an answer. This frustrated him to no end. He needed to go out and get some fresh air sometimes.

Often he went out to the calm forests to try and get his sword strikes in order. One day he came across a beautiful lake. The waters were calm and reflected light almost as if it was a mirror on the ground. What he found even more interesting is that sounds that happened around it were amplified and there was minimal interference. It was as if the lake was a giant amplifier. He was so interested in it that he decided to go to the center of the lake and try it out himself, essentially forgetting that he was here to practice. He had no instruments to test out the lake with, but every musician knows they always have an instrument on them, their voices. While not the best singer Zen wasn’t horrible. He closed his eyes and started to sing.

What he heard was amazing. The surrounding area filled with his voice. It resonated and reflected inside the lake, amplifying it and filling miles around with his voice. This place was perfect. He felt so serene. Suddenly he felt his own reishi spike. In front of him stood a man wearing a pure white suit with a red tie. Zen instantly knew who this was. It was the spirit of his Zanpakutō. They had met before in his inner world, but the man never spoke. At the time it was mildly understandable, but as it kept going on it was frustrating. Finally, the man spoke “It seems you found your own voice.” The spirit said. Zen was confused about it, find his own voice, what did that mean. “You came here to train your sword skills. But you left that behind and found something you were good at. Something we are both good at.” Zen felt the need to pull out his Zanpakutō and hold it in front of his spirit. They both held it, and Zen finally learned his Zanpakutō’s name. He nodded at Aurora and said “Command! Aurora!”

The area was filled with a brilliant blue light, his spirit pressure pushing the water away from where he was standing. In his hands, instead of a sword, was a medium length conductor’s baton. It was simple. Dark blue with some silver bands along the bottom, middle and tip. He was surprised at what he was holding. Now it made sense why he was so bad at Zanjutsu! He wasn’t going to need it! Though his spike in pressure did set of some alarms, so he was surrounded by 4 Shinigami who promptly took him back to the Academy.
After a few days his Zanpakutō hadn’t changed back to its sword form. This meant it was one of the few constant release zones. This usually meant that the owner had great spiritual power, but at the same time it could also mean that they couldn’t control it, shown by the inability to revert it back to a lower power state. Regardless of that fact, he still released his Shikai, putting him far ahead of what other students could do.

Zen as stationed in squad 13, having graduated from the academy fairly soon after unlocking his shikai. He was stationed in different locations of the human world, rotating between cities that were having hollow problems, as with his shikai he could quickly dispatch of any low level problems. Though he did find it strange that no matter where he went there were a significantly higher quantity of hollows, and they were getting stronger. He also noticed that Shinigami stationed in the human world were also going missing as of late, which was even stranger. Those in the squad were strong enough to take care of the regular hollows that came to Earth and there were not reports of anything too strong, so them dying in combat would be highly unlikely. He wanted to ask his captain about this but he was always out on missions and could not be reached via other means of communication.

One day the captain asked several members, to go meet him out in a cave, which was a fair distance from the Seretei and populated areas of the Rukongai. The closer they got to the cave Zen felt the presence of hollows. A large number of them, but he couldn’t pinpoint any of them. It got stronger and stronger as they went into the cave, where they saw the captain standing infront of an open Garganta.

Everyone was surprised at the sight, but before any of them hollows jumped out of the portal and took them by surprise. That had all been attacked by one, with the exception of Zen, who blasted one with sound, causing it to disintegrate in the air. The rest of the group was dead, the hollows eating their bodies, consuming their energy. The captain had a sullen look on his face, saying to Zen that he broke orders by not feeding the hollows. Failing to follow the direct commands of a captain is insubordination and he had to be punished for it. The hollows that had come from the Garganta ran over to the captain as they began to melt and the dark energy they released covered the captain’s body. An insane laugh filled the cave as the captains body was distorted and mutated. He no longer was a Shinigami. Before Zen stood a giant hollow. Its giant bony mask like face staring down at him, its mouth dripping with hunger. Zen’s instinctive nature was to flash step away, if he had to fight it was not going to be inside of this cave.

The moment Zen was outside he took out his Zanpakutō and sent out a sonic message to the Seretei, asking for assistance as he had encountered a very strong hollow. It was going to take time for help to arrive, he had to fight it alone for the moment. He did recognize the area he was in, the lake with good acoustics was near here. The hollow followed him, firing cero and bala as he did, but zen was fast enough to doge out of the way as he made it to the lake he was looking for. One he got to the lake the former captain talked to him in a voice filled with madness. He asked Zen what he thought he was going to do, he wasn’t strong enough to win. He offered him a choice. He could join him as a hollow, or die due to his insubordination, he was still his captain, he had to follow orders, and Zen had to follow orders.

Zen was indeed conflicted about having to follow orders, but he was not obligated to follow someone’s specific orders. A buzzing sound filled the air, it was the sound of static noise. Zen’s reiatsu started to show, it was sky blue, and looked like the visual representation of the noise, static. The color started to change though. The blue was starting to darken, turning redder and redder, until it was a brilliant crimson color. The static noise was amplified by the lake bellow, now it could be heard for miles around, and the hollow grabbed its head as the volume was unbearable and pain inducing. Zen chuckled as he opened his eyes slightly, his irises the same crimson color as his aura. He told the captain that he wasn’t going to follow his orders. He no longer was his captain, and that Zen was the one that was going to dictate what was going to happen from now on between them.

Zen heard Tenmei’s voice telling him to call out his real name. It was the time to unleash his real power and bring order to those that dare defy him, those that would dictate their own laws and orders above his own. Zen smirked as he whispered “Bankai.” At that moment the static ended as the crimson energy covered Zen’s body. His spiritual pressure went over the roof, this was at the same time that members from squad 11 reached the area, they stopped right at the clearing as they were stricken with fear. The hollow was also stricken with fear as that is what Zen’s pressure commanded. Zen didn’t look any different, but his Zanpakutō was now heavily ornate.

Zen flash stepped directly in front of the hollow and released a flurry of blows at him. Zen was not skilled in zanjutsu, but he was exceptionally good at hakuda. He tore into the hollows body, blood spraying all over his body, his hands covered in it. He gave an upper cut sending the hollow flying into the sky. As he did his Zanpakutō was covered in his red reiatsu, it solidified into a short, but sharp, blade. He quickly reached the hollow and started to tear into him again, this time his hakuda translating into his short sword, slashing and goring the hollow. Its body parts falling down onto the lake, staining it red with its blood. At the end of this assault there was nothing left of the hollow except its head. It fell to the ground. Zen landed next to it as he glared down at it and pointed his Zanpakutō at it. He said to it “Insubordination” before blasting it with sound, causing the mask to shatter.

The squad around him had seen the entire battle, if one could call it that. The captain of the 11th squad was also present and approached Zen. He took Zen to the captain commander and explained what he had seen Zen do. At this point Zen had calmed down, his eyes no longer red, his aura calm. The captain commander asked to be left alone with Zen. He asked him to explain wat had happened, and Zen explained everything that he had seen. The murder of his squad members and the hollowfication of the captain. The commander looked at Zen and asked him to never reveal the hollowfication incident to anyone. Zen agreed to that order. After the meeting he was placed as the Captain of the squad 13, as there were few members left and he was deemed the most capable of doing the job.

His stay as captain wasn’t long, only lasting a few years. It’s not that he didn’t like the job, but he just didn’t want to continue in his position. He wanted to relax and live a normal life. Though he still wanted to keep the world safe. He went to the commander and asked if he could go live in the human world. He explained how he felt and that he was still willing to help the Gotei when needed. This came as a surprise as no one had asked for this type of request before. At first the commander was reluctant to allow him to live in the human world, but a deal was struck, he would live in the human world for one normal human lifetime, and return to the seretei for 50 years, to ensure that his identity would not be revealed to humans.

While in the human world one day he found something interesting. In the dusk hours he saw something glowing in an alley way. He took a look inside to find a large crystal rosebud that radiated a large amount of spirit energy. He got closer to see that someone, or something was inside of it. It seemed to be a small man, but upon closer inspection it was an arrancar. An arrancar in the city? Sleeping? That was odd. Though he did get a sense of familiarity. It had been so long. He got close and used his own spirit pressure to melt away the crystal structure. As it melted the man inside woke up. His first instinct was to cower in the spot he was in. After a few moment the man started to cry and ran up and hugged Zen. The arrancar cried into him and said he was happy that Zen-san had found him. That’s a name he hadn’t heard in a long time. Few people had ever called him that. Zen looked down and tiled the Arrancar face to look at him. Past the tears and the pieces of broken mask, the face was familiar. He recognized him, it was Viz. Viz used to be a Shinigami, but had decided to side with Aizen many years ago. Viz told his story, to how Aizen had taken advantage and turned him into an Arrancar, how he escaped and waited there for someone to find him.

Zen didn’t know what to do. Viz was an arrancar, but he didn’t seem like he was evil. He was scared and just wanted to be safe. With a sigh he decided to help Viz by letting live him in his house. Slowly word did get out that Viz was there, and that he was an arrancar. At first it was quite troublesome as people were assholes and didn’t understand, but as time went on Zen helped Viz and others understand the situation, so that Viz could be safe.

Centuries passed in the human world and as humans became more spiritually aware and events passed Zen did not need to hide any longer. He did not need to fake his identity and split his time between the human world and the gotei. He now had the life that he wanted, to live in the human world and still work for the seretei, his own rules. Eventually the Gotei restructured itself, and as such they were looking for people who were capable enough to become captains of now much larger branches of the organization.

» Zanpakutô Name: Tenmei

» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Tenmei is a man dressed in a completely white suit with a red tie. He stands at a height similar to Zen’s with short brown hair and red eyes. For the first few meetings he was completely silent. When Zen awakened his Shikai he heard Tenmei’s voice, which was deep and commanding.

Tenmei is also known for manifesting himself more often than other Zanpakutō spirits (more detail in the Shikai section).

» Inner World: Their inner worlds is an empty gold stage surrounded by darkness. A spotlight shines on them when they are in it.

» Zanpakutô Appearance: Currently none. It is a constant release Zanpakutō, it lost its sword form when Zen first released it. (Current apperence in Shikai section)

I. Shikai


» Shikai Release Phrase: Command! Aurora! (Meijiru! Tenmei!)

» Shikai Appearance: After saying his release phrase his sword completely disappears and the hilt of his sword transforms into a conductors baton. The baton is a deep blue color, almost black. It measures 15 inches in length

» Shikai Abilities:

Manifestation: Tenmei can willingly manifest himself outside of the inner world. While all Zanpakutō spirits have this ability, he does it relatively frequently in comparison. He often comes out when he pleases, depending on the situation. Sometimes he just wants to be outside, sometimes he wants to keep Zen company, sometimes he wants to chime in on a conversation in an external manner, and in dire situations when Zen can’t act for himself.

When in battle Tenmei has the same abilities detailed in this and the Bankai section, and always acts as if he was in Bankai, regardless of whether if Zen has activated it in battle or not. Tenmei will only be in battles if Zen has gotten to a state where he cannot fight but is not unconscious. An example of it would be when Zen was in a fight with Hisao, and he could not move without having dealing damage to himself, essentially being paralyzed, but in that case, Zen asked for the help, before it was provided.
Tenmei can only provide assistance ONCE per thread. The duration of this cannot exceed 5 posts, but if he sustains a large amount of damage, or if he willingly returns to the Zanpakutō, he cannot participate in the battle again. This also counts if he is outside of the Zanpakutō before a battle starts in a thread.

While Tenmei is outside, Zen’s Zanpakutō abilities’ power are cut by 3/4 and he cannot access Bankai. The only exception to this is the Arpeggio ability. The cost of merged kido goes up 4x.

Order: Zen’s Zanpakutō focuses on maintaining order, and more importantly the order Zen wants others to follow. This has manifested itself in the way of music, no matter how disorganized a piece of music sounds there are underlying rules that allow the music to be played. He uses some of those rules as his abilities to maintain order as the conductor of the battle field.
Sound Manipulation: Zen can create sounds around him and fights with sound. The manipulation can work in various ways. He can create normal sounds within the area that his Illuminacion affects, that is these sounds don’t have any effect that normal sound wouldn’t have. They can range from a pin dropping to that of an entire orchestra playing. In a similar way he can manipulate already existing sounds. For example, he could make someone voice sound different after their words leave their mouth, even going as far as making their words make no sound at all. Creating and manipulating sounds in this way does not require much, if any energy on his part.

One step above is taking sounds and making them dangerous in a non “supernatural” way This means he can take sounds and make them dangerous based on their normal properties, such as volume, frequency, direction, speed, and pressure. By affecting volume, he can take even the quiet drop of a pin and turn it into an ear-splitting sound. Changing its frequency Zen can turn a dangerous high-volume sound into something that is inaudible, thus causing the effects of his non-visible sounds to seem to come from nowhere. This means that he can create infra and ultrasound. While infrasound is relatively harmless, the ultrasonic vibrations can be used to create vicious vibrations that can make even the sturdiest materials crumble, though it might take some time if it was made by a very good crafter (This is further explained in Timbre). An effect that this ultrasound can do is cavitation, which is voids that quickly pressurize causing extreme pressure and heat, resulting in a shockwave. This does not happen unless he uses ultrasound for a long period of time, and it can occur randomly. When changing direction Zen can move the sound in his area of influence, changing its trajectory. When this happens the sound forms into a semi visible stream, as the forced air distorts and bends light slightly. Changing the speed that which the sound travels, by itself doesn’t do much besides slowing down or speeding up the sound wave, but when combined with pressure is when things get different. When Zen changes the pressure at which the sound travels this increases the force that it has, essentially making sound a powerful force. When changing the pressure and speed of sound Zen can create wind, ranging from a gentle breeze to powerful gales. While not too complicated or taxing, using these abilities, such as creating a sustained gale, can slowly drain his energy.

Things start to get more draining when Zen creates his own waves to fight with. While he can control waves inside of his Illuminacion, when it comes to creating his own attack sounds he is limited to an area of 100 feet around his body. The waves can be pointed in any direction, but they are limited to 4 types: sphere, line, cone, and blade. They each have their own properties. Sphere creates an orb of sound around Zen. This orb can range in size from 10 feet in diameter, to 100 feet. A line burst can reach up to 250 feet away but can only be up to 10 feet wide. A cone can travel 100 feet and progressive gets larger as it travels, reaching a maximum of 50 feet wide. Blades are compressed waves of sound that Zen can control throughout his Illuminacion. Cone and sphere waves become weaker the more that they travel, only being 1/4 of their original strength when at their maximum reach. Line waves don’t lose their strength, but they can only be fired in one direction, and after being fired Zen cannot change its direction. Blades do not lose their strength, but Zen must concentrate on controlling them to keep moving them.

He does not need to be entirely focused to use this ability, but the more complex actions he takes the less he can concentrate on abilities that require concentration, such as Arpeggio.

Tempo Strike: With his sword gone Zen has focused on Hakuda, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t use his Zanpakutō as a dagger. By covering it in air and spirit energy he creates a very sharp blade. He basis his skill with this weapon off his Hakuda skill instead of Zanjutsu.

Iluminacion: This ability spreads out 500 feet around Zen. He can create touchable, semi-solid illusions. They are mostly used for Zen’s performances, but it can be used in battle to disorient opponents. An example would be him creating a wall, that feels like a wall, but when you apply any sort of extra pressure one would go through it.

This ability is mainly passive. The sphere of influence does not carry any constraints to maintain as, in essence, is just an area of effect. He can maintain only one or two illusions at a time. The size of one illusion cannot surpass 100 feet, total. That is he could make a 50 foot, by 50 foot wall (this has an area greater than 100 feet, but in this case what matter is distance over substance). He can combine illusions to make a larger one, but there will be a small, visible, gap between them. When someone, or something passes through and breaks the illusion it cannot be used for 2 posts. If they break just one Zen would only be able to use one illusion. An illusion cannot be changed during the same post, if Zen wishes to change it, he has to wait until he is in a new post to do so.

Illusions do not have to be singular objects. He could create hundreds or thousands of a single object if it is small enough. He could create 100 6 by 6 inch butterflies and have them fly around the area of effect.

Bianca: Condenses reiatsu in front of Zen to create a white shield in front of him that absorbs the next attack so that it deals only half of its damage. If Zen is much stronger than his opponent, it can negate the attack.

The shield is composed of standing wave. This wave arises when he opposes the resonance of his own spirit pressure with a sound wave. The wave is completely stationary, creating a strong, stable shield. When compared to Bakudo this would be in the range of #30. An attack that surpasses that level of strength passes through the barrier at half strength. If the attack surpasses #60 it bypasses the shield completely.

This ability can only be used every 4 posts. While it does not consume much internal energy, it does decrease his spirit pressure. After 4 posts his spirit pressure returns to his usual level.

Bemol: Zen fires a small orb of concentrated spirit energy that, if it hits its intended target they are shrouded by Zen’s spirit pressure. Due to this strong oppressive force it has similar effects to being in very close proximity to Zen. While its main purpose is to decrease the power of Kido by 5 numbers (thus turning a #20 to a #15, an essentially making anything less than #5 not work), it can cause effects such as fear, paralysis, stunning and pain. Since he still controls this pressure, he can attempt to make opponents feel these effects at will. The effects of this attack are dependent on the spirit pressure of the opponent. If they have a pressure greater than Zen’s the effects are much weaker, if it even works at all. If it works, it lasts for 2 posts. A target affected by this has a “b” hovering over their head.

This takes 5% of his internal energy to use. While it may not be a lot, due to his large internal reservoir, to some this amount of energy could be overwhelming. He can use this ability 2 posts after the effect ends, or 2 posts if he misses.

Sharp: Similar to Bemol, but it works in the opposite manner. In this case the energy that he sends out adds to the target’s own energy pool, strengthening their kido by 5, and increasing their spirit pressure for 2 posts. Other than that, it works the same as Bemol. A target affected by this has “#” over their head. He cannot use it on himself.

Staccato: Zen forms small orbs of spirit energy and sound at the tip of his baton and fires them in rapid succession. The rate of fire is 300 RPS (18,000 RPM) but the orbs do almost negligible damage on their own, but they have decent knockback if the target is hit constantly by them. This ability does not take much concentration to hold for a long period of time, for a maximum of 2 posts. He can use other abilities while he maintains this ability going. After he uses this continuously it has a cool down period of 1 post.

Tenuto: Zen creates slow moving bars of sound energy that home in on a target. While slow when they come into contact they create a deafening boom that causes moderate amounts of damage. If they do not hit something after 2 posts they will explode wherever they are.



Timbre: This gives Zen an acute sense of hearing, which allows him to be able to hear things from miles away, if he focuses on it. With even greater focus he could identify the resonance of objects.

An objects resonance depends on the material it is made from. When an object is exposed to a wave that has the same resonance it begins to sake violently and eventually break, shatter, or fall apart. The simplest example of this is when an opera singer hits the right pitch and shatters a glass. Objects of poor quality break much easier than those of higher quality. The better quality the object is the longer it takes for it to break, in some cases it could even be impossible to break them. Objects do not need to be exposed continuously to the sound wave to break, as each time they are exposed they take some damage. When the object breaks is subjective to its quality. An example would be that it would take less than one post for Zen to shatter a tree, a low-quality sword would take about the same time, while a Zanpakutō could take from 10 to 30 posts of constant exposure to break. Bankai cannot be broken using this ability.
Arpeggio: It allows Zen to use more than one Kido at the same time often causing them to combine into a kido that has the properties of the two or three kido used at the time. The incantation of the kido is spliced together to make a new incantation. Splicing kidos in this way require twice, or three times as long for it to be cast, leaving him open while he casts it. This also averages their level. If he wanted to combine #1 with #50, the resulting kido would be equal in strength to #25.

When combining them he cannot combine kido outside of their own class, he cannot combine Hadō with bakudo, though he can combine bakudo with healing kido if they have an area effect. He can attempt to combine kido that oppose each other, such as fire and water, but this has a high chance of failure. If he can combine them the kido created creates something new, such as mixing fire and water kido to make steam kido. Doing this takes concentration, the more kido he tries to combine, the more focus he has to have. He has been able to combine as much as 4 kido at one time. Combining Hadō is more complicated due to their more unpredictable nature. Bakudo are easier to combine as they are very structured and orderly.

Using this ability to splice two kido comes at an extra cost. When splicing 3 kido the number increases by 5 in cost, when splicing 4 it takes 10 more. When putting the kido together the energy goes up respectively depending of the average that is created. The energy needed to create the kido is 2x, 3x, or 4x the average cost. If he were to merge Hadō #10 and #20 it would cost 2x what #15 would be, but the strength would be equivalent to #15. If he were to combine #30, #40, #10, and #20 it would have the average power of #25, to that you add 10, so it becomes a #35, and then it becomes 35x4= 140. As the last example shows, the more kido are used the more diminishing returns you get, due to having a very high cost, but if the kido used include very low numbers the resulting kido would be fairly weak compared to the energy put into it.


Fermata: Using a combination of reiatsu and sound Zen creates a loud blast around him. Most projectiles that are in within 5 feet of Zen stop moving for 1 post. This effect follows him. If he moves from the position the projectiles will move once more, and any projectile he tries to send out are also stopped, meaning he cannot use projectile attacks for one post.
This blast actually indicates that he has essentially frozen his spirit pressure closest to his body. This ability locks him into place for the post, not being able to move via conventional means. The only way for him to exit this area is to flash step out of it, but doing so could cause him to take some damage from the projectiles. It has a cooldown of 1 post.

This ability is based off his Kido skill level. Those above his level, or its equivalent for other races, have no trouble bypassing this barrier.


I. Bankai


» Bankai Release Phrase: Obey! Shining Aurora!

» Bankai Appearance: Regardless of what he was wearing before his outfit changes into a white suit with a red tie, much like what Tenmei wears. His conducturs baton turns a deep red and his aura color changes to red.

» Bankai Abilities:

Concerto: Zen can now use his sound attacks from an origin point that is not him. He can create attacks that originate from an area within his Illuminacion range (500 feet). They still travel in the same shapes, but those that have a cone or line shape can be positioned at different angles.

Sound Cannon: Zen can capture non-physical attacks and fire them back. He does this by creating a circular wall of reiatsu and compressed air in front of him. This stops the attack and then Zen can release it forward. He can do this to absorb several attacks, but it has some drawbacks. While he does this he becomes immobile, as he has to lock himself in place to absorb he knockback from attacks as they suddenly stop. While there is no limit on how many attacks he can stop, the more attacks that he stops increase the load, eventually attacks can overload his ability to stop them, causing them to release their energy wildly around the area, hurting Zen and firing the energy randomly.

Crescendo: A cone shaped blast of reiatsu that empowers kido, and other reiatsu based attacks that travel in this area. This area is a 50 foot cone. Any spirit based attack that enters it is empowered by 1/3.

Diminuendo: Works in a similar way to Crescendo. This time he uses his spirit pressure to degrade kido that are targeting him. It travels in a cone shaped wave that reached out to 50 feet. Due to this shift in pressure, while this ability is used his back is exposed to attacks as his defenses are focused on his front. Strength of those attacks is reduced by 1/2.

This only affects attacks that are below his own Kido skill. Those at and above his skill are affected minimally, but are still affected by it to a small degree.
Simile: Zen can attempt to copy kido used by others to negate them. This mainly works for kido that he has already learned, that is he cannot cancel a kido that he hasn’t seen before. If he wants to cancel it, he must take some time to learn a bit about it. If he sees a new kido it takes 3 posts to be able to copy it, and 6 posts to be able to cancel it. This only works for kido that are open to everyone. It does not work for kido made specifically, or only known by one or a few select characters.


Marcato: V shaped projectiles composed of reiatsu and sound fly out and travel at a high speed and on contact creates 10 foot wide explosions. This is similar to Staccato. Its fire rate is much slower at 10RPS (60 RPM). The projectiles hae the strength of bullets, but their 10 foot explosions do not cause much damage, they essentially just create large knockback.

Silencio: Sound based attacks have a reduced effect on Zen. The strength of these attacks is reduced by 1/3.

Fortissimo: If Zen makes an attacks and yells fortissimo the effectiveness of the attack raises by 2x. This makes him give out a burst of energy, leaving him tired for 1 post after using this ability. Doing this makes the Kido cost 2.5x its original cost.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

» Brash: Much like how he joked about being a phoenix Alastor's got the hot head to match those flames. He's quite cocksure to say the least. He comes off as a trouble maker and quite rude to his peers. Obnoxiously getting in your face and probably at the worst of times he's not really liked that much amongst the Gotei United. Fortunately his overconfident nature makes him happy to operate within the dangerous confines of Europe although this is mainly due to growing up and living there in the first place and he wouldn't take anywhere else that was offered to him. He's got a pretty high opinion of himself to say the least. Not that he thinks he can take out a captain and live to tell about it but amongst his peers Alastor has a pretty good idea that he could take on most of them pretty easily.

» Selfless: Don't get the guy wrong. He's overconfident but he'd sacrifice himself in a heartbeat for something if he thought it was necessary. Alastor is willing to hand out some of his rations to someone else that needs it at the cost of his reputation as much as he'll just use it to fuel his blazing ego even more to those that want to bring it up. It's not something he likes to be discussed, especially since it comes off as just decency and what he'd expect from anyone, it gives him a surprisingly modest approach to his selfless attitude to where he actively avoids being acknowledged for his actions. He's not looking for a promotion after all. He's pretty content.

» Insubordinate: He sees something that he feels he just has to do and you tell him no? Well that's just a straight up invitation for Alastor to dive head first into it. That's just the kind of character he is. He has very little respect for authority, this isn't a disrespect to the person but if he feels the person above him giving the orders is a total douche then he's just not going to listen to that order in particular. He lives by the rule that you can always beg for forgiveness and it's easier than asking for permission. Alastor's quite the handful to his superiors, it's probably a good thing that he enjoys spending so much time on Earth as opposed to Soul Society where he just makes people want to tear their hair out.

» Thrill Seeker: Adding to that list of probably negative traits to his name the guy loves his thrills. Whether it's training and clashing with others or riding a roller-coaster he is very extroverted and loves to try new things as risky as they may be. He's got a bucket list with things ranging from beating a captain in a fight to getting with a Suika. These challenges all are important to him because it gives him the thrill of being alive which as someone who has almost died before it is a good reminder to him that he is still here and breathing. Never one to disregard a challenge he's always down to jump headfirst in a dangerous situation. It can attribute towards his choice in patrolling Europe.

» Player: Going with his extroverted nature Alastor finds a great deal of entertainment in taking his chances with the ladies of Soul Society. Whenever he's off-duty he's either sleeping, training or looking for his next score. There's a certain challenge towards it and he enjoys such a thing in his life. He's not looking for long term with these ventures nor even to brag about it to anyone he'd call his friend. He just credits it to his age and being a strapping young lad is all. What's a guy gonna do in his off time? Gawk at his captain like a loser? That's not his style. If anything he'd feel more inclined to try his luck.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Where does Alastor's story start? That's a pretty easy question to answer. Alastor's family is a group of humans that migrated from Scandinavia one hundred years ago to live in France. Over time their name shifted to better fit the country but their red hair is a trait that refuses to leave their genes being surprisingly dominant. This red hair stems from their familial trait: Boiling Blood. The family made their way by carving out their land, acknowledging that it was indeed still Shadow Falls but any wandering demon was indeed brought down to their knees and killed if they even thought about trying to slide into this land.

He was raised by his mother Maria de Maris and his father Jean de Maris. From a young age he was raised outside. There was very little technology where he was from. Instead he worked those fields and trained from a young age. This wasn't because his family refused to partake in technology but the use of it conflicts with their genetic traits that made it unacceptable for his family and so they remained hard at work.

The woodlands and fields were his friends, fighting with his brother and playing with a makeshift sword was his pastime. You could almost forget that this was the Twenty-Fifth Century by living the de Maris lifestyle. From growing up this way his natural abilities awakened and grew, it wasn't a conscious thing. A lot of these traits didn't actually manifest as tangible effects like manipulating things and all these spiffy powers that others had. Something he didn't even know existed as a boy.

When he was eight he saw his first hollow. It had wandered in looking for food and in that same day he watched the first case of human death in his life. The hollow was quickly dispatched but somehow the acid it got on one of his father's friends killed him. It was a new experience there was so much to consider. He saw the use of his family's powers for the first time in a fight, he watched a man die and he got to see a hollow. Alastor felt this creature was evil or at the very least something you've got to put down. He didn't understand why a creature would just come and kill someone his family cared about.

It was this experience that lead to Alastor and his older brother to fight more and practice in their fighting as opposed to the light-hearted spats they'd normally indulge in. There was a grimness to these interactions which were more serious. He was never as good as his brother who had more time to develop their family trait. At the same time though it accelerated both of their developments. At the back of his mind he always knew another hollow would come but he wanted to be ready for it.

Nighttime a few months later would be the next strike by the foul creatures. He was ready this time though. He and his brother got up and joined the clash. Strangely something else made this situation different. A man in black robes slid into the scene and struck at the beast. Effectively killing it so efficiently it was majestic for him to witness. Despite this so called killing stroke the shinigami did there was an action almost like a reflex that had the hollow pierce through the body of the shinigami and Alastor who was standing not far behind him.

It was dark but what happened next was done off instinct, seeing the shinigami tense at the last minute as if to react to the hollow he let a brutal punch with all his power to the shinigami's chest out of belief he was turning onto them. It was a simple mistake, a rash one made by an inexperienced boy. His father pulled them both apart and tried to tend to Alastor. There seemed no way to save him. The shinigami acknowledging that both of them were going to die anyway leaned forward and stopped resting on his sword to impale the young Alastor's chest and transfer his reiryoku into him and try to save his life while dying after a few more seconds.

His family were distraught, none expected the shinigami to do the killing blow but after dying so quickly after it became apparent that Alastor was not dead. He was very much alive and well albeit in spiritual form and confused, his family thought so too. After a quick panic and believing he was dead he tried stuffing himself back into his body which worked to say the least. He was very much alive.

It was to be expected that men in black would show up when their comrade had not returned and in doing so they found the young Substitute Shinigami. Overpowering his family they took the red-head substitute and beat him unconscious before taking him to the Soul Society. He was the age of fourteen. Still very young and confused at the clinical surroundings he was presented with.

Alastor was given a run down of what happened, how he was beaten into submission by the shinigami and brought here. There was a question of what exactly was to happen to the young man. After much consideration he was offered the option to be trained as a shinigami in the Shin'o Academy. He agreed on the condition he be allowed to return to his family periodically.

Thus began the young man's education. He began learning traits such as kido, hoho and zanjutsu. Hakuda came more easily but all these fancy things were a struggle. The first time he actually got shunpo to work he kissed a wall and ended up with a broken nose. His first attempt at kido using Hadō #1 Sho sent him flying backwards into another wall. It was not the easiest of years for him but after spending four years of being in the academy he was finally deemed to be actually quite competent despite the rough beginning to his training.

He quickly was assigned into a division which allowed him to travel. Opting to take care of Europe and that general area. The request was not something they often received considering it was extremely dangerous but they decided to give the cocksure red-head his shot there. After the Gotei United took hold and grew he didn't really know what to do or where to go. He just stuck himself on Earth mostly until he got word of a new division lead by a new captain. It was just his thing and after getting there she was pretty cute too.

NATURAL SKILLS

» Raw Energy: The energy of Alastor is quite strong. It's not necessarily as large as you'd expect for such power but it's incredibly dense and smothering for his calibre. An example of this is where it would potentially feel like moving through a thick veil when entering its range if he were to release it. It can make otherwise graceful movements slightly off from the resistance but it is also quite negligible for someone of his tier. It would only truly present itself with a considerable gap in power between him and those affected. His raw energy isn't easy to control or manipulate, which makes kido quite painful. If something is straightforward then it's pretty easy but when something requiring more precision is required then it really begins to show with his poor quality.

» Martial Expert: A skilled swordsman. It's probably considered to be Alastor's best quality about his skill. He's no Musashi Miyamoto or Kojiro Sasaki-level swordsman but he aspires to be and works towards it. He has graceful and precise strikes with his sword show his work into the art but at the same time he does not hold back with power. Being able to shift his graceful style to something using raw power in an instant if he requires such a thing. His hand-to-hand is also not something to dismiss, growing up with his brother he fought and clashed a lot which honed his form and technique. There is no particular style to his combat with his body, just something he developed when he sought to beat his brother.

» Unimpressive Magic: Pretty bad in the grand scheme of things. His magic isn't absolutely garbage but techniques that are very simplistic in application like Shakkaho, which is just make fireball and throw, is quite simply and works very well. The same for anything that really just involves blowing something up. Now getting into the technical spells or modified kido? He is quite awful at those kind of areas within Kido.

» Technology Dunce: Never grew up with it and knows how to use it superficially. He is not a tech guy and would sooner beat a computer for frustrating him than try to figure it out. Technology is for nerds in his book and he's not a nerd so he'll leave it to the smarter people. He wants to rely on his own power anyway. Not these cheap gimmicks that people make.

UNIQUE ABILITIES

» Boiling Blood: His familial trait that labelled him a supernatural human before he became a shinigami. His family's ability stems from their energy having a certain heat to it. It can feel incredibly hot and be difficult to be within if the target is significantly weaker than Alastor's own power. The important thing to note is though that this is not directly an effect caused from his energy, the phenomenon can be transferred to his energy as a medium. This heat is closer to something based off their mentality and will, this is why a lot of the de Maris tend to be hot-headed, these psychological traits are very important to make the heat effect become stronger, otherwise it doesn't develop as fast and only relies on getting stronger by the user's body being worked and strengthened through exertion and effort.

» Ignition: Alastor possesses an ability called ignition. He generates the heat effect of his boiling blood within his hand before being able to ignite it into a flame. This fire is independent from oxygen meaning it can exist within water and on top of water, while being unable to be stopped by being smothered as traditional fire can. He can use this to toss out fireballs, coat his blade in fire or create basic effects with its shape but like Kido he is very inept at this. It's easier to just lob a huge bunch of fire at his target and incinerate it.

» Afterburner: The second ability that Alastor currently possesses using his family's ability. By gathering and storing the heat within his body he is able to make his body exceptionally hot to come into contact with and enhance his physical combat. The true function of the ability is not actually to make his body super hot. The true nature of afterburner is to be able to regenerate wounds by serving as a catalyst to promote rapid cell growth in his body at the cost of the energy stored. Once he has something more than a few scratches healed such as a deep wound or something serious then his energy will be sealed off for three posts. This cannot regenerate entire limbs but can assist in organ damage with the exception of the brain.

NATURAL/RACIALS ABILITIES


Natural Talent: One of the most important parts of Kitarune's skill set is her natural talent, particularly in swordsmanship in her human life, and, during the afterlife, Kido. During her time as a human, Kitarune always had a natural affinity towards the art of the sword, capable of wielding it without much issue and understanding most of the basic martial arts revolving around the blade, taking her little time to learn them on a very base level. Over time she was able to continue advancing her skill with swords, a skill that wasn't entirely lost after death. Though nowhere near the same level that it was before, Kitarune is still very capable with a sword.

During her time with Katsuhiko in the Rukongai and his dojo, the basic movements of Kendo came as second nature to her, allowing her to remember the martial art and master it once again. Furthermore, another aspect she showed innate talent in would be energy control, something she picked up much later after she had become a Plus and, by extension nowadays, Shinigami. With this, Kitarune was able to get a grasp on the concept of energy control much faster than other Shinigami, and, as a result, was able to use the knowledge of the different terminology of energy from Katsuhiko to accelerate her learning. As time went on and as she was on her own in the Wastelands, she honed this skill to manifest into the Kido skill that she has today.

Speed: Speed is one of the more important skills that Kitarune possesses, arguably one of her most important general skills. Due to her low durability, this is both a given and a necessity. As a result of her Avian Physiology like Henrex, her bone structure is much lighter to compensate for it and allows her to reach higher speeds easier and with much less effort. This can be supplemented with energy to go even higher, but, at her base, movement is one of the key points of her speed. It allows her to maneuver the battlefield and keep at a range where her spells would be the most effective and allows her to move out of the way whenever needed.

The second application of this would be her focus on reaction speed. While not nearly as talented as she is in movement speed, Kitarune is still very capable of processing events in front of her. For her, this became an important skill to hone as she learned more about the potential of her Zanpakuto and where her main talents, skills, and proficients lie. It works well with her abilities and allows her to use this processing to discern what her next move should be; whether it be what spell to weave or what her next literal move is.

Strength: With most of her proficiency laying in the realm of energy usage and control, Strength is another area that is, at most, average. While she is capable of reaching moderate levels of power, her main skill is, again, with energy. At the base level, her strength isn't anything particularly amazing. But, she is capable of using her immense energy control to boost her strength beyond this, but at the cost of her not being able to handle the backlash of such power, a very short time limit of how long this kind of enhanced strength can last, as well as a much higher energy cost as a result.

Durability: Generally speaking, Kitarune isn't the most durable girl. In addition to the trade-off of being able to handle and reach higher levels of speeds and process events in front of her faster, this left her with a very lackluster defense. While she can cast barriers and shields to bolster her defense or prevent attacks from reaching her, at her core, she isn't sturdy by a long shot. So, it can be rather easy to break her bones and damage her overall. However, this also has caused her to think of additional ways to circumvent this, with the use of her demonic spirit and her skill in magic.

Martial/Weapon Skill: When it comes to the use of weapons, Kitarune isn't the best. While she has had experience with different weapons in the past and has been able to grow experienced and accustomed to them, certain ones shine above the rest. Firstly, it should be noted that staff-type weapons are Kitarune's bread and butter. Polearms and other melee weapons with long-range are the ones that Kitarune have noted to have exceptional proficiency, as it is the closest resemblance to her Zanpakuto, and so, it is something that could be considered muscle memory, as the similarity between the two is something that allowed her to pick up the weapon and wield it with ease. But, at its base, Kitarune's skill in most weapons can be boiled down to average.

Kido: The magic of the Shinigami is likely Kitarune's strongest and most refined skill. Upon entering into Shin'o Academy, it was evident that this was her strongest suit. To put things simply, it comes as second nature to control her energy and exert it in the form of Kido. As a result of this, it became something that she was able to refine and progress and allow her to reach new heights. This has allowed her to cast spells without incantations, infuse more energy into her Kido to boost the power, as well as being able to cast multiple Bakudo and Hadō spells in quick succession. As a result of this, the concept of magic was something that became rather heavily emphasized on for her Zanpakuto -- adding even more for her to learn, and more limits to breakthrough.

Zanjutsu: In likeness to her Kido skill, Kitarune's natural talent and practice in the art of the sword has made this one of her greatest skills alongside the art of magic. Before unlocking her Shikai and discovering the true nature of her Zanpakuto, Kitarune wielded it as a basic katana for the longest time during her time in the Rukongai and while honing that base skill in Katsuhiko's dojo. As a result of this, it wasn't hard for Kitarune to adapt and understand the mechanisms of the Shinigami's way of the sword, allowing her to master the basics of Zanjutsu within a short time. Additionally, the true nature of her Zanpakuto allowed her to reach new heights with the skill and merge the principles of her various styles into her new style of fighting.

Hakuda: Her weakest skill, without question. While she can defend herself against opponents equally lacking in skill in this area, one of the main weaknesses of Kitarune when it comes to this is her lack of a formal style and her very "roughhouse" style of fighting that she normally uses, due to her time in the Rukongai, teaching herself how to fight to properly defend herself. Extremely unpolished stances, terrible footwork, with predictable and unrefined movements. With all of this and a very reckless abandon when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, it isn't hard for someone to best Kitarune in this area.

Hoho: While she does have a basis in speed, Kitarune's main forte comes from her general speed. As a result of this, her Flash Step is rather average. She's capable of using it multiple times in succession before having to rest and can leap rather high distances without many steps. However, something that is somewhat unique about her Flash Step would be the near-instant nature. With her level of energy control, it's easy for Kitarune to be able to summon the energy to perform the technique in rapid succession between two steps, ask well as easy for her to be able to use it without much if any delay and without any initial movement.


UNIQUE ABILITIES


Avian Physiology: Excerpt from Henrex's App: As a man who has wings, it should not come as a surprise that the rest of his body would be that of an avian. However, this has noted to provide a bit more of a downside, rather than having positives. To begin things, this is something that heavily affects Henrex's skeletal system. For one, it makes his bones fairly hollow. This means that Henrex's skeleton is a lot weaker than normal, which causes his bones to be injured a lot easier. This is something that does not affect his skill sheets, but rather, just makes him a bit more susceptible to damage. While he makes up for this with the Cybermind plating that his skeletal system is surrounded with -- along with other protections -- this also has a slight upside. This also allows Henrex to move a lot faster, as his weight is slightly decreased from this.

Furthermore, Henrex's body receives several natural boosts as a result of this. The first thing that is boosted would be Henrex's senses. While this mainly excludes touch and taste, Henrex's hearing, sight, and sense of smell are increased to exponential levels, with him being able to hear and smell things from miles away, while his sight is only enhanced by being completely 20/20. So, while his senses are not extremely boosted, they most certainly are not normal. Another thing that would be his increased lung capacity. This is something that grants Henrex a much larger range of how long he can hold his breath, or even going as far as to keep his lungs constantly filled with air.


Stillness in Motion: As a way to make literal meaning of the Chinese proverb, this ability is, simply put, regaining energy. By drawing from the spiritual energy and particles in the area, she can fill her energy capacity. Through this, Kitarune can rapidly increase the rate at which her energy is refilled, allowing her to have a seemingly “unlimited” pool of energy for her to tap into. However, this is simply not the case. Kitarune can regenerate energy from this, but this by no means makes it unlimited in any way. This does have its limits -- being that Kitarune cannot move at all while she is doing this. Even if so much as a single finger were to twitch, the concentration would be broken, and she would have to wait for a post before being able to perform this again, and it would take her three full posts to get to the maximum capacity of energy.

The Sibling's Bond: This is a passive ability that Kitarune possesses, and directly connects to her brother, Henrex. This, in essence, is what binds the two together as siblings, and what truly defines their connection together. Upon activation (something that will need IC progression to occur, as it's currently inactive), Henrex and Kitarune will be able to connect, mentally. As a result of this, they will be able to transmit thoughts to each other, and they can detect and read each other's emotions, no matter the distance. Even if they were entire dimensions apart, they would still be able to create this connection. Furthermore, this allows them to have the innate knowledge of where the other one is, and -- if the other permits -- they can use this to "picture" the environment around them, allowing them to gain a semblance of where they are, and what it looks like. This can also occur when it comes to sharing memories, as the events will be projected into the other's mindscape. As children, they often used this skill to pass secrets to one another, or just to tell the other what they were thinking. However, now that they have both matured immensely, this is capable of so, so much more.

Zanpakuto Manipulation: One of the applications that Kitarune's energy control and manipulation of said energy is the control that this gives her over the shape and size of her Zanpakuto. It's a very small, basic power, retained in every form that she mainly uses for either small adjustments to her Zanpakuto, or to change its form entirely, with a single post in between changes, whether full-form or small adjustments.


SHIKAI


Shikai Release Phrase: "Enchant, Jugenro!"

Shikai Abilities

  • Will of the Magus: One of the first abilities that Kitarune learned about her Zanpakuto Spirit, especially when it came to honing the powers, was learning more about the spirit within the sword and how to manifest it into the real world. With her unwavering will and dedication, Kitarune can summon her Zanpakuto Spirit to the physical world. However, while in Shikai, she is only capable of summoning them for about 2-3 turns and having to wait for six posts afterward.


Arm of the Magus: The core of her Zanpakuto, put simply is magic itself. This ability is meant to show her creativity, utilizing her natural talent for Kido and Zanjutsu in a manner that allows her to create different forms of magic with her Zanpakuto's powers. A prime example of this would be Elemental Magic, the bread and butter of her list of magics. For her, this type of magic deals with the basic elements of the world: fire, water, wind, earth, and even stretching out to some of the concepts of the environment and the world, light, and darkness.

All of these are exceedingly versatile, allowing for Kitarune to create a variety of different forms of this power, such as using this to send a fireball towards an enemy, create a veil of shadow in a select area, or create a flash of light to blind an enemy. All of these stem from an additive power to this, Kido Manipulation. Due to her extensive research and eventual knowledge in Kido, it wasn't hard for Kitarune to learn about the potential modifications to a spell and develop it as an ability.

With this, she takes the base form of a spell, for example, #54, Haien, and alters the form and shape of it to create a massive fireball or create a set of fiery eruptions from the ground. Or, taking something like Hadō #11, Tsuzuri Raiden, and increasing the power of it to cause more damage and be more on par with the more powerful Hadō spells such as Soren Sokatsui. This knowledge and ability in Kido allow her to have a lot of creative freedom to make spells both as potent, or as weak as she needs them to be.

Abilities

Magic Circles: Above everything else, this is the main technique of Kitarune's Zanpakuto. By compressing her spiritual energy into a single area of focus, she can create a purple circle in any location within two miles of her, of which she can control all properties of it -- an example being the size. This allows her to focus her magic into this specific area and allowing it to be much more powerful than it would have been on its own. Furthermore, as stated before, these act as enhancements to her magic. While she can cast spells without the use of circles, the added refinement of her energy alongside the circles naturally makes her magic slightly more powerful, as well as her Kido. Were she to not use these, her spells would be about 5% weaker.

Additionally, it should be noted that these are very easy to create, as they require little to no energy to form, along with the fact that they can also be stacked on top of one another to create vastly more powerful spells (though this would cause them to cost more energy). Another application of these would be summoning them around her hands to enhance her strength and serve as made-due weapons. During this, they would boost her strength at a single level, halting at Elite. Any attempt above that would give a 30% boost. So, it should be obvious that these are a very common form of combat with Kitarune, as they are one of the most versatile techniques that she has.

Techniques

Spell Link: One of the many tricks that Kitarune learned to perform during her time in the Wastelands and learning Kido was the ability to link her spells with one another. Similarly to "Nijū Eishō", or Twofold Incantation, this is performed with two spells, though this is notably different due to it not only being able to utilize two separate spells, even without incantation but also two of the same spell to save time. There are notable strengths and weaknesses of this technique, the first being that this allows the second spell release to be cast for only half the energy cost, but also reducing its overall power to around 60-70%. Furthermore, this can only be used twice before having to wait for three posts to perform this again.

Conduit: As a Zanpakuto is an extension of the Shinigami's power, Kitarune can use the weapon as a catalyst for her base powers. While she is capable of utilizing Kido with her hands and without her Zanpakuto, utilizing her Zanpakuto as a conduit has a unique effect on her spells. By channeling the energy through her staff instead of her body, Kitarune can cause her the Kido generated from the staff to have a small increase in power -- around 5-10% -- to make them slightly stronger and hit harder, at the cost of control and energy of a spell ten levels higher, capping off at Kido spells of #80 and below. Furthermore, one of the key effects of this technique is that it also bolsters the general effects of the spell in question.

If it were a fire spell, it would burn hotter. An electric-based spell, it would have a higher voltage and give a much more powerful shock. This also is true for spells that are based around the forces of the world, such as impact spells hitting with more kinetic force and sharp, piercing spells and attacks being able to deal more damage to defenses and being able to pierce through targets better. However, while these are what amounts to a direct upgrade to her regular spells, channeling them through her Zanpakuto like this can cause a much higher energy cost and causes a longer cooldown both in between spells and in terms of downtime, making the recommended amount of times she uses this be around 2-3 times before waiting for 3-4 posts to conserve energy.

Reflective Ward: Upon activating Shikai, Kitarune gains a small passive barrier around her body, barely visible. This barrier around her allows her to directly weaken the effects of other magics used against her. Aether Magic, Demon Magic, Kido, anything inherently magic in nature will generally be less effective against her in terms of damage. It will cause her to take around 20-30% less damage from other magics while this is active. Otherwise, this would last for around two to three posts, with a four to five post cooldown. This can only be used three times and can be shattered by two hits of a Hadō #80 or above spell, requiring a four turn cooldown between uses, lasting as a max duration of eight posts.

Furthermore, something else that should be noted about this is that it doesn't absorb the energy of incoming magic, or negate the attacks by nature, it simply dulls the potency of energy when it comes in contact with the barrier, causing the overall attack to be weakened. Additionally, this does have some level of influence over basic energy and energy attacks, although much less powerful, only able to negate up to 10-20% while in Shikai. Finally, this effect is bolstered when she enters Bankai, allowing her to weaken the effects of magic up to 50-55%, with basic energy attacks up to 25% at max.

Mist of the Lethe: Likely one of the most standout spells that Kitarune has in her arsenal. By generating a thin, sweet-smelling purple mist in a half-mile radius, Kitarune can cause two set effects in the immediate area: drowsiness and forgetfulness. Most NPCs in the area will feel these effects almost immediately and begin to have their actions slowed, whereas other characters will have significantly more resistance, depending on their Willpower and Focus. Adept and lower will begin to feel the effects of sluggishness within the span of the first post, with the second or third post being long enough for them to fall asleep and be out of commission for the rest of the thread.

Advanced would take much longer to feel the direct effects, though the initial dizziness and sluggishness would still be in effect. It would take around three to four posts for them to begin to feel the drowsiness in full effect, and another post after that for them to fall asleep. Elite and higher would be able to resist the effect completely, [strike]but, in exchange, would feel the sluggish and dizziness effects much more than others
. This would cause them to have visual difficulties, and make it harder focusing on the task at hand. This lasts for three posts, with a four-post cooldown.


The Warp spell being used

Warp: Warp is one of the most simple spells that Kitarune possesses. A personal variation of the Shinigami's Senkaimon, Kitarune uses this to travel anywhere in the multiple, more specifically and commonly used to travel between dimensions. No matter if it's Hueco Mundo, Soul Society, or the Demon World, the Warp spell allows her to transport herself or others into any dimension of her choosing, at her own risk. Furthermore, it should also be noted that this does include being able to transport anywhere in that dimension that isn't directly and explicitly stated to prevent teleportation such as this. But, as a final note, it should be noted that this has almost zero applications in combat, outside of transporting people in and out of the battlefield. This is due to the portals and the general time it takes for the portals to form and teleport people being far too long to be practical in combat. Therefore, this does not have a direct cooldown or limitation for that reason.[/strike]

Hundred-Layer Magic Circles: As her main form of combat is the use of magic circles to focus her magic into a specific area to condense, contain, and increase the destructive power in said area, Kitarune needed to find a way to improve this technique. To do that, Kitarune discovered the ability to "layer" her magic circles on top of one another to increase their power. Doing this allowed her to reach some of the greatest heights that her magic circles were capable of in that state and create levels of power and influence that she had never thought possible before.

The first thing to be noted about Hundred-Layer Magic Circles would be the very broad nature of the ability itself. While the limits in this form are quite apparent at 100, it is by no means the only way that she can utilize this stacking. The Hundred-Layers act as a limiter of how far she can bolster her magical spells from both her Zanpakuto and her Kido spells. The next thing that should be noted is the scaling energy cost and the time needed to form them. While all of her spells can be launched within a post, the more circles that she ends up stacking increases the amount of time that she will need before actually firing the spell before her turn is over.

The next point, energy cost, is that the more magic circles that Kitarune stacks on a single spell, the bigger the energy cost. Ergo, should she use a consistent amount of full-power, Hundred-Layer Magic Circle spells, it would cause her energy reserves to be quickly tired out. So, she makes certain not to use the full-powered spells constantly, as she's well aware of this limitation and uses the flexibility of the ability to get around it, while still making sure that she is capable without those "trump cards."

  • Hundred-Layer Magic Circle - Kido Empowerment: With most of her skill and finesse coming from her skill in manipulating Kido, this "sub-spell" for her layered magic circles is focused on making even some of the weakest spells in her arsenal applicable in any situation and powerful in their own right. As said in the base power, this allows her to stack up to one-hundred magic circles to empower any Kido spell she chooses to cast, drastically increasing the amount of power that it contains, and allowing certain Kido to become deadly and fatal in their own right.

    For example, she could cause a spell as weak as Hadō #1, Sho, to turn into a powerful blast of kinetic force capable of leveling a building. However, this does share the drawbacks that the base power has. Firstly, the energy cost. The energy cost has a lot of variables, such as the amount of power put into it, the number of the spell, and how many circles that she uses to empower it. The higher the spell, the higher the amount of energy that she uses, on-top of the energy that she uses to both create and stack the magic circles. This, in turn, causes her to increase the cooldown time, scaling from something as small as a single post, all the way up to a five to six post cooldown.

  • Hundred-Layer Magic Circle - Bound Discharge: As her main form of magic is elemental, one of the elements that she can put into overdrive with the use of magic circles is lightning. By layering up to one-hundred magic circles, Kitarune can create an electrical spell that allows her to potentially reach levels of destruction that only some of the highest levels of Kido could cause before. By pointing her staff forward, she can unleash a powerful blast of lightning capable of equaling Kido levels 70 at maximum magic circles and maximum output.

    After unleashing this blast, a series of magic circles will appear in a line in front of her in an attempt to track her opponent as a series of lightning bolts strike the magic circles in sequence. Each circle reaches around ten to twenty feet in length, totaling the amount of distance covered by this line of attack to around half a mile. However, the more power she can put into these attacks, the more range she can cover, at the cost of more energy being used, giving her a pretty heavy drawback when it comes to this.

  • Hundred-Layer Magic Circle - Abolition Phoenix: Using Hadō #54, Haien, as a base, Kitarune casts Haien through a purple magic circle in front of her, unleashing the spell in the form of a large phoenix-shaped blast of energy. As it travels, the blast ignites and melts away, turning the blast of energy into a colossal, burning phoenix that singes the ground, causing a small explosion of fire upon contact. Like the previous spells, this is also modifiable in how many magic circles are used to give a full range of how many levels of influence and power this, with the maximum power of this being able to be around the level of Hadō #70. Due to the massive drain that this can create for Kitarune, this is restricted to two to three uses in a turn, before being restricted for six turns afterward.

  • Hundred-Layer Magic Circle - Orchid Wind: Named after the Kido it's based on, Orchid Wind is, for the most part, an augmented and modified version of Hadō #58, Tenran. By creating a magic circle and causing it to spin at rapid speeds, Kitarune can use this time to layer the magic circles on the spell to increase the power during the casting time. Whenever she decides to stop the spinning, Kitarune can unleash a powerful funnel of spiritual energy and air at an opponent, generating from her staff and traveling in a straight line. This can also be modified, using multiple magic circles in tandem to create multiple smaller whirlwinds, with a more wide-spread effect, rather than everything being focused in a single circle. Like the other spells, this is also restricted to 2-3 posts, before going on a six post cooldown.



BANKAI


Bankai Name: Jugenro - Hakkakusu (呪源路 八角州, The Way of Magic's Source - Eight Angle Sandbar)

Bankai Abilities

The Archmage: When Kitarune enters Bankai, the first thing that changes would be a tremendous boost in power in her magical prowess, allowing her Kido Modification, and Empowerment spells to be taken to an even further degree. This allows her to boost Kido spells to even the limits of the Kido library's power, and even beyond that with the addition of magic circles, leaving her a dangerous foe to fight. Furthermore, there is an additional passive effect that Kitarune gains when she is in this state. To combat against others who share a similar skill or talent as she does, Kitarune gains an improved version of her Shikai ability, "Reflective Ward". Just by being in this second release state, Kitarune emits a shield around herself that functions the same as the aforementioned: resisting the damage of other magics used against her, this time by around 45%.

This allows her a great deal of magical resistance to this who might end up using Kido, or other forms of wizardry against her, but, like Reflective Ward, this shares many of its downsides. While it is capable of weakening any magic that impacts this shield, it is by no means a permanent effect. Like before, three high-powered spells (i.e, an all-out attack from someone of a similar tier, or something akin to two spells of #80 and below) can break this shield and leave her open, but the shield will automatically restore itself within a five post period, while also being limited to three uses and a max duration of eight posts.

Temporal Magic: The first form of new magic that Kitarune gains while in Bankai, this allows her to manipulate the concept of time in her way. Unlike Reality Magic, this -- along with Spatial Magic -- allows her to directly affect another person. Using this, Kitarune can freeze the flow of "time" in another person or object, freezing the energy in said person/object. In a person, this would cause the flow of energy to slow down, making energy-based attacks be slow and difficult to unleash (20%). On the other hand, however, Kitarune can apply the reverse, affecting allies and speeding up the flow of time in their bodies (also 20%). During this period, allies would be able to perform energy-based attacks much easier and faster. These effects begin to fade in two posts, fully dissipating by the third post and going on a five post cooldown.

Spatial Magic: The second magic that Kitarune attains in Bankai, spatial manipulation. As the name entails, this allows her to briefly alter the properties of space around her to a maximum of three miles. At its core, this allows her to briefly disturb the space of something, either physical or spiritual to achieve a variety of effects. This can go as far as to swap the locations of two things occupying a different space. One of the main uses for this would be the ability to "prevent" regeneration, in a sense. By tapping into this power, Kitarune can use this to cut through the body and disrupt the space between the body and the limb, moving it to a separate space. With this, regeneration can't activate normally, as the limb technically isn't "removed", it merely occupies is in a different space, and can still move and function normally. However, this requires Kitarune to actually "cut" someone with this. Furthermore, this can only be done once before going on a five post cooldown.

Solar Magic - Sunbreaker: Solar Magic isn't as much of a new form of magic as it is a highly advanced form of her original fire magic. As per the name, this allows her fire magic to reach new and higher levels of heat (15% fire-based spell damage increase while decreasing Bakudo proficiency by 40%), enough so that it could be considered to be drawing energy and heat from the sun itself. To do this, Kitarune must gather energy from the world, heating it and combining it with a fire-based Kido as a base, such as Shakkaho, Sokatsui, or Soren Sokatsui to create a physical form for the spell. This advanced form of magic is the basis for the penultimate spell of Kitarune's fire-based magic: Apocalyptic Blaze.

Thousand-Layer Magic Circles: The ultimate form of Kitarune's magic circles, only accessible while in Bankai. As it is an augmented form of the previous two incarnations of the ability, there is little that has changed. With her now being able to layer up to a thousand magic circles on top of one another to achieve even greater levels of power to modify and augment her Kido spells with, her magic becomes incredibly powerful, costly, and dangerous. The power of her spells has increased to titanic proportions, with her spells reaching only singular usage limits before going on cooldown as a drawback to this, as well as a massively increased energy cost.


  • Thousand-Layer Magic Circle - Apocalyptic Blaze: The strongest of Kitarune's fire magic, and the signature of her Thousand-Layer Magic Circles. By creating hundreds of magic circles in the air her opponent -- all of which are already layered to further increase its power to absurd proportions -- Kitarune can use two spells as a base for this spell. The first being Shakkaho, causing a large ball of red energy forms above the circles, before crashing to the ground, passing through the circles as it goes, empowering the spell as it falls. When it reaches the ground, it sets off a tremendous explosion in a three-mile radius around it.

    Immediately afterward, Kitarune can utilize the second Kido spell used as a base, Haien, to manipulate the flames in the ensuing explosion, altering them to both start spreading at an incredibly fast rate, as well as taking on the properties of the spell they are based on. By doing this, anyone caught up in the flames will find their regeneration taking more energy to utilize to their fullest potential, as well as said regeneration being much slower than normal. However, due to the immense power of this spell, it is only able to be used once, and after that, it will be unusable for the rest of the thread due to the immense energy costs.


  • Thousand-Layer Magic Circle - God Thrust: While this spell does not have nearly the amount of area-of-effect that her other spells have, Kitarune is still able to use the compressed form of the spell to cause a great deal of damage. By using the first Hadō spell as a base, Sho, Kitarune can channel this into either her staff, her hand, or another magic circle as she layers the others on top of it. By pointing a finger, thrusting her staff or sword forward, or by using some other means of casting, Kitarune mixes in Byakurai in order to increase the damage, and add to the effects.

    Both of these spells combined create a spell of kinetic force and electricity, capable of piercing most kinds of defense -- albeit over a small area -- and push an opponent backward with the force of an F1 tornado. However, what makes this spell different than most others is that due to the negligible energy costs of the two spells used for this, God Thrust is one of the very few spells that can be used in rapid succession, though to do so, Kitarune needs to lower the power of the spell. Furthermore, even without using it in rapid succession, this spell is still capable of being used multiple times before going on cooldown, totaling around three times, before going on a four-post cooldown.


  • Thousand-Layer Magic Circle - Arc Ring: Arc Ring is one of the simplest spells in her Bankai's arsenal, as it isn't modifying the existing spell as much as the others. By gathering and channeling energy into her staff, Kitarune can utilize Zangerin as the base spell, augmenting it with her base powers in order to unleash a slash of energy from the weapon within the immediate vicinity with enough power to level multiple buildings. However, the very nature of this spell is a weakness. By gathering energy and concentrating it into her staff, as well as using Zangerin as a base, this gives the two heavy restrictions of energy consumption, as well as being able to only use this within a very short range, being around three feet.

  • Thousand-Layer Magic Circle - Drums of Raijin: The strongest of Kitarune's electric magic, and one of the most taxing. By using Hadō #88, Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō as the core for this spell, Kitarune layers all of the magic circles at the end of her staff, empowering the already present energy and modifying the effects of the spell. Instead of firing a single large beam of spiritual and electrical energy, Kitarune is able to take a post to compress the beam into three large orbs of energy that she can release from her staff, one per post. Each of them is able to create a dome-shaped explosion (something that can be turned on her by attacking the orb), expanding outward with electrical and spiritual energy at around fifty feet in size, each. This can only be used twice in a thread, with a six post cooldown in between.


  • Thousand-Layer Magic Circle - Magus Infinite: When it comes to many release forms, there is always a technique or power that is meant to show the absolute pinnacle of their power. For Kitarune, this is Magus Infinite. To begin this spell, Kitarune needs to channel a large amount of energy into her magic circles, something that takes a post to fully charge, creating one for each type of magic as she layers other circles on top of another to give it even further power, before creating a singular one over the rest, larger than the others, stretching out at around three and a half miles in total.

    After the circles have finished forming, almost immediately after, a massive eruption of elemental, conceptual, and spiritual energy occurs, capable of causing a variety of effects within; electrocution, burning, slowing down the flow of energy within the body through the added effects of her temporal magic, and tampering with healing powers through her spatial magic's natural disruption capabilities. However, due to the power of this spell with how many forms of magic it combines together, it comes as no surprise that the energy drain for this spell is absurd, capable of draining Kitarune's energy supply almost entirely if not used properly, leaving it with only a single use per thread.

What Are You Upgrading:

Paradise Lost

Description: Ceal is able to cause sudden and violent change in the world around her by warping pockets of the environment to such a degree that they begin to rapidly decay an area. This is not time decay, like examples such as Barragan, but rather, decay from the sheer level she is able to warp and twist the world around her. In a sense, you could say that this is Ceal's way of reflecting her inner world outward, displaying the decaying state she is in. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen. This ability is typically centered around her with scaling range based on her tier, and her mastery of Oorja Aura. She can also choose to limit these spatial disruptions as small pockets that can be created at predesignated points. These can also be anywhere from a baseball, to the size of a medium building, though, the bigger the structure, the more time it would take. In essence, she is "priming" the area around her for specific, powerful abilities tied to the Black World.

Ability #1: Pull from Oblivion

Description: Raising her hand up, Ceal grips at energy of the black world and pulls it's energies into her plane. Anywhere within the effects of Paradise Lost she can summon a rapidly expanding orb (rate of full expansion: 2 seconds) of void-like energy. This spatial distortion rapidly decays the environment around it in the post it is used. Enemies caught in the blast are rendered susceptible to it's effects, but at a reduced efficacy. The erosion rate of this ability is very high, and is considered a highly dangerous attack.
Combat Effects: Those hit by this attack take moderate levels of erosion damage and are marked for the next [6 - 1 for each opponent durability above Ceal's Oorja Aura mastery], If they are hit again with Pull from Oblivion, they will take drastic erosion damage, it's effects are severe.

Ability #2: Tainted Love

Description: Ceal is able to use this "inner world projection" to also project her love outward. It is a resonating set of shock waves that expand out in an all encompassing, 360 degree area. These shock waves will crash against any foe, and will especially affect those currently looking at Ceal. She is able to cast out a shock wave about every half second while channeling this ability, to which she is also unable to move due to the stress of the ability.

Those hit by 5 or more waves (subject to skill comparison below) will become captivated, a delusion cast over their mind that shows the world in it's full state of decay, viewing Ceal's tainted and broken inner world. While captivated, one's body is in stasis and can not be damaged by most means. It is as if they exist within a different dimension in this time while their body is immobile. A body can be moved while in stasis, but can not be altered, damaged, or harmed in any way short of very select few types of damage (such as essence damage, and to a degree, Ceal's own ruin magic). The duration in which one remains captive is relative to the caster's skill in both Focus, and Oorja Aura mastery, and the opponents willpower. As such, if Ceal loses enough focus due to excessive distraction, Tainted Love will end.

While captivated, the opponent will likely see delusions of things they've wanted most. People they've loved or love. It is the pinnacle of temptation, complete with elevated sense of awareness, like a lucid dream. Should someone accept, or somehow give into the temptation within Tainted Love, they have a chance to never return, forever lost in their own dream.

  • If Willpower is lower than Oorja Aura Mastery: -1 wave for each level (to a minimum of 1

Reasons:

My justification has always been that Ceal has been one of the premier users of not only the Seal of Eris, but of other things within the disposal of the Black World, the Chasm plot, and the like. To call her the poster girl of the Seal of Eris is probably an accurate assumption now, as it has grown to be a large part of how she's shaped and who she is.

Her ever growing closeness to Inami Asthavon is also, I feel, a strong valid point to be made. Being around her, and around Mana, as often as Ceal is could easily jar this, awakening it within Ceal and allowing her to reap the benefits of such negative energies.

At this point. I'm just trying to move forward with her as a more rounded character, giving her the tools I want her have to perform the functions I want her to do. Having another energy source that fits with her theme will help in this regard, as well as finally giving her an ability that ties into the "twisted love" I so often speak of when referencing her.

I. Updates to the site and goals for the future.

Hello, member-base, and welcome to an upcoming and reoccurring project staff is starting up: the Site Newsletter! Here, we will formally address any changes we implement abruptly, discussions between staff and member-base, and most importantly, the topics of consideration in our staff meetings. The goal behind this newsletter? To better communicate the member-base of what our intents as staff are, and maintain a cohesion between staff and members, as we are all RPers for PH, and it's ideal that we work together to maintain and improve the site.

You can regularly expect these newsletters after every staff meeting, and we will strive to keep everyone as best informed as we can. Of course, we won't be talking about every little topic brought up in staff, especially ones where we'd like to slowly trickle down the information, especially if its pertinent to a future event or mechanic implementation that we don't want to prematurely release without appropriately plotting or writing the contents out.

Furthermore, you can expect dedicated newsletters for each organisation which focuses on more minute changes and updates for each organisation, whereas this newsletter is reserved for the site at large. The organisation newsletters are more for In-Character changes and motivations put forward--with the members that hold authoritative positions in the organisations having involvement in these newsletter as a huge priority, to further ensure that we're all working together as one team.
II. Site Updates


Mandatory Activity Checks: In the coming days, particularly at the beginning of some months, we will once again be reinstating activity checks; however, this time around, we plan to make this activity check mandatory. The main reason is, as you may have guessed, the recent Exodus from a few months back. While it's unfortunate that events transpired as it did, we're taking that as an opportunity to learn, rebuild and stabilise the site in a better shape than before, and these checks are one of the methods.

Why Mandatory?: We need to ensure that the activity checks are done due to their underlying purpose. A lot of members left site, and some have been inactive for a while, with no relayed intent to continually RP on PH--for the time being, at least. To be able to more accurately discern who intends to stay active, and who is priotising a break from PH, we need all active members to participate. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we promise it's with the intent of moving forward with the site in a better direction.

When can I expect checks?: Following the rules of our "inactive/active" states, with the activity checks taking over the determiner for a member's status as inactive/active (it used to be if you haven't visited the site or posted in over a months without explanation for not posting, you were considered inactive). Since these mandatory activity checks will formalise this system to put it more in member's hands to determine whether they are active or not, these checks should come at the start of every other month, bi-monthly. So, for the first one which should be coming next month: June (month 6), you can anticipate the next check coming in August (month 8), so on and so forth.

Any additional incentives?: Like other activity checks, there will be rewards. Though the rewards haven't been entirely determined yet--as we only have a general idea of what we can offer that's fair and balanced as well as valued and engaging--we view it as an opportunity to formally recognise and appreciate the activity and vitality everyone brings to the site. Thus, for the apps, content, and threads/posts you've made in the two months between activity checks, a corresponding reward will be available. If you have any ideas on how we should organise these rewards, please bring it to our attention. After all, and I can't stress this enough, we want to more heavily implement member input in our decisions.

Any impact on positions?: Absolutely. This is one of the most crucial reasons for the activity check beyond reorganising the site, and knowing what apps and threads we can archive appropriately. We're trying to kick PH into high gear this summer, and positions are an incredibly important part of doing so. Their authorities and sway in organisations, as well as obligations for holding leadership roles, will mean that characters sitting in impactful positions in organisations must offer and maintain a degree of activity. That said, we will be implementing a minimum post count for characters or members holding these positions, though the numbers have yet to be determined. Like reward incentives, if you have ideas, do present it to us. The goal is to ensure that organisations do not stagnate, as that has been a rampant issue in the past.

Organisation Shifts: There's going to be a LOT of changes to organisations. Though its ultimately up to the organisation leaders to determine their structures, in an attempt to better match the quantity of organisations to the number of active characters and member on site, as well as simplifying the available organisations based on the intents and goals of the organisations so we're not dividing the options by hairs, we will be consolidating organisations together or abolishing inactive and unused organisations. Furthermore, there will be waves of movement in each organisation to better represent their status on site as a result of member propelled events and changes through In-Character threads and roleplay.

Shadow Fall: The biggest point to draw from Shadow Fall is that there should be some civil unrest. The actions of Mana Asthavon have grown more and more menacing and indiscriminate of those around her, especially following the emergence of Black World and the destruction of the moon. Additionally, wars between nations, such as Inami Asthavon invading Sirsa, Nami Asthavon defecting to K-World with Vicara under her dominion, or the rampant flares of arrancar supremacists and separatists in Hueco Mundo, Shadow Fall is having quite a bit of internal conflict. For staff members to approach on Shadow Fall events, you may want to talk to either Frost, Dark, Chi, or Shizuo, for their expertise on Shadow Fall as well as being the staff members tasked with SF matters. You can still talk to other staff member on these matters, as we're all generally well informed on all organisations, but those staffers are the ones delegated Staff-related responsibilities over SF.

Gotei United: The Gotei has come a long way from its repeated invasions and setbacks, and now we can comfortably say that it has stabilised. After Demon Incursion, the changes in leadership, bursts of activity and mini-events for the Gotei, as well as the emergence of old and new characters with considerable strength taking up impactful positions in the organisation; all these things have led to the Gotei being strong enough to look past rebuilding itself. That said, there's an expectation for a wave of missions to come about, drawn by the captains (staff and members alike) to take a more active role in events and situations beyond the scope of Soul Society alone. For Gotei matters, Henrex and JJ are the experts to approach, given their roles as captains, as well as both having many Shinigami-based characters. Just like with SF, you can approach any staff member concerning questions or suggestions, etc., but they are the staffers tasked with the Gotei specifically.

Guild of Heroes: Its status is ambiguous right now, especially since a large quantity of its characters are no longer active. Additionally, the structure of the Guild of Heroes isn't the same as what's generally expected of an organisation. That in mind, there's a consideration for the guild to be downgraded to a faction, though they will keep their assets and resources since those have been formally established and built up reasonably. Another possible outcome is a merger with other earth-based protag orgs. Frost is the main staff member responsible for the guild, so approach him.

Yayjuu/Vizard Corps/Vanguard: The Karakura trifecta, and the bulk of the earth-based protagonist organisations. They've all operated closely for so long now, and the discussion has been a public matter for over a year now, so it's no surprise that the intent to merge the Yayjuu, Vizard Corps, and Vanguard is closer to becoming a reality than ever before now. We fully intend to go through with this, though not immediately. All three orgs aren't particularly active, with almost the sole exception of Kai actively trying to keep the Vanguard involved and afloat. There will be discussions with members of each organisation and how we intend to progress with the merger's structure, the assumption being a three-pronged leadership between the previous leaders of Yayjuu, Vizard Corps, and Vanguard. Go to S_E and Frost for the these matters.

Iramasha Union: Not much change with the Iramasha Union. The priority for them is to get more active, develop incentives to make Iramasha characters and members of the organisation, advertise them, and most of all condense the entire organisation since it's structured way larger than it needs to be. Go To Frost with interests in the Iramasha, with S_E as a secondary.

K-World: Pretty much, we're just waiting on word between Frost and Kyle for their vision on where they want K-World to go. That said, go to the two of them for information.

Sugiuran Hierarchy: One of the biggest changes on-site. With no active Sugi characters, no involvement in any on-site plots whatsoever, and the whole idea of the Sugi Realm only really being accessible to Sugis or those traveling with the Sugis, there's no activity or reason to involve the Sugiuran Hierarchy, and more importantly, the Sugi Realm. That said, we're planning to just have the Sugi Realm sealed off, and the organisation inactivated. You can still make Sugi characters, though they won't have their organisation or realm available for RP, as in its current state, leaving it up is useless. Go to S_E for Sugiuran matters.

Monsuta: Speaking of abolishing organisations, we also intend to do away with the Monsuta, effectively getting rid of all "neutral" organisations for the most part. Their purpose is murky, the activity generated by the Monsuta is at an all-time low, and what it offers the site isn't quite on par with what's necessary and expected of an organisation. The plan is pretty much to establish an IC thread where the Monsuta's destruction is an actualised event, so unlike the Sugi Hierarchy, it will be much harder to reestablish the Monsuta. Shizuo is the staffer in charge of Monsuta matters.

Vastime: In exchange for consolidating multiple organisations as well as abolishing some others, there's potential for Vastime to be formally recognised as an organisation on-site. It already has the resources and In-Character influence, the only difference for the most part is for Vastime to be advertised as an organisation and officially supported by the site.

III. Upcoming Events


Central Plot: It's been building up and bubbling for a while now, nearly a year now since we've aimed to go through with a site-wide event once more, something as large as previous events such as WW3 and the Ender War. This summer, we're planning to really put those aims into gear and actualise something tangible. All the updates with the organisations is also for the sake of preparing this event.

What can I expect?: Right now, the majority of build-up for this upcoming event is being developed very organically. The formation of Vastime, rebuilding of the Gotei, destabilisation of Shadow Fall, inactivity from various other orgs less involved with Earth, will all culminate to an all out war that honestly won't surprise anyone. In fact, we may just slip into a global conflict so smoothly, it'll take a minute to really recognise that. For now, just be updated with worldly matters and events, and you'll be more than informed enough of the direction of the site. Furthermore, this event can easily spark into a chain of events which eventually expand the scope of the war and change PH lore forever.

The purpose for pushing this forward?: We want something to actively engage everyone on-site, really spark some activity, and offer an opportunity for power shifts on-site. Much of the old-guard characters have been in positions of power for excessively long durations, and we're taking this event as a pressure to ensure that powerhouses do not grow complacent, or they'll soon lose their heads. Additionally, it will create opportunities for new members to rise up, take leadership roles and accumulate IC feats, recognition, and status across the entire board, or opportunities for new and old members alike to do something new with their characters, have a chance at a reset or accelerated progression.

- Appearance Description: After the extensive rehabilitation Nize went through to stabilize his corroding body and soul, in result he gained even better control of reishi his body was built from. What once was his spiritual pressure morphing into clothing, is now hair length, eye color facial features and such. Unlike demons, he can't stray too far away from his base form and these changes are almost all just purely cosmetic, with exception of pair of blue, simple energy wings he sprouts time to time. Additionally, he has very little control over this aspect of himself, mostly changing when his mood does. The boys height varies from 5'7, when calm, to 5'11 in rage. His Hollow hole is always located at the spot, where Nize's bellybutton should be.

Calm: At those moments, when not feeling threatened for his life or blind by anger and rage, Nize looks nothing, but almost casual. The black hair lays short and flat, with no other color in-between them. Eyes purple in good lightning and black, if there is too much shadows around. The male's face being lean and with almost no fat, there is still almost no sharp edges, everything being almost smooth and feminine like. His clothing changes as need arises, it being mostly casual. The color pallet is also black and white, with few specs of color here and there. The remains of the boy's Hollow mask, stumps of once been horns, are hidden well in the big mess of his hair.

Combat: When feeling like fighting, to protect himself or destroy someone else, Nize's slack and relaxed posture tenses, his clothing changing to light, easy to move armor. It has small bags, slots and mechanical pockets, seemingly built in the boy's body. While the armor alters depending on Nize's needs, the unchanging detail are small jets, that release a pair of blue energy wings, when needed. In form they seem the resemble those of a bat. His skin is still almost snow white, but in this form the black hair has grown tad bit longer, with blue highlights here and there. His irises has turned into mechanical-like, spreading through the whole eyeball and glowing in electricity blue color.

Rage:When, in short, Nize looses his shit the appearance changes yet again. His hair grows shoulders length, red mixing with the black. Face features becomes so much sharper, the whites of eyes turning black, with red in the center. His clothing is more casual and less battle oriented, with a black coat almost dragging on the ground. Black, bat-like energy wings flutter behind him and the Arrancar's once broken horns are then reformed, long and pointy. His fingers assume sharp, monster-like form.

Personality

He is Nize by name, but personality of this individual had changed like summer to winter. The bubbly attitude to life had somehow changed, becoming more tame. It seems like the boys child-like view to everything new has matured, though not by a lot. The Arrancar is definitely less trusting and more hateful. While now he is much harder to anger, his anger burns for longer time and it is much thought through anger, rather then blind animalistic one.

At most of times everyone will find the young Arrancar in somewhat constant state of alert. While it may seem that he is calm and not bother by anyone, in reality Nize never loosens up. Not being sure what he himself feels mostly, makes the Arrancar really suspicious around others. If it is someone stronger than him this person may hunt the boy down at any given moment. If those are creatures weaker than him, they won't be above stabbing him in the back. Because for now most of males decisions are made by the computer part of his brain, they say it's smartest to be on edge constantly. He will still be nice, or at least try to, and would try to not jump into conclusions. The Arrancar will have a peaceful conversation with you over tea and be the curious, mischievous thing he is. Only...A bit paranoid and lock down maybe.

Though when alone or in a place he deems safe the boy finally relaxes. Relaxed Nize is almost like how the original was 4 years ago. Curious over the limit, caring and sweet. He will laugh a lot, pull out some pranks and in these moments he throws out all his reservations and allow the full range of what he feels. Even if it isn't a lot in given moment. One thing that has maybe changed, is in fact, while he doesn't quite remember Lust, some of the Saca Dilla's personality traits had passed to the Arrancar, making him a bit more flirty and not even close to how innocent the Arrancar was just few years ago. Playing pranks and couple of dirty tricks here and there won't be below him and would even seem quite fun to do.

When Nize gets angry is when one can see there is little left from the mind and soul everyone knew before the stabilization procedure. Usually, when he got really angry, Nize would turn into nothing more than a mindless Hallow. Ready to slaughter any and everyone. Afterwards, when he would manage to chill, the boy would feel terribly guilty and there it ended. That's not the case anymore. In the heat of the moment, yes, some of the quirks had stayed. For a moment his world turns red and the Arrancar can see only his enemy. Not even the emotionless device in his brains can't help to cool off. But once this passes Nize is not even close to forgive or forget. There is also no shame, remembering the anger outbursts. And if the person in question is still alive, that called upon this anger? Well, you can say that he will not mind spending some resources and energy in having a closure. One he prefers.



The Birth:
What Nize was as a Human. Heck, what was even his name then, have been lost who knows how long time ago. His story would really begin with a small Dummy Hollow being absorbed and melting together with a unstable piece of Vasto Lorde. You see, at that time in Hueco Mundo there was an Hollow who had acquired the highest pedestal of Hollow evolution. The only minus was...That thing was an anomaly. There wasn't a single mind overtaking the Gillian and making it hunt. No. In that place there was larger then life desire to feed. It took place instead of a dominant mind. And such it fed.

It fed until becoming a Adjucha. Still a Gillian sized being, all mouths and tentacles, thousands of masks pouring out of it's body, but never truly leaving. The beast had consumed a lot, grew larger then life and did nothing but destroy what it could see. But what the being didn't sense is, while the collective mind was still hungry, the now Vasto Lorde's body couldn't take anymore. And in one moment it fell apart. The once huge being split in dozens of lager, semi-sentient pieces. Here is where Nize comes in.

A foolish Dummy Hollow, wandering too close to an white piece of flesh and tentacles, and getting snatched by it. Even falling apart the collective hunger was still there and like parasites these pieces tried to latch on anything they could. Only this time it was one mind, that was stronger then the rest. A jump happened and what was once a Dummy Hollow was now Adjucha. Really confused, lost Adjucha, but Adjucha he was. Something similar happened to the rest of the pieces, but it doesn't pay big role at the given moment.

Being in his new form took some time to get used to, but he had it plenty. The Adjucha learned to hunt and hide, when becoming a prey. He was small and fast, both useful in the white desert. He hunted, when the hunger demanded and explored at the same time. The usual Hollows obsession with food and power was easily pushed aside by the Hollows child-like curiosity for the world. And then he learned it was possible to travel between worlds.

Earth realm was amazing. Beautiful and vibrant, it made the petite Adjuchas hole fill up with joy. He loved it there. From the greens of the forests to blues of the sea. It was true love, you can say. And it lasted shortly for Shinigamies are assholes and almost killed the poor thing. He was traumatized for weeks, not leaving his small cave even for food. After getting over it the Hollow swore to never leave Hueco Mundo ever again. Monsters should stay where monsters lived.

It was a chance encounter, saving Arrancar, Shadow Fraccione, from mechanical being, once a Hollow. Maybe it was the creatures ridiculous fox size or big, wide eyes, but after the battle this Arrancar stayed. He stayed, talked and petted him. Pets were the best thing ever. And he gave him a name. One thing the Adjucha had almost forgotten he had a need for. But now he was Nize.

You can say it was his best and worst time as a Hollow. Both became close friends, him and Bi, and there were so many walks, talks and pets. Nize really liked pets. When Bi had a mission, that took days to do, the Adjucha felt lonely. His hunger was getting worse as of lately and it was harder to ignore the voice telling to eat non-stop. Nize didn't want to be one of those things out there. And Bi helped with that. To mute the voices and make him happy. To make the Hollow feel more than a monster. The Arrancar helped Nize to learn how to love Hueco Mundo. How to love the Hollows around. An thaught, if he wanted something, he needed to go for it. And it seemed Nize wasn't the only one to go for this suggestion.

It should be one of the regular meetings with Bi, but turned into tragedy. Nize felt fine that day, but once his eyes lay on his best friend something broke the small Hollows mind, took over his limbs and a monster was set loose on the defenseless Arrancar. Nize never learned why he didn't run. Why he didn't fight back. But he knew that those were his fangs that ripped and shredded the Arrancars body, devouring him completely. Bi was no more.

Since then the hunger returned time to time, taking Nize over as a puppet, going on a devouring spree and leaving the Adjucha to feel used. Feel like a abomination. It went to the point he couldn't take it anymore. He wanted them out. The voices of hundreds, the ever commanding hunger. How week and defenseless he was to all this. A mask was pulled and freedom sought. A mask was pulled and freedom given. Here Nize ended as a Hollow. There he started as Arrancar.

Joining The Espada:
Nize took his sweet-ass time adjusting. Being Arrancar was so different and so, so much better. No voices, no hunger and thumbs. He loved thumbs and how useful they were. Nize started to live in his small cave again, just modifying it a little. He was able to do that thanks to new-found power. Power to push and shape Reishi in different ways. Slowly a small cave became a bigger one. Then it turned into a house. And then again Nize started to venture into Earth Realm. This time it was different, he was maybe a bit more careful and such his visits turned out safe. In them the boy learned more about world, situation with Hueco Mundo vs Everyone Else and picked up an surprising interest in science. Or more like...How he could use his powers in creating things mixed with machines and gadgets Nize found here and there.

The small cave slowly turned bigger and bigger, changing from that to improvised lab. Nothing fancy or high tech, but enough for Nize to experiment with his ideas. It had taken a bit of hard work and reducing some of the intruding Hollows into their prime form of Reishi and learning just how they are made, but result was that the Arrancar learned how to create Hollows on his own from the Reishi whole Hueco Mundo was made off. Such he created Bi, a jackal-type Hollow in memory of his old friend, and Rem. Both joyful and loyal creatures with bubbly personalities. Nize wasn't sure from where the personalities came, but his guess was that it had to do something from the fact, that he himself was made of numerous souls. The greatest creation then, though, was The Hollow Tree. Replica to the one Queen of Hueco Mundo resided in, but unlike the seemingly dead appearance of the original, he created a cute little sapling with red flesh and little, grabby roots. The creation process was boosted through some power enhancing drugs one could find being sold here and there.

This sapling quickly grew and over-grew around the whole lab, becoming it. This fact made Nize concerned, because he had no idea how the ruling government would react with all this, but no one came with blazing guns and burning lasers, so safe the boy was for the time being. Already good few years in being an Arrancar, when he was visited by another of his kind. A nasty mind reader, who decided to poke his brain for kicks or something. You can imagine it didn't get well with him and it seemed, that this little mind intrusion awoke someone in Nizes head he long hoped wasn't there.

Soon after that happened the next unfortunate event. Gappy Spirits, little beings made from Hollows DNA, Nizes powers and some primitive technology escaped his lab and spread all across Hueco Mundo. These little things fed from Reishi and made concentrated one in their bodies. Their original goal was to exist just so he could acquire this valuable substance without extra hassle, but their escaped made Nize realize beings made for one goal doesn't mean they won't have more than one goal. Gappy Spirits started to rapidly evolve and grow, changing and multiplying faster then Nize could catch up. He understood the cleaning process would be impossible alone. On top one of the biggest nests were located somewhere inside New Las Noches walls. At that moment Nize realized he truly fucked up. Joining Shadow Fall it was.

Shadow Fall/Espada/Rose:
Was joining the organization only way how to solve his predicament. Maybe not. But Nize didn't so much. Upon joining the demonic forces of Shadow Fall to his surprises the boy wasn't thrown in some large group of soldiers, but rather into the once famous Espada. Rose Mischevang, a strong hearted leader and in his thoughts the strongest of Arrancar race. This girl was as caring, as brutal. Without doubts, exactly what Hueco Mundo needed at that point.

It didn't take long for the Fraccione get very attached to his boss, though she didn't like him thinking of her like that, and this attachment made him want to grow and prove to be of a use to Hueco Mundo. Scouting missions, as well, as battle ones. Training in range, while sharpening his mind in the lab. Rose had a lot to share and he was willing to learn.

Probably, a note worthy meeting was running into a lunatic, by Nize's thoughts, which later turned out to be Sunshine Asthavon, one of Royal's of the leading demon family. o say the meeting was hell would be a understatement. The thing was...A lot of things. He attacked him, they fought, but it was a battle between a mouse and god. Nothing good could come from that. Nize came back with few scars and puzzled mind. But he got over it.

Sadly the Arrancar couldn't stay a Fraccione forever and at some point attained the rank of Espada. With the responsibility this title brought you can say the boy was more then stressed. Nize took his job seriously and tried to better the life of Hueco Mundo, in the same time trying to better himself. His knowledge about how to create Hollows and Arrancars alike had grown even further, both Bi and Rem being fully formed Arrancars and his fateful Fracciones. The Hollow Tree he created all those years ago had taken a growth spurt as well and broke out of the ground, hovering above even the tallest of Gillians. Her name was The Tree of Life and Birth.

And of course no one can forget to mention the experiments he did to himself in goals to achieve further evolution. Different items were fused with his flesh, such as the Hollow Ring, that allowed to control lesser members of his species, to the famous Dues Ex engine. This was probably one of the most risky of his experiments, as he took the device apart and altered it into a skin-thin body suit. It was then replaced with Nize's own skin and fused with his Zanpakuto and all the energy it contained. The result was that he lost his Ressureccion form, gained increased power and made his body highly unstable.

The Black World Arc:
The Black World breaking through and releasing hell all around meant people from both sides were forced to act. Nize was sent to explore Black Hueco Mundo and it was something. Like home, but different. Less friendly, definitely. The boys wandering led to the place where one would find his home. Though, in that place it was a tower of sin. If succubus Arrancars were anything to go by.

If he thought this mission may be hard, he had really no idea. The miasma of Black World effected the male terribly. It brought out what was hidden in a person and brought back an animalistic hunger Nize knew too well. Only this time, for one reason or another, this hunger had more sentience, a personality. And dam, he was a asshole.

The possession didn't last long, letting Nize proceed with his own will. More bloodshed, killed Arrancars and probably a broken rib or two, but the top of the tower was reached, where Nize was met by the most strangest creature. His Saca Dilla. The opposite of what he was. Basically a giant perv. That didn't mean he wasn't strong. With the same power level as Nize, but with no injuries and focus on durability and strength, rather then speed and ranged attacks, the Saca Dilla beat the shit out of him. It was, though, only to make a point across, that Nize is still too weak to achieve his dream. They dream.

Once that was made clear, the Saca Dilla fused with Nize and became something of a parasite, the Arrancar being a host. The creatures name was Lust now and they became quick friends and combat companions. Though...He had the habit of saying the strangest things quite often. A lot penetration jokes Nize didn't get, as Lust weapon was a hammer. He was sure you can't penetrate people with a hammer. You need a sword for that.

The Break and Nize 2.0:
As months passed one another Nize grew quieter and quieter. His growth in power made the altered body more and more unstable, where it was on verge of self-destruction. Only the presence of Lust and daily medical treatments kept him from blowing up. He tried to avoid people, burrowing in his work like never before. Nize's ultimate goal was to populate Hueco Mundo, as well, as make it a safer environment for all living there.

At that time The Tree of Life and Birth had evolved to be able give birth to Hollows and Arrancars without it's creators power. It served as a home for hundreds after hundreds and was Splits lab, home and friend.

The last straw was when, after a terribly taxing day, Nize went to rest, waking up to a burning village he himself had created. Everyone destroyed, he didn't have a single doubt it was his own doing. Or rather, the beasts inside himself doing. As his body was splitting, Hunger had greater control over the Arrancars actions. It was time for drastic measures.

"Project Soul Drive" was probably one of Roses most impressive inventions and in theory it should help Nize return stability in his messed up body. Additionally, he had created a re-building chamber inside The Tree, where his body would be reduced to pure Reishi and then re-built anew like it was before all this mess. In theory. Saying the truth, Split had no idea what would happen, if he went in there, as there was 90% chance his physical make-up won't be possible to repeat. On top of that the Deus Ex had also became unstable and it wasn't clear, if it will be possible to remove it. And on top of that there was also Source, Hunger's given name, that had developed it's own soul and Nize wasn't sure, if Soul Drive will be able to hold that thing off. Lust promised to help, but his own existence was a question mark. In total, a lot of uncertainties and not enough time.

The plan was put in motion, Soul Drive inserted and pod entered. Everyone was given the warning to not come close, in case of explosion. Just in case. And the world didn't see the Arrancar for a whole year. For a year Nize Split was gone, the creatures he created left to be taken care by his Fracciones. The pod opened and he stepped out. But now Nize Split was only his name. A name memories supplied, but that was all. The personality was lost. The Nize everyone knew was lost. Because the rebuild was far from perfect. It had broken the Arrancar apart, but didn't put him together like it should. Reminder, his birth wasn't like most Hollows. And such the creature now was what it should be then. The strongest soul, that controlled the others. But being lost in a sea of souls for so long ended this soul with no memories or emotions of it's own. Just "Project Soul Drive" in his head and memories from another person. No feelings attached. And that made the soul confused. Lost. That made this soul to become Nize.

But this Nize had no intentions continuing what the previous one was doing. The computer in his head told it was pointless and at that moment there was no feeling to follow. He needed a vacation. Somewhere no one would think of looking. And while there probably could be dozens of options, the first one to come in mind was Karakura. Such, a Gigai was needed. Fake personality and documents. The computerized brain and no sense of guilt made it simple to forge. In the enemies base he will be safe.

» Item Name: Vitamin C+
» Item Type: Created by Nize and works on those with Hollow genes in them.

» Used For: Healing

» Item Description: The fruit of Nize's hard work and understanding of Hollow's genetics, one pill is in the size of a small button. Silver in appearance and sweet on the tongue, once ingested it activates High-Speed Regeneration locked in Hollow's DNA and grants it to he person in question.

Vitamin C+ works for three posts, granting High-Speed Regeneration of Advanced level. Similar to coffee or energy drinks, the users energy reserves are reduced by a huge chunk. One pill may be ingested for Tier 3 and one additional pill for each major tier up for the drug not to make extra strain to the body. Between intakes there must be 2 post cool-down at least. By surpassing the recommended intake one may experience incomplete healing, disfigured regrown limbs and such. After taking two pills pass the recommended limit they won't work anymore, even going so far as to damage the body. Those with already active High-Speed Regeneration will experience an level boost in it for the drugs duration.

» Obtained From: Being Roses Fraccione and knowing her for many years, as well, as showing large interest in self-modification, had gotten quite a few interesting devices for Nize. Project "Soul Drive" was one of them, given in hopes of stabilizing the dire situation in his body.

» Item Name: Advanced Gigai
» Item Type: Support

» Used For: Multi-Purpose

» Item Description: Created for purpose to be able to walk safely around in Karakura. Upon deciding that he needed time to understand himself, literately, Nize took the standart Gigai used by Arrancars and modified it so it could serve the purpose he had in mind.

The main focus has been set, so, while being inside this doll, his spiritual presence is completely changed from Arrancars to Human Ziamichi with inner Hollow. The goal for that is to be able safely walk in Karakura, without prying eyes. There is, of course, risk of meeting those with detection abilities of Master and above and, if truly focusing on the Gigai, they may feel what hides inside it.

Besides this, the Gigai allows Nize to use his racial Hollow abilities that doesn't involve turning his body parts into devices or producing any from his body. Also, they are capped till Elite level power-wise. He has also access to Project "Soul Drive", but it's benefits are limited to maximum of 15%. As last point, the Gigai has a tier limit of 2-1. Meaning, if Nize is higher tier then this, his energy will be cut to the maximum Gigai level.

» Obtained From: The new soul taking Nize's place is confused. It has only the previous owners memories, but realization, that it's not him in the same time. And because of that he wants now to get some downtime and try finding himself. Nize back then was very fond of Earth Realm and he had huge interest in Karakura, so, with no other real stop points there, the Arrancar decided he will hide as a Human in Karakura for some time. Such, an effective Gigai was needed.

» Item Name: Mark of The Hollow Prince
» Item Type: Accessory

» Used For: Crowd-control

» Item Description: Created long ago, when starting to reach new highs in his power, Nize altered the standard Mark of Hollow to something more. The original item was meant for Shadow Fall units to be able control the weak, wild Hollows of Hueco Mundo, so they wouldn't bother them, while conducting their tasks in the said land.

But Nize saw much more potential back then. By spending more then a fortune, he bought immense amount of concentrated Reishi and using his abilities of it's manipulation, coupled with few clones of himself, fused the small item with little bit of his very own Hollow essence. By then spending additional time working on the item, using his own abilities, as well, as some Espada resources, object worth of it's name was created.

Similar to the original item, with it Nize can control Hollows[NPC only] with Willpower of Adept and weaker in radius of few hundred feet. The radius can be boosted by feeding energy to the ring. Creations made by Nize can be control with no regards to their location or Willpower. And while the item generally just gives a command, which the targets will try to fulfill to the best of their capabilities, if Nize wishes, he can take complete control of any of his own creations, using his own mental abilities, but their physical ones, as well, as powers. Lastly, Nize can use the Mark of Hollow Prince to mentally communicate with other Arrancars and Hollows as calling through phone in the before mentioned radius. Those, who has at least Adept Mental Deduction or Willpower can hang up on Nize easily.

Visually the mark looks like a white bone ring with a broken imp mask in the middle and two black gems in each side. Because part of the ring is Nize himself, for those without Nize inside them this ring works as the base it was built from.

» Racial Abilities:
Disclaimer: While Nize has constant access to all his techniques mentioned down below, I have separated them in "moods", as his fighting tactic changes slightly. Universal, as the name states, are techniques he uses constantly.

Universal Techniques

  • Project "Soul Drive"; Nize's Use - This device, safely inserted in Nize's body, was what everyone hoped to be the answer to his problems. In some ways it was, even if the persona, no, soul of this Arrancar doesn't exist anymore.

    Now he uses this device quite a lot and had altered few things to fit his own needs. Mostly it is the focus set on boosting his battle techniques and speed. It lessens the effect on the man's strength or durability, but it would be a lie, saying he sees them as a big asset in battle.

    The other big alteration is more of a upgrade to the nano-bots in his body. Similar to Nize him-self, they have been changed from fully mechanical beings to half organic, microscopical Hollow-parasites with mechanical brain. Without this, their other big change is that they have been fused and became part of Nize's Zanpakutô, as it has been combined with Project "Soul Drive". That in turned gives each micro-Hollow similar powers of Reishi manipulation.

    Being parasites, in some way even viruses and the Arrancar is toying with the idea as of late, they can change themselves into different organic substances. This ability for now is used, so Nize can heal his injuries and regenerate body parts, if needed. Or create new ones, if time and patients is given. He can quickly add something new as well, but it would waste extra energy and there is the risk of the body part being created crippled and flawed.

  • Racial Focus; Cero/Sonido - Glass cannon is definitely what he is known for, aside from his ability to create. Nize had spent good amount time to perfect and develop his existing Cero techniques, as well, as create new ones. And because his tactics mostly involves range fighting, need for speed and keep his distance was mandatory.

  • Presencia Hambrienta - Nize's spiritual pressure very well represents both the hunger he has been born from, as well, as one of the deadly sin's, Greed. Black in color, once his spiritual presence connects with anything made of Reishi, the object bursts into black flames, eating it away, as fire would do with flammable things. Like real fire these flames would then jump from object to object and can cause quite a wildfire in areas with a lot of Reishi. Nize can toggle this on and off when emotionally calm, but has no control over these flames and such they can easily turn against him, as well, as others. The most effective way to dose them is with high-pressure spiritual presence.

  • Cero Volcánico - Longer charging cero attack and harder to precisely control, Nize releases multiple beams of cero from the surface he is connected with. Depending if the surface has high Reishi concentration or not, this attack can be both high taxing, in case Nize has to use purely only his energy, to low cost, if the surface itself has Reishi to burn. Performing this technique forces the Arrancar to be rotted to a spot for the period of Cero Volcánico. Those with sensing ability of Adept and up can also easily feel places, that will erupt once the needed energy had gathered there.

  • Gran Rey Cero - Cero one masters, when becoming Espada, Nize was not exception. This attack has long charging time, but compensates with massive destructive force, that even distorts space around it. No surprise it was forbidden to use it in Las Noches, when Aizen ruled and still it would be unwise to use such attacks inside buildings. Most likely then not, one will destroy the building in such way.

    Usually, loosing the Espadas title would mean Nize loosing the ability to perform such attack, but with mastery of Cero as high, as he had, the Arrancar had no problems replicating the technique on his own. And such, it didn't go anywhere.

  • Cero Armas - As the name state, this ability allows Nize to form a weapon of choice from Cero he generates. The Arrancar generates power usually used for Gran Rey Cero and then compresses it in the desired form, mostly it being a sword in Combat Mode and staff in Rage Mode. It is also possible to turn them into explosive projectiles, though, they are hard to aim and carry immense recoil. Without activated "Soul Drive" or Ressurecion it is most likely Nize will get pushed backwards, when launching the attack. It is obvious this is more taxing technique, compared to the most, and such rarely used for projectile attacks.

  • Cero Planeta - One of the longest to charge, Nize had actually used this attack once, fighting the terrifying Sunshine Asthavon. More of a finishing move, he gathers energy on par with Ulquiorras Lanza del Relámpago in palm of his hand and pushes it into a ball, size of a marble. This cero's movement speed is almost none, making him to deliver the sphere to his target. It means Nize also gets caught by the destructive force of this explosion, from which he barely got out alive last time. And since then the male had gotten much more powerful.

  • Rebotar - Nize's combination of Cero and Sonido, this move ignites under Arrancars feet, giving a speed boost just before using Sonido. Depending on how large boost of speed he wants, Nize can use more or less of his energy. It can go from giving just a minor edge to going twice or even three times faster then before. Prolonged use of this ability, though, can cause physical strain to his legs.

  • Sonido Enchantment - Nize learned how to apply his Sonido to most of other techniques, reducing the time in which they are executed or increasing their speed. That can make for quite a nasty surprise for his foe, who thought Gran Rey Cero is slow charging attack. Of course, the slower attack is originally, the more taxing it gets to boost it. Mainly Nize uses this to fire Cero's at even faster speed then before.

  • Wings - Without the fact, that they make it possible for Nize to easily maneuver through out the air, the energy formed wings also give a slight boost to the males general speed. It's nothing much, but anything is good, when one needs to stay out of melee combat as much, as possible.


Combat Mode

  • Cero Huevos - Legacy left from Saca Dilla Lust, these are balls, containers, made from Hierro and filled with Gran Ray Cero. The most simple use of them is loading in a cannon and fired at the enemy. Only after hitting the target they will explode, releasing the devastating energy one the victim. More complicated use of this ability would be dropping them as a mine. Nize can then detonate these balls to explode whenever in the next 5 posts. Otherwise they will do on their own after the before mentioned time. In the same time he can control 1 ball per Mental Deduction level after Advanced, plus one additional per Cero skill level after Advanced.

  • Cero Llover - Small shoulder gun, controlled by the computer in Nize's brain, forms on his shoulder and fires half-strength Balas, compressed in size of a bullet. Because they are so small, but with decent energy, the pressure on enemies defense is much bigger then a regular Cero or Bala. While one bullet would not cause too big of a problem, leaving a small, but deep, burned hole in a persons body, it is the sheer amount fired at the same time what is the main point. Because of the reduced energy cost and small, compact size, Nize can fire hailstorm of these in rapid succession, making swish cheese out of the enemy.

    The gun itself is locked on the enemies spiritual readings and can operate freely without Nizes orders, but such it can also be easily confused by changing it and such. If the Arrancar takes active control over his weapon, tho', it may become a different story. Constant usage of this weapon for more then 3 posts will overheat the weapon and make it go into a cooldown of 5 posts.

  • Cero Disparar - Each hand summons a black, mechanical lazer gun. The fire slightly smaller Balas, though, not as small, as Cero Llover, then regular at the enemy in rapid speed. It is quite similar how Coyote Stark used his two guns. If wished, Nize can also easily produce Cero's from them, of course in slower speed then Balas.

  • Cero Cañón - It is a giant cannon, which forms, when Nize puts both of his hands together. It gathers Reishi from surrounding area, and, if can't, Nize, and fires blast close to Gran Rey Cero. It can be fired once a post, with two post cooldown. If though, pushed, Nize can fire a second blast post afterwards, but then the gun is useless for the next 4 posts.

  • Speed Enhancing Absorber - In places with high Reishi consistence Nize can turn his feet into roller-skate, connecting with the Reishi around, absorbing it and creating a concentrated version. That is then used to boost his speed, while there is wild Reishi to absorb and use. The speed boost is on par with Nize's current Sonido, such, a good way to utilize his surrounding, if there is any Reishi available. He gets the most of it in places, like, Hueco Mundo and Soul Society.

  • El Goliat - As much, as Nize doesn't like to do it, sometimes close combat is the only option. And he isn't big fan of it. Because of that El Goliat was created. After the command is given, millions of Nano-bots leave the males body, and together with his Reishi manipulation ability, craft a heavy black robot over him. The suit is around three meters tall and massive. Multiple Cero cannons are built in, as well as smaller Bala machine guns and few Cero Llover. The suit has heavy strength enhancers, boosting anything below to Advanced and Advanced to Elite, as well, as durability on par of Elite. The downside is that his movements drop to "untrained" and after 7 posts, the duration of this machine form, he will be reduced to close exhausted.

  • Cero Atrapar - Five black metal rods are released from Nize's arm, encasing the enemy in a pentagon shape. White, Cero type energy then is produced, connecting with the target in the middle. The said targets energy flow is then being tried to block. Depending on the difference between Nize's tier and his target, the enemy may be left completely paralyzed and unable to move for duration of a post to just be a bit slowed down, while in the trap. Larger the territory to cover, more energy this device will take.


Rage Mode

  • Estar Furioso - As mentioned before, while raging Nize doesn't go all beast-like anymore. Though, if in battle, he starts to consume more of any possible power sources available, fueling all his techniques with this burning anger. It takes more energy, but in return gives increased firepower as well. Project "Soul Drive" helps in micromanaging this process.

  • Cero Anilla - Nize creates a ring of eight cero balls, each in size of a snowball. These balls locks on the targets Reiatsu signature and follows it. The goal is to surround the target, making him/her be in the middle of these eight balls(radius 1 meter and less). When he/she is there, a black energy collar appears around the targets neck. Then it will work like a magnet for Nize's Cero-type attacks, attracting them to the wearer for the next 3 posts. This collar can be broken off with strength Advance and up, but, if done so, it will explode with the strength of Adept Cero.

  • La Esclavitud - Seven tendrils of black Cero energy forms behind Nize, taking form of long, whip-like imp tails. They have Advance Strength, each move on it's own and radiate heat on par with with Advance level Cero. Each tail can stretch around 15 feet in radius, with the speed matching of user's Sonido level. The default duration of such technique is 3 posts with 5 post cooldown. If Nize wishes to boost the Cero strength the tendrils were created from, each skill level would reduce the duration for one post, but no lower then one and he can't surpass his own Cero skill level. Though, if in place with high concentration of Reishi, such as Heuco Mundo, the duration for the tendrils is boosted by 2 posts and cooldown reduced by one. Additionally, each Cero skill level pass Advanced grants Nize additional post of duration.

  • Cero La Negro Sol - Four(Six in Ressureccion) black balls of Cero energy form around Nize. Each holds the juice of a Gran Rey Cero and such, take their time to charge. When done, they will follow the Arrancar, being additional mediums, from where he can release his Cero's, as well, as other techniques. Each sphere can release 10 Cero's or 1 Gran Ray and the radius he has control over them is 100 feet per Cero skill level pass Advanced.

  • Arco Rojo - Technique created from watching and studying Quincies, once Nize was quite fascinated with the fact that his unique ability is in some ways similar to their racial one. Such, he was then, around a year ago, adamant on learning to form something of a Quincy bow, but using Cero for basis. He was successful, though, soon afterwards the stabilization procedure came.

    Now it is probably the main technique he uses in his Rage Mode. His focal point is the middle of palm, from which a black and red Cero energy emerges and forms into a unstable looking energy bow. From this bow then he produces arrows in different strengths and densities, depending on the need.




» Zanpakutô Name: Conejito Tímido

» Zanpakutô Appearance: Originally a sword, it had experienced multiple alteration in spam of few years. Now, at this point, the Zanpakuto is a fusion with Project "Soul Drive" inside his brain. Part of it can be seen as small clouds of black leaving Nize's body and then returning into it. They are the microscopic Hollows mentioned before, but a bit more unique, each being a part from the Arrancars Zanpakuto and such holding more power than a regular one. Not to mention the fact they are also gaining the boost Nize receives from Project "Soul Drive".

» Unique Power: The previous Nize couldn't tell anyone, what was his sin and why his powers were as they were and this Nize isn't any bit wiser in that aspect. He has a theory, that while alive he may had control problems in some way, but this didn't help that much.

Nize's unique power is Reishi manipulation. Reishi is small particles, building blocks from which worlds are even built from. His home, Heuco Mundo is made from it, as well, as Soul Society. It's from what souls are made and Nize has the ability to use these building blocks himself. At start they were small things. A wall. Kettle. Furniture and simple stuff. But as time went off and understanding about his power and Reishi as a matter grew, his power in controlling it grew as well.

First souls he created were weak Dummy Hollows, that were dismantled right away. It was then practiced, as souls were probably the most complicated Reishi creations from them all. Nize doesn't know from exactly where their personalities and minds come from, but he has a suspicion it could be related with the fact, that all Reiatsu on very basics is the same and such, it knows how to be anything. The limit is how much the creator understands about the object he is making. What else was learned, if he created a being before, dismantled it and wanted to create the same creature again, it will be the same being with the memories from the previous time it was created. Few of Arrancar's Fracciones were born through such method.

After joining the Espada and shooting through ranks, his control over Reishi around him had sky-rocketed as well. He can build the most complex structures, given time, understanding and material. Crafting a huge city, like Karakura and such would probably create a heavy mental burden on his mind, though, with "Soul Drive" in his brain this limit had been pushed even further. He can create beings independent from himself, though, once done that, he can't take back the control of them existing or not. The process of cutting off usually makes the created being feeling power-less for days while they build up their own energy supplies.

In battle this ability can be used in building obstacles, energy shields and decoys, though, it takes much more energy then a regular, polished technique would. This is why Nize doesn't use his ability in battles that much. Also, souls created on the fly can be a maximum of 4-3 and with a limited quantity which can be dependent on his release form at the time.

Other part of this power, while connected with Reishi manipulation, is probably more related from the beast Nize was part of once. Reishi absorption. He can turn it in it's purest form and absorb it for additional energy. Any real benefits come only in places, where the concentration of it is really high, as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. Big supernatural battle fields will do too. But it will also come with the drawback of Nize's environment deteriorating, falling apart and being absorbed by the male. When just becoming an Arrancar he couldn't control it, making owning items an impossible feet.

  • Echar - Activates only once upon entering Resereccion. Ten small, black balls of Reiatsu sprout from Nize's body and into the ground, Gillians breaking out from those spots few seconds later. While they won't attack Nize, no one else is sure to be safe, as these Gillians will act, as any Gillian would. This can be substituted with a swarm of hundreds of weaker Hollows.

  • Master of Reiatsu - When entering Resereccion all Arrancars aspects are boosted. That includes his unique ability to control, absorb and manipulate with Reiatsu. The range has also greatly increased, with the additional fact of being able to create more complicated objects on the fly.

    His Reiatsu absorbation rate has also grown quite a bit, but becoming also a lot harder to control. It can cause quite a problem in realms, where items and building, not talking about land itself, are built from the substance.

  • Cero Pentagrama - From the staff in Nize's hand five black energy balls appear and swirl around it. Soon after, an immensive large and strong version of Cero is released, causing huge damage to everything below Advanced durability. He can manipulate the power put behind this, even being capable to make Bala version of the same attack.

  • Cero Vincula - By stabbing his staff in the ground Nize can produce black Cero chains, binding anyone in 200 feet radius. Not only they are really durable and restrain movement, these chains also slow down the energy flow in once body, shortly making them incapable to perform any energy-type attacks. Those with Strength of Elite and up can break through. If during the next post they can't, though, the chains will explode in large, high damage blast. This can bind hundreds of smaller enemies or few larger ones. And if it doesn't completely bind them, then at least slow down by few notches for a short duration.

  • Cero Sol; Event Power - Nize creates a giant ball of black Cero in the sky, that for the next three posts will try pulling in everything and everyone in 3000 feet radius. Land, buildings and such will be pulled in and reduced into nothing by the intense energy in the sphere. People without exceptional means to defend against it would likely be put out of commission. If made from Reiatsu, they will feed the thing, growing it in size and extending it's life spam, but not more then extra 3 posts. Those with Tier one major step higher then Nize's will be able to keep their ground with almost no problems. Others with the same power will keep steady, feeling strain in their muscles, but those going even below that will find it hard and maybe even impossible to not be dragged towards the giant orb in the sky. This is once per thread move, after which he will be incapable to activate any of his powers.

  • lluvia de Fuego - Black smoke leaves the Arrancar's body and fills the nearby sky in few hundred feet radius and constant rain of Balas start to fall down, causing small explosions everywhere for the next post. This can be used once per 5 posts.

  • Torretas Enmascaradas - Dozens of small balls of darkness leave his body and fuse with different, large surfaces. From them human-size tentacles sprout with Hollow masks on them, shooting enhanced Balas at everyone Nize had deemed as enemy. They disappear once the surface, from which they have been sprouted is disturbed or when they are cut down. While the Arrancar can make new ones each two posts, such use of this ability will strain the males energy reserves much faster. In default he can control 10 turrets, +1 per Mental Deduction level pass Experienced. While equipped with Mark of Hollow Prince, he gains additional 5 turrets.

» Roleplay Sample: The Tree of Life and Birth was brim with activity as always. Hollows, Arrancars and different mixes in between were running up and down inside the huge Hollow being, even if their master had now been absent for more then a year. The Tree did it's job NIze had left and it felt happy about it. Yes, maybe lonely sometimes, but surely happy. And today you could almost feel the happiness brimming out from the Hollow plant. Today everyone was ushered twice as hard to complete everything at time. To tidy up and adjust. Today was the day, when stabilization process finishes and Nize returns to his children.

And such, away from all the life and deep in the heart chamber of the Tree, where Nize had made his lab and where a huge Hollow mask hung over a computer of biological mass, quiet "beep" sound left from a human size meet flower, it's petals slowly opening and revealing mechanical egg, filled with bright blue smoke from concentrated Reishi leftovers. This egg then also opened, the smoke quickly leaving into the empty space and disappearing almost at the same time. The Tree didn't want Nize's lab to be foggy. And wildly coughing the white-skinned, black haired boy appeared and slowly stumbled out of the pod. His legs were shaking and lungs tried to grab for air, Reishi, anything, just to remember how to work again. Red plant-like tendrils of red flesh tried to go around the male to support him, but once they touched him, black flames left his body to smoulder the plant and made it retreat.

Once his lung got used to functioning and body got used to the feeling of being something more then a blob of Reishi, Nize slowly opened his eyes. His body posture was tense and mechanical veins pulsed quickly on his black hands. There was no emotions on Split's face or in his blue, mechanical eyes. And the reason for that was, he felt no emotions. No, he felt a bit tense probably. Maybe. He knew , that this place was unfamiliar. Definitely new. But in the same time he had hundreds of memories revolved around it. Hundreds of memories involving emotions towards the place for who he felt nothing at the moment. He knew where he was, even knowing he was here the first time.

Calm women's voice suddenly spoke, almost scaring the male, but again, only almost. It was like his mind had also forgotten how to register emotions. "Master Nize, welcome back! The last analysis reported your body had safely achieved stable condition, similar to how it was with your original Arrancar body. Though, they there are some odd readings, which weren't in our data-base. How are you feeling?" The last sentence was spoken even softer, lovingly tone, creating questions in his mind, that were answered almost instantly by flood of memories. Memories of small sapling. Small, red, grabbing even smaller Dummy-Hollows, draining them out of their life force. A mask, similar to the one over the computer, hanging on the top branch as some sort of fruit. Then there followed many memories, where he was taking care of the meaty thing, watching as it grew and became something amazing. And in those memories he remembers fondness. Fondness towards the Tree of Life and Birth. Little T. He felt nothing now.

And such, with the same blank face expression on his face the male, it seemed his name will be Nize, replied, "Feeling perfectly fine, thank you! Though, I'm afraid I'm not the person that stepped in the pod. It seems..." New memories. No, more like information. Facts and numbers. Statistics. There was a computer with screens and modules, and interfaces in front of his eyes, laying out facts. So, he was an Arrancar. So...This time this Nize person didn't win in the battle of control. But this information exchange happened so fast, no one noticed the pause. "The reforging process also restarted the soul battle for dominance. I guess my soul won."

"Bullshit!!!" Loud, hoarse voice left the pod and another person stepped out. Instantly Nize's mind gave him a name to the face, Lust, and memories corresponding to him. His conclusion was the guy had problems with his libido. But now it seemed he could have even greater issues at hand. The platinum haired male seemed highly unstable, spurting out from his body black and red Reishi, barely being able to move or stand. But he did move and was stumbling in Nize's direction. "You now step back in that pod, so that fucking excuse of cactus can bring back NIZE!!!" He yelled out the last word, as small, blue Cero shoot through his chest like butter.

Uninterested, Nize gazed as the shocked blond disappeared in green flakes of energy. He really didn't have any time for nuisances at the moment and from the memories he had of the male, he was just that. "Alright! Now, I have some preparations to do. No one should bother me. Is that understood?" A pause. Just for a moment. Then the Tree spoke, "Yes, Master Nize."

» Reiryoku Technique Effects: When the technique is used, the surroundings within a 100 meter in diameter of Sofia darken. It doesn’t become as dark as to where one can’t see, but it’s sufficiently so enough to be considered comparable to nightfall in the absence of all light except for that of the moon. From the air, the ceiling, or the trees if there are any available, strings of a nature unknown seem to hang down around her suspending several doll pieces. Some strings keep a hold of an arm, others keep a hold of a leg. Others keep hold of cute but aged and dirty doll heads, all of which are missing one eye. Even to the more avid of individuals with extremely perceptive eyes, it would likely take a while to figure out how many dolls there were. Why? Mainly because they’re separated into pieces and it would be difficult to tell which belong to which. After all, even when Sofia plays her music and wills them to join together, some dolls still seem to be missing some limbs, as if they were meant to be that way.

The amount of dolls she can have active largely depends on her energy. As such she’s limited to ten dolls ordinarily, and 20 in a release state. Each doll is roughly a foot and a half tall. And though some have their limbs and some don’t, just about every one of them seems to have only one eye. Through the dolls, Sofia is able to peer into her surroundings as she would through hers, making the technique unique and useful for scouting. Upon creation of the technique, Sofia uses her own energy signature as the basis, and foreign sources of energy as the other. That foreign source of energy, or rather the individual, is then engineered to represent and symbolize the mother of the dolls. The art behind the Heavy Metal #1 of the Concerto Series revolves around a song where the mother, so caught up with her life and her career, discarded her children before they were born for things she deemed more important. And now, the past comes back to haunt her. As the song unfolds before the opponent, the dolls seek to reunite with their mother and make her a part of them as they were once a part of her; by feeding.

Essentially the dolls will crawl, limp, walk, jump, or run towards the opponent in an effort to tug and take bites and pieces out of them to be ingested. Although the dolls act largely out of their own accord, Sofia is able to influence them to walk or run or limp if she so desires. Given that the dolls are not too big to begin with, the diameter of their bite is roughly around three inches. Their teeth project from their gums as sharp serrated incisors more akin to that of a seesaw. The only damage the dolls can cause is that of bites, and scratches. Their bites don’t really slice cleanly but rather shave and tear. Destroying a doll is not difficult. A fairly decent energy blow or hit would cause a doll to shatter and break. However, given that they’re so fragile, Sofia engineered a method to keep them just moments more. Each time a doll is delivered a decisive blow, the one eye they possess would disintegrate. If the doll were to be hit again by any attack it would be destroyed as it has no more eyes to use. On the flipside, Sofia may allow a doll to surrender its eye to maintain another doll in the battlefield. When an eye is destroyed, the doll echoes an eerie baby laughter that drowns the area. If the doll is destroyed, a loud baby cry haunts the area where it once was.

Just like a song, the effects do not last very long. The technique is active for only a maximum of four posts ordinarily, or six posts if used during a release to account for the massive surge in energy. However, if all dolls are destroyed then the technique ends right away. And as a brilliant work of musical art it should only be seen once, so that it may be remembered forever. As such, once Heavy Metal #1 has been used in a battle, it cannot be used again on the same fight. There’s even one more unfortunate byproduct of the ability. Since it uses only Sofia’s energy as the basis, it does not differentiate or discriminate between friend and foe. As such, if used around her allies, they too would be vulnerable just as the enemy would, and Sofia would be forced to take time and focus to keep them from harm.

» Reiryoku Technique Effects: A true masterpiece in her concerto series, the classical & metal is pretty self-explanatory. Sofia creates a beautifully insidious but enthralling melody with her unique ability that mixes classical music and metal rock in ways almost unheard of. Once the technique is used, the general surroundings do not change much aside from around Sofia. Behind her, a wall of black would appear as it melds with the view of the sky. Technically, it would look as though the area behind her was so dark as to mimic nightfall. This does not hide Sofia, and neither does it make it difficult to see the surroundings. Instead, it is meant to represent the dim lighting, or lack thereof around a stage where a performer is about to create a work of art. The dark look of the sky is only visibly behind Sofia as its tagged to her spiritual signal, and as such, if she were to move, so would the darkened effect.

Above her, a figure would show itself to resemble greatly the opponent she is facing. When faced with multiple opponents, Sofia may pick one. The figure only mimics the look of the opponent at the time of creation. If through a transformation or ability the opponent’s look changes, the figures wouldn’t. The figure doesn’t copy things like techniques or abilities, or even knowledge. It only copies their physical look. There are just some inherent differences. For starters they look paler than the opponent. Their clothes are also changed to a either dress of white or a suit of white. Said clothing item has streaks of blood that don’t appear to belong to it. If one looks closely, it would be noted that the figure does not have eyes, but rather sunken black holes, almost like a void, where streams of blood continue to trickle down onto the dress before stopping. Essentially it leaves the red trails of marks from the eyes to the clothing. From its arms, head, and back, several strings seem to dig deep below the surface of those areas. They don’t look like reishi strings but almost as items that were forcefully placed there. Nonetheless, if one were to tug or pull they would not come out, almost as if they belonged there. And about ten meters of string up, two large hands, each spanning about five meters in length seems to manipulate and dictate its movements. For all intents and purposes, the hands stand as a visual representation of Sofia’s mind and will in the technique. As a representation, the strings are just there for show, as even if they were caught, the hands would continue to puppeteer the figure as Sofia uses her mind to control it. Even higher above the hands, two theater masks of white, happiness and sadness, hang suspended. Initially, sadness glows intermittently. While this occurs the figure continues to lament and cry, as echoes of eerie sorrow drown the surroundings. When only the happiness mask is available, its glow causes the figure to behave as an extremely hyper and excited individual with an avid taste and desire to kill for the fun of it.

The figure is able to use almost any attack Sofia knows but within plenty of exceptions. It cannot use items that only Sofia possesses. That means it cannot use seele Schneider, or ginto, or her regalia, or even ginto spheres. Instead, it is only able to use reishi and reiryoku techniques, hand to hand combat, and to depend on the geigenbogen as her main weapon. However, when only one mask is available, the sheer joy and excitement of the battle enables the figure to use any means of attack Sofia has at her disposal. The figure is also deaf, and thus depends on Sofia to guide it by sight. It does however possess an incredibly potent sense of smell and hearing, likely as a result of giving up sight. It enables the figure to pick up almost any scent, or to catch on to even the lowest of decibel sounds, and transmit the information to the Quincy. Every action of the figure is commanded by Sofia’s will, which is represented by the hands of the puppeteer. The figure is extremely strong, although it would never quite be as powerful as Sofia. Nonetheless, if at any time the figure is dealt a decisive blow which should have caused it to perish, one of the opera masks would disintegrate. If the figure is struck a deadly blow two different times, then with no available masks the figure too would disintegrate into nothing along with the technique. If the opponent however chose to target the hands or the masks outright, then rather than destroying them, the opponent would simply be damaging and lowering some of the spiritual energy Sofia has fueling the technique. Like every masterpiece in art, the song does not last very long. The figure cannot remain out for more than four posts ordinarily, and six posts if used during a release. However, if enough deadly blows are dealt, then the figure and the technique could very well end much sooner than anticipated. If for any reason the technique ends, Sofia is unable to create the same song again in the battle.
