Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage] Empty Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage]

Shinigami Exclusive Zone
❂ This is a special exclusive zone for Shinigami only. If you are of pure Shinigami breed, then you will be able to come across a swamp hidden deep within the bowls of The Soul Societies inverse Realm. The air here is wicked humid, the sights are dim and there is a great sense of power alluring warriors, healers and common folk alike.

This reason why so many are being pulled towards this location is for the fact that its waters are capable of augmenting one to the next level of power. It's sacred waters are capable of unlocking a persons potential and that is why so many adventures had come to this location. It called for them to come here -- but not without a cost.

You see, the problem lays in the fact that there is a barrier preventing others from easily getting in. It is roughly on par with a master level kido spell and is guarded by two colossal snakes that are comparable in size to a three story building. Each of them are roughly of 1-5 tier and have master stats in speed, strength and durability.

Your task, should you choose to accept, is to defeat these snakes and somehow find a way to destroy the barrier in order to reach the murky depths of this enchanting lake. If you are successful, you can also venture further into the swamp in order to uncover a purple gem. There, once taken, this crystal will take the effects of the lake further and potentially lock a new form for the person who infuses itself with it.

Artist: Asriel - Song: KThe Sphere of Ragnarok - Word Count: 1160

There was a clap of thunder in the distance and volt of purple lightning lit up the darkened skies of the murky pound. In its electric wake brought a sense of impending doom upon the area. This sensation clenched at the chest and clawed with such intense feeling of fear and dread. The humidity became intense, the heat started to rise to uncomfortable levels and the waters started to growl and give a low boil. Even those of supernatural nature may find it hard to breathe, difficult to think and hot all over as this unnerving warmth increased like an unwanted guest upon ones personal domain.

And, for the betraying Shinigami known as Saiko Mori? She fit that bill just neatly. There were orders given by those within Shadow Fall's higher-ups to gather up special artifacts from this Reflective Eclipse. No doubt it had something to do with research projects, but Saiko Mori wasn't one to question orders. After all: how could she? She sold her soul to the devil a long time ago.

Thus, baring those thoughts in mind, the tainted Shinigami was the first recruited for this mission. Their scouts had discovered this location sealed within the Inverse Realm of the Soul Society and found that it had mystic energies pulsating at a wild rate within this location. However, none of their demonic or hollow forces could otherwise enter this specific spot without being reduced to a burning carcass. Therefore, Saiko was enlisted for the mission to retrieve the artifacts for Shadow Fall's gain.

If Saiko were to run into anything that may hamper those efforts? Then she was given full digression to use whatever force was necessary in order to otherwise secure the objects. However, what was more concerning to Miss Mori was the nagging thought of running into anyone who may recognize her from her days in the Thirteen Court Squads.

As memories of Operation Demonic Incursion flooded into her mind, The Archduchess just couldn't stand the thought of killing or confronting anything that reminded her of that past. Just recalling the faces of those she slayed in that mission was -- horrible. It was almost -- too much. But this is what she signed up for, and is what she sold her soul for. So -- she must commit to the task no matter what.

Hence, on these terms did The Demon Shinigami find herself emerging out of a black portal that dropped the The Silent Killer off none too far from The 7th Division Captains position. As she stepped forth from out of the darkness, the pale skin of the lone Shadow Fall representative reflected against the mirror reflection of the black waters surface. But, within that same instant: she disappeared.

Suppressing her spiritual presence, Saiko needed to gain the edge on the recent detection of Gotei 13 reinforcements that had arrived in the area. In order to avoid having to repeat those actions from Demonic Incursion, The Silent Killer needed to be swift, fast and calculating to put her sorrows to rest and these men from facing deaths hand. So, with her dashing speed, The Archduchess started the process of knocking each of The Captain's fellow men unconscious.

She'd appear as nothing but a black blur as she weaved in and out of the rows of Shinigami. In swift and mechanical movements, The Silent Killer aimed to deliver hard and sound punches to the backs of the necks of those in her path. Infused with her spiritual energy to further give it an edge, there was a high chance they'd at least be immobilized and rendered unable to fight as she tore her way through the crowds without the intentions of failing.

"P-please, do not stand in my way. I do not wish to kill."

Those words were whispered to The 7th Division Captain before, out of the darkness, Saiko Mori emerged and coated her right arm entirely within a black mist. A surge in spiritual pressure hissed from that limb and decided to go in for a quick and impacting force hit to the male's temple. This blow contained enough force to otherwise blow through numerous city-blocks, but Saiko wanted to direct her efforts sorely towards his skull to otherwise knock him out cold where he stood to prevent resistance in one fast hit.

Then, after that point, she'd unleash a wave of darkness from her right hand that was comparable in destruction to a cero to otherwise push the Shinigami in the direction of being sent hurdling out of this maze of shadows. While the destructive qualities of this attack could otherwise render his body covered in burns, cuts, scrapes and potential ruptured organs or broken bones; the primary intent was to get him out of this area -- no matter the cost. And since he was a Captain, a bit more force than usual may have been needed to secure this vision.

Following those actions, the nimble-footed "killer" would then have the blobs of darkness around her materialize a mask upon her pale skinned face. When it was forged, she then jumped towards the direction where she sensed that sacred gem of power. However, before that could be dealt with, the female averted her eyes and gave a weary, meek gaze to those around her with those indigo shaded eyes of hers.

If things didn't turn out as planned? Then this was going to get a lot more ugly then it needed to be. So, Miss Mori let out these words as her short-cut, raven hair blew against the storms rigid breeze:

"This terrority is going to be claimed by Shadow Fall. Please, I beg of you, evacuate and do not interfere with our affairs. I cannot assure your safety if you do not adhere to this warning."

Gloom, dark and saddened were words that could be used to describe the girl's sullen tone of voice as she sighed and placed her hand against the barrier that separated them from reaching closer into the depths of this glum swamp. And, in a clap of thunder, the hissing of snakes soon began and The Silent Killer could feel the pulsation of more intruders coming upon this area.

So, with all of these pressing concerns batting against her mind, the Silent Killer grabbed her chest as pangs of physical and mental hurt surged in her head. Would she be up to this task? Could she succeed in her goals for Shadow Fall and for her sense of self? Or would it all unravel here? Nobody but mother fate knew, and Saiko was ready to roll the dice as she always did in these accursed missions. Thus, the game was on and she'd face as best as her frail and meek self could.

This was the barren path of The Archduchess and it was a path that led to such isolated depths and inner-sorrows.

Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage] Empty Re: Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage]

Sun May 10, 2015 7:40 pm
Wings gliding through the humid air, a certain shinigami had appeared almost seconds after the other group. Her brilliant red hair had been cut shut, red eyes scanning the situation as she tried her best to cloak herself from the senses of those she watched. Her thick, scale covered tail twitched slightly behind her as she measured her pace to the same as the other members of squad seven. Why had this individual come separately from the others? Well, Tessa Morrowend had always had trouble accepting new commanding officers, and so she was not one who could be called completely loyal to the new captain, Cogimo. No, today she had simply intended to observe and see how her new leader dealt with combat, to see whether he was worth her loyalty and respect.

However, as she watched the group from the air, her eyes picked up a change in the corner. Flicking her sight to that direction, her eyes widened slightly as she noticed a new black portal, one which neither she nor her fell squad mates came through. Eyes narrowing as they searched the area for the individual who had come through the portal, only to widen as she spotted her comrades falling to the ground unconscious. There was only one logical conclusion, someone was competing with them for what they had come to seek. Previously having been at the rear of the group, she beat her wings heavily as she pushed forward, intending to make it to the lead of the group and stop this. She was not yet close enough when an individual appeared, speaking of stopping their quest. A low growl escaped her through as she flash stepped in front of her captain just as the person who had appeared attempted to strike at her captain. With one had she attempted to shove her new leader away from the battle, her other swiftly drawing her blade to intercept the woman who dared attempt to harm this new captain. No matter that he had yet to prove himself to her, she wanted him to live long enough for her to know whether he was worthy or not. As she attempted to block the attacking limb with the flat of her blade, her other hand was still coming forward as words spilled from her lips.

“Hadō 1, Shō!”

Utilizing her capabilities with kido, the draconic shinigami attempted to force the attacker away from herself, after all her one handed block would not last in a sustained combat. However, the attacker didn’t stop there, deciding to unleash a wave of darkness, causing Tessa to grin. Opening her mouth, she moved her blade aside before letting loose a roaring cone of flames. Comparable to an arrancar’s cero in terms of power, it also had the ability to set alight those it came in contact with. Watching as the wave of darkness and the blast of fire met, Tessa spread her wings and shot off from the ground, making sure to keep the direction of the flames pointed towards the blast. Once she was sure she was clear of the attacks path she cut off the flames and with a burst of speed shot after her quarry. Flash stepping as quickly as she could in hopes of catching up with her target she spoke softly as she held her blade tightly.

“Speak the truth, Gladius scientia!”

With those words her zanpakto morphed and changed, forming in to a european longsword with a red gem set in the center of the guard. Along the blade were etched seven runes, dull and barely visible. Grinning as she followed after her prey, she called out as she pointed her hand down towards the runner.

“Bakudo 9, Hōrin!”

An orange hued tendril, sped forth from her outstretched hand, the strength of her binding spell as strong as if she had used the full chant, and attempted to utilize it to bind the idiot who had thought to attack her squad. If she had succeeded in binding the individual she would land, holding her blade in from of her defensively as she examined her prey. If not, then she would simply wait and see what would happen.

Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage] Empty Re: Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage]

Artist: Asriel - Song: Sequentia - Word Count: 2008

There was a miserable sigh that escaped the pale lips of The Archduchess as the operation rolled on. It seemed, if anything else, the doubting sensation in her gut was right in the fact that this was going to more difficult than once imagined. Leaping into action, The Void Engima detected the Dragonic Shinigami charging forth to protect her precious Captain and prepared for an intensive combat. Around the moment that she pulled out her blade, Saiko summoned up a current of energy that seemed almost -- deathly. It reeked of blood and had a corrosive effect to it; as Tessa may have very well began to see the metal and other material in her Zanpukto were becoming decayed by this blackened force.

".....D-dammit."

Those words which had been filled with contempt were whispered in a painful tone by The Void Engima. This is because she truly did not desire to fight this woman, or the Captain for that manner, but had no other choice if she wanted to otherwise keep her soul and deal in tact with The Devil. Therefore, baring these agonizing thoughts in mind, The Shadow Fall operative prepared to otherwise counter this kido.

With another explosion of darkness, the repulsive force of Hadō One was greatly reduced to only being able to inflict a dull and aching pain across the assassin's power. Making a small grunt to confirm the pain, the female was indeed in a bit of anguish, but she was far from moved. This was all thanks to the fact that this mysterious aura seemed to otherwise eat up the energy associated with the magic based attack at a rapid rate. Therefore, it's effects could be greatly reduced as the means of fuel to supply this assault were otherwise tampered with and eliminated.

But, of course, the series of strikes from her opponent were far from over. Following up her kido with a burst of fire, Saiko Mori decided to put a damper in those plans and clenched her right fist. In that motion, there was control given to her in order to otherwise control the trajectory and energy associated with the wave of darkness telepathically. This would burn up more energy, but it was well worth it in the end. This is due to the fact that she was able to otherwise make her burst of blackened energy even more potent by having it devour and consume the flames after she infused more of her own energy into it.

In one swift motion, the fire would have dissipated and then -- the wave of shadows faded into a portal and its presence became no longer detectable. What had occurred? Simple: it was contained in the same dimension that was used to bring Saiko Mori to this battlefield. So, for the time being, it was a non-factor.

Thus, The Silent Killer needed to only focus on the sharp increase in power that she detected coming from The Dragonic Shinigami. It was obvious enough that she was going to release due to the fact that this massive jump in energy was abnormal. Henceforth, the reflexes within Saiko's own body hardened and prepared to deal with whatever attack was going to be launched at her. This came in the form of The Archduchess's body hardening the density of its energy in order to otherwise form a layer of protection that came as an eruption of darkness around the female's body.

"Just stop....."

Clenching her eyes SHUT with fear and heartache, this pulsation of emotion and power slipped into her reserves of reishi and it responded with the utmost of urgency to protect its master. In a matter of seconds, two colossal arms compromised of this decaying energy formulated from the right and left sides of Saiko. Proceeding after that point, each of these energized constructs made swift movements to grapple on to the ropes made from the kido. Then, with a tighten grip, they sought to break the kido from its creator and shatter it in two; leaving the pieces in their palms to decay and rot out from its deteriorating properties. .

The very atmosphere around them started screaming out the call of death almost; as most of the remaining Shinigami could feel themselves succumbing to a sickness and began vomiting out blood, organs and the very energy that kept them alive. Something wasn't quite right. The outright plague seemed to be radiating from this girl.

In fact, due to Tessa maintaining such close contact to the girl, and with the additional fact that she made direct contact with her shadows from her Zanpukto strike, this illness may very well radiate into The Dragonic Shinigami's body at a progressive rate. She may begin to feel as if her insides are burning, organs are melting, bones are crumbling and five senses distorted. Her very sight would be blurred, hearing drowned in a ringing of the ears, tongue filled with a rotting flesh based flavor, the nerves across her skin would begin to feel slowly numbed and the smell of iron would become hypersensitive to her nose and produce a dizzying effect to otherwise take away the nimble balance that The Shinigami possessed.

Something tainted her alright, and Saiko planned to keep playing this up. Closing the gap of distance between them with a quick burst of flash step, The Silent Killer tapped the thighs, abdomen, chest, neck and forehead of Tessa with a rather soft touch. There were no real aggressive movements, but she was more than prepared to twist and turn her body should this result in an fast-paced assault from either Tessa or Cogimo. Then, when finished, the effects would accelerate and The Dragonic Shinigami may find her very flesh beginning to rot, energy supplies being weakened and the numbness of her body increasing.

"P-please, just go to sleep...for your own sake. I don't...want to do more than this."

The look in Saiko's eyes as she parted gazes with Tessa may have seemed very serene. As, in that moment, there was a sort of hurt behind the face of The Silent Killer. Something that otherwise indicated she did not desire to have tap more into her power than what she needed. If they would just stand down, evacuate and leave this place -- this miserable clash could be avoided.

Yet, unfortunately, the world did not work in such simplistic terms. As the snakes in the background were busy devouring the remaining Shinigami that were alive, The Captain was already hot on the trails of Saiko's path. With her defenses otherwise still in place, the Captain did indeed make contact with The Silent Killer, but at a terrible cost -- being infected with this decaying energy. While Saiko did indeed feel the brunt force of the attack, yelping out in pain from the pressure associated with the attack still bypassing the shield and lowering her health somewhat,it would be nothing compared to the Hell Cogimo may now face.

This decomposing element to her energy could begin to rot the supplies of spiritual energy within The Captain if something was not done about these lethal particles being injected into him. And, when it came to his senses, he'd soon find them being lowered and distorted by this rotting element. It would almost be as if his body was becoming consumed by darkness itself and being made to be a sacrifice for death itself. His health may even begin to steadily decrease from this point onward and his overall speed, strength and durability could lower quite a bit as a result.

Nevertheless, Saiko decided to further the distance between them and jumped roughly twenty feet backwards before locking eyes with her opponent. It seemed, if nothing else, this guy was full of words to say. This is because he seemed quite enthusiastic about making proper introductions and getting to know his opponent. Shaking her head, she couldn't quite comprehend that. If she was his enemy, what did matter what her name was? All that should matter to him is striking her dead.

But, alas, she'd indulge in his request. At least, if for no other reason than taking her own mind off the anxiety, dread and regret that was constantly swirling around within her head like an eternal cyclone of hurt and sorrow. Thus, she replied with these words:

"Saiko Mori. Archduchess of The Sixth Circle of Shadow Fall."

When speaking, each sentence came off as dry, quick and to the point.

"Now, please, surrender and retreat. I...don't want to do anymore...than this."

Yet, like the winds of change, the tone of Saiko's voice became more fragile and soft as she uttered those last few sentences. Heart rate increased, sweating became rampant across her body and it felt as if her limbs were made of jelly at this point. Nervousness, panic and horror swept through and charged into her veins as she anticipated the next round of battle.

There was another jump in power surging in the male, and The Silent Killer had enough combat awareness to know when to go on the run. As a result of this, she followed her instincts and rapidly took flight towards the air in order to gain a better advantage by being able to otherwise view the entire battlefield from a aerial vantage point. And, from what she witnessed from above, the sight was almost disgusting enough to make her want to vomit.

The male appeared to be twisting and churning his body in order to otherwise transform into a higher state of power. But, to Saiko, it was utterly appalling and she had to keep suppressing the urge to otherwise hurl out her supper. More to the point, though, she'd have bigger problems to deal with. It seemed that this whole ordeal wasn't just for show and the male was already prepared for his next series of attacks.

Out of the water below her came numerous series of tendrils ready to grab and throw The Silent Killer into its murky depths.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no."

Those words were repeated in a silent whimper as she pleaded with fate itself to otherwise take her out of this situation. But, there would be no salivation. Only the will to fight would allow her a way out of this mess. So, once again, her reishi retracted and transformed. Behind Saiko Mori's defensive layer of shadows would arise a pair of black, energized wings that were compromised of her spiritual energy. From their wingtips? Numerous volts of darkness shot off and over three dozen started exploding and hitting the earth beneath The Archduchess. If one were to get hit by this shot of shadows? They'd soon find themselves in a world of pain as their nerves would begin to decay, flesh could burn off and more energy could otherwise be vaporized from their body as their life-force would be attacked by this impulse of death surging and howling within The Silent Killer.

Meanwhile, whatever tendrils managed to find themselves un-eradicated from that assault would only find the colossal arms of Saiko's shield ready to great them. Grappling them with the utmost of force, these limbs sought to rip apart the tendrils and remove the threat of their master being harmed. So, for the time being, The Pale Faced Girl's mind was screaming and she could almost collapse to her knees and sob -- but she knew that would solve nothing. So, for now, she had to keep fighting until her path to safety and success were otherwise achieved.

Ergo, she started to slowly command and guide the darkness associated with her energy into various parts of the field and began the process of gradually rotting out that accursed barrier so she could leave this place and fulfill her duty. Fear or no fear -- she needed to win and she could not afford a loss here. But, she did have a question for them and it was simple enough to understand:

"W-why......why won't you stop?"

Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage] Empty Re: Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage]

Wed May 13, 2015 12:30 pm
It seemed to Tessa that her defensive capabilities had worked. The attack from this individual had only hit her blade, and while her kido was severely reduced in strength due to this female’s defenses, her fire breath had seemingly managed to deal with the wave of darkness that the individual had sent forth. However, things went downhill from this point for her though. As she flew after the female and sent her kido towards her, two colossal arm like things sprouted from the female, one grabbing her kido rope and swiftly breaking it, leaving the decaying fragments in her hand.

It was at this point that Tessa felt something wrong with her body. As she was flying after the female the world seemed to shift. Her vision blurred, the tase of death was in her mouth, and for a split second pain seared through her body before her nerves began to numb. Her wings went limp behind her and she began to fall from the sky, landing on all fours upon the ground below. Struggling to remain upright, Tessa Morrowend’s breathing became labored, and she tried her best to focus on what was going on around her. She refused to give up, to let this person win, she was not going to go down. Her desire coursing through her, a sudden guttural, inhuman roar left her body as energy flowed through her. Her skin glowed red hot as through sheer will and determination her own energy rallied against the intruding energy of the one she battle. As draconic scales grew along her skin the energy that had infected her was forced outwards, leaving her in clouds of darkness and sprays of boiling hot blood left her body. The horns upon her head doubled in length, now clearly visible and no longer hidden by her hair. Dangerously sharp claws extended from her finger as she slowly stood, panting softly from the damage the deadly energy had already afflicted upon her body.

Growling as she saw the female flash step towards her, she responded by letting loose a short blast of white hot flames from her mouth as the attacker came close to melee range. If the attacker didn’t dodge the flames and abandon the assault, the consequences would be deadly. Aimed at the individual’s face and upper body, taking the assault head on could lead to loss of their head from sheer explosive force at most. Even if that did not happen, the heat would likely boil the individuals eyes, causing them to be blind, burn the skin entirely off their face, and in general cause great damage to the individual’s body.

Quickly ending the assault though, Tessa flash stepped away, putting a great amount of room between her and the attacker. Blood dripped from the wounds that had been created when she forcefully expelled the deadly energy from her body, and she had definitely used a fair portion of her own energy to do so. If she was kept in this state, she would soon collapse from simple exhaustion due to the damage her body had taken. There was only one choice for her now, and so she took it. Turning to the direction the new captain of squad seven, she opened her mouth.

“Use any fire based kido you know on me now! The stronger the better!”

Her voice was harsh and demanding, this was not a request or a plea, this was an order. She would have to wait to see if he did as she said or he simply ignored her. The moment he did release such a kido Tessa would flash step next to it, using her control of fire to grab it and force the flames down her mouth. Devouring these flames would cause Tessa’s wounds to heal, her body to fix itself and put her closer to a healthy state. Until such a time though, she would have to fight as if she would not receive the aid she desperately needed.

Biting her lower lip as she debated for a second whether what she was doing was smart or not, she immediately let go of that thought. She would need every ounce of her strength to defeat this individual, and so she would do what was necessary. Eyes glowing with power as she raised her blade in front of her, she planted her feet firmly and spoke.

“Bankai.”

The power surged through her as a ghostly book appeared behind her, twenty times taller than her and just as wide. Her zanpakto blade shrunk and shifted, becoming a simple dagger like blade, both pommel and guard resembling dragons with a ruby embedded in to the guard. As the blade finished changing, five floating tomes appeared around her, their covers all the color of dried blood. With nothing more than a flick of her finger, all five books suddenly had glowing yellow text on the binding and flew towards the female who sought now to take on the one who had taken the part of captain. Keeping their distance from her, the five books suddenly opened, each one releasing an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns, attempting to bind the attacker from five different points. Each as strong as if it had been cast with a full incantation, no words at all had been spoken to cast all five of these bakudo 9 horins, not even the name of the spell. As the kido was released, the words on the binding faded and Tessa began speaking again.

“Bakudo 44, Armor of the flame beast! Hadō 49, Stomp of the flame beast!”

Flames erupted around Tessa before melding with her skin, providing her with an additional layer of protective scales. Grinning slightly, Tessa watched as flames burst in to existence above the one who had attacked her and was now in battle with her captain, who it seemed had gone below the water. Forming in to a huge draconic foot about twenty feet in length and ten feet in width, the construct them dropped towards the target, going straight towards the ground below the now identified Saiko Mori. The tomes Tessa’s bankai had summoned were far enough away that they were outside the range of the attack, and so they were safe. Hopefully the bindings had taken effect and thereby making it near impossible for Saiko to dodge the falling foot of flames that aimed to pin her below it on the ground below. Whether it succeeded in bringing Saiko down beneath it or not, the foot would slam in to the earth, releasing a great shockwave that attempted to push anyone within fifty feet of the crash site that wasn’t under the foot’s crushing weight away from the attack. The books from her bankai flew back to her side as she stood a good ways away, panting heavily from the sheer exertion of her energies. If she didn’t get some help soon she would not last much longer. As a sixth book appeared from around her, Tessa waited to see what her captain and opponent would do.

[adm]Alright, due to the fact that Nix has more or less gone on a long-term leave, I'm going to go ahead and make an outcome for his character. After brawling with Saiko, Cogimo would have fallen prey to his injuries and blacked out on the verge of death. Following this, one of the remaining Shinigami would have saw this, grabbed their Captain and ran out of here in a portal leading back to the SS. At this point, Cogimo would have been left in a coma and on life-support back in the 4th Division until Nix returns; if he ever does. With that said, I'm posting next.[/adm]

There was a massive fluctuation shift in the balance of the world around the combatants. As the two cores of this realm were reduced to nothingness, there was nothing holding this reality together any further. Therefore, only destruction awaited those who stayed in this decaying dimension. So as the blood of the former Captain eased on to the hands of Saiko, she took a shivering sigh and composed herself to deal with the chaotic mess occurring all around her.

The first objective to tend with? The rampaging Tessa. While her anxiety and stress were at an all time high from the murder she committed, and from the world around her turning into nothingness, she was still on a mission and actively engaged in the depths of combat. Henceforth, The Void Enigma needed to fight for her life as she feared death above all else. Ergo, as her heart starting racing at a million miles per second and skin beginning damp with sweat, the adrenaline surged within Saiko and brought a steep volume of spiritual energy to the surface.

In doing so, her Death Energy fed off this life force and became even more potent than ever before. This would then lead to the burst of white flames that Tessa shot off at Saiko becoming outright negated. The probability of that outcome was relatively strong due to the fact that the elements from her DE Force were associated with the ability to rot out and decay objects that it touches. And, when one factors in her heightened state of energy, this power would only become more of a problem to deal with than ever before.

At the same time, however, it wasn't as if this was a infinite supply. Bit by bit, pieces of Saiko's inner energy were becoming depleted and it wasn't something that sh e could repetitively use forever. However, given how fast her foe was, it was the correct decision. As the shock waves from her assault resulted in a few minor burns taking shape over Saiko's body. This caused her to yelp out in pain as Tessa did manage to do a low amount of damage prior to the blast being vaporized. Enough to make the girl feel the heat, endure the pain and feel her sight become hazy from the heat.

However, she was no where near being stopped. Even as her head began to feel lighthearted, body weightless and mind so filled with terror; she knew none of this could be as worse as the outcome as if she failed this task for her superiors. Therefore, she could only keep going forward with this plan until her objectives were achieved. As much as it pained her to cause this anguish for her former comrades, it had to be done for her own sake.

So as her opponent took the chance to cover more distance, Saiko also seized this gap in the fighting in order to stabilize her own energy and calm down from her frantic state of being. While she could have indeed assaulted Tessa without mercy -- her mind couldn't. There was a problem mentally and she needed to meditate, unwind these fears and let them go so that she could battle without them crippling her. Internally, it was almost as if she were paralyzed by panic. Saiko's legs were shaking like rattle snakes, while her eyes were filling up with tears and teeth jittering with no end in sight.

As this worry and tension reached its apex point, in that instant, The Void Enigma harnessed the power of her spiritual energy to try and alleviate these pains. Acting like a spiritual psychoactive drug, Saiko lessened this extreme anxiety by sacrificing bits of her energy to help ease the symptoms of her body. Her heart beat slowed down, then her chest became un-tightened and the fullness of her head came back as the sweating eased and her mind became somewhat more clearer. There was still dread and a sense of un-realness about the world around her, but she could manage now and focus her efforts on summoning more strength to deal with this opponent.

"...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry....but he won't make it. I told you to stop...and go back. Now look at what happened....."

The tone of Saiko's voice as she spoke out to Tessa seemed to reflect one that was heartbroken. There was a sense of defeat behind her voice as she looked with dishearten eyes on the butchered Cogimo. Despite her being the enemy, The Void Engima still felt sympathy for her former team. She spent the better part of her life becoming stronger alongside them, getting to know her squad mates and leading them on many missions where they entrusted their very lives to her. Yet, in the end, she betrayed them and led them down the path of agony and death.

So, as Saiko witnessed Cogimo's spirit escaping him, she tightened her eyes, gritted her teeth and began crying tears of regret and fear. Regret for the actions she chose, and fear for the next life she was going to reap. But, to avoid this horrid fate -- the enemy did something unexpected. Raising her hand in the air, The Void Enigma released a dense summoning of her energy and had a streak of indigo flames engulf The Dying Captain's body.

What was this illumination of power for? Simple: life. She was giving Cogimo another chance to see a new dawn by using her influence to keep his injuries from killing him. While she was no healer, the least her energy could do was keep him in a secured state until the proper medical officials could examine him and mend his wounds.

"You have no reason to trust me....but that energy will help him alive. Now....please....just go."

Pointing her pale finger at the frightened Shinigami gripping his Captain's body, the novice operative only nodded his head and could NOT understand why a betrayer would want to help them at this point. But, now wasn't the time for him to question such things. He had a task of tending to his Captain and he'd only snarl back at Saiko before requesting a portal be made for him to fall back to the Soul Society. There, once in the squad four barracks, they would sustain Cogimo's existence and keep him on life support. Even if he was in a coma, at least he'd live through this day.

For this reason is why Saiko could then direct her attention back on the transforming Tessa. The Void Engima's body started to feel another electric wave of anxiety tingle up her spine and cause a distortion in the world around her. While The Dragonic Shinigami was strong, the fear of facing her emotions were more terrifying. Having to face someone enraged over the potential death of their comrade? It was -- scary. So this critical situation caused Saiko to view the world as if everything had suddenly became larger than it was. The burning trees around them became as tall as sky scarpers, the color around the battlefield became dimmed and it felt was if The Shinigami's very conscious was beginning to extend out of her body turn into an out of body experience.

In fact, in that moment, there was such fear running in the heart and mind of Saiko that Tessa seemed to be an absolute force to be reckoned with. As she fell to her knees in disbelief, the eyes of The Void Enigma dulled and it appeared as if the enraged Shinigami was a mighty Dragon that expanded into the very heavens themselves. During that instance, there was such a sense of powerlessness flowing within Saiko that she could do nothing as she stared down the waves of kido attacks coming at her. She should have moved -- but she didn't. As much as her psychotropic drugs attempted to ease her mental torment, The Betrayer of The Gotei 13 just couldn't see how she could hope to face Tessa's true and earnest feelings with her own cowardly and dishonest stance.

'Saiko -- GET IT TOGETHER LASS!'

Right before Saiko was going to be skewed, the booming and concerned voice of her Zanpukto spirit called out to her. Himei o Ageru, her spiritual partner, refused to allow his beloved owner die by this accursed dragon. And, while he couldn't force her body to move, he could certainly control the tremendous volumes of reaitsu being produced from his master.

'You've got to get over yourself and fight to live! You can't help what happened, but that doesn't mean we can't have a new life! Please, wake up, master!'

As he tried to plead with his master to stand up and fight, the Zanpukto Spirit multi-tasked and began producing a dense and hardened barrier around Saiko. It was plum in color and had intermixed layers of midnight black energies contorting around it. These were both his masters and her DE Force's powers merging together in order to produce a potent shield to protect his dear owner. While the kido would attempt to constrict and bind Saiko, this barrier tapped into the prowess of her Death Energy and began vaporizing each restricting kido that Tessa launched off at her. This was at the cost of further lowering the supplies of energy within Saiko, but it would be well worth the risk if she could stand to fight still.

'Master, please! Don't let this fear consume you! You are better than this!'

Again, the Zanpukto begged for his owner to stand on her own two feet again. She had to stand again because she had gone this far into the rabbits hole, so what was a little bit more pain? If she died here, then everything she sacrificed herself for would have been for not. Henceforth, in order to help encourage this effort and remind her of what she was fighting for, Himei o Ageru amplified the dosage of her psychoactive drug to high enough levels to make Saiko snap back into reality. This was done in an effort to communicate with his master because her mind was entirely and utterly blank at that point. However, it was too little, too late.

By the time Saiko started to become self-aware again, the burning foot of Tessa's dragonic kido came crashing down upon the dome in which The Void Enigma shielded herself in. And, due to her energy being put into too many places over the duration of the battle, Saiko's dome did not hold against this Bankai-Level kido and it shattered. Thus, in a crushing boom, The Archduchess took the attack head-on. And, like a powerful wake-up call, the immense pain she was under sprung The Void Engima back to life.

Screeching to life with the utmost of pain, the body of Saiko underwent immense strain. While she was not flatten by it, there was a large amount of blood that spewed out into the earth around them from the force of this trample. This is because her stomach took a good deal of this blow and vomited out a high volume of internal fluids. And, since every inch of her body was assaulted, most of the bones and organs across The Void Engima's body felt strained and pressured. It was as if someone was holding your vitals in their hands and squeezing it with their bare hands until they popped. This was the pain and injury Saiko was under and her spiritual energy took a relative dip in response to these blows.

Henceforth, if she didn't do something soon, she'd be a bloody pulp across the earth floor. Therefore, Saiko utilized her spiritual energy to perform an act of telepathy. By levitating a capsule placed in her right bra, The Archduchess decided to break out her equipment and crush the canned container. In doing so, a red miasma filled the area for a mile wide area. Once this mist filled the battlegrounds, there was a sudden surge in energy coming from The Void Enigima's body. It was if she had been revitalized as almost half of her energy returned, nearly two quarters of her injuries were mended and her body became two times more durable and powerful than before.

One may be wondering -- what just happened? And the answer to that question is simple: The Miasma Of Hell had been unleashed in the war zone. This was meant to be a piece of Shadow Fall weaponry that was only utilized during war time situations. So, given the circumstances Saiko was under, now was as good a time as ever to tap into that power. With The Archduchess having half the blood of a demon within her body, it responded swiftly to the abundant source of energy seeping into veins and gave her enough strength to overpower the kido and keep it from killing her.

This came in the form of a dense wave of shadow coated energy rising from the bottom of that dragon-like foot and outright erasing it with Saiko's Death Energy. It rotted away its existence and allowed The Corrupted Shinigami to stand on her feet once more. She was dirtied, blood was spewed over her outfit and there was still scratches, scrapes and bruises across various parts of her body. But, the most important thing was -- she was still alive and kicking.

And as for Tessa? Well, she may begin to feel the effects of the Hell Miasma herself. The reason for this is because this essence of the underworld corroded those whom were not Arrancar, Demon or other variants of these satanic races. Therefore, The Dragonic Shinigami may begin to feel her insides burning, senses weakening, energy lowering and her durability and offensive potential being lowered by two times while within this mist. If she was caught in this air for too light? The risk of her dying may very well come to past with how far her own body was being taxed.

While, on Saiko's end, this wasn't a perfect cure. Due to her half blood, the pain started to surge in her body and she could feel the effects lowering and she ultimately only received a twenty percent boost in its effects after the initial release of this miasma. So that meant some of her injuries slowly came back in the form of more blood dripping out of Saiko and her energy evening back a bit. However, unlike Tessa, the risk of death was low since her demonic blood would also work on keeping her alive.

So, weary and mentally exhausted, the body of The Void Enigma began to shake, but she was still going to finish this mission no matter what. It is what the contract to her soul was tethered to, and while she did not wish to proceed with it any longer, she had no choice. Therefore, as she tightened and closed her eyes, The Archduchess started assembling a great amount of Death Energy to the surface due to the fact that her spiritual energy was beginning to become somewhat strained.

"Please....after this attack...do not get back up. I don't want to see back up because that is only going to cause more pain for you...and myself."

Uttering those words out as if she were pleading with Tessa, the Void Enigma seemed ready to finish things once and for all with this match. So, in one explosive summoning of rotting force, Saiko Mori unleashed a tidal wave of death energy meant to outright devour all spiritual energy it came into contact with. This would then attempt to force itself upon The Dragonic Shinigami and force her back into a base state as it consumed her life force and reaitsu.

However, the influence of Saiko would not allow it to kill her and she wanted to otherwise spare her foe. Ergo, as this burst of raw DE Force spread for the next half mile, the potent energies of The Archduchess's reaitsu compromised a teleportion based kido. Seeing how she already understood the layout of the Seireitei, it wasn't far-fetched for her to produce a vortex that would lead back into the Squad Four barracks. Of course, it was up to the Research Department to accept this foreign request, but once they sensed Tessa they should no doubt accept this transfer. In this way, Saiko would not have to kill another, she could complete her objective and be done with this nightmare already.

In the meantime, with her spiritual aura capable of performing feats of telepathy, it wasn't out of the question that Saiko could send a lone tendril of indigo and black shaded energy into the depths of the decomposing lake. What was its perhaps? To grab the gem that she had so furiously fought for in this event. If she were able to grab that, and samples of the waters below, then all of this would not have been for not. Therefore, with her kido still active, Saiko produced a second portal and had waves of this orchid shaded water transfer itself to the depths of Shadow Fall's own research facilities. There? They could construct a means in order to further empower their army and Saiko would have been successful in her objectives.

After coming this far and enduring these hardships? Not even her own Zanpukto spirit was going to allow the girl to fall here. So, as she reached for higher ground, Saiko devised a third portal and hoped to escape the fall out of this realm herself by seeking cover in one of Shadow Fall's oceanic bases on Earth. It was up to Tessa to decide her next course of action: chase after Saiko, fall back to the Soul Society, be destroyed by the corrupting world around her or attempt to find riches in this land of decay. Only time would tell what course the Dragonic Shinigami would take, but The Void Enigma was keen on escaping out of here. There was just too much pain associated with fighting anyone from the Gotei 13. So, just like on that day, she planned to out run it and never look back.

"I'm sorry...."
